Chapter 43
"It's time..." Kaname says still holding me in his arms. I tighten my hold on his shirt for a few seconds before loosing them.
'No... I don't want you to leave Kaname, because if you do...' I thought.
'Victoria!' I can hear Kaoru's voice inside my head. 'Victoria, you knew this was going to happen sooner or later. You need to keep moving this story.' I closed my eyes a little and open them again.
"Are you going out somewhere...?" I asked.
"Yeah... I'm leaving..." Kaname replies. He looks at me putting on of his hands on my cheek. I can see the hesitation in Kaname's eyes as he moves closer to me, his forehead on mine.
"Kaname...?" I can feel my heart tighten and the tears are starting to build up. "...Please... don't go out today..."
'Please... not now...not now...' I thought feeling the tears building up even more. I put my arms around Kaname's neck. "Read me a story just like old times when we were children. Stay by my side, snuggling together. Drink the only blood you like." Kaname grabbed my hand that was around his neck to put my index finger on his lips. "After all, it seems you've been strongly craving my blood..." Kaname put my hand to my side and kissed my forehead.
"If you are good and wait for me, I will do what you ask." Kaname says."I'll ask you to please watch over the house while I'm away...Thank you." I look up at him and put my hand over his hand to put his hand back to his side. "...There were some things I was thinking of doing about which I had already made a decision. However, once it came time, some kind of hesitation was born within me. And little by little, this uncertainty became stronger... Please, you... don't hesitate." I can see the bats that are flying out of Kaname's body slowly walking out, his appearance no longer there. When the bats were all gone, I can feel myself tear up and the tears slowly fall down to my cheeks.
'Liar... even though I knew... it still hurts.' I knelled down on my the floor accepting the tears running down. 'Kaname-onii-sama...' I can hear the doors slam open to reveal Yuuki, Kaoru, and Mimi.
"Victoria, are you okay?! Why are you crying?!" Yuuki ask concern. I look at Yuuki to see her so concern oblivious to know what is going to happen next.
'That's right. Yuuki doesn't know anything at all. I need to stop acting like child, and be the big sister this time.' I stand up, whipping the tears from my cheek to give a reassuring smile to Yuuki.
"Sorry, Onee-sama. I'm okay. Kaname-onii-sama head out and I... want to follow him." I replied. I looked up at Kaoru and Mimi and nodded my head.
"What, wait why?!" Yuuki ask. I grabbed my boots, coat, and something warm to wear. I grabbed Yuuki's coat and coat to throw at her. She catch it easily, while I grabbed our purse.
"Because... you need to know what Kaname-onii-sama is planning." I replied.
"Planning?" Yuuki says. I nodded my head to look at her to see her have her coat, boots and her purse around her. I walked out of the doors with Kaoru and Mimi to my sides, Yuuki was behind me confused.
"I'm sorry. I can't tell you yet. Onee-sama... I need to stop acting like I don't know anymore." I replied. Yuuki looked at me even more confused and eyes widen. "This time, I'm going to be the responsible one, okay?" I walked forward for her try and catch up to us.
"You are being to hard Yuuki-sama. You didn't tell Kaname-sama that you knew his plan, and now your not even tell her. She is your sister and she is the one that is going to get hurt too." Mimi says quietly by my side.
"No, she is the only one that is going to get hurt more than I am. So that is why, I will use my powers to help her. It's time, I need to change this story yet continue it as well. We ran up with Kaien Cross and his partner, I think, on a big tree. Yuuki was screaming at Kaien to hurry up and pointing at the way. I was siting calmly with Kaoru and Mimi by my side.
'I'm sorry Onee-sama. I should have told you why we have to hurry. But I don't want to hurt you, instead I want you to see it with your own eyes.' I had a smirk on my face.
"Mimi, Kaoru. Am I being cruel to my own sister?" Kaoru and Mimi looked at each other then looked back at me.
"No, you are just doing what you think is right." Kaoru replied. I nodded my head in understanding.
"They ran away from home, then they hijacks a prison car?" Aidou's says sighing. I chuckled remembering how Yuuki and I was in front of the car asking them for us to go with them.
"Yuuki, Victoria, the Hanadagi family's ancestral home is over there, in that direction. Hasn't Kaname-kun told you anything?" Kaien ask. Yuuki looked at me, but I only looked down.
"No..." I answered. I can feel Mimi and Kaoru shiver after the next second. I eyes them suspiciously. "Hanadagi..." My voice was quiet as they nodded their head. 'Lord Hanadagi is dead.' I stand up and was in front of the door.
"Victoria?" Yuuki says concern.
"It's time." I said loud enough for them to hear.
"Yes, Victoria-sama." Kaoru and Mimi replied. The door open with out Kaien or the other driver to open the door. I grabbed Yuuki's wrist and pulled her to Hanadagi mansion.
'Onee-sama, please, whatever you see. Don't be afraid. Don't feel weak. I know you are still in love with Kaname-onii-sama, so... so... please.' I thought. We entered the mansion to see Kaname rise his sword to Lord Aidou's neck cutting his head off. Lord Aidou's body was to dust. Everyone's eyes were wide except for me, Kaoru, and Mimi. I noticed Yuuki trembling as I let go of her wrist.
