Authors Note: Hey and welcome to chapter two of Inside the Minds of Ninjas, I thank you for coming here. Sadly, I still don't own Naruto so none of these silly one shots will get to be canon. For the record these little fanfictions aren't being used for making money.

But you guys probably already knew that 'cause you're all smart.

The shy Hyūga, after glancing up and down the street nervously and confirming no one was following her, slipped quietly away from her Sensei who was talking with Mitarashi Anko. It wasn't that she had anything against Anko, the kunoichi was just… Well, her personality was essentially the opposite of Hinata's. She'd have stayed with the two under normal circumstances to avoid being rude, but she had pets in the forest she needed to feed.

Most people who saw her nervous behavior just assumed she was having more of a "shy day" than she normally did. Although in reality the truth was that she didn't want people to follow her for the sake of their own safety, she was fine with letting them think it was because she was being more shy than normal. Of course a few people knew better than to think it was just her shyness getting the better of her, Neji, Kiba, Shino, and Kurenai-Sensei.

Hinata almost stumbled then the strangest pair of people she'd ever seen crossed her path. There was a short man who had a mustache, wearing an outfit Naruto would love, a bright yellow Kimono, fire hued trousers, and sandals the same shade of green as Neji's teacher's jumpsuits. Accompanying the man was a tall blue woman with long blue hair, wearing a dress that only an indecorous noble woman would wear, along with a string of pearls forming a stunning necklace. Her complexion and her dress unfortunately did not mix well.

Hinata made a mental note of the duo who were heading in the direction of the bakery. Surly a noble woman would be able to pick dresses that matched her complexion or have servants to do that for her, that was what they did with their ridiculous amounts of money wasn't it?

After having regained her balance, Hinata glanced around once again to make sure no one was following her.

When no one appeared to be watching her particularly closely Hinata ran off in the direction of Mitarashi Anko's favorite forest. It was after all, that was where her bunnies lived.

. . .

As Hinata entered training ground 44, also known as the Forest of Death, she finally allowed a small smile to make its way onto her face. There were no elders to yell at her or mock her, no father to tell her she should be practicing her Jyuuken instead of wasting her time with whatever it was she did in her free time, no ANBU following her to make sure she wasn't kidnapped because of the incident from when she had been three. None of them ever looked for her in the forest, which was honestly more friendly and homelike to her than her clan compound was.

Humming quietly, Hinata followed the path her bunnies had carefully shown her. As long as she was on the path she wouldn't need to worry about the hostile creatures in the forest because she was in the bunnies' territory. Nothing dared to cross the bunnies in their own territory.

After a pleasant quiet walk Hinata arrived at the clearing where her bunnies lived. The clearing was peaceful and pretty, with small yellow and purple wild flowers growing in patches near the small stream that made its way through the clearing. Cute bunnies hopped around here and there, making the well-gnawed on skeleton of the last thing that had crossed the bunnies tangled in blood-stained grass almost unnoticeable.

Hinata smiled, waving to her slightly larger than normal fluffy white bunnies. They had the cutest red eyes that matched the color of dried blood that sometimes clung to their fur quite nicely. The bunnies gathered around her, one of them even bringing one of its babies who was still young enough that it hadn't grown its fangs yet.

Carefully, Hinata set down and opened a picnic basket, filled with carrots, celery, rutabaga, fish, chopped liver and mashed kidneys. One of the rabbits seemed to smile, revealing rows of pointed teeth similar to those of a shark, completely different from the small brown bunnies that lived outside the Forest of Death.

Hinata happily began tossing the assorted foods to the bunnies based on their preferences and family sizes, grinning when one of her bunnies jumped about 15 feet into the air. "I think that's a new record Shi-Chan!" She cheered.

If Hinata had noticed the ninja who'd been following her, she gave no visible signs to warn them.

Meanwhile a missing ninja lurked in the trees watching the shy Hyūga with a scowl. The Taki missing ninja muttered a few profanities. The girl had walked into the Forest of Death just to feed some stupid rabbits. This was the girl he'd been ordered to kill, though she seemed to have a death wish and a high likelihood of dying without him killing her.

The former Taki nin decided to wait till she had her back turned and was leaving the clearing to make his move.

. . .

After a while, Hinata stretched and got to her feet. It was about time for Naruto and his teammates to get back from their mission and they would be heading in the direction of Ichiraku Ramen soon. Hinata didn't want to miss him. Perhaps she would even be able to get a seat close to Naruto!

As she left a single kunai flew from the trees, which she dodged with ease. The baby bunny squealed as the kunai lodged itself in the earth inches away from it. Hinata spun to face her attacker, glaring. "You almost hurt my bunny." She growled.

The former Taki nin had the nerve to laugh.

"Bunnies, attack!" Hinata commanded angrily.

At her call every rabbit in the clearing, visible, hidden, young, or old, launched themselves at the missing nin. He was able to scream for about three seconds before his throat was ripped out.

. . .

Anko froze midsentence, waving a hand at Kurenai to show she was alright. She blinked. "I just missed something completely and utterly violent and gory." She said petting the giant snake that slithered over to her. It appeared to be afraid of something.

"It's okay Oro-Chan, I'll keep you safe from the bunnies." Anko said soothingly, rubbing the giant snake the way an Inuzuka would rub their dog.

Kurenai shook her head. "I'll never understand why you like hanging around this forest Anko."

Anko laughed.

. . .

Hinata frowned. As much as she loved her bunnies it was always a bit of a problem when they got the blood of their victims on her light colored clothing.

How would she explain the stains to her father?
