Yesterday passed by faster than I expected. The hours flown with us playing a couple of videogames, most consisted party games, and then extra hours watching online videos, like, ridiculous Vine vids from Youtube. It wasn't anything new, just enjoying my friends' company, except… my weariness and fear brought me into a state of slight paranoia. Jamie didn't seem to mind at all while Steve, well, minded quite a lot. After the lecturing incident, I told Jamie and Steve not to say a word about this or they'll be tied to a chair and I'll force them to watch Barney and Friends and Dora the Explorer for a whole day.

My lips curled into a grin as I chuckled. I stared at the empty plate in front of me and I sighed, ''can I have some more eggs mom?'' I asked politely.

''Sure darling.'' My mom offered my friends dinner last night, and graciously Steven accepted, though it would've made sense if Steve asked previously within the hours before my mom offered… 'sorry, I can't do that, it's kind of rude of me to beg people for food.' He said. True, but he could have just asked me and then I would have asked my mom.

So wait, did he use that 'I'm hungry' excuse to get us to leave faster at Gladys's store? ''Hm, probably.'' I muttered. Thinking about that cursed store, I bit my lip. The woman requested me to visit the store today, but I'm unsure if I should. I mean, yeah, what she's saying sounds pretty tempting and at first I agreed, but now I'm honestly debating it. It… it just wouldn't make any sense for some… some stranger, to now barge in my life selling items, and suddenly wanting more 'income' by doing some voodooish, magic-abracadabra BS? Please.

But… I did buy some stuff from the lady, not to mention she's pretty accurate in my likings. Like I said yesterday, it wouldn't hurt to see what the lady could perform.

Okay, yeah, that's also true but it's a dangerous risk! Did you see how her eyes turned black? What happen if she turn me into a frog?! … Alright, maybe I'm overacting, but I'm serious! I could be making a fatal decision. I sighed. Oh Leo, I wish I had your quick thinking skills and leadership because I'm not sure where to stand on this. ''Amber?'' Okay, maybe I can go, but it'll be for a few minutes and if it's not by my satisfaction (and by my satisfaction, I meant not being demon possessed and kill people,) I'll bolt outta there faster than my thick legs could carry me! … I'm not fat, j-just puffy.

…Is that still fat?

''Amber!'' A squeak escaped from me and my body jolted from mom's fierce reprimand. My light brown darted across the table to find my mom staring at me with a peculiar expression, eyes dark. I panicked. ''Y-yes mom?'' I replied nervously, feigning a smile as she glared, upset. It's only us two since dad left early this morning for work and Mitch, eh… went somewhere with his friends, like usual, ''Amber, I called your name multiple times!''

''I'm sorry… I gotten distracted.'' It had taken a moment to realize a plate of steaming eggs laid in front of me. The excuse is lame, but it's pretty accurate to describe, ''I'm thinking about what to do later on.'' Personally, I wouldn't have anything else to do besides sit on my ass typing fanfictions and draw more crappy artwork if it wasn't for this impromptu planning from Gladys. ''About what Amber?" Mother asked.

''Oh… you know, regular stuff, like artwork and so on.''

''Ah, I see.'' Mother reverted back into her seat with a sigh, face creased in disappointment. Oddly, I felt a pang of guilt and shifted nervously, ''what are you doing today? Anything special?'' I responded with a small smile.

''Not today. I'll probably read a delightful book.''

''…Oh.'' Things started to become a bit awkward, so I decided to finish my second batch of eggs and started cleaning up the dishes. Things were already… awkward since the beginning, being so silent that the only noise echoing are utensils clattering against plates- sure, a few questions here and there, but overall, we barely communicate… why? I don't know, maybe because we don't have anything interesting to say. ''Where are you going?'' Her eyes turned fearful, almost scared.

I blinked. ''Um…'' I didn't know what to say. Being edged between the kitchen and the dining room, I scooted myself a little closer inside the kitchen, ''I'm putting up the dishes. You don't want me to do that?''

