Orange: was being a bridesmaid at my aunts wedding and revising for tests, how about you?

Chapter 7
It was an understatement to say that the throne room was simply magnificent. Flickering flame torches burned on the large stone walls and the floor seemed to stretch on endlessly. The hall was enormous and millions of pillars ran down the edges of the room in lines. A long, expensive looking purple carpet ran down the middle in a line cutting the sea of stone in half. At the end of the carpet there was a large stone throne with steps leading up to it. Countless numbers of precious jewels covered the top of the throne and they glittered beautifully in the torchlight.
Hundreds of guards stood on either side of the throne in the same armour as the guards from the gate. Their eyes pierced the newcomers like hawks on their prey, daring them to do something wrong.
The king was sat upon the throne majestically, radiating a confident that reminded Yugi of the Pharaoh and Kaiba. The king looked like he was in his mid-thirties, with young but wise onyx eyes and chocolate coloured short hair. A golden crown rested on his head showing his status as the king of Ebdar. He was dressed in long purple silk robes that flowed down the throne steps like a waterfall.
Yugi and the others slowly walked down the carpet pathway while Kimimaru followed closely behind. Once they approached the throne they all knelt down onto their knees and bowed their heads to the floor. "Rise" the king commanded and they all got back up again. Yugi peeked up at the king and calmed slightly when he was met with a kind, friendly smile. "I'm glad you are here, Justar messengers. I am King Pelagius of Ebdar. Who are you?"
They introduced themselves one at a time. "I'm Vicky, nice to meet you your majesty" Vicky greeted. "The name's Martha and this is my little sister Maisie" Martha announced while Maisie smiled and waved. "Harry" Harry said as he stepped forwards slightly. "Rose" Rose announced. Yugi looked up at the king as he said "Yugi".
The king smiled. "So you are here to protect my dear daughter". "Yes your majesty" Martha replied as she bowed a little. The king looked to his left before he called out "Adrianne come and greet our guests". A few seconds later the king's daughter, Princess Adrianne approached from a corridor leading to the left.
She was dressed in a long aqua dress that shimmered slightly as she walked. The dress wrapped around her neck and was fitted at the top with gold. A golden tiara which was melded into rose patterns rested on her waist length blonde hair and her onyx eyes stared curiously at the guests.
She walked gracefully but confidently as the whole room focused on her. "It's a pleasure to meet you, I hope you enjoy your stay here in Iswald". Her voice was soft and chimed out each word gently like a bell. She smiled slightly as she studied them one by one. Her eyes swept past everyone and finally fell on Yugi. It was love at first sight for Adrianne.
She blushed slightly as she studied the cute chubby face and the big sparkling amethyst eyes. The tri coloured hair that was tinted purple at the edges that was a work of art in its own right. The confident aura that radiated from the dream prince in front of her.
Yugi sweat dropped slightly as the princess stared at him and went red in the face. 'What's wrong with her' he thought as he caught eye contact with Vicky who gave him a knowing look before grinning. 'Why do I get the feeling that something really bad is going to happen' Yugi thought as he edged away from the now approaching princess.
Yugi yelled in shock as the princess suddenly cuddled him. "Ahh he's soo cute" she giggled as she cuddled Yugi tighter so that nearly every part of them was touching. Yugi went bright red in embarrassment as he blushed furiously. "Somebody help… can't breathe" Yugi choked as he tried and failed to get out of the death trap.
"Adrianne let Yugi go, we need him alive in order to protect you" the king commanded as he chuckled. Maisie was rolling on the floor laughing while Vicky, Martha, Rose and Harry giggled quietly to themselves. 'Why me? I really don't want to deal with this right now, especially since I'm still confused about my feeling for Yami' Yugi thought as he gulped in some much needed oxygen.
Once Yugi could breathe again they all went back to business. "So what do you have in mind to protect my daughter from these… villains" the king asked as he beckoned for a servant who brought him a glass of wine.
"Well we have a plan. We now have two lights in one place, Yugi and Adrianne. This means that they are a perfect target for our unknown enemies. We can set a trap for when they attack. We will stay close to Adrianne and keep an eye on her and we have trained Yugi so he can fight back if they come" Harry explained while Rose held drawings of their plan up in the air.
"So you are using them as bait" the king asked. "Yes we will draw them out like a mouse to cheese" Martha confirmed. "Adrianne won't be in danger as bait will she?" the king asked worriedly. "We will do all in our power to protect her" Rose stated as she tried to calm down the king.
"Father" Adrianne spoke suddenly. "What is it my dear" Pelagius cooed. Adrianne smiled sweetly but deviously as she asked "can I have Yugi as my personal guard". "Of course you can, that means he can protect you better" the king chuckled while Yugi cried twin waterfalls. 'Someone kill me now' Yugi cried in his head.

