I'm sorry for how long it has taken but here is the next chapter! It is shorter than the others but I wanted to try to get something out for you guys!
I own nothing.
Enjoy.
George soon fell asleep while I rubbed his back. He was lying back on the bed and looked completely calm. I slowly pulled myself away from the bed and made my way to the front of the room. I knew that George would be knocked out for a while so I did my best to be quiet. I swished my wand around the room cleaning up the mess George had made of the photograph. I figured that moving anything of Fred's might be a bad idea so I refrained from doing so. I looked about the room once more before walking out and closing the door behind me hoping that George would sleep well.
I then walked out into the hall and walked into the living room. Making my way around to the couch to sit down. I sat still for a second not knowing what to do with myself in a place that wasn't really mine. I began to take in my surroundings more than I had originally and noticed that the front door was on a wall that had books all across it, the only space without books was the door itself. I pulled myself up from the couch and walked over to the wall of books. I ran my fingers over the binding of multiple different books. They were all organized to a T. Even more so than I would have organized them.
I soon came upon a book that I hadn't seen since my sixth year. It was the exact copy Harry had used in advanced potions. I pulled the book off the shelf and flipped though it. I looked at all the corrections in my old professors handwriting. I sat down with the book and observed the notes he put in the ingredient lists and how to add them to their brews. I continued on throughout the book till I reached the one Harry had won the Felix Felicis with. I could still remember him telling me to crush the Sopophorous bean. I had insisted that the book said to cut, which it did except for Snape's cross out of it with a note saying to crush it. I smiled to myself and shook my head at the memory.
Why is this book even here? How did they get it? I thought Harry got rid of it.
I soon felt a presence behind me before a hand was placed on my right shoulder. I looked behind me to see Georges face. He was reading over my shoulder down at the book in my hands.
"George, are you alright?" He looked back down at me strangely before replying.
"Don't you want to know how I have that book more than if I am alright?" There was a slight curve on the left side of his mouth as though he knew exactly what I was thinking.
"Well, are you alright?" He looked at my face before he guided himself around the couch that I was on, planting himself beside me.
"We heard about the book from Harry in a letter while you were still in sixth year. We decided to sneak in through one of the hidden passageways and went to find it in the room of requirements. When we found it we nicked it from the school and added it to our collection, well my collection of books. It came in handy a few times for some of our products." I studied his face as he looked off into space; his features were calm and softened as he reminisced.
"George?"
"Hmm?"
"Is there anything that you would like to do?" He looked back at me with a sad smile on his face.
"Maybe it is time for me to redecorate the place, after all you will be living here. We need to make it a bit more suitable for you. I assume that the bookshelves are to your liking though aren't they?" A small smirk graced his features. I laughed to myself and let a smile grow on my face.
"Why yes, the bookshelves are to my liking. I must say though that there are some additions to the collection I would like to make." He had a spark in his eyes when I said this as though he wasn't surprised at all.
"Whatever you want. In fact why don't you go ahead and change the entire living room and kitchen area make it feel more like home. Fred and I never really did much but put the couch in along with the books." I felt confused about this. I mean didn't he want to have a say in it. He would still be living here and wouldn't he want to keep some of it the same?
"George are you sure that you don't want to have a say in it. I mean I don't mind doing it all, but don't you want to keep the couch or something?"
"Hermione look at this couch." I looked down and noted the beat up fabric on the plain brown couch. "It's rubbish isn't it? Plus it was only ever big enough for two people, not that we are going to be having people over often. It just isn't something to live with."
"I see what you mean. Why didn't you ever just transfigure it?" I looked up as I asked this question and as I did his eyes popped out slightly. "You never thought about it did you George?" He looked a bit sheepish as he looked back at me.
"No, I didn't." I gave him a kind smile before I tapped my wand against the couch beneath us. The small couch stretched out into a large dark brown leather L shaped couch taking up more of the room. George looked down at the couch as it spread out and let himself sink into the larger area he now had. I pulled myself up from my spot and picked up one of the old pillows that was on the couch and transfigured it into a nice cream rug. I charmed it to place itself under the couch, it spread out far enough that there was a large carpeted area but there was still plenty of the nice wood being shown. I then transfigured a few random empty picture frames into a nice coffee table and an end table next to the couch with a dim lamp. I looked up to the ceiling and pointed my wand up at the plain overhead light, transfiguring it into a large overhead fan with three lights on it.
"That's better." I murmured as I looked down to George. He was looking right back at me with a tender smile spread across his face. I smiled back at him and moved to the couch when he patted the spot beside him. I sat down next to him and felt his right arm wrap its way around my waist pulling me to his side. I leaned my head down on his shoulder and sighed.
"This is much better, I like what you've done with the couch especially." His arm tightened around me slightly and I turned more towards him placing my right hand on his chest. I felt my lids begin to get heavy as I watched the light on the ground from the window become darker as time went by. George placed a soft kiss to the top of my head and I felt my body relax against him and then everything went dark.
