I own nothing.

Enjoy.

I woke up the next morning alone on the couch wrapped in an extremely soft blanket. There was a nice fluffy pillow beneath my head as well. I turned to look around the room to see if I would find George out of the corner of my eye. It seemed like I was the only one there though. Then I noticed the strange sound coming from the hallway and unwrapped myself out of curiosity. I went down the hall to find myself in front of Fred's old room. The door was closed but the sounds were much easier to hear.

I slowly turned the knob of the door and pushed the door open just enough to sneak a peak into the room. George was sitting in the center of the floor with large boxes surrounding him. He had put a charm on the boxes and the things he was messing with. It looked like he was going through everything in the closet. Each item flew out in a line and once he touched his want to the item it sent itself to a box. There were two boxes on the bed the second one was being taped up by a charm with packing tape. One of them said storage and the other said donate on it. The three that were around him on the floor also had on that said storage; keep and donate. I pulled the door closed and left the room not wanting to disturb him as he did this.

I found myself back in the living room and went to the kitchen. After a quick look around I realized that there was nothing in the little kitchen that I could use to make us a meal. I found a pen and paper and left a note on the kitchen table for George telling him that I would be back soon and that I was just going to run a quick errand. I found a forgotten jacket on the back of one of the chairs and transfigured it to fit me properly before leaving the flat. I went down the stairs ending up in the back of the store. I unlocked the back door and left for my first trip down Diagon Alley since the war. I knew that I needed to make a stop at Gringotts I was didn't have much money left on me and knew that I would need some in due time.

I found myself in front of the large building before I knew it. I stood there for about five minutes before walking through the doors. I hadn't been here since we broke into Lestrange's vault. I hardly doubted that I was welcome here. I made my way down the aisle to the front desk. The goblin there was doing some sort of paperwork and didn't look up.

"Excuse me, I would like to enter my vault." The goblin finished the last strokes for what he was writing before giving me his attention. His eyes squinted in dismay at me.

"Miss Granger, am I correct?"

"Yes, sir." His mouth moved down at my answer. I most certainly am not welcome here.

"Do you have your key Miss Granger?"

"Yes I do." I held the key out for him to inspect before he gave a short tight nod in my direction and came down from the desk.

"I will be escorting you myself. Given your history it would not be wise to let someone else take you. I don't believe that I need to express to you the improvements that we have made to our security since you and Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley's little break in the last time you were here. I do hope you do not plan on making a similar attempt."

"No, sir. We never would have had it not been dire to aiding in the war." I continued to follow him onto the tracks to reach my vault as we spoke. "You know having a system that required a drop of blood directly from the vault owners had could have been a way to have kept us from entering. If you were thinking of another way for identification other than the owners wand."

As I mentioned this I noticed the goblins ears perk up only slightly, but I knew that I had accomplished what I had hopped by having mentioned this idea. The mine cart stopped then. He then took me down two doors to number 614; I looked at it oddly knowing that this was not my original vault.

"Excuse me but I don't believe this is my vault." He looked up at me with a somewhat knowing look.

"Yes Miss Granger your vault was changed under order of the Ministry of Magic as well as the insistence of Mr. Harry Potter. You not having been here in so long would explain for why you are unaware of this but after the war the Ministry awarded Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley and yourself compensation for all that you have done over the years. After the Dark Lord was defeated Mr. Potter was questioned at the Ministry with many people from The Daily Profit in attendance. The scheduled questioning time ended up going over its expected time with just how much he had to explain starting with your first year at Hogwarts and the teacher that was housing the soul of the Dark Lord. Once this came to their full attention the Ministry realized just how much of an asset all three of you were to the Wizarding World and decided you were deserving of pay for what you did."

"Alright but I still don't understand why my vault was changed to this one."

"Miss Granger your original vault was opened by your parents when you were accepted to Hogwarts. At the time they put in enough money to cover all seven years of your schooling into the vault and some extra money. With what it was it did not require being overly protected. You were a young muggle born with nothing of value to your name so there was no concern of someone trying to get into your vault nor did what you have need much space. After the war though and the compensation from the Ministry you needed to have a new vault that had multiple protection spells placed on it." He placed my key into the slot along with the other key that he had and placed three fingers above it and requested that I place one of my own above his. After doing this the door began to open and it became very clear to me why my vault had been moved.

"You may notice that there are things here other than money now. On that wall there is a list of every item along with how it was obtained to become yours. Take your time here there is a button on the wall next to the door for you to call a new mine cart to you when you are ready to leave. I will be going back to my post once you close the door from the outside though you will not be able to get back in so be sure that you are done." I simply nodded at him not knowing what to say in my state of shock.

From what I could tell I would never have to work if I didn't want to. I walked over to the wall that the goblin mentioned to get an idea of what I was going into. On the list the top listing was the money that my parents had put into it and what was left of that it wasn't much only about 50 galleons which came out to 250 pounds. Then there was a listing called Ministry of Magic Compensation with a deposit of 58,800 galleons there was an entry next to it saying the equivalent in pound and I could hardly look at the number. 294,000 in pounds. Underneath the deposit there was a note explaining that they had paid me the regular salary of a regular auror of 700 galleons a month. They did this for all 7 years that I was in school for helping Harry with defeating Voldmort. There was another note beneath it explaining that they did not take any taxes from it and would not. Then there was a list of items going down the page and who they were from. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I felt the prick of tears at the tips of my eyes the farther I went down the list. There were entries that mentioned different wills from people who had died in the war all through out it. I looked back to what I could see in the room and began to go through everything to figure out what I would do with it all.

"Finally. I finished the closet." I let out a sigh of relief from completing going through Fred's closet. There were still other things to go through but I had at least gotten the largest part taken care of. I should go see if Hermione has woken up yet. I left Fred's room to go out to the living room only to find no one there. I turned to the kitchen and there on the coffee table was a small piece of paper with her handwriting on it.

George,

I have gone out to run some errands. I will be back shortly.

Hermione

I looked up at the clock on the wall and saw that it was 4pm. I had no idea what to do. I went back to Fred's room figuring that I should try to do as much as I could thinking that maybe it would hurt less to get it all done in one go. As a result I was in that room for the next five hours until I heard Hermione walk back through the door calling out my name.