''No, no, it's fine… I just wished…- ah, nevermind, go ahead and leave.'' Slowly, I tread inside the kitchen fully with a frown. I know mother have issues with isolation, but I'm unsure if she's increasingly becoming unbearable with it, I'll probably go in a little later… yeah, call me a softie, pussy, whatever, I don't care but my mother needs company… she may not say it, however I can basically read her frantic eyes and tell. That's number one priority! The lady can wait.

The dishes cleaned and food stored in the fridge, I ran upstairs to grab my precious purple laptop and went back downstairs into the living where my mother sat on the couch, reading. I plopped sofa next beside her and opened my laptop, ''whaddya reading about?'' I asked nonchalantly, waiting for a blue screen to appear, once it did along with a password I typed in my secret code. ''Oh?'' She looked up from her book, glancing at me with her hazel eyes- so much like mines, ''well, if you must know, I'm reading about physiology of the subconscious. It's rather fascinating.'' She explained with a proud grin, ''you should learn subjects pertaining with the mind, it'll astound you.''

''…I see.'' I muttered, glued to the computer screen. Mother given me another glance before returning to her book. I, on the other hand, dazing lovingly at the picture in front of the screen… sigh Leo, Mikey, Donnie… Raph, why aren't you guys real? Such attractiveness that I cannot describe in words as I analyzed every curve, muscle, color scheme and detail in all the turtles. Leonardo is darker than the rest of them, second tallest… not too short like Michelangelo, not too tall like Donatello, and not too stocky like Raphael.

Seems like the perfect fit.

Unlike other incarnations, Leo isn't a complete stiff, stoic asshole who works all day without any play, this time he's a bit of a fan-nerd, an otaku maybe? Eh, oh well, it enlightens more of his personality other than loving ninjitsu and his master. At first, I had an obsession with Michelangelo (obviously), but then… I started noticing the other turtles. Like Donnie, well, I never really had a thing with him, but he is pretty cute, sometimes hot- yeah, he could only reach a certain level of hotness, so he isn't sexy.

Raph's sexy. Though, the thing is that I don't like Raph; never liked him before and still don't like him, why? Maybe he has the 'badboy' cliché in him that I disliked, so he's on the very bottom of all favorites. I moved my mouse on an icon folder and double clicked, watching the folder open with all sorts of fanfictions I written. Scrolling down, I narrowed my eyes and scanned for my Donnie/April/Casey fanfic.

Found it. Grinning silently, I clicked on my fanfic and ding! The document opened with all glory of my ancient electric scroll- ''what are you reading?'' My fingers gripped the edges of my laptop painfully, luckily I kept my composure, if I didn't my laptop would've been smashed into pieces… and that would be terrible, ''I'm typing my story.'' I said quietly.

I can sense her staring at the screen, and I began to feel paranoid. ''Your novel story?'' I shook my head with a sigh, ''not exactly, it's being put on hold right now.''

''Oh, I understand. So what are you typing?'' Internally I groaned, lips straightening in a thin line. I didn't enjoy explaining myself sometimes, oh actually, most of times… I just feel awkward telling my parents about my fandoms and fanfictions; they'll tease and humiliate me! Like the do with Sooonic*sigh* I don't want to talk about that. ''Just some stuff.''

''What stuff?''

''Stuff. You know, adventure and romance stories?'' Mother nodded coolly as she flipped another page within her book, and then she smirked, ''is it that ninja turtle and redhead girl?'' Heat warmth my cheeks and I shrunk in embarrassment. ''Mom!'' I exclaimed, moving the laptop away from her view and scooted away from her, ''don't tease me…'' I grumbled. I just wanted to overview the story! Geeze, can I do that without a nosy parent? ''Alright, alright, I'll leave you be.'' I sighed in relief as I continued reading my fanfic.

I start the fanfiction about… two months ago, only managed through five chapters total.

Don't hate.

