Chapter 31
Time
Our whole world revolves around time when you think about it. Everything takes time; every important thing in our lives takes time. Nothing just happens and even though some things happen in seconds, seconds are still time. The thing with time though is it seems long and endless but it's short in reality. I mean when you're 12 you're like 'I'm so young', then you hit 14 and you're like 'I only have 2 years left before I'm 16. Where did my life go?' Time's really important so we should spend it wisely and not mess it up.

Last time on; Was it Fate or Destiny?:
So she just fell to the ground and let herself cry over the loss of Sting. Levy got down and brought her close but it didn't feel the same. It only made Lucy want Sting more and it only made her cry harder for the blonde.
"You know what makes this worse?" Lucy asked Levy
"What?" Levy replied wanting to know
"I love him Levy, I'm completely and utterly in love with Sting." Lucy told her
~ With Sting ~
"I kissed her at my mum's grave, it felt right." Sting told them
"How right did it feel?" Meredy asked smiling a little
"It made me smile and I forgot about my troubles." Sting confessed something he didn't want to admit

Lucy sat on her bed looking at the bridesmaid dress she was supposed to be wearing in 2 hours. She couldn't get over the fact that the dress was a sea blue colour. The colour of Sting's eyes and she remembered what Yukino said.
**Flashback**
"Why this colour?" Lucy asked when Yukino handed the dress to her smiling happily. Lucy on the other hand was trying to pushing Sting away from her mind. Something she has failed to do all week.
"I just looked at the colour once and I knew I was in love with it," Yukino told her "Rufus was wearing the same coloured shirt when we meet as well. The colour reminds me over our first meeting."
**Flashback End**
Yukino was right Lucy know that now. It's hard not to fall in love with the colour. It was hard for her not to fall in love with Sting but it wasn't his eyes, though they were part of it too. It was everything about him, the good, the bad and the scary. Lucy loved them all and that sort of scared her.
~With Sting~
Sting entered the Heartfilia house knowing that after a week he would have to face Lucy now. He wanted to see her; he wanted answers because the time they spent apart with the words said. He had had a realization of fact and truth. Sting was missing the blonde more than he liked, he was starting to have feelings more than friendship. He couldn't ignore that fact anymore.
"Sting, glad you could make it." Juda said shaking his hand after he had shock Loke's fathers
"Glad to be here Jude," Sting said smiling and walking more into the house. "Do you happen to know where Lucy is?"
"She should be upstairs in her room, you'll find it easily it has a sun on it." Jude replied greeting more guests.
Loke and Meredy looked at Sting. Sting pointed with his head towards the living room where, Levy, Cana, Lisanna, Rogue, Gajeel and Natsu were. They hadn't noticed Sting yet but he wasn't taking risks. He wasn't going to be interrupted by them. If what Rogue said was true then Lucy was having daily check-ups from at least one of them every 15 minutes.
Loke and Meredy got the hint and entered the living room, ready to be the distraction for Sting. Knowing that it was what he wanted after clear confusion the whole week. It was the least that they could do. Sting gave a smile before rushing past the now living room closing door and making his way up stairs. Looking for the door with a sun on it.
~With Lucy~
Lucy now laying on her bed looking up. She wanted to be happy on her brother's special day but a certain blonde kept invading her thoughts. She didn't mind it but she wished it would stop just so she could put on her dress and be the bridesmaid she was meant to be. She heard the door open and she didn't even bother looking up. She thought it was Levy coming in to check on her.
Letting out a sigh she said "I know I should be changed by now but I can't ok," She ran her hands through her hair in frustration "It's just the colour of the dress. It's the same colour as his eyes and I feel like it's a constant reminder that I fucked up big time."
Lucy closed her eyes waiting for who she thought was Levy to speak, to give her opinion on what she should do. To say anything that could let her be at ease. Hearing nothing didn't stop her from going on.
"I sound so stupid saying that in the few short days I knew Sting, I fell in love with him. I want to apologize, tell him that I was stupid and scared. Explain that I wasn't scared of what he would do. I was scared because I read what he did and it got me excited because there is so much I don't know. I want to know more about him."
Lucy sat up realizing what she had just said. "You don't even know what he did but that's not the point. The point is I fucked up and he hates me now." She said running her hands through her hair again before turning to face Levy and was shocked to find none other than Sting.
Sting stayed expressionless while Lucy looked at him wondering if she was imagining him. She blinked, once, twice and a third time and even pinched only to come to the conclusion that Sting was right in front of her and he heard everything. Realizing this Lucy blushed.
