Chapter 13

"That bastard was flirting with me, I swear he was. Next time I see him I'm going to punch him in the face and kick him where it hurts" Vicky seethed as Rose tried to place a bandage over her head wound. She tried and failed. "I know you're angry at Kuro but could you please be still so that I can tend to your wound" Rose grumbled back annoyed.

Everyone was gathered in the healing chambers to get their wounds healed. Rose, Harry, Maisie and Martha escaped the battle with only a few minor cuts and bruises. However Kimimaru and Vicky were another story.

Vicky had a large bruise on the top left hand side of her head which was a red colour but was starting to go purple. Cuts and slashes marred her body and were starting to scab. A large bruise was also present on her stomach.

Kimimaru was lying unresponsive in a bed with grey sheets. His skin was clammy and slightly warm to the touch. His hair was splayed out in all directions on the pillow. Many bandages were tied around his middle hiding the monstrous knife shaped hole that was cut into him. The only sign showing he was alive was the slow, heavy breathing that caused his chest to slightly rise and fall.

Adrianne sat at his side clutching his pale hand in her own rosy ones. Tears poured silently down her cheeks as she stared at the teen who had almost given up his life to save her own. 'Please wake up soon Kimimaru' she thought miserably. She sighed and rested her head on the bed. Vicky looked over at that and smiled. 'Looks like you're not getting ignored anymore Kimimaru. Good luck in the days to come' she thought.

"What are you smiling at? I thought you didn't like Kuro" Rose teased. Vicky's attention instantly snapped back to the blonde. "Shut up! I can't stand that guy".

Yugi silently watched as he sat alone in the corner, a frown painted on his face. He exhaled slowly and observed the cold stone ground. 'Why can't I just be happy for once? Does even destiny hate me? I just wanted to live a peaceful life with some true friends. I've always done whatever I can to help other people, putting their needs before mine…So why? Why can't I be happy?'

"Hey" Harry greeted as he pulled up a chair and sat next to the silent King of Games. "Hey" Yugi replied in a quiet, dead, monotonous voice. Harry's smile faltered slightly. "Are you okay Yugi?" Harry asked. "I'm fine" was Yugi's answer. 'Something is wrong' Harry thought.

"Hey Yugi we know it wasn't your fault. We forgive you, you know that right" he said. Harry's eyes widened as a tear trickled down Yugi's cheek. "How can you just forgive me like that, after everything I said and did" Yugi said in a cracked voice. "Because that wasn't really you, and besides, what kind of friends would we be if we let a silly enchantment ruin our friendship" Harry replied firmly.

Yugi was silent for a moment before he smiled and replied "Thanks Harry". Harry also smiled. "There, that's the Yugi I know. The one who always has a smile on his face". "You got that right" Martha agreed as she also sat with the two boys".

Yugi looked over at Vicky who winked at him. 'Told you so' she mouthed causing Yugi to smile at her. 'Thank you' he mouthed back. Vicky gave him a thumb up as an answer.

Maisie watched this silently before turning away. She looked at the bed where Kimimaru and Adrianne were. 'I hope you will wake up soon Kimi, looks like everyone here really misses you'.

Everyone turned as Sakura and Kanji entered the medical bay. "Members of Justar the King wishes to see you in the throne room immediately" Kanji announced. "Please come with us" Sakura continued as she gestured out the door.

Martha, Maisie, Harry, Rose, Vicky and Yugi all stood up and followed. Vicky winced in pain with every step as her wounds were still healing. Yugi slowed down and allowed her to slip an arm around his shoulders to spread her weight. "Thanks Plugi" Vicky smiled gratefully. "Anytime" Yugi replied.

Once they reached the throne room they were met with the sight of Pelagius addressing his advisors while countless numbers of servants scurried around trying to clean up the mess and rubble and fix the damage. Pelagius turned to them as they entered and dismissed his advisors.

"We have brought them your majesty" Kanji stated as he and Sakura bowed. "Thank you Kanji, Sakura. You two take the day off and recover from the fight" Pelagius replied. Kanji and Sakura nodded before they hurried off.

"What did you wish to see us about?" Martha questioned getting straight to the point. Pelagius sighed and sat down on his throne. "Well I wanted to discuss what happens next. There has already been one attack from Kuro and his allies and I know you can't stay forever to protect Adrianne. You have already been away from your own world for so long so I guess you will be returning soon" Pelagius explained.

"That is correct" Martha replied. "But don't worry, Adrianne will be fine. You have some fine guards who are more than capable of protecting her. Kanji and Sakura were able to save the princess while we were preoccupied fighting and Kimimaru even took a knife for Adrianne" Vicky continued.

Pelagius smiled and nodded. "Yes that is true. I hope you enjoyed your stay here. And Yugi" Pelagius said. Yugi looked up at Pelagius cautiously. "Yes he replied timidly. "I'm very sorry about the way my daughter treated you and I know that she is sorry too. It won't happen again and I hope that you will still come and visit sometime". Yugi gave a small smile. "That's okay I forgive her. I will come back and visit, that's a promise".

It had been two days since the battle and Kimimaru still showed no signs of waking up from his coma. The members of Justar were still hanging around waiting for their friend to wake up before they left. Everyone was confused by Adrianne's behaviour though. She was constantly at his bedside from morning to night. She had gone from ignoring the servant to caring a lot for him.

It was round about midnight and the moon was shining its shimmering light through the windows of the medical bay. Adrianne lay with her head on Kimimaru's chest and was still clutching his hand. Her eyes were closed as she rested, fast asleep.

