Last time on Was it Fate or Destiny?:

Lucy smiled at her dad and embarrassed being careful not to embarrass to hard. Sting smiled too and was about to walk out of the room to give them some family time with just the two of them, but a hand stopped him.

"Thank you Sting," Lucy said and turned to her dad not letting go of Sting, "I'll see you later papa, you rest up!"

Jude nodded and smiled at his daughter, happy that she was happy and the fact that they had cleared everything up with each other.

"Thank you for taking care of my daughter Sting," Jude called when the door was almost closed.

They stood facing the grounds not leaving yet. The sun shining down on their faces giving them a lovely wave of warmth. They were both happy, one more than the other but that didn't matter. She rested her head on his shoulder and he didn't move or complain, he let her be, like he has been doing since they meet. Neither talked, honestly there wasn't much to say. They just seemed to be waiting for something but they really didn't know what it was.

His hair is lighter and looks fluffier, she noted to herself when she faced him.

The wind blew gently making her hair sway to the right, away from him. She liked the wind like this, it was calm and gentle. She didn't know why but it made her feel weightless and she liked the feeling.

His eyes sparkle when his smiling, she noticed not looking away almost like she was mesmerised.

It wasn't like he didn't notice, but he did, how could you not. He just didn't make a big deal out of it. He wanted to enjoy the weather and just for a short while, he didn't want to think about the bullshit he dealt with or the positive things in his life. Just for this moment he wanted to be like the wind, not knowing where it was going, not a care in the world but he knew the moment wouldn't last.

"Stop staring", he said turning his head in her direction, "I know I'm irresistible but please stop".

That caused her to blush a deep red. She knew he would notice but she didn't expect him to make such a comment. Though embarrassed she didn't turn away from him, she collected herself together and rolled her eyes while he smirked at her. The moment now officially gone but the silence continued no awkwardness behind it.

I wish I could run my fingers through his hair, just to feel the texture. It's messy but in a good way and maybe that's why I want to run my fingers through it, she longed to do it but had enough sense not to do so.

They looked at each other, like they've been doing ever since the moment was gone. It was like they were studying each other or they were waiting again, no one could really tell. From afar they looked like two lovebirds and anyone who walked past would have thought so, but they weren't. They were simply friends and maybe that's all they'll ever be, who really knows.

How long has it been since we made eye contact? she asked. Not that I really mind.

You could tell her intentions and how she really felt about her friend. Did he feel the same way? No one could really tell. The girl didn't really care though that was plainly obvious.

"Luce, we better get going", he spoke again, "I did promise you a fun day"

She blinked remembering his promise and why they came here and what she had just done. To any bystander who might have heard what he said it would have sounded like a date but it wasn't, though she wished it was.

"Then let's go", she told him, finally specking and grabbing his arm.

This action seemed to be a normal thing between the two, but it wasn't in anyway romantic. They weren't intertwining fingers and walking slowly hand in hand, no, they were holding like an arm shake and she was dragging him out of the hospital. Once they weren't so far from the door, they saw it open and a familiar man walked in, hair in its usual ponytail and alongside him was a light blue haired girl putting her keys away. They hadn't spotted the two students that were supposed to be at school yet but the students had spotted them. Lucy froze and squeezed his hand hard that it could have broken if he wasn't strong enough to take the pain.

"I knew this was a bad idea", Lucy stated, her lips apparently able to move.

"They'll see us if we don't start moving", he pointed out.

Lucy didn't move. He sighed at the no moving blonde and knew they were going to be caught. Knowing she wasn't going to move anytime soon he stood with her seeing as she had a death grip on him.

The other pair made their way to reception not seeing the two in the mass of people walking around.

"I'm here to see Jude Heartfilia", the man said loud and clear, "I'm his son".

"Rufus isn't it?" the woman asked, "Your sister and her boyfriend just went in to see him a few minutes ago".

He didn't seem fazed and he knew who her 'boyfriend' was but never really thought she would ditch school to see her dad. He was planning to tell her the good news when she came back from school today. The woman next to him studied him and knew he was thinking about the information he was just given.

"We'll go see him now thank you", she said to the receptionist and intertwined fingers walking him to Jude's room.

Now these two were actually dating and they were holding hands in the romantic way and walking slowly to their destination and that's when they spotted the other two. They still hadn't moved from their position because one of the - Lucy - was too frozen to move.

"I heard you two were here", Rufus confronted them.

Lucy looked at the ground in shame. All attention on her.

"You heard right", Sting joked.

"This is not a funny matter", Rufus told him.

"I know but we have a good reason", He said sounding serious.

"Please do explain," Rufus urged him to go on, "Explain to me Sting why you and Lucy are in the hospital instead of being at school".

"Same as you I guess", Sting started, "Lucy had to see her dad to say some words she has been dying to say to him and I'm here for support as usual".

"Why wouldn't you be?" Rufus's companion asked, "After all you her boyfriend"

At those words Sting was a bit confused and Lucy was blushing. It wasn't true but after all Rufus didn't know that, not that he would be upset about it. Rufus took a liking to Sting, even though he's mad at him right now but like any older brother Rufus is just looking for Lucy's best interests.

"Oh I just said that to the receptionist so she would let me come with Lucy", Sting cleared it up.

"Oh I see", she nodded understanding.

"Yukino", Rufus said softly, "Let's just go see my dad"

"Sure sure", Yukino said giving his hand a quick squeeze knowing he was also having a hard time.

The adults walked away leaving the teens to themselves again. Lucy let out a breath that she never knew she was holding and Sting breathed a sigh of relief. Sting turned to Lucy her face less red than before but she looked fine and calm again. Lucy was trying to control her breathing a little more and kept her eyes on the ground before facing Sting.