"Father..." Aidou said silently, but loud enough for us to hear him. "FATHER, WHAT... FATHER!" I looked away and scoot back for Yuuki to be in front of me.
"I'm done hesitating... I made my choice only once to stay with you, Victoria." Kaname says looking at me. I didn't shed any tears at all, my mind was blank but my mind was focus on how Yuuki would react to this. "However, I am going to fulfill my original plans. I'm sorry." I looked at Kaname to see the bats from his body coming out. My eyes didn't shown hatred or sadness, it showed understanding and courage.
"I know. I'm sorry too." Kaname's eyes were wide. "That I'm going to stop you." Kaname smirked.
"Thank you, Yuuki... Victoria..." Kaname slowly disappeared and I looked at Yuuki's form. Aidou was slowly going up the stairs saying father in disbelief. I looked at Yuuki to see her eyes completely blank.
"Onee-sama..." I said reaching a hand to her shoulder.
"You three stay here. I'll chase Kaname-kun." Kaien says running out of the mansion. I looked at him, then looked back at Yuuki.
"Onee-sama..." I tried again to snap back, but she grabbed my wrist and ran into the forest. We met Kaien in the forest. "Onee-sama, st-" I looked to see her eyes were full of sadness and anger, but those emotions were for me.
"I told you to stay there!" Kaien shouts at us. Yuuki didn't listen to him as she keeps on walking forward holding my wrist. "Wait!" Kaien hold her arm and I hold on to her hand.
"Let me go..." Yuuki says.
"No!" Kaien shouts.
"Onee-sama... Onee-sama!" I kept calling her name as she struggles between Kaien and I. "O... Onee-chan!" I slapped her face for her stop struggling and make her look at me. "I'm sorry! I didn't want you to look like this! I don't want Onee-chan to look so broken. But if you still want to chase him, then we..."
" the father that raised you two, I cannot let you two chase him. Everything you saw happen in front of your eyes here is a deviation from the Kaname-kun you know. Can't come up with a reason for Aizen-dono to be...!" Kaien explains.
"...I want to go, father, Victoria." Yuuki says. My eyes were as she looked at me with her eyes were so full of sadness.
'I'm so sorry. I shouldn't... I'm so sorry.' I thought.
"...Yuuki... you..." Kaien says.
"Please... let me go. I have to ask why this happened... Victoria, you told me that... you two were about to begin a long journey together... I can not except... that Onii-sama would do this to you. Just when I thought everything was going so well! That we can all be a happy family like before!" Yuuki says angry.
"Onee-chan..."
"Let me go..." Yuuki says. I can feel unbearable pain on my back. I put my head on Yuuki's shoulder. "Victoria... you can feel it too." All at once I can feel both of our blood starting to form something. Yuuki's formed butterfly wings, while mine form raven wings, the wings that look like a fallen angel.
"Yuuki... Victoria..." Kaien says surprised. Yuuki put her free hand on my cheek. I looked up at her to see her eyes goes blank.
"...Kaname's presence... it's so far that I can't even pursue him now..." Yuuki says. "But... you might..." My eyes widen as I can feel Yuuki's wing starting to flap. I got Kaien to let go of her as I held her tightly in my arms.
"Onee-chan! Please stop! Everything is going to be alright! Your suppose to be my big sister! I don't want you to lost control anymore! Please stop Onee-chan! I love you Onee-chan! Onee-chan!" I can feel my cheek, my arms, and my neck bleeding form her wings flapping.
"Onee-chan?" Yuuki repeats looking at me. "You called me Onee-chan again." I looked at Yuuki to see her eyes back to reality. Her eyes were wide seeing the blood on my cheek, my arms, and my neck. "Victoria..." She put her thumb on my cheek. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." Yuuki puts her arms around me as I tighten my embrace on her.
"Onee-chan?" I said dropping on my knees with Yuuki with her wings and my wings gone.
"I thought that you two needed to return to the place you belonged... but it looks like the relationship between you and Mukoro-kun isn't that simple, is it..." Kaien says. I looked to see Yuuki's eyes were know completely blank that held no emotions at all. I can hear Kaoru and Mimi running up to me and Yuuki. I stand up with Yuuki walking to the prison car.
"Yuuki, Victoria. It is the job of our society to hunt vampires, but suppressing those who cause ripples in the vampire society is also one of our important jobs. ...I'm sorry. As an important witness... and as a person requiring special care, I must hold you two in custody." Kaien explains. He tied our hands together. "Since Victoria are his fiancé, and Yuuki is his sister."
"...Headmaster, will Aidou-senpai... be alright...He cried..." I asked. The car was driving to the Hunter Association. I was siting next to Yuuki looking at Aidou. Kaoru and Mimi were necklace. It's been while since they were necklace so I almost forgotten what they looked like as necklace. I looked across of me to see Aidou crossing his arms with a sad expression.
'I'm so sorry Aidou-senpai... Onee-chan...'