Kimimaru twitched suddenly in the bed and his face scrunched up as he registered pain coming from his stomach area. Slowly he opened his eyes. He was met with the large, dark ceiling of the medical bay. He was momentarily confused on how he got here until he remembered the battle and getting stabbed.

Kimimaru groaned as he tried to get up but a weight on his stomach prevented him from moving. Kimimaru lifted his head up and peered down. He gaped when he saw the princess asleep on him before he blushed bright red. 'Oh god why?' he thought as he tried to calm himself down.

Adrianne shifted slightly as she felt movement from the chest below her. She yawned before she slowly opened her eyes. She gasped in shock when she saw blue eyes staring back at her. "Kimimaru" she whispered.

Kimimaru froze as he saw tears pour from the princess's eyes. He was about to ask what was wrong when Adrianne suddenly flung herself at him and hugged him tightly to her. Kimimaru froze again in disbelief as he still tried to comprehend what was happening. "Kimimaru I was so worried about you. I thought you were going to die and I was so scared that you would never wake up" Adrianne sobbed.

Kimimaru's eyes softened as he lifted his arms and hugged her back. "It's okay, I'm alright now". Adrianne looked up at Kimimaru as he wiped the tears from her cheeks with his thumbs. "I'm so sorry for how I've treated you all these years. I've been a selfish brat who was greedy and…You've always been there for me and I'm so sorry that it took you getting stabbed by a knife for me to realise how much I truly care for you…" Adrianne rambled before she trailed off.

Adrianne blushed as she realised what she had admitted at the end. She stared up into Kimimaru's wide eyes and chuckled at his gobsmacked face. She lifted her hand and shut his hanging mouth. "You know you look really cute when you are surprised" she admitted.

"Wha..." he started to say before Adrianne reached up and caught his lips in a kiss. The kiss was gentle and conveyed feelings of care and love. A tear of joy ran down Kimimaru's cheek as he closed his eyes and kissed back.

Yami took a deep breath as he found himself in front of the door. The door that had been hiding all of Yugi's secrets. Yami sighed as he reached out his hand and opened the door revealing Yugi's untouched room.

Dust was starting to collect on the surface of the desk and on the bed sheets. Yami trailed in and scanned around the room. He had finished telling the others about what he had found out and returned home to search Yugi's room.

Yami opened the desk draw and rifled through the items however he only found the duel deck and disk from before. Yami groaned annoyed before he moved on to the bed. He pulled back the covers and removed the pillows and replaced them again after finding nothing.

'Well I suppose he won't of hidden them in easy places as he knows me or grandpa could come in' he thought before he walked towards the closet door that was hanging slightly open.

Yami pushed aside the leather pants (we want your leather pants: LOL Yugioh abridged) and tops till he reached the wooden back. He looked down at the bottom of the wardrobe and crouched down. He felt along the panel of wood till his finger found a tiny hole in the back right hand corner.

'Aha I know you too well Yugi' Yami thought as he pulled away the panel revealing a hidden compartment beneath stacked full of books. Yami lifted the pile up and dumped them on the bed. Yami picked up the first book and studied the cover.

'Laws and formal etiquette of the system of Ebdar'

'So has Yugi gone to this Ebdar place? Well it is at the top of the pile so I guess it is'. Yami placed the book down and picked up the book beneath.

'The history of Ebdar'

'Yep it's definitely Ebdar' he thought before he went on to the next book.

'Justar: Our methods, meanings and tactics'

'What on earth is Justar' Yami wondered as he tried to open the book. However the clasp on the book wouldn't open. It was made of a silvery metal with a symbol of a star. Yami pulled at the cover but it would not budge. 'Why won't it come off? Is there some sort of spell or key?'

He reluctantly put down the book and stood up. He went back over to the wardrobe but there was nothing else there. Yami surveyed the rest of the room and his eyes fell on a wooden bulletin board covered in pictures pinned to the wall.

Yami pulled out the pins and took it off the wall revealing a small hidden alcove behind. Yami reached in and grabbed a couple of small objects. One was what looked a little like a phone with many buttons on however there was a blue stone in the middle. Another item was a silver ring with an amethyst on, the amethyst was glowing a slight purple colour. The last item was a mirror. It had a handle made out of a pure white stone that curled around in a smoke like design. At the base of the handle an eye was engraved with the iris coloured gold.

Yami placed the items on the bed with the books before he flopped down and picked up the mirror. "What does Yugi need this mirror for" he wondered aloud but froze once he looked into the mirror. As soon as he had picked up the mirror, instead of seeing his reflection he could see Yugi.

Yugi was sitting on a balcony overlooking a garden full of flowers. A girl with shoulder length, light brown hair and light blue eyes. She had a friendly smile on her face as she appeared to be chatting with Yugi. Yami watched as The girl appeared to say something making Yugi laugh before he remembered who the girl was. It was the new girl Vicky.

A few moments later the image faded leaving Yami staring into his own reflection. 'That was weird' Yami thought as he stared intently at the mirror, willing the vision to come back. He was disappointed when nothing happened. He sighed and placed the mirror back onto the pile he had made. 'At least I know Yugi is alright, but why has he been away for so long? Surely he must have finished whatever he is doing by now'.

Yami sighed and looked over at the bulletin board. He stared at a picture of Yugi when he was preparing for battle city. He was sitting amongst his cards that were spread out over the floor with the millennium puzzle around his neck and a smile on his face.

\I miss you Yugi\

Yami: Yes I was actually in this chapter!

Vicky: Attention seeker

Yami: What!

*Yugi runs in looking pissed off*

Yami: Yugi?

Yugi: *glares at Yami* Who said you could go through my stuff in my room?

Yami: No-one, I just wanted to know...

Yugi: YAMI I'LL KILL YOU
