It had been years since Jeff had moved into Smash Residential, an area filled with homes for everybody would worked in Smash. As an Assist Character he did count as somebody who worked in Smash and therefore lived within the Assist District. It's a District where, you guessed it, Assist Characters live.

When Jeff first moved in there weren't all that many Assist Characters around so they only needed two to a home. He had the fortune of rooming in with Lyn, a Sacaen princess who fought for her country. Though she is lethal during work hours she's actually a really kind woman. Old fashioned but kind. The moment the two roomed they were able to get along just fine without fighting.

Now that the new tournament has started however, the Assist District had to go through some changes. Jeff figured as much, the popularity of Smash would bring in new people meaning new homes would be built. Well... that wasn't exactly the case. You see, the cost of homes would be a heavy toll on the creators of Smash so they decided to have four to a room. Jeff had prayed that he and Lyn would get some sensible people moving in with them because face it, Smash has some weird people.

That's when the door went a knocking. Jeff had been in the living room fixing up a broken pipe when it knocked. Since Lyn was taking a shower it was only normal for him to open the door. He'd figure it was a new roommate so before he got to the door he picked up the little things so that the floor didn't look so cluttered. It was only natural.

He opened the door... only to see a round orange... person?

"Um... hello? Are you a new Assist Character?" Jeff asked. He'd figure as much, this person didn't look like the average TV man. He should get used to it by now.

"Yes yes! This is house 7 right?" the person asked in an oddly cute voice. It was male, the voice kind of confirmed that for him.

"Yes, this is house 7. Are you moving in?" Jeff asked.

"Yes! Riki is new Nopon in Smash so Riki need place to live! Big Hom people tell Riki to live at house 7! Do little Hom live here too?"

Hom? What's that? Jeff was by no means an idiot but he had never heard the word 'Hom' before. It was probably what this person calls humanoids where ever game he came from. He'll ask later.

"Yes, I do. I actually live with one other person by the name of Lyn. She's showering right now so you can't see her. You should come in though, I'll um... make some tea I suppose," Jeff said as he moved to the side, allowing Riki to come in.

He had shut the door behind him softly before looking to Riki who was currently admiring his almost repaired broken pipe. He probably should have put that away.

"Wow! Heropon never see such thing before! What it do?" Riki asked. "Look a lot like Sharla's gun but gun longer. Bigger too. Is this gun?"

Who was Sharla? A friend of his? An Assist? Either way, if Sharla's gun is bigger and longer it was probably a sniper gun then.

"Um... Well not exactly. You can say that though..." Jeff said. Times like this made him wish he had better social skills.

"Ohhh..." Riki said as he poked it. "Riki so hungry, Riki no eat breakfast because Riki late..."

"Oh um... we have some leftover lasagna from last night if you're alright with that. Lyn is the one who usually does the cooking, I'm not very good at it," Jeff said.

"Lasagna? What that?" Riki asked.

"It's well... I guess you can say it's dough formed into a waved form with cheese and tomato sauce along with other added ingredients. It's good though, anything Lyn makes is good even if you don't know what it is exactly," Jeff said.

Jeff couldn't lie, Lyn's cooking was amazing. It was strange how she was able to make such food despite not being exposed to it back in her world. He couldn't help but respect her for it.

"Oh yes! Riki want to try!"

With that Jeff left to the kitchen. Riki didn't seem so bad to him, he wasn't obnoxious or stuck up. He was simply nice. Jeff figured that Riki would be easy to get along with so that makes one worry gone. Hopefully the next roommate would be like that too... Well not exactly like Riki but...

In the kitchen Jeff had gone to the oven to grab the leftover lasagna in it's aluminum tray. Lyn always said that leaving hot food in the refrigerator would make it taste terrible the next time around. Leaving it out would cause roaches to infest their house and Jeff would most certainly not like that. He didn't want to deal with those large angry roaches again...