It's a basic triangle story, main girl against two boys who loves her dearly. I readjusted my black glasses and began pecking away on the keyboard, keys clattering against my fingertips as my mind shifted gears into story mode. I'd scanned over my story draft earlier this morning so I'm pretty clear about the story setting. Donnie's confronting April after Casey ditched their latest date to beat up some lousy criminals, and the aftermath leads him in the hospital. April's upset, obviously, and went down to the sewers for comfort. She went to Donnie, and Donnie himself is concerned about April's sullen attitude so she confessed that Casey failed to show up on their date due to his injuries. Don's upset as well frustrated why Casey's hurting April and decided to release his frustrations.

I stopped for a moment, eyebrows scrunching together briefly before grinning, and once again, I was back pecking at the keys. Donnie isn't exactly the blow-up attitude type, well, in the 2012 version he gets feisty easily so… maybe, but still, I have to do something that'll lead up to his outburst. Hm, how am I suppose to keep this in character again? I don't want neither of them going OOC! Ah, I guess I could start with casual conversation and then April would admit her distraught feelings about her situation and…

Do you want me to make him real for you?

The clacking abruptly stopped along with my calculating conscious. Fingers frozen stiff, I slowly blinked with a confused expression.

I… I didn't… that… that's random.

My mind wasn't entertaining that, it's busy trying to finish a story. Not to mention it sounded loud, almost as if someone's talking to me.

Shaking my head, I rolled my eyes and continued into the story. April's warming up to Donatello and in return he greets her with excitement. A new discovery about the Kraang technology they could use as advantage and she congratulates him with a pat on the shoulder. Donnie blushes, as usual, and-

Are turtles your fascination?

Yes… you… you have an interest in a person named Michelangelo? He's… he's your interest?

.

Do you want me to make him real for you?

I nearly dropped laptop in fright, legs shivering from the jolt I made. My heart raced in a frantic motion as I set my laptop down to stand. ''Darling?'' I glance at mother, who stared at me with confused, worried eyes, ''is there something wrong?'' She asked, setting a book down and giving her full attention.

I didn't want it.

''N-no! No, no, I'm fine. I'd forgotten about something.'' I lied, rubbing my arms- I shivered once more when I felt goosebumps grazed on my skin… my skin felt cold.

Mother didn't seem to believe it at first, ''you're sure?'' She questioned with a raised eyebrow. I nodded hastily, ''yes. I just realized I have to do something, it's very important.'' Her worried face softened as she shrugged, returning to her book, ''okay then.'' She said and I tiptoed away from the living room and towards the backdoor.

What the hell is going on with me? I didn't think this…this… that! I unlocked the locks and twisted the knob, swinging the door open and I ran out the back. Slamming it shut, I raced towards the gate far across the house and started unhooking the padlocks and bolts and with a heave, I pushed the door open.

Yes… you… you have an interest in a person named Michelangelo? He's… he's your interest?

Gah! Shut up! Shut up!

Do you want me to make him real for you?

This time I knew my mind wasn't talking, it sounded too much like Gladys's, too much. I closed the gate and pressed my hands tightly against my head, hoping for the voice to cease.

Do you want me to make him real for you?

I knew I shouldn't have gone to the store within the first place, I don't want to deal with this!

Do you want me to make him real for you?

STOP! I screamed at my mind, gritting my teeth in frustration.

DO YOU WANT ME TO MAKE HIM REAL FOR YOU?

I fell to my knees, not caring if the dirt ruined my jeans, and doubled over with eyes squeezed shut. Pleasestoppleasestoppleasestoppleasestoppleasestop…!

COME TO ME.

COME! I SHALL MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.

AMBER.

I whimpered loudly, trembling as tears started to form. Just leave me alone old lady! I felt a throb form within the center of my head and I groaned. What is she doing to me? Is she going to possess me? Oh God, no. Arms grew stiff suddenly, and then I couldn't feel them anymore… neither my legs, tried to wiggle my fingers but it hurts, like, a lot.

