Hello everybody, this story is now starting back up. A big thank you to the kind members of this site who wrote a review for my first chapter, it filled me with confidence and as a reward for that review, I will resume publishing as many chapters of this as I can, given I start UNI in 7 months. I'm hoping this can be continuous, fingers crossed. This chapter gives an exclusive look into the life Dan-Li is striving to bring to Asia and the strength in Dan-Li's young force.

The Strength Of The People:

It has been 3 days since Dan-Li and Lu Xun became blood brothers.

Lu Xun had spent a lot of time healing and although he vowed to be apart of Dan-Li's new kingdom, Lu Xun was officially, still apart of the Wu Kingdom. Once word of his defection, would eventually get out, the lands were sure to shake up...

On the road, as Lu Xun followed his new commander via horseback to the next great battle, worry hung over the young general's head.

"Master Dan-Li?" Lu Xun opened.

"Yes?"The reply.

"It's about Wu. Although I will ride with you into whatever fate the world has for us, I have not told any of my superiors, nor the royal family of my defection. I do not think Master Sun Quan will accept it..." he said glumly.

Dan Li nodded.

"If you'd like, I can meet with your former superiors."

Lu Xun went as white as a sheet.

"WHAT?! They'll kill you for having such a notion."

Dan Li then stopped his horse and looked Lu Xun dead in the eyes. Lu Xun, stunned by his new brother's powerful gaze and demeanor. It is said that a few in Asia possessed an aura that could be seen and felt to overwhelm opposition. Guan Yu of Shu, Zhang Fei of Shu, Zhao Yun of Shu, Zhao Tai of Wu, Zhang Liao of the Lu Bu Forces and of course, Lu Bu, all possessed this presence, the latter being the most potent.

And yet, Lu Xun felt a strong presence, maybe even as strong as Lu Bu's, but there was an heir of serenity, grace and power about it. It was not demonic like the tyrant's.

"Here me brother..." Dan Li began. "If Wu is as just, as you have been telling me, they will "see" me."

And with that, Lu Xun remained silent for the next few hours, by the time he felt compelled to speak, it was already nightfall and camp had been set up.

Around the campfire...

Lu Xun sat a little away from the glaring eyes of Dan Li's soldiers, he watched the blaze of the fire roar up from time to time. It would spit occasionally, but the fire was on the whole, humble. It reminded him of home. His young bride would touch his face and cover his eyes when the sun light threatened to blind him, every morning. They would share a tender kiss, as they sat by the lake of their home. These thoughts and those glares, cause Lu Xun to worry...

*Tap Tap*

He turned to his life saver medic, Li-Feng. Startled by his new comrade's terrifying blood red eyes, he gasped.

"No need for fear friend." Was the reply from the mysterious medic. "Do not fear my eyes, only those who oppose my Lord, should fear those eyes..."

Lu Xun nodded.

"Do not worry about "them"." The medic continued as if psychic. "They are nothing like our leader. Many of them, are former bandits, pirates, samurai, thieves and mercenaries."

Lu Xun gasped. "What...?! You can't be serious."

Li-Feng smiled. "It's not what you think though, Dan-Li did not recruit them, they recruited him. I am 10 years Dan Li's senior and had been the medic for these mindless, powerful, rogues for years... Tell me young general, would you like to hear of our master's... ascension?"

Lu Xun was taken back by how much loyalty Dan-Li had inspired in his senior to make him speak such words.

"Yes, I wish to know more of my brother."

Li-Feng nodded. "Gather children of Asia, I shall tell a tale of our Master and Brother..."

(FLASHBACK):

Dan Li was the apprentice of a fabled pirate swordsman. Known only as Tai. He served under a powerful native and former soldier of Meng Huo. That man's name was Gordo, The Animal King. Such a name was given because of his ability to control animals of any size. He wasn't their dictator though, upon meeting, animals would follow Gordo blindly and faithfully into battle.

Gordo was attempting to create his own kingdom and Tai followed him, as his blood brother, even though many wished to acquire Tai because of his strength and will in combat.

From the age he was found, (5), Gordo and Tai trained and raised Dan Li as their own. Every day, the boy grew stronger and faster. Tai taught him how to be quick and powerful, while Gordo taught him how to survive and be one with nature.

Upon his 15th birthday, Dan Li had become hot property. Word spread, that Dan Li had bested Tai in a duel and scouts, politicians and even paid mercenaries were sent to acquire the youthful prodigy, before the major kingdoms could hear of him.

Knowing of this, Tai should have sent Dan Li away, but he did not.

Tai was always wary of (Gordo's brother) Raymondo's darkness and after seeing him a morning after he returned from a "Business" trip. All he needed to see was a smile on his face, to know something was wrong.

With that, he sent Dan Li from his side and into the world. Perishing with a smile on his face, as he knew, Dan Li was destined for greatness...

Dan Li did not know where to go, but he always walked north because he came from a place far beyond the mountains in the north. It earned him the name, 'The Northern Wolf'.

