Last time on was it Fate or Destiny?:
"What are you planning Blondie?" Sting voice came in a whisper so deep so low that the next thing that happened didn't surprise the both of them.
It was hot, sweat and thirst was troubling them but their minds could think straight - at least I hope they could - so when they both started leaning in they couldn't blame the other for what was about to happened until half way there - to each other's lips that is - Sting stopped took a breathe and dodged her head so his head was on her right shoulders and he reached for another bottle of water.
Lucy went tomato red, angry and embarrassed at the same time and then the doorbell rang.
Lucy walked towards the door trying her best to reduce the heat that was on her face. As she approached the door the doorbell rang again.
"I'm coming" Lucy said as she turned the doorknob
Sting was leaning against the kitchen doorframe taking a sip of his water as he watched who was at the door. When Lucy opened the door there stood a girl in a maid outfit and pink hair, she bowed to Lucy while Lucy smiled at her.
"Hime," The girl started "I have come to inform you that master invites you to a dinner." "Virgo!" Lucy said, angry forgotten replaced with glee "I'll give Rufus his invitation to. Thank you. Do you have time to stay?"
Virgo shock her head and handed the two invites to Lucy before she made her leave. Once she was out of sight, Lucy closed the door and sighed happily.
"Who was that?" Sting asked curious
"She works at the mansion" Lucy answer opening her invitation and reading it
Sting slugged as he went back into the kitchen, Lucy following in tow still reading the invite.
It's sweet of papa to invite us for a dinner to celebrate him living and to bring the family closer but who should be my plus one. Lucy thought
"You know you're dad's pretty cool," Sting said, "I think you should go and just sit and talk." "I guess but I'm allowed to bring someone," Lucy informed him putting the invite down
"Papa doesn't know a lot of my friend and I doubt anyone wants to skip Karaoke tomorrow" "Well your dad knows me and by the way he loves me so I can go." Sting told her
Sting wanted to go, maybe she lived a few miles away from Loke and he can see him and see how his doing. He wasn't much for Karaoke even if he agreed to go with Lucy he really wasn't into it.
"That would be nice I guess and papa already knows you so that would be prefect." Lucy agreed
Sting smiled at her for his own reasons but Lucy didn't know them and was lead to believe he was happy to be going with her so she smiled back and her heart beat got faster.
"How about we go for a swim?" Sting suggested, getting his towel and heading out
"I'll be right there." Lucy called as she ran upstairs to change into her bikini not feeling at all comfortable in her school swimming suit.
Sting sat there at the edge of the pool not wanting to go in yet but enjoying the feel of the cool water at his legs. He was thinking about what had just happened before the doorbell, he couldn't get it out of his mind. He could pretend it never happened but the memory would be there, forever burned into his mind.
Did I really want to kiss her? Was it just the heat in the room? Why did she have to go ahead and say all those annoying things? What did it mean? Oh for fucks sake I sound like a girl I should just get over it and not read into it at all. Sting decided to do that
"Are you going to get in or not?" Lucy asked as she stood behind him with her towel and sun cream.
"I was waiting for the sun cream so I can put it on, it's trebly hot and I don't want to go back to school the colour of an orange." Sting told her standing up and grabbing the sun cream
They moved to the lounge chairs and sat putting the sun cream between them. They started to put it on the areas they could reach and didn't say a word. Lucy mind was on the moment and Sting's was on the water, he was already missing the coolness.
"So you're going to help me with my back?" Lucy asked when he was done
"Do I really have a choice?" Sting joked He stood up and sat on the chair when Lucy turned on her front he started to put the sun cream on her back.
"You know you have to do this to me too" Sting told her
"I know," Lucy assured him "Just make sure you get every inch of uncovered skin"
"I've done this before," Sting reminded her "I know what's covered and what's not."
Lucy rolled her eye but Sting couldn't see but she could just know he was smirking. She let out a sigh once he was done. Sting sat on the chair while Lucy got up to start on him.
"What was that in the kitchen before the doorbell rang?" Lucy asked
"It was called teasing that was coming from you." Sting answered
"I'm talking about when our faces were close," Lucy whispered to embarrass to say it out loud "What was that?"