Sting stayed expressionless as he looked at Lucy, taking in what she had told him and he slowly walked forward to her. He didn't know what he was going to say but just like the time in the graveyard his body did whatever it wanted. Except this time Sting was grateful for its lead. Once he was right in front of the bed he sat on it never breaking eye contact with Lucy. Lucy who had found it hard to breathe.
"What would you do if he gave you a chance to explain?" Sting asked
"I would, I wouldn't say anything," Lucy replied "I would just kiss him."
"Why?" Sting asked
"Actions speak louder than words," Lucy told him "In the kiss I would put the apology and the passion into it, making sure not to miss anything."
Sting nodded and Lucy blushed harder looking away from Sting and at her hands. Sting kept his eyes on her and reached out to left her chin. He had come to a decision. He leaned in and brought their foreheads together. He could feel her body heat.
"I have to think about it a bit more but," He told her and proceed to kiss her forehead before going on "I missed more than I should have."
Lucy gave a small smile trying to make sure she didn't cry, in both happiness and sadness. Happiness because he had missed her. Sadness because he hadn't kissed her. Sting got off the bed and made his way to the door. He was conflicted at the most and he needed to clear his head.
~ Outside Lucy's door ~
Sting closed the door behind him and sunk to the ground angry and confused. He should have kissed her and he knew it but he couldn't bring himself to do what he had been craving to do the whole week. He missed Lucy more than he wanted to believe but he had come to terms with it and he knew what he was going to do today. He just never expected her to go one about him like that. To say all the things that he sort of wanted to say. To admit that she had fallen for him, something he always thought impossible. He wasn't loveable in his eyes so why was he in hers.
Footsteps could be heard walking down the hall but Sting didn't feel bothered to get up and disappear before whoever it was found him. His mind was filled with thoughts. He didn't notice that it was Meredy walking to him. He didn't even turn to her when she sat down next to him.
"How'd it go?" She asked after a few minutes
"She loves me, she forgives me and she missed me," Sting replied looking at Meredy now. "What am I supposed to do to that? The only person that ever loved me is died."
Meredy let out a breath of frustration. Sting was one of the smartest people she knew but when it came to accept things for what they were he was the dumbest person ever. It was one of the many things that she loved about him. So when she slapped the back of his head, it was out of love.
"Baka! You don't have all the time in the world to think about this," She told him "I want you to say it out loud."
"Say what out loud?" Sting asked
"Say that Lucy loves you, scream it from the rooftops." Meredy told him
"What's that going to do?" Sting asked
"Knock some sense into you hopefully," Meredy said raising her voice "maybe admitting to yourself that someone loves you will finally show you who loves you. Maybe you'll realize that there are so many people that care about you."
"You mean people like you," Sting said looking away from her but not failing to see her expression of shock "I know Meredy, I've always known. I just couldn't lose you as a friend. I love you too much for that."
"You love me but not in that way," Meredy said looking at the door behind her "Lucy's a lucky girl, so stop making her wait any longer."
Sting thought about it and turned to his best friend, giving her one of his true smiles before kissing her forehead. Meredy smiled back and stood up stepping away from the door. She knew that this day would come, she just doesn't want him to forget her and never come back home. She didn't want to lose him too.
"Hurry up before I take you for myself." Meredy joked knocking on her door before walking away.
Sting watched her retreating figure smiling, he knew she was right. He also knew that she was only half joking about that. He waited for Lucy to open the door, he could hear her making her way over with the way her heels hit the ground. The sound usually annoyed him but somehow Lucy made it sound tolerable. When the sounds stopped he knew she was opening the door. Sting stood still waiting for the door to open and to face Lucy, his mind made up.
Lucy opened the door to see Sting again, she was already dressed in her dress but she noticed that his eyes were differently brighter than the dress. Lucy stood there just looking at them and Sting checked her out, not surprised at her beauty.
"Time a tricky thing," Sting told her "See I thought with the time a part I would forget how you made me cared for a vulnerable. I thought that I would forget you that I wouldn't miss you. I thought with time I would come to hate you. Hate you with a passion so big it consumed me."
"Did you manage?" Lucy asked afraid
"I managed to do one thing, I managed to love you with a passion. Not a passion so big that it consumed be but a passion so big that it scared me," Sting admitted "I was scared because I've never felt that way towards a person. I love you Lucy."
Lucy didn't even get time to speak, Sting had already pulled her closer to him by her waist and was staring into her eyes. She didn't want to talk anymore so she waited for what she knew was sure to come. Sting leaned in closer and so did she.
"I think this is going to be our first romantic kiss." Sting teased and Lucy rolled her eyes before bringing her lips to his. Sting kissed back bring her closer and Lucy's hands went to his neck.
It was what she wanted, what she waited for and she loved every minute of it, today was a happy day. She smiled into the kiss and allowed him entrance to explore her mouth.