He wandered until he saw a battle he deemed suitable to take part in. He was not battle hungry, he just knew that his skills would be needed to quell the chaos of Asia.

Dan Li had found refuge in the lands, he would eventually call his own when he came of age. These lands belonged to a Bandit Lord, called Gai-Nun. The lands Dan Li had found, were mostly farmlands and were rarely pillaged because of it's Lord's power. Once he entered these farmlands, he collapsed from total exhaustion and was found by a blind cloth maker. She was taken by Dan Li's presence, which alerted her from her daily duties.

Her mute younger brother helped her take care of Dan Li. Upon his wake up, he was shocked to meet the pair, who were like him. They were illegitimate children to powerful Lords, who only discarded them because of their disabilities. The woman was maybe in her 30s, it was hard to tell for Dan Li cause her eyes were either covered with a cloth or closed most of the time. He found out her name was Mai and her younger brother, at the tender age of around 7, was called Han.

For months, Dan Li stayed with the pair. Growing particularly fond of Mai and growing a brotherly love for Han. Every night, he practices his skills when everyone slept. As a promise to his former teacher.

Eventually, Dan Li fell for Mai and even though she was twice his age, they became intimate by his 17th birthday. Dan Li promised to marry her when he had quelled the chaos and Asia was finally free, but fate seemed to intervene...

Dan Li had returned from his annual hike to the Northern mountains where he would disappear for a week and return. No one could find him once he entered the mountains and those who tried to follow him, never returned...

When he had returned, Mai was found dead in her place of work and a note on her corpse was left on it.

It read: "To the Northern Wolf. I have abducted the child. He will train with me and be my heir. If you wish for his return, challenge me..."

Dan Li was ready to avenge his love and save his brother but then he turned the note over and it bared a symbol. A symbol he wished he never found... The mark of Lu Bu...

Dan Li enraged ran north, he ran north until... he saw a battle ensue. He had to unleash his grief...

Dan Li was spotted by Li-Feng during his Lord Gai-Nun's skirmish against Zhang Liao's unit. Gai lacked purpose, ambition and although powerful, he lacked leadership...

Gai-Nun was wounded badly and surrounded by 100 men. Li-Feng fought hard to reach his Lord, but he was just so far away and the enemies just kept coming. When all hope seemed lost, Dan Li surfaced. His head down, never showing eyes. Teeth bared, a growl coming from his chest. He launched, smelling the evil off his targets...

It is said that Gai-Nun's son had a fatal heart attack after witnessing Dan Li wield his sword. It was a massacre. Dan Li tore every enemy near Gai-Nun to pieces. Never had anyone seen such horrifying bloodshed, from a boy...

After the enemy had fled, witnessing Dan Li's power, Gai Nun took him in. He told him that if he wanted Asia to be free, he should never wield his sword again and take up new arms. With that, as he came of age, he kept his present from Tai sheathed at all times, but used twin trishulas in it's stead. He was a lot faster with them. Yet he stated, at Gai Nun's son's funeral, he would use his sword one more time, no one knows when...

Dan Li's speed is what attracted Gai-Nun in his conquest for power. During the massacre of Tao Ban, where Dan Li showed the world his anger and swordsmanship, he showed infinite stamina and speed as he dodged countless arrows and enemy strikes, leaving 120 dead, himself, barely wounded...

As Dan Li came of age, he matured, his silver hair went grey as he turned 20 and Gai Nun relinquished his power to Dan Li. He showed serenity, grace and great leadership as the leader of this nation. What he also showed as well, was unbeaten leadership and kindness. Although the people gladly gave him taxes and donations to his war efforts and living, he continually gave back to the people. Helping with projects, missions, rescues and he even attempted farming, before he became sick...

Dan Li has not told his men to this day that his life is short, only Li Feng knows and until Asia is free, that is how things must stay...

Flashback END)

"Wow..." Lu Xun uttered.

"Lu Xun, you must get your rest, tomorrow's battle will be another tough one.." Dan Li said behind the seated pair.

Lu Xun jumping up.

"My lord... I was just hearing of your exploits."

Dan Li nodded.

"That is fine, please, rest. You are not used to are combat style. Come, I will show you to your tent." Dan Li then ushered Lu Xun to stroll with him.

"That was an intense history, I'm surprised you fought the Zhang Liao Forces alone, I would never do that. I doubt Li-Feng would do that unless you asked." Lu Xun said with an attempt at humour.

"Do not think lightly of Li-Feng... He is more dangerous than you could ever imagine... He has killed hundreds in his life and chose medicine in the hope of atoning for his sins..." Dan Li started.

"I don't believe it, he seems like such a nice guy, bar the scary eyes... What kind of lineage would cause such chaos...?" Lu Xun queried.

"How about being the illegitimate son of Dong Zhuo...?"

Lu Xun stood in shock for 10 whole minutes... then went to bed. For the battle the next day, was going to be a struggle...