"An awkward moment," Sting answered standing up "I'm just glad things didn't get too awkward between us."
"I guess you're right." Lucy lied
Sting could see that she wasn't happy with his answer but what more could he give her that wasn't already said. He couldn't say he wished the moment never happened. Clearly she was happy it did and for reasons he still didn't understand about.
"Come on Luce let's get in the water." Sting tried but she didn't move He sighed at the confusing and difficult blonde before him and moved towards her again. He stretched out his hand and looked at her with pleading eyes – as much as he could – hoping she would give in and just forget about the whole thing. Lucy didn't look at him and he got annoyed.
"Fine be that way." Sting said pulling away his hand and grabbing both of her hands Lucy looked at him now out of her trance. She looked at him from his hair, to his eyes, to his scar, to his lips, to his six-pack and back at his lips again. She had a longing to just kiss them but was too afraid that it would be awkward so she looked away from them. Sting of course noticed this and stopped half way to the pool and stood there looking at her.
"Close your eyes." He commanded
She did, as he said not knowing what he was planning to do to her.
"Trust me." He told her his voice low and even
Sting grabbed her hands tighter and pulled her close. Embracing her, Lucy blushed but still kept her eyes closed. Sting smiled down at her before picking her up bridal style and walking with her close to him. Lucy still trusted him but was a bit scared about what he was going to do to her.
"Sting?" Lucy said "What are you planning?"
"Shh, just trust me" Sting whispered softly in her ear
Now they were at the edge of the pool. Sting still smiling and Lucy's eyes closed. Sting took a breath in and jumped with Lucy close to him just like before. Lucy screamed as she felt herself hit the water. Sting came up with her holding on tight like before and just laughed.
"You can open your eyes." Sting told her
"Baka!" Lucy yelled at him, letting go
Sting smiled at her and splashed her. Lucy smiled too and splashed him back. They were now having fun in the water. Lucy gave in these little giggles each time Sting splashed her and Sting just kept the smile on his face.
"You honestly think you're winning Blondie" Sting told her diving down and swimming towards her unnoticed
Lucy looked at where Sting once stood and was confused and at the same time sacred about what he might do this time. Sting was skilled swimmer no debut and he could see under water with just his eyes. He grabbed Lucy legs and pulled her down causing Lucy to scream and kick but he managed not to get kick in the face. Lucy saw it was Sting pulling her so she stopped kicking and swam to his level. Sting smirked even under water and Lucy rolled her eyes. Lucy smiled though and tapped him on his shoulder and swam away kicking her feet indicating they were playing tag now. Sting didn't hesitate to swim after her.
Sting went up for air while Lucy was already at the end of the pool and he was half way there. Lucy was a fast swimmer and Sting was still trying to catch her but he didn't care, he like a challenge and Lucy was a challenge.
Lucy liked it too. Not only was Sting failing at this a bit, he also looked hotter when he was swimming which to her was a bonus.
They had been swimming for an hour and it was lunch by now. They were just ignoring their hunger because they were having too much fun. Since they were at the back of the house they didn't know that Yukino and Rufus had entered the door.
"You're dad seems well," Yukino said to Rufus as she went into the kitchen "I think he's changed."
"I know but Lucy skipping school is just unbelievable," Rufus told her "I know that she probably has a good reason but why didn't she tell me."
"Maybe because you already have a lot on your plate and she's learning to count on other people." Yukino reasoned with him
Rufus understood and grabbed Yukino by the waist and gave her a deep, passionate kiss. They broke away because they had a scream from the backyard.
"Kya!" Lucy said once Sting finally caught her by surprise
"Told ya you can't win." Sting told her and swam away
Lucy went after him just as Yukino and Rufus came out of the house to find them playing. Rufus was about to yell but Yukino stopped him by letting out a small laugh.
"Remember when we ditched school that one time," Yukino said "you chased me all around the mall trying to spray me with your water gun because I was the only one left and you couldn't deal with the fact that I was better at aiming than you."
Rufus smiled at the memory and they just went back inside leaving the two to each other.