There was also the matter with the tea. He forgot that he told Riki he would prepare some tea. He should get that ready. How many cups should he bring out though? Would four be good? One for himself, one for Riki, one for Lyn, and one for the fourth person? But what if the fourth person doesn't show up? Three then? But what if Lyn doesn't get out of the shower before the tea gets cold? No, she doesn't shower that long... unless it's been a rough day for her. It doesn't seem like a rough day for her. Does he want any tea though? What if he hates tea? No, he would have said something then. But what tea does he like? Hot tea, ice tea, Coca Cola, Pepsi? No. But then flavors though, Lyn collected a plethora of teas from around the world. Which would he be allowed to make? Hmm... Whatever! Just... make the peach tea Lyn always make in the morning. ... Except it isn't morning, it's the afternoon. Afternoon tea?

His mind was dizzy, was it so hard for Lyn to make tea every morning for him? He was simply satisfied with any tea she makes though. He didn't want to make a bad impression though by forcing him to drink bad tea out of kindness... Oh why is the world so cruel? He simply took the kettle and added sink water to it and heated it up on the stove. Lyn would always tell him to open the window when using the stove so he did just that. He then grabbed four cups and added the peach tea bag in each. It didn't matter much, think of it as an emergency cup... or cups.

"Jeff!" Oh Lyn! Finally she was out! He thought he was going to die. "Oh and a guest? I assume you're our roommate correct?"

"Yes! Riki is Heropon who came to assist!" Riki said. He heard Lyn laugh a bit.

"A Heropon? Well I never heard of that before," Lyn said, her voice carefree. She called to Jeff from the kitchen. "Are you making tea? Would you like me to help?"

"No thanks! I'm capable of making tea!" Jeff said.

"Hehe, alright. I'll show our guest our home for a bit then," Lyn said. "Follow me Ri-"

A knock on the door. Jeff had looked over to the front door. Lyn was already getting it so he can't just go out there now. Good thing he brought four cups though, the person at the door was most likely the fourth guest and even if they aren't Jeff could provide them a cup of tea. Oh yeah, the water was done heating up.

"Hello," he heard Lyn say. He was too busy pouring water into cups to see the person at the door.

"Um yeah anyway this is house 7 right?" It sounded kind of like a snobby teenage girl. Jeff shouldn't be saying that about new people though.

"Yes this is. May I help you?" Lyn asked.

"Oh so I'm living with you... Great..." Wow she really does sound stuck up. "I'm Phosphora by the way, the Lightning Flash. Nice to meet you."

Phosphora... Phosphora... That name sounds somewhat familiar, as if he heard it before. He was already done pouring the hot water and placing all the cups on a serving tray. All that was left was going over and placing the tray down on the coffee table. There will be small talk he knows, hopefully he could manage through.

He had held the tray tightly and walked into the small living room. The girl, Phosphora, had already taken her seat. Jeff couldn't help but notice how her clothing barely covered her. Her stomach and upper thighs were exposed with a vine going up her left leg, fan service these days...

"Oh is this your servant boy?" Phosphora asked.

"Oh no this is Jeff, he lives here," Lyn said.

"Then whose the orange little thing?" Phosphora asked. "Or is that some moving doll?"

"Riki is Heropon!" Riki said.

"Heropon? Strange, well I guess it could be worse," Phosphora said. She had gotten up to get a cup of tea and sat back down again. "So does anybody remember the time that the Assist Ceremony or whatever is going to start?"

"Yeah it starts at three," Jeff said.

"Oh then we have about twenty minutes. Dang, I wanted to go to sleep too... Oh well, going to that thing will be tiring..." she yawned.

"It won't be so bad though, last time it didn't take very long," Lyn said. "It also introduces you to new people."

"Hm... I guess you're right."

AN: An introductory chapter to a new fanfiction. I wanted to write a comedy fanfiction and I was going to do one about the fighters of Smash at Smash Residential but I couldn't think of much to write. I hope you like it though.
