Chapter 14

"Finally we are leaving! Freedom" Maisie shouted happily. Rose sighed and bonked her on the head. "Shut up Maisie, don't be so rude in the King's presence" Rose hissed before she turned to Pelagius, "forgive my friend here, she appears to be homesick".

"No apology is needed, I understand how she feels" Pelagius chuckled.

"Yeah Rose. You should apologise for hitting me on the head, you could have given me brain damage" Maisie retorted.

"Wouldn't make a difference to you if you did though"

"Hey what're you trying to say" Maisie grumbled.

Yugi sweat dropped as he watched the two girls argue. "Looks like they're at it again. They really are still children" he sighed. Vicky, Harry and Martha nodded in agreement. Harry looked to his left and spotted Adrianne and Kimimaru approaching.

"Hey look who's up and walking" Harry greeted as Kimimaru and Adrianne stopped before the group standing in the throne room. "Good morning" Kimimaru greeted while Adrianne smiled and waved. (Smile and wave boys, Smile and wave. Lol Madagascar -_^).

The group fell silent as Adrianne approached Yugi slowly. She nervously stared into Yugi's amethyst eyes and relaxed when she saw no trace of anger. "Yugi…" she began before she trailed off and looked at the ground. Yugi stared at the expression of guilt painted onto her face before he replied "What is it?"

Adrianne gulped before she continued. "I'm so sorry… about everything that I did. I was stupid and irresponsible. I let my feelings get in the way and many people ended up getting hurt as a result. I know that there is no way that you and the others can forgive me, I can't even forgive myself. But I just wanted to say that I'm sorry and I wish you the best of luck, wherever your destiny leads you".

Yugi was silent as he looked down and his bangs covered his eyes and casted shadows over his face. Adrianne cringed and shuffled back, and jumped when Yugi looked up a couple of seconds later.

He had a smile on his face as he replied. "Apology accepted. I guess sometimes people do things they regret, everyone makes mistakes. Besides you can't control your feelings… So I forgive you. You will always be one of my friends and I hope that you will grow to be a well-loved, wise, kind ruler. And that someday you will find someone you truly love who loves you in return".

Adrianne blushed and joined hands with Kimimaru. "Well actually I believe I may have already found that someone, right Kimimaru".

"Definitely" Kimimaru replied making Adrianne blush ten shades darker. "Yeah go Kimimaru, aiming high I see. Well done, looks like you've got this in the bag. You move fast Kimi" Maisie guffawed.

"Shut up" Kimimaru retorted as he also blushed.

Adrianne turned to her father. "Speaking of which I have something I wish to discuss with you father. I want to marry Kimimaru".

Pelagius smiled before he replied. "Fair enough, but answer me this. Is he also under and enchantment or is he being paid".

"Wh…What. Father! How could you say tha… Oh you are so mean. Don't joke around like that" Adrianne grumbled as she hit her father playfully on the arm. The king was cackling now at his own joke. "What?" he replied, "the king is allowed to joke around sometimes".

Martha smiled as she announced "I hate to break up the joke but we will be leaving now, we are way behind schedule. Until next time your majesty".

"Oh yes, right. Goodbye Martha. Maisie. Harry. Rose. Vicky. Yugi. Ebdar will never forget you and what you have done for us. You will always be heroes to our people and you will always be welcome here. If you need any help you need only to ask" Pelagius replied.

"Goodbye friends" Kimimaru added while Adrianne waved.

The Justar members smiled as they each got out their own teleporter and pressed the blue button in the middle.

"See you guys tomorrow at school" Yugi shouted as he waved over his shoulder at his friends.

"See you Yugi" they replied before Yugi turned the corner and they were out of sight. Yugi sighed and looked down at his leather outfit. 'I'm so glad to be back I can wear leather again, I missed this! Well I better get back home. At least it is still light. It's five o clock in the afternoon according to my teleporter. I can make it back in time for tea. I wonder what grandpa is making. Anyway I better get moving'.

Yugi pulled along his suitcase which was trailing behind him. Yugi slowed down as he passed the shop window and stared at his reflection. 'Wow I've definitely gotten a lot taller. I hope grandpa still recognises me'.

About ten minutes later Yugi found himself standing outside the door of the Kami game shop. 'Well here I am, it's now or never I guess' he thought before he opened the door.

Inside the game shop there were no customers, and Mr Muto was fast asleep at the cash register. Yugi smiled as he soundlessly crept over. 'I best not wake him, looks like he could use the rest. I'll just go and unpack'.

Yugi yawned silently as he trudged soundlessly up the stairs, dragging his suitcase behind him. Yugi's thoughts wandered as he made his way over to his door. 'I wonder who Kuro really is, have I met him before? He seemed to know my name… and what did he mean by what happened to the old, gentle Yugi? And Maisie. Will she ever forgive me? She hasn't spoken to me at all since the incident'.

Yugi sighed as he abruptly opened his door and shuffled inside. He cried out a few seconds later when he came face to face with Yami. Yugi scuttled back a couple of feet before he cried "what are you doing in here? This is my room. Go away".

Yami just smiled sadly at Yugi before replying "We know everything Yugi. About Justar, the lights, your mission. I was just in here looking for more answers. A man called Seimei came and explained everything, so I told the others".

A vein appeared on Yugi's head. He stomped forwards and grabbed Yami by the collar. "Just because Seimei told you some things doesn't give you the right to invade my privacy and snoop around my room. Next time if you want something just ask, you got that?" Yugi hissed.