Next thing I knew… I was pushing myself off the ground, dusting off my red cardigan and the sneakers covering my feet had my walking away from my home. Oddly, the panic dispersed and I start to relax, calm even… heh, maybe I just needed to release all those negative emotions and worries, then I'll feel better.

Hm… visiting Gladys right now wouldn't hurt, would it? Of course not, besides, she told me what she can do and I'm interested. A loopy grin crawled its way onto my face and I hummed Pinkie Pie's Smile song.

Everyone needs to smile.

I stand at the door twiddling my thumbs and rocking on the heels of my feet. I waited patiently for the door to open since it's locked. ''I'm coomiiiiing~!'' I heard the woman say, voice croaky yet cheerful. I smiled, hearing the shutters of the door shake, and finally with a gentle click the door opened.

It's Gladys.

She appeared happy, ''ah! Amber child, come inside darling, come!'' Without a second thought, I went inside the store and didn't flinch when the door slammed closed. The old woman scurried past me and I shivered… ''you mustn't know how excited I am to show you the wonders of my work.'' She explained, motioning me to follow her through the door hidden behind the cash register, and I followed suit. I gasped, gazing at the beauty of her room.

It's very mysterious, dazzling, and seductive…

It was still dark, but the neon lights: pink, green, red and blue soothed the darkness with its colors. Multiple candles lit across the room, revealing nothing more than the large wooden round table in front of us and laid on top was a deep velvet cloth. ''Alright child, shall we begin?'' I could feel the blood rushing through my tingling veins, excitement coursing through my body as I nodded hastily. I sat in the chair at the table, Gladys on the opposite side, and she placed odd items onto the table.

I stared at the items before me with a confused expressed. A huge bowl sat within the center of the table, a pink dream catcher rested next beside it as a small empty glass bottle, some water, a regular wristwatch, and weird colored potions and… is that a knife? I looked up to meet Gladys's gaze.

Her irises were black again.

''So,'' Gladys began, fingers interlinked together as she smiled, ''please elaborate about what you want, yes?'' I grinned, hands placed on my lap. ''Yeah, well, I have this obsession with…- okay, don't laugh at me for saying this, but I love these fictional characters-''

''Are they turtles?''

''Yes, and the name is TMNT, which is sort for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.''

''…Yes… go on.''

''A-and I love them since I first watched them! No, not when I was a kid because they had different version. The version I enjoy are the latest.''

''Hm, I believe I know what you are talking about… my grandson are a fan of them.'' Gladys laid back in her chair with a mischievous grin, ''and what do you want me to do about them?'' My heart pounded and I bit my lip.

''…Well, I don't know, maybe… maybe hang out with them, hopefully?''

''Ah… I see. We'll in order for us to do this I'm going to need thirty bucks.'' My hopeful attitude changed within a matter of seconds.

''Excuse me?''

Gladys pushed herself off the chair in fury. ''I need thirty dollars! Dollars! US transaction money! Do you not understand that? Or you never held money before?" Hands swatting the air like diseased flies, the woman glared at me with stern eyes. I clicked my teeth in annoyance as I returned her harden gaze, ''I understand money, I just don't understand the art of conning.'' Arms folded, I tapped my foot impatiently and my interest dwindling slowly.

''Hmph! No thirty dollars, no deal!''

''No deal, then I'm done here.'' I said as I gotten out of my chair- ''stop! No, wait.'' I paused, looking at the woman with an irritable frown. Gladys appeared panicky, hands motioning me to return to my seat, ''ah… no thirty bucks then. How about I bargain for twenty dollars?'' What a cheapskate…

I slide my hand into my pocket to bring out my Hello Kitty wallet and I given her my only twenty dollar bill. The lady flicked the money out of my grasp with an eerie grin, ''thank you darling. You know, all these items here require money, correct? Yes, so now let us proceed! OH! One tiny thing…'' Gladys rummaged underneath her robe for a minute before bringing out a sheet of paper… looks like a document.