Sting heard what they had said but didn't stop running away from Lucy who had just reached him.
"Gave up," Lucy told him cornering him "we both know I'm faster"
"But I can hold my breath longer." Sting informed her and went down
Lucy slapped the water annoyed that he kept doing that and turned around to see if he had pooped up again. Sting stayed where he was – in front of her – he saw her turning and he came back up and hugged her from the back.
"I'm really hungry." he whispered into her ear, in a low and soft voice
That sent shivers down her spin and caused her to blush.
"Then let's have lunch." She managed to get out
Sting smiled, let go and got out of the pool grabbing his and Lucy's towel before waiting for her to get out as well. Lucy got out as well still surprised about how close they were and Sting was effected in anyway. He pressed against her, with his hands around her waist and his head on her chin. How can he not be fazed?
"Hurry up Luce!" Sting said as he was drying off his hair
"Yesh, I'm coming." Lucy told him
"Who cooked this?" Sting asked when he was done with his meal
"Rufus cooked the meat but I cooked the rice." Lucy told him
"It's really good." Sting told her and Rufus
"Thank you." Rufus and Sting said at the same time
They had all had lunch together since Sting and Lucy found Rufus and Yukino in the kitchen kissing but more like making out. Lucy was still scarred with the image but Sting just shrugged it off and didn't care.
"So you guys have a fun day?" Yukino asked
"Yeah!" Lucy said smiling "I had a blast because Sting was such a sweetheart and the mall was fun to just have a coffee and talk about anything."
"Good," Rufus said smiling at her "now you guys should go to school after lunch and a bath."
"Rufus!" Lucy whined "please can I just stay here the rest of the day and just chill in my room or down her with Sting."
"No," Yukino told her "you guys must go to school."
Rufus gave a look to Sting to ask him for help and Sting unlike Lucy understood why they wanted them at school. He sighed knowing that he had to try and get her out of the house and into school and they would have only missed half of their classes no biggy as long as they had a good lie for why.
"Come on Luce," Sting said putting his plate away "take a bath, change and let's go. Everyone must be worried about what happened to us."
Lucy though about it for a while and agreed. She stood up and went upstairs to change.
"You guys have fun now." Sting told them smirking and winking at Rufus before leaving them there to blush like crazy
Lucy and Sting were walking towards the school gates. Lucy was panicking and Sting was just walking not giving a real care about them having to explain everything.
"Sting let's just chill at your place" Lucy pleaded again
"No, I promised your bother that we would be going to school" Sting told her again
"Just this once," Lucy begged "It's not like you want to go either
Sting thought about it. It was true he really wasn't looking forward to going back to school just for half the day. He would rather just hang at the house and watch a few movies.
"Ok let's go but only this once" Sting gave in and they turned around
They walked the other way avoiding Lucy's house just in case Rufus saw them walk by – not that he would be able to – they wanted to be sure. They walked side by side talking about everything.
Lucy found it nice that they could do this without any weird pauses between each other, she felt like it was so naturally and she liked it. Sting was an easy person to talk to and that just made her fall even harder.
Sting was surprised but not surprised at the same time that he was actually having fun with the blonde next to him. She just had this thing about her that he knew was happiness and peace that he felt relaxed and easy.
"Oh, let's enter the park" Lucy yelled grabbing his hand and sprinting in
She dragged him along the glass with a smiled on her face until she tripped over a rock and landed on her back. Sting on top of her not knowing what was going on.
"Sorry." Lucy managed to say in their awkward position
"It's ok," Sting said getting up and checking his pockets "my phones gone!"
Sting stood up shocked and checked his pockets over again, Lucy stood up to checking her pockets, relieved that her phone was still there and started looking for his as well.
"Maybe it fell over the cliff over here." Lucy said looking at the edge
"No!" Sting screamed running to the edge but he didn't stop fast enough.
Luckily for him, there was a Deep Lake below that he landed in. Lucy watched in horror trying to check if he would come back up again and when he did he looked up and yelled.
"Lucy call someone for help" Sting yelled to her
"Ok, just stay put" Lucy yelled back
Just as she was about to turn, her feet miss placed and she went down the cliff as well.