"Shall we finally go?" Sting asked.

"Yes please", Lucy replied walking towards the exit for the second time that day.

Lucy stepped outside Sting right behind her. The sun wasn't at its fullest yet meaning it wasn't lunch time yet but neither of them were hungry. They saw Sting's red car in a distance and made their way to it. Lucy got her sun glasses from her bag and put them on, Sting just walked without really feeling the heat yet. Once they reached the car Sting unlocked it and got to the drivers sit and Lucy entered into the passengers sit.

"So, what fun can we have in this town?" Sting asked.

"Not really looking to go on rides today", Lucy confessed.

"So what is it you're looking to do today Luce?" Sting asked.

"Nothing", Lucy replied. "I just want to go someplace calm and relaxing"

"The mall doesn't get that exciting but no shopping", Sting suggested.

"Please, shopping with you would be my form of torture", Lucy joked.

"I'll have you know I can be the perfect door mat boyfriend", Sting said.

They laughed at this and the fear from before left her. Sting drove on the road to the malls direction. Music playing both of them talking and everything was just the way it should be.

"Come on Luce, the beach seems like a pretty sweet idea", Sting argued.

They had been at the mall for hours just talking about really anything but mostly about Lucy's past and childhood. Sting wanted to go somewhere where he could land himself in water but Lucy was refusing to go to the beach and wanted to just lounge at her pool.

"Why go to the beach when we can go to my place and chill with free food and drinks on me".

"Your pool is probably hot by now".

"Maybe it's not".

"It most likely is".

"I thought this was my day!".

"It's my day too".

Honestly they were fighting like a married couple or a couple for that matter. They weren't yelling but they weren't talking in their normal voices either.

"Sting please".

"No".

"Sting".

"No".

"Fine ok how about this; one day we go to the beach together but not this day".

"We always do what you want".

"Not true".

"So true".

"Ok maybe it's true but not completely".

"See".

"Ok fine. The beach it is".

With that settled they got out of the cafe and into Sting's car again. They drove for a minute in silence. The window was down and the wind was blowing cooling the two but not really helping. Neither said a word to each other - they aren't really talking much are they - neither wanted to. Sting sighed and looked at the blonde next to him knowing that she was very very very upset that they had to go to the beach and he didn't or couldn't stand people being upset around him so he did what he had to do. Sting drove to his house got out of the car, Lucy staying behind of course, Sting opened his front door and went to change into his swim stuff, it was just like that Saturday not so long ago when Lucy had a pool party just because he wanted one.

Maybe we don't always do what Blondie wants, Sting thought locking the door for the second time today and got into his car driving to Lucy's house.

"I should be back in a few minutes", Lucy said getting out and Sting in tow, "You can wait in the car"

"Come to think of it, if the police find us at the beach they'll ask questions and that won't be good so I think it's better if we chill here at your place instead".

Lucy looked at him trying to figure out what he was getting at and why he all of a sudden decided on this but like many times before she failed to truly see his intentions and she honestly didn't care, she was done trying - probably a smart thing to do - instead she was going to wait for when he was ready to give up and just tell her.

Sting had an obvious reason for this but he didn't want her to see it, that maybe she could make him just about do anything for her - not that he minded but not like he didn't - and it sort of scared him, he didn't let anyone close - Laxus, Loke and Rogue were an exception and a long story - so why was he letting - ok not letting but also not letting - Lucy close, sure she wasn't close enough but she was close enough his standards and he didn't want to or even try to let her come close.

They entered her house and Lucy went up to change and came down in a full bathing suit which even though he hadn't known her for a long time, he just knew this was so out of her character. Lucy didn't feel any different though she felt like this was normal like she wore this all the time, true she would prefer a bikini but she felt too insecure to wear one around Sting.

"So a coke as usual or water?" Lucy asked going to the fringe.

"I'll have a cocktail," Sting joked peering over her shoulders "Water"

Lucy got it out and turned to hand it to him but dropped the bottle seeing as they were inches apart - not that she honestly didn't mind just a little bit taken back - surprisingly she didn't blush and Sting smirked at this - after all his shirt was long gone - seemed like she was getting used to his weird actions - of course they had purpose to them - this made him feel scared again though so he backed away.

"What Stingy?" Lucy teased, "Couldn't stand the heat"

"That's why we're here right," Sting said not moving, not offended, and not taking her beating.

Lucy took a step forward for once she had an advantage and she didn't want to let it slide.

"I mean can't take my heat," Lucy pressed on "Since I'm so hot".

"Arrogant much?" Sting commented.

"It rubbed off from you I guess" Lucy said.

"I noticed" Sting told her.

By now they were close to close to even see any space but not close enough to have anything touching unless they breathed in a lot. The sweat was trickling down his face - not the most attractive thing ever - Lucy noticed and for some reason though she would usually find it disgusting Sting made it look hot. That wasn't the only thing on his face she was looking at - she had so many other things she could look at honestly - not it wasn't the scar, no it wasn't his nose - who looks at noses - and not it wasn't his lips. It was his sky blue eyes that seemed to be reading her, guessing, watching and waiting for her to make a move.

"What are you planning Blondie?" Sting voice came in a whisper so deep so low that the next thing that happened didn't surprise the both of them.

It was hot, sweat and thirst was troubling them but their minds could think straight - at least I hope they could - so when they both started leaning in they couldn't blame the other for what was about to happened until half way there - to each other's lips that is - Sting stopped took a breathe and dodged her head so his head was on her right shoulders and he reached for another bottle of water.

Lucy went tomato red, angry and embarrassed at the same time and then the doorbell rang.
