AND, We are back for the second helping of the battle on the deadly, Lonely Mountain. Dan Li and Lu Xun are now faced with a rather intriguing enemy. Let's see how they get on... (Sorry about the mixup of Chapter and Episode, that was a mistake, hahaha.)
Episode 4: Battle On The Lonely Mountain Pt 2:
Before anyone could speak,
Kakaze breathed fire upon the ground in front of him, near Dan Li and within seconds, the "missed" detonated bombs were re-lit and about to blow.
"MY LORD!" Lu Xun yelled.
He unsheathed his twin swords and with all of his might tried to get to Dan Li with great speed, but then...
BOOM.
A Huge explosion consumed the entire area...
Lu Xun was thrown backwards by the shock of the blast, as the area was covered in a massive cloud of smoke after the explosion. He immediately raised to his feet and began yelling for Dan Li. His ears ringing painfully.
"MY LORD?! Ack." He continued to spin round and round, holding his ears, trying to see if he could make out any shadows. "Please answer me! My Lord!" he yelled.
The dust started to slowly disappear...
"That's...Impossible..." Kakaze's trembling voice could be heard.
"My Lord!?" Lu Xun yelled again.
The dust continued to subside and Lu Xun could see two body shapes. One was holding their side, the other was holding their face. Constant worry hung over Lu Xun's head as he continually looked between both shapes.
"How did you survive...?" Kakaze's voice spoke again.
The dust continued to disperse until eventually, the two combatants were now seen.
Lu Xun's eyes going wide with shock. Dan Li was holding his face, Kakaze was holding his side...
"MY...Lord.." Lu Xun's voice trembled. Dan Li's hand was covered in blood that continued to run down his face.
"I wasn't fast enough..." Dan Li began. "However... I had to make a point."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!" Kakaze roared. His side bleeding greatly...
"I had to decide whether to honor you or open your eyes. I hope I have done both." Dan Li replied.
Kakaze fell to his knees, he then coughed blood. The flames on his back were slowly disappearing.
"Honor...me...?" He asked.
"Your life...was mine to take. I couldn't stop the explosion and take you, but I could have taken you with me." Dan Li added.
He then approached Kakaze and was now once again, standing over him.
"Kakaze Jet..." He began.
Kakaze looked up at Dan Li.
"I will ask you one more time. No matter how much pain I will go through, going against my beliefs to follow suit of the law... This...is... your last chance. Yield and I will not kill you." Dan Li said with bass in his voice and his presence oozing out.
Kakaze continued to look into Dan Li's piercing eyes...
"What happens...if I yield... I.." Kakaze holds in a whimper. "Become a prisoner again..?"
Lu Xun put his hand to his mouth. He finally understood how Kakaze became who he was. He started off... a slave, kept as prisoner from a young age, who didn't know any better and if it weren't for his potential and blood, he would never have left his cell, even as a boy...
Dan Li breathed in deep then slowly took his hand from his face. A massive scar was left behind from the blast.
"No Kakaze. If you yield and offer yourself to my Kingdom, I will honor you and you will never be a prisoner again."
Kakaze fought hard to not cry, yet he found himself following to the ground in an apologetic bow.
Lu Xun continued to look at Dan Li in amazement. Although a deadly presence in battle, his compassion and love for people was a surprising and refreshing dimension of his. He gave off a feel of true benevolence, grace and serenity...
Kakaze lifted his head over so slightly and looked back at Dan Li.
"I ...Yield..." Kakaze was now upright, on his knees. "I pledge myself...to your teachings..."
Dan Li bowed to Kakaze.
But before he could go to help him stand... Dan Li's ears twitched again...
The area became quiet, too quiet. Then a whistling could be heard...
An eerie whistling...
Dan Li's eyes continued to go back and forth, watching the trees...
Then... the whistling stopped.
"My..Lord..?" Lu Xun said curiously. He too, heard the whistling.