''What's that?'' I asked.

''It's a contract darling, ever heard of it?'' She laid the paper in front of table, moving the bowl out of the way into my view. Straightening my glasses, I previewed over the document with analytical eyes. ''It's not much, just a contract between me and my clients… simple stuff honestly.'' She smiled.

I'd taken my time reading the contract, and nothing appeared too suspicious… except for the no-refund notice, overall things seemed safe. With a shrug, I signed my signature carelessly and handed the contract back to her.

Gladys was ecstatic.

''Splendid!" Clasping her hands together, Gladys continued, ''now let us begin! But beware, things that occur mustn't be told by anyone… is that clear?'' I nodded my head with a splitting grin.

Gladys raised her hands- and then she stopped. ''Errm, what do you wish for now, child?''

''Turtles?''

''Yesh, but do you want them here or at your house? I need some definite answers now sweetie.''

''Oh! Uh, well, I don't know… maybe I can… hang out with them in their world? I hope?'' I'm hoping for extremely vivid dreams if I'm paying this type of money! Besides, what better way than to hang out with them in their awesome lair? Eating pizza and talking to Donatello about technology? And beating the shit out of stuff with Raphael? And having fun with Michelangelo? And meditating with Leonardo? Just the thought makes me giddy…!

''Alright sweet, let me make this quick and swift for you.'' Gladys turned off the lights and lighted a reddish/pink candle. She breathed deeply for a few times and began murmuring incoherent words, pouring water into the bowl and other strange liquids. I shrunk into my seat, nervous as ever, and watched her do her… magic.

Suddenly the air felt cold.

Her eyes grew darker, and soon pitch black, looking like a possessed woman. I shivered in my seat, feeling goosebumps spread across my skin like wildfire and I started chewing on my lip.

''Thee brings wishes to itself, it shall commend to do so. With a requesting a magic, a hint of power and a binding of trust, thee owes with its full spirit. In the power of my hands, I demand your power.'' Gladys poured all the potions into the bowl, and then sprinkled the concoction with black power. I clenched my fists till' they became numb, and I squeezed my thighs tightly together. The woman grabbed the pocketknife and grazed it across her palm before quickly slicing it, blood oozing from the fresh wound and she held it over the bowl, waiting patiently until her blood drops into the bowl.

A puff of dark red steamed from the bowl.

''Give me your hand.'' She commanded and I sat there, shaking silently.

''Give it!'' She screeched and I shrieked, immediately holding out my right palm and Gladys yanked it towards her direction and I yelped, sharp pain inflicting upon my palm, a stinging, burning sensation glazing over me as I sucked in air.

That hurt like hell.

I watched my blood trickle down my palm and into the bowl, watching the murky, disgusting colors of the liquid bowl turn into a dark green color. Once Gladys released my hand, I snatched it back hugging it tightly to my chest. The witch grabbed the dream catcher and waved it in my direction, ''This girl desires her fantasies, and it needs to be met. So, in return…'' I tuned out most the way, and instead paid attention to my shaking, burning hand.

I want this to be over with… I thought, anxious.

''Soul will move one-way to another. Though, in the end, it will be mine and yours.'' Wait, what? ''Wait, hold up a-''

''QUITE!'' My mouth was silenced immediately and my shoulders slumps. This time the bowl turned into a swamp-green color and I cringed in disgust. Gladys took the watch and dipped it into the bowl, and once again, she murmured foreign language I never understood. After about… two minutes, she pulled out the watch and laid it across the table.

''In the name of all powers, I command it to be done!'' I watched the liquid sizzle and bubble over the bowl, foamy, and the stench smelt gut wrenching. I took a glance at the watch and my jaw dropped when seeing the watch steam and vaporizes the liquid.

Poof.

The temperature must've decreased at thirty, I'm shivering like a puppy.

