Chapter 18
Lots of things make us happy. These things include friends, family, and love, things that we're happy to have. Someone understanding you makes us happy too. Understanding is important no matter what it's how we get to know each other better. Understanding is one of the keys to making any relationship work aside from trust. Whoever understands we should keep close because they're always going to be there for you. We're only human no one is always understanding us and maybe when people do, we smile and we like them even a bit more. I don't know why that is but no one likes being misunderstood right?
Last time on Was it Fate or Destiny?:
"If only you knew the reason for the pain then maybe you might understand but right now I have a friend I need to find so do me a favour and fuck off for a while would you" Sting yelled as he drove down the road
"I can't do that Sting" Lucy whispered to herself "I love you and I'm not going to just leave you alone"
"Loke pick up you're damn phone" Sting yelled into his phone driving around to find out where Loke had gone off to. He had checked all the places he would have gone. He wasn't in the bar, the strip club, the game room, casino or the new club down town. Sting had been driving for hours. Loke wasn't picking up his phone adding on to Sting's frustration especial on a day like this.
That jackass. When I get my hands on him he better pray my fingers don't have a chance to reach his neck which I will break. Sting thought throwing his phone in the passenger sit. This is all Aries fault, damn that bitch.
Sting stopped driving and pulled up to the side of the road. He wasn't thinking straight considering he might have had a few drinks at one of the clubs. Loke wasn't anywhere he thought he would be. Sting knew he wasn't thinking along the right lines.
"Damn you Loke" Sting yelled at the sun "Where the fuck could you be?"
"Behind you dumbass" Loke said in a more cherry voice compared to his friend
Sting turned around pissed and Loke faced him with a smile that faded to an emotionless face. Loke didn't move closer and Sting just walk towards the sun now.
"You seem better" Sting whispered sitting down by a tree
"You seem like shit" Loke commented still where he was though he couldn't hear Sting he knew him well enough to know what he was saying
"No duh" Sting said to himself
"Wanna talk about it?" Loke asked
"Fuck no" Sting said looking towards the beach
"Wanna a drink?" Loke asked
"Hell yea" Sting said a small smile on his face
Loke made his way over to Sting now popping down next to him handing him a bottle of vodka. They drank about 2 shots no on speaking but there was nothing to say. Loke felt better after realizing something. Sting was used to this so he just went along with it.
"I'm moving back" Loke said
Sting didn't move an inch neither did he object.
"I came to a conclusion" Loke went on knowing Sting was listening. "I'm going to follow my path, my fate, my whatever and when the time come make a arrangement with my dad"
Sting looked at him now to see if he was serious. Loke was after all his eyes were filled with determination.
"I love her man" Loke said facing the setting sun "I want to be with her and I'd do anything for her"
"Why?" Sting asked
"When I left I went to the strip club" Loke said "I couldn't even step through the door. She was the only thing on my mind and I knew I couldn't betray her. I love her and she needs to know that. She and I are destiny and I just know it"
Sting didn't say a word he just thought about what Loke was telling him. Yeah things happen for a reason but I'm sure Destiny has nothing to do with it. It's just how life is and Life's a bitch a fucked up bitch with no soul. Sting thought standing up ready to go back home
"I'm driving" Loke said grabbing the keys from Sting's hands
Sting didn't complain and just hoped in. It was a quiet drive back to the house but when they reached no one got out of the car. They sat there parked. Maybe there were words un said that they had to clear up but Sting didn't want to hear it.
"Look man" Loke said "Maybe's it's time for me to grow up and I'll visit when I can ok"
"Whatever" Sting said "My day just got ruined"
"Dude don't make this sound like a break up" Loke teased
"But it is" Sting said teasing back "You said you would never leave me"
"I know but I have to do this" Loke said smiling getting out of the car Sting following suit
The laughed as the car lights flashed and they entered through the door smiling and happy like their day hadn't been full of gay moments and girl moments. Laxus was inside cooking diner waiting for them and Rogue was in the sitting room with a uninvited guest that Sting had drove away from.
"So what are we having?" Sting asked Laxus
"You seem happy" Laxus said serving the food "We're eating from the living room"
"Mum's death can wait for tomorrow" Sting said carrying the plates to the living room
A gasp was heard and maybe a glass was broken but how was Sting supposed to know Lucy was in the living room, not like he had super hearing or smell. So when he walked through the door and saw her he mentally face palmed and sat the plates down.
"You're mum died" Lucy said "I'm so sorry"
"Uhu" Sting said sitting down next to Rogue "So what are we watching?"
"Now you see me" Rogue told him
"Fuck yea" Loke said mouth full of pasta "Been dying to see it"
Lucy was still mouth open on how Sting could let such a thing slide like that. She still didn't understand him but she still tried to understand. She kept looking at him through the whole movie having watched it before.
Sting was unfazed and he seemed happy but deep down he was hurting so bad but he wanted Loke's last day with him to be fun and not gloomy like he felt.
Once the movie was over Loke and Rogue cleared the table while Laxus went to take a bath and hit the hay. Sting was going to wash the dishes and Lucy found this the perfect opportunity to help him out and talk to him more about it.
"So?" Lucy started off
"I don't want to talk about it" Sting told her
"Sting I know how it feels" Lucy tried to comfort him
"But you don't get it" Sting said "You don't get why it hurts so much or why I am who I am"
"Let me guess" Lucy said "It changed you"
Sting didn't say a word. She was right after all but he wasn't in the mode of reliving the events just to tell her how much he had changed. He just was ready. So they cleaned the dishes in silence. Lucy still worried and Sting still trying to hide the pain.
Once they were done, Sting showed Lucy to the door and Lucy didn't object this time. She knew she had better leave him with his brother and best friend besides what more could she do.
"Karaoke this Friday" Lucy said before he closed the door "You should come"
Sting was standing in the middle of the door frame with Lucy already outside. He hide his face because there was so much emotion going through and he didn't want Lucy to see.
"Think about it ok" Lucy went on "We can go together since you have to bring a date and all"
"I'll think about it" Sting told her
Lucy put her hands around his waist embracing him in a hug but he didn't hug back. Sting just stood there tears almost falling. Lucy then stood on her tippy toes and gave him a quick peck on the check. Then she moved away from Sting and into her car that was on the opposite side of the rood.
"It'll be our second date" She whispered as she got in
Once Lucy was far gone Sting let the tears finally fall. He broke down in the door frame on his knees and cried.