"Kakaze!" Dan Li yelled sensing movement behind Kakaze, before springing forward.
He blurred to Kakaze but was too late.
"GACK-!"
A Sickle attached to a chain had slashed Kakaze in the back!
"AHHHHHHH!" He screamed.
Lu Xun went wide eyed, his eyes twitching in shock.
Kakaze's blood filled the sky...
Dan Li watched as Kakaze fell onto his face, no longer moving...
He then said "Lu Xun... watch over him." Then stood over Kakaze and faced the trees of the forest.
"I don't know who you are, but for harming those of my kingdom, is a very dangerous move..." He said, with a growl coming from his chest.
Lu Xun began to bandage up Kakaze, but he was so unresponsive, was he dead...?
"It has taken me a long time to find you...Northern Wolf." A voice said from the shadows.
"How long will you continue to hide from me." Dan Li replied.
"A frustrated animal, is a dead animal. If I frustrate the wolf long enough, he goes from the hunter, to the hunted..." The voice stated.
"True. Then you will be waiting a long time. I can tell by your presence. You've killed hundreds and most of them weren't armed." Dan Li replied in disgust.
"You can tell that by my voice...?" The voice asked in mild shock.
"No... but by your reply." Dan Li said with a grimace.
"You are cunning... unexpected." The voice added.
"I will give you until the count of three and if I have to go into the shadows, I will kill you." Dan Li barked.
"Hmph. A bold statement. This is my domain, the darkness. You have no power here." The voice replied boldly.
Dan Li looked behind him for a second at Lu Xun and then Kakaze. Kakaze's flames were completely gone. His face was more lifeless and pale and the bleeding just wouldn't stop...
With a grimace as he looked forward, Dan Li began to take off his robes and was left with his bare chest showing. It was incredibly defined and covered in scars and tribal markings as far as the eye could see.
"You are...native...?" Lu Xun asked.
"I am not ready to tell my story. I am baring my chest as a sign of surrender. I offer myself to your leader." Dan Li said with a calm face.
Lu Xun almost jumped out of his skin. "MY-MY-MY LORD!? WHAT?!"
"I and I alone, offer myself. Kakaze is dying, I will not forgive myself if he dies." Dan Li continued.
Then the voice finally showed itself. A ninja dressed in armour walked towards Dan Li from out of the shadows.
"On your knees." The voice said. The ninja's piercing light yellow eyes were slamming into Dan Li's platinum ones.
"My Lord...no." Lu Xun said with a tremble in his voice.
Dan Li spoke as he lowered to his knees. "Lu Xun... when you become a leader...your people become your children...and you would die...for those children..."
The ninja walked behind Dan Li.
"Now... hands behind your head." He ordered.
Dan Li did as requested, his face showing no signs of sadness or anger. Complete peace.
His arms were bound behind his back now and he was pulled to his feet. Kakaze regained consciousness and saw Dan Li being taken away as prisoner. He instantly remembered Dan Li's words..
"You will never be a prisoner again..."
He shed tears while Lu Xun bandaged him...
(Elsewhere...)
Li Feng was almost at the enemy main camp when an arrow flew across his face, catching the middle of his nose.
"Tch." Was his reply.
As if slow motion, hundreds of arrows passed him and began to barrage his unit. By the time Li Feng got off his horse, he was...alone.
The archers had surrounded Li Feng and he was now in trouble.
"Kwan Li Feng."
Li Feng turned to the person in charge of the archers...
"You..." he murmured in disbelief.
"Yes... Welcome 'Cannibal Feng', to my domain." said the green haired beauty.
Li Feng looked to the ground...
"I gave up that name..." he murmured.
"But the families of those you've killed haven't! Do not think, even if you ride into battle with a Just Man, you can atone for your sins. You are too vile of a creature to employ, even for me. I see no fitting punishment for you than being a gift, for Dong Zhuo." she continued.
Li Feng's piercing red eyes twitched with fear.