Yami nervously nodded and Yugi released his strong grip, turned and leant down to pick up his suitcase. He hoisted it up in his arms before he flung it onto the bed.

"So… how did the mission go" Yami asked causing Yugi to freeze. Yugi's eyes widened for a second before he regained control of his emotions and wiped his face blank. "It was ok" he quietly replied. He appeared calm on the outside but on the inside he was reliving his time in Ebdar. When he was attacked by Kuro in the garden. When he betrayed his friends under the influence of the spell. When he was powerless to do anything as his friends were fighting and falling around him. When he-"

"Yugi are you alright?"

Yugi gasped as he felt Yami place a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see concerned crimson eyes staring into his own. "Tell me what's wrong Yugi" Yami demanded.

Yugi shrugged off Yami's hand and turned back to his suitcase which he opened and started to rummage through the contents. "Nothing's wrong. I'm just tired okay". /Just leave me alone and stay out of my problems/.

Yami sighed and decided against pushing Yugi for answers. "Well if you ever want to talk about your problems, you can come to me for help, alright Aibou?"

"Alright" Yugi grumbled as he piled clothes back into his closet.

"Want help unpacking Aibou?" Yami asked.

"No, I'm fine. Besides I'm sure you have more important things to do such as playing card games or going out with your friends" Yugi deadpanned back. Yami ignored this response as he started to help anyway while Yugi stared at him.

"So why are you suddenly being all nice and helpful towards me? Do you want something?" Yugi asked suspiciously. Yami turned and smirked.

"Actually I would like to challenge you to a duel. What do you say King of Games?"

"No. I don't play children's card gamed anymore. You should ask Joey or someone".

The smirk fell from Yami's face. "But Aibou!"

"No is no Yami"

"Okay then how about we make a bet"

Yugi cocked a brow. "What sort of bet?" he asked curiously.

"If I win, you have to start playing duel monsters again. If you win, I won't bother you for a month. Deal or no deal?"

"…"

"Deal?" Yami asked

"Fine. Deal. Just let me look for my deck" Yugi confirmed. Yami smirked as he watched the younger duellist rummage around his desk draw in search of the deck.

'I will win this Aibou, I have been practising while you've been away. And I won't allow you to give up on duel monsters and the heart of the cards'.

"Found them" Yugi announced as he showed Yami his dusty deck and duel disk. Yugi rubbed the cards on his leather pants before sitting down cross legged on the floor.

Yami sat down opposite him and pulled out his own deck from his deck holder. "Are you ready to be beaten Yugi, cus I'm not going to lose to you this time" Yami smirked.

A ghost of a smile crept over Yugi's lips. "Even though I haven't played for a while, I still don't plan on going down without a fight". This caused a small chuckle to escape Yami.

"I would expect nothing less from the king of games. Now, Let's Duel!"

"You've played very well but not well enough. My Dark Magician uses dark magic attack reducing your life points to zero".

Yugi's eyes widened as he comprehended that he had just lost the duel. "I lost" he admitted in a little voice as he picked up his deck and flipped through them.

"Yes but you did play very well. I only had 150 life points left. Anyway I won the duel so you have to start playing duel monsters again" Yami smugly announced before he smirked at Yugi, who in return scowled.

"But I don't have the time to play, I'm trying to stop Kuro and his bunch of goons from taking over and kidnapping people" Yugi retorted. Yami's smile never faltered as he simply replied "But you're not spending every single minute stopping him, you can play in your free time. And I am going to make sure you keep your promise. I want another duel on Saturday that is five days from now".

"Fine" Yugi grumbled.

"Perfect" Yami purred.

Yugi rolled his eyes before he picked up the pile of books on the bed and hid them back inside his wardrobe. He then picked up the mirror and spare transporter and placed it back behind the board. After this Yugi collapsed down onto the bed and rolled over so that his face was pressed into the pillow.

"Yugi?" Yami questioned.

"I'm taking a nap cus I'm tired and haven't had much sleep recently. Wake me up when dinner is ready" Yugi replied, his voice muffled slightly by the pillow.

Yami sighed before he smiled and walked over to Yugi. "Okay, by the way welcome back home". Yami reached forward and ruffled Yugi's hair before sprinting out of the room. Yugi could barely let out a cry of protest before his bedroom door was swinging shut.

Kuro sighed as he stared at the small game shop at the end of the street from where he was sat on a nearby rooftop. He could see the teenage boy lying curled up on the bed, breathing slow and steady showing he was deep in sleep. The boy's face was peaceful and his lips were curled up in a small smile.

A tear rolled down Kuro's cheek as he stared at the teen he had met and fought against. Another tear followed as he remembered the look of anger and hatred the boy held towards him.

"Yugi…"

Yugi woke up with a start as he heard a voice whisper his name. 'What was that? Did I hear my name right now? Why do I feel so uneasy, like I'm missing something important that's right in front of me?'

"YUGI DINNERS READY" Yami shouted from downstairs, breaking Yugi's train of thought.

"COMING" Yugi shouted back.

"I wonder what it is though, I'll just ask the others at school tomorrow and see what they think of it" Yugi thought aloud before making his way downstairs.

Yugi: Who are you really Kuro, just tell me!

Kuro: Fine. I am really-

Orange: Don't you dare speak another word Kuro, I won't let you spoil the story

Yugi & Kuro: ORANGE!

Orange: Leave now!

Yugi & Kuro: *Run off into the distance*

Orange: *sigh* Please review before I kill someone