''Done!'' I blinked for a few moments, ''huh?'' I said, dumbfounded. ''I said it's done.'' She repeated and moved out of the seat to turn on the lights. Even if the room wasn't bright, I still winced when the lights came on. I watched her pour the… stuff, into the small bottle, filling the tiny flask to its brim and she set the bowl down. ''Here ya go darling,'' handing me the watch- which have been dried, by the way, and I hesitantly accepted it.

''Now, this is a tiny sample of the vial, but this is some powerful stuff… so I suggest to mind your samplings. I'll keep the rest of this with me. That watch you are holding is the time frame to destination plane you're on… keep track of it, it monitors how long you're allowed to remain onto the plane. When times up, it'll burn your wrist for a little bit, but that's okay…! That vial you're holding is one of a kind! I'm estimating to… two days maximum. Remember, certain drops gives you certain hours, a full drop is two days at least. Alrighty darling, my work here is done.'' Pushing a tiny cork into the bottle, Gladys placed the small item into my hand and pulled me out of the seat.

I complied automatically, but still felt weary.

''Gladys?''

''Yess darling?''

She shoved me out the door and whisked past me quickly. ''What did you speak over this stuff?''

''Oh… you know, magical, witchy stuff. Nothing important.''

''Oh, I see.'' I shoved the bottle into my pocket as the lady grinned, ''let me bandage your hand and then you'll be on your way!''

''Is there anything I should be worried about?'' I asked.

''Hm… not really, in fact, I endorse you to share my items! Brings in more customers. Though, keep watch over your time while in your different plane, or you'll disappear! Hehe.''

I smiled weakly.

I'm now at the front door of my house, and I grew stiff. You don't think mother noticed my absence…? Wait, of course she does! At least, that's a possibility. Taking the key underneath the plant, I forced into the door's keyhole and twisted it. I walked inside and closed the door, locking it.

It's quiet.

I glanced around the room before making way up the stairs. I creped around my parents' room for precaution, and I smiled. I could hear the soft snores of my mother lurking behind the door.

Everything was alright.

I made it towards my room and closed the door softly. I turned on my lamp and plopped onto the bed, pulling out the tiny, icky green vial bottle with a frown. I stared at it… its odd, yet pretty shape, long and sleek but in a form of a fang maybe? I'm not really sure. I took out the watch and hooked it over my wrist, staring at the Roman Numerals. All hands were at twelve.

I glanced at the bottle.

Hope it's worth twenty bucks. I thought glumly, pulling out the cork carefully until a tiny squeak was heard. Letting the bottle reach between my nose, I cringed. Smells like crap! Ugh, disgusting!

''Hmph.'' I held my breath and tilted the vial into my mouth. I was careful since she warned me about portion, and watched as a slimy drop immediately fell from the bottle and onto my tongue. It was a tiny drop and I felt nothing.

I swallowed.

''Tastes like crap…'' I muttered. Also, my tongue felt extremely hot when tasting it…

I placed the corked back into the bottle and waited.

''Well, nothing worked.'' What a freaking con artist! Paying all this money for nothing…- uurk! Hands instantly enclosed around my neck as I coughed, and coughed, and started to choke. The burning sensation increased until I was sure my body temperature matches a pan of boiling grease. Sweat trickled down my neck and I had difficulty breathing.

I tried to gasp, but all the air sucked out of me and I toppled over to the side of my bed. Squirming, all I could feel is the intense heat and the pain wrapping around my body.

I couldn't breathe anymore.

My mind grew foggy, but my heart raced in panic. I tried calling for help, but it was futile.

I'm scared.

Suddenly I felt an extreme tug inside me, almost as if… something's pulling me, gripping me, my soul… something's pulling my soul out! I struggled, physically, mentally, and spiritually but it's pointless for the tugging grew stronger.

I'm going to die. I'm dying because I wanted to see some stupid fake, cartoon turtles, and wasted money and my life over it.

I'm so dumb.

The pain intensified internally, and if I wasn't dying, I would've screamed in pain.

Screw you Gladys… just… damn you.

Everything immediately went black.
