Chapter 31

Rory arrived at the hospital where Logan was taken to. She went to the reception. "Hi, could you tell me where Logan Huntzberger is?" She asked.

"Right through there." The receptionist said.

Rory followed her directions and went into the room. She gasped at the sight of him. Logan was covered in cuts and bruises and had bandages. Rory went and sat down next to him. The doctor came in.

"Um, is he going to be ok?" Rory asked.

"Are you family?"

"No. I um I'm his girlfriend." Rory said hoping that would mean them telling her.

"I'm sorry. We can't say anything if you're not family."

"Please I just need to know if he's ok!" Rory begged.

"He was very lucky. That's all I can say." The doctor said. He did some checks and then left.

Rory sat next to him and reached out and held his hand. "Why do you have to be so stupid?" She said quietly. She knew she shouldn't care because of what Logan had put her through but she couldn't just turn off her feelings.

Honor then rushed in. "Rory!" She said surprised.

"Sorry. I got a phone call and I just had to come..." Rory said.

Honor nodded understanding. "Is he ok? What's wrong?"

"They won't tell me anything because I'm not family."

Honor nodded and rushed out. She came back a few minutes later. "Apparently he's broken his legs and fractured some of his ribs. And they're still waiting back for test results regarding his head."

"Oh my god..." Rory said quietly.

"Apparently he was very lucky. He could have had it much worse. Hard to think right?" She said.

Rory nodded. "I just need to go out for a bit..." She said before leaving.

She rang her mom. "Mom!" She said.

"Rory? How is he?"

"He's not awake. Apparently he's broken his leg and fractured some of his ribs and they're waiting for test results of head scans. I'm scared mom..." Rory said quietly.

"Oh hon...Is anyone else there?" Lorelai said.

"Just Honor, his sister." Rory said.

"I know you said you didn't want us to come but we don't mind. We can find someone to babysit..."

"Yes please come..." Rory said quickly. She needed them.

About an hour later, Rory was sat in the waiting room when she heard a voice. "Rory!"

Rory turned around and saw her mom and Luke. "Mom!" she said and ran and hugged her.

"How's he doing?" she asked softly.

"Nothing's changed..." Rory said. She then smiled at Luke and hugged him too. "Thanks for coming all this way."

"It's no problem. Are you ok?" He asked.

"I don't know..." Rory sighed sitting down. "It's weird...I feel like I shouldn't care but..."

"But you do." Lorelai finished for her. "It's natural hon. You were with him for a long time. Your feelings can't just go away straight away." She said softly.

Rory nodded. "Yeh..."

A few days later and Logan had regained consciousness. Rory had visited everyday and Logan was surprised but touched to hear about this from Honor. He was talking to Honor when the door opened.

"Hi..." Rory said. "Sorry I'm not interrupting anything am I?" She asked.

"No not at all. Come in! I'm going to grab something to eat anyway." Honor smiled leaving.

Rory nodded and sat down next to Logan. "So...how you feeling?"

"Battered and bruised and in pain." Logan admitted.

"Well it's your own fault.." Rory said with a slight smirk.

Logan chuckled. "I guess it is..."

Rory smiled. "I'm glad you're going to be ok though.."

"Thanks. And thanks for coming. Honor said you've been here everyday." Logan said.

Rory nodded. "Feelings can't just disappear..."

"I know.." Logan said sincerely.

Rory sighed. They sat and talked for ages. Lorelai had come to visit with Luke and she had gone to the door where she saw them talking and laughing. She smiled to herself and went back to Luke.

"Seems like they're talking again." She said to Luke.

Luke nodded. "Do you think they'll get back together?"

"I don't know. But it's clear they still have feelings for each other..."

Luke nodded. "Well he better not hurt her again or else he'll have me to answer to."

Lorelai smiled at this and leant her head on his shoulder. "You know...I was thinking of maybe having a girls day with Rory sometime soon. It's just we've not seen much of each other and I don't want her feeling left out."

"That's a good idea. I'm sure she'll love it." Luke smiled and kissed the top of Lorelai's head. She smiled back at him.

Sorry it's a bit short! Hope you enjoyed! :)
