A/N: so no reviews at all last chapter, so I'll just assume I'm the best writer of all time and you all were too stunned to tell me about it. Right. Anyway, short chapter because I have this part of the next chapter done and I don't know when I'll get to write the rest. So enjoy the 500 words I'm giving you.

Anyways, on with the story.

The middle of the night is weird thing. Some love it, some hate it. Some find it beautiful, some find it the epitome of bleak. However, that isn't why it is important now. It's important now because that's the time that Tsunami and Kaiza decided to have a talk that had been brewing for a while. Absolutely no thought on the majestic sight of the full moon or on the noises of the crickets and frogs.

Tsunami blinked as she processed what her husband, Kaiza, told her. "What?" Was all she could manage to say. This was even more surprising then the time he had brought the kid, Naruto, into their home for a place to stay.

Kaiza nodded resolutely. "I have to. No one else will stand up to him and it's destroying wave."

Tsunami sat down at the kitchen table as she tried to think through what he wanted to do. "But what about Inari? Or Naruto? Both of them look up to you and couldn't stand it if you died."

Kaiza gave her a wry smile as he sat down next to her and took her hand. "Then I guess I'll just have to not die."

Tsunami pulled her hand out of his grip and slapped him. Hard.

Silence descended on the two and Kaiza's cheek turned red.

Tsunami, truly not wanting Kaiza to go, didn't let the weakness in silence carry on for too long though.

"You can't do this. You can't leave your family!" She said, starting out weak willed and ending with determination behind her voice.

"Except I'm not!" Kaiza yelled back. "Except I'm not." He repeated, though at a lower volume this time as to not wake anyone else in the house up. "I'm not gonna leave anyone. I'm just gonna confront Gato and everything will go back to normal."

"It won't work. Haven't you seen the monster? He does what he wants, and some no name civilian isn't going to stop him." Tsunami tried to explain as she started to cry. "You can't go. You can't go and leave me and Inari and Naruto. Not after everything you've promised."

Kaiza didn't know what to do at this point. He didn't want to make Tsunami cry, but he couldn't just let Gato rule wave with his money. He couldn't let the people down, not after all the faith they placed in him to be 'Wave's Protector'. Kaiza sighed. There was truly only one thing to do at times like this.

"Fine Tsunami. I won't go. I won't leave you. I won't hurt you. I won't hurt my family. I promise." Kaiza said as he wrapped her in a hug. His words relieved her, but didn't stop her tears.

"T-thank you Kaiza." She whispered into his shoulder between sobs. "Please d-don't ever think about leaving us again."

"Don't worry Tsunami." He pulled away from the hug a little to look her in the eyes. "I would never leave you." He finished with what he hoped was a reassuring smile.

However Tsunami just nodded her head at what he said while pulling him back into the hug, she wasn't completely done crying just yet.

A little while later, after Tsunami and Kaiza had headed to bed, Kaiza lay awake thinking about what he did. He hated what he was going to do, but there was really no other option.

Kaiza sighed as he rolled over in an attempt to get more comfortable.

'Sometimes, you just have to lie.' Was his last thought before sleep came to him.
