"W…Who are you?" asked Emmet softly, his arm still partly covering his eyes, as he was unsure if it was safe to get close to the new arrival; he could be friend or foe.
Emmet simply didn't know what this Griffin was yet.
The Griffin looked between the two Yellow Skins, before his gaze rested on the third figure in the room; his old eyes widening at the sight of Laval.
The young King raised an eyebrow at the Griffin staring at him wordlessly, starting to feel a little uncomfortable with this. "Uh…yes? Can I help you?"
The Griffin shook his head a little, before he slowly knelt down on one knee, bowing to Laval. "My apologies, sir…I am just a little shocked, after all."
Laval glanced sideways at Emmet and Wyldstyle, both of who shared Laval's confused look, before the Chimaian turned his gaze back to the Griffin. Standing up straighter, Laval cleared his throat and said, "State your name and reasons for being here."
The Griffin raised his head slightly at Laval's words, before he slowly nodded.
"My name is Gara, a Griffin; one of the last of my kind, that I know of. But that is when I am from. At this time, there are more than likely more Griffins left," said Gara, explaining himself to the three figures already in the room.
Laval blinked a little at the Griffin's words, before he turned to look at the two ex-Master Builders; he turned back to look at Gara when the words from the Griffin went around his head a few times.
"Wait…did you say 'when you are from'?" asked Laval, scratching the side of his mane as he spoke; wondering if he had heard Gara wrong.
A small, aged smile slowly worked across Gara's slightly cracked beak, before he turned his gaze up to look directly at Laval.
"I am not from this time, young King…I am from the future."
Almost simultaneously, Laval, Emmet and Wyldstyle's eyes widened to the size of two large plates, looking at one another with a look of confusion and amazement.
"H…How is that even possible?" asked Emmet, speaking up against a silence that seemed like it would turn into an eternal silence if someone didn't break it sooner or later.
Gara turned his gaze over to Emmet when he heard the Yellow Skin speak, before he turned his gaze back to Laval; the expression on his face and beak clearly waiting for Laval to give him permission to speak.
Laval glanced down at Gara, before he glanced aside at Emmet. "Answer him."
Gara nodded, before he slowly rose to his feet; his wings ruffling a little behind him, but stayed pressed against his back.
"I used this," said Gara, pulling something from behind him; it was the silver Dagger, with the crystal in the centre of the weapon.
"What is this weapon?" asked Laval curiously, looking at the weapon before Gara offered Laval the dagger to have a better look at it. Laval carefully took the dagger from the Griffin's hand, looking at it from all angles. He felt as though he knew what kind of crystal this was…
"Is this…?" asked Laval, glancing up at Gara, tearing his gaze from the dagger for a few moments.
Gara nodded, as though he knew what Laval was trying to ask him. "It is Chi."
"I've never seen this type of Chi before," commented Laval, looking over the crystal that seemed to be the power behind the dagger; a thin sliver of crystal white metal going through the heart of the dagger's metal.
"I would explain to you how we came across it, but I'm afraid we're running out of time; both for your friends and all the Realms," said Gara, carefully taking his dagger back from Laval and putting it back to his side. He then turned around to face the metal door and looked around it.
As though he was examining it.
"I don't see what you can do," said Wyldstyle bluntly; causing the three male figures to turn around to look at her. Wyldstyle, in turn, looked back at three.
"What? I'm just saying; unless you're a Master Builder, you're not going to get that door down," said Wyldstyle, trying to back up her point.
Gara glared slightly at Wyldstyle, but there wasn't much anger or annoyance between his gaze. As though he was too old to deal with this sort of thing.
Perhaps he looked a fair bit older than he appeared, at first glance…
"Well…" he started, turning slowly back to face the metal door.
"You're just lucky," Gara added to his previous statement, before he slowly raised a hand and closed it into a fist slowly. His eyes focused on the door.
In the blink of an eye, Gara was moving at lightning fast speed, all over particular points of the door. He looked like a brown and gold blur across the door. Almost as soon as he had finished, he stood in front of the door again. A few, two-toned brown feathers followed behind him, slowly floating down to the ground.
If it weren't for those feathers, there wasn't any kind of indication that made it appear that Gara had made any sort of movement.
Laval, Emmet and Wyldstyle all looked at him strangely; wondering what he had done to the door, or if he had actually done anything in the first place.
That was…until several small stud bricks suddenly popped off from the door, landing in a small circle around where Gara was standing. As soon as the last stud fell to the ground, the door let out a low groan before it cracked down the middle.
Drawing his Chrono Chi Dagger from his belt, Gara quickly struck the centre of the slightly cracked door. Instantly, the door shattered into three slightly smaller sections, and fell to the ground outside the cell.
Gara slowly turned around to face three figures, who were trying to pick their bottom jaws from the floor.
"…I am a Master Builder," said Gara, finishing off the sentence he had started before he knocked the door down; holstering his Dagger back against his side.
The three other figures looked at one another, unsure if they were going to believe what they just saw.
"H…How can you…?" asked Emmet, pointing slowly at Gara, before he pointed at what remained of the door.
"From the future," said Gara simply, before he walked through the door frame and over the remains of the door on the floor.
Laval looked at the two ex-Master Builders, before he hushed them into a small circle so the three of them could talk to one another in a bit of privacy.
"Look guys, I'm about as sure about this guy as you are," whispered Laval, subtly gesturing to Gara from within their group.
"But he's proven himself to be powerful, and a Master Builder at that, and if he continues like this, he might just get us to our friends," added Laval softly, a flare of hope visible in the Chimaian's eyes.
Emmet and Wyldstyle both looked at one another, silently having a conservation about what they should do. After a few seconds, the three of them separated from their small circle, and Emmet said, "We're going to have to be quick; who knows what kinds of alarms the door shattering could have caused."
Gara nodded a little, before he was quickly followed by the three figures.
Now, it was a race against time to find their friends; and get to Anti-Builder in time to stop the Oblivion Trinity.
'No pressure(!)' thought Emmet sarcastically.