Yami suddenly stood up in the middle of the classroom when he heard the single thought pass through the fixing mind link. /Someone kill me now/. "Yami is something wrong?" the teacher asked. Yami shook his head before he sat down again. The teacher went back to teaching but Yami wasn't paying attention. Now all of his focus was on the mind link with his Hikari.
\Yugi? Yugi are you ok? What's wrong\ he thought through the mind link as he worried about his Hikari.
/I'm fine, nothing's wrong/Yugi's voice replied faintly and quietly.
\Then why did you want someone to kill you? \
/Ohh so the mind link is working again, I thought I blocked it/
\Yugi! Tell me, why did you want someone to kill you? \
/I wasn't serious, I've just got to do something I don't wanna do/
\But I thought you were on holiday, if you don't like it can't you just come back\
/No it's not the holiday. I have some girl stalking me and it's getting really annoying/
\A girl is stalking you! How dare they \
/Umm Yami are you worried about me/
\Of course I am\
/Ohh well thank you I guess/
\Take care of yourself Yugi and remember come home soon\
/Ok Thanks Yami/
That was the last thing Yami heard before the mind link was blocked again. 'Well at least he's not trying to kill himself. It still saddens me that he wants to block the mind link again though' he thought as he focused again on the lesson.

Yugi sighed as he finished having the awkward mind conversation with Yami. 'I wonder why my block suddenly failed, I'll have to look into it later. I don't want Yami listening to my thoughts again or he will find out the truth about everything and may be put in danger. I don't want him to get hurt. And I really don't want him finding out that I have some feelings for him. The less people who know the better.
"Yugi? HEY YUGI!" a voice yelled in Yugi's ear. Yugi jumped as he was nearly deafened by Maisie's shout. "Hey are you ok, you were spacing out a bit" Vicky explained as she helped Yugi back to his feet, he had fallen over from the shock of Maisie's voice. "I'm fine I just need some rest" Yugi assured her.
"Yugi are you ok? What's wrong? Do you want me to send for the healer?" Yugi tuned out as the princess bombarded him with questions while she moved his head from left to right looking for non-existent injuries. 'This is going to be a long day' Yugi sighed in his head. "Do you wish to be shown to your room" Pelagius asked as he looked at the slightly pale teen. Yugi nodded and the king beckoned for another servant. "Take Yugi to the room next to Adrianne" he commanded as the servant nodded. Yugi sighed again as he followed after the servant.
The servant led him down the long corridor to the left, then up a large spiral staircase and down a corridor to the right. The servant stopped at the second door down. "This will be your room for the duration of your stay" the servant announced before he turned and walked away. Yugi looked to the left and saw a massive door covered in a large emblem of the royal crest painted in gold. 'Well I'm guessing that is Adrianne's room' he thought before he turned back to his own plain door and entered the room.
A large canopy bed lay against the wall on the right hand side of the room with a chest at the end of the bed. The bed had light blue silk sheets and the frame was made out of Oakwood. A mirror along with a dresser was opposite the bed on the other side of the room.
Yugi sighed and flopped down onto the bed. He closed his eyes and curled up into a small ball shape. Yugi relaxed as he concentrated on his mental mind barriers. The barriers that were once there were now gone and instead the mind link was starting to form again. 'What the? What happened to my mind barriers? I'll just have to build them again'. Yugi concentrated on building a barrier and gasped in shock when a shadow appeared and suddenly smashed it.
/Shadows? Could it be? But the shadow games and the millennium items are sealed away. What's going on? /
\I don't know Aibou but I know that the shadow games have nothing to do with this\ a baritone voice answered in his head.
/Yami! I said stop listening to my thoughts/ Yugi moaned as he clutched his head in his hands.
\Yugi, having a mind link isn't that bad. It will be just like before\
/But/
\Yugi please don't try and block me out, I want to help you\
/Look I'm not a weak helpless little boy anymore, I don't need help so please just leave me to sort out my own problems. It was better when you just ignored me/
\I'm sorry Yugi, please don't say things like that\
/Sorry Yami, I… I didn't mean to upset you. I'm just getting really stressed with everything that is going on lately/
\It's okay Yugi, I guess you really do need that holiday to calm down\
/umm yeah I guess I do/
\So are you ok with the mind link, once it's fixed it will be like normal. You will be able to close it when you want to so you can have some privacy and you can always ask me if you need some help\
/I guess so, I have to go now Yami/
\Ok bye Yugi\
Yugi sighed as he fell into a relaxed sleep missing the faint \goodnight Yugi\ that played through his mind.
Orange: Well it looks like you two are starting to get along
Yugi: What no way! I'm not forgiving him that easily
Yami: *Couches depressed in the corner*
Orange: I tried Yami I tried
Yugi: what you're in this together! You traitor, I thought I could trust you
Orange: ^_^''
Yugi: Geese first a mad princess now a depressed Pharaoh! What did I ever do to deserve this?
Yami: You were born cute
Yugi: O_O
Orange: Well this is awkward
