Hello! This is my 16th chapter...wow! I am so happy that you like my writing! Um I might not be able to post anything next week because I have mocks that whole week, but I will try. If anybody saw the new trailer you will know that Widow and Hulk are REALLY close, which just isn't right. I will accept it if it happens (which hopefully it won't), but I am not that happy about it! Anyway that's real life :) Back to fanfiction!

How about watching a movie or something? I have no idea?"

"Yeah, sounds good. My room or yours?" he asked.

"Mine?" I said and he nodded. "but pancakes first."

"Definitely." he agreed and went back to making us breakfast.

Damn it, what would I do without him.

Me and Clint got changed into some gym clothes (our normal dress code), because we had worn our battle gear for at least 24 hours by now.

After watching a couple of horror movies with Clint, it was now 5:00 and I couldn't take it any longer.

"Right, we need to go and spar right now! I cannot go for this long being a slob." I said standing up.

"Thank God. I thought you would never ask."

"Also, we can find out what stuff Stark has put in the room."

We walked into our private training area and looked around. It was a pretty big space!

There was a view of the city, a training area for Clint to shoot arrows and one for me to throw knives.

Looking around, I noticed a keypad and screen on the wall.

"Hey, have you seen this?" I shouted.

"Yeah. Stark was talking about it earlier. It is an automation thing. Brings up alien holograms for us to shoot."

Stark really did like to show off.

"Right. We can figure that out later. I just need to fight someone." I said and we went onto the mats.

"Ready?" he asked smiling and getting into a defensive position.

"Always." I said smirking back at him and then we began fighting. It was around the twenty minute mark that he was starting to get tired. We had been fighting constantly.

I gave a kick to his stomach, he went tumbling backwards and I wrestled him to the floor.

I locked his hands by his sides with my thighs and put both hand on the floor on either side of his head, straddling him.

"I win." I said with my head just above his.

"You always do." he said annoyed.

I stayed over him for a minute, forgetting that I was in fact what position I was in, and stared into his eyes.

He was so beautiful and I loved him so much. I can't tell him. He doesn't want to be with a person like me.

My eyes started to well up, because I knew that we could never be together. S.H.I.E.L.D wouldn't allow it and he doesn't even like me. Why am I getting so emotional over this?

"Tasha, what's wrong?" he said softly, now looking concerned and placing a hand on my cheek.

I suddenly realised that I had been on top of him for at least 20 seconds.

I coughed and said "Sorry" pulling away from him.

"I'll just go and...yeah" I said quickly getting off him and going back into my room, locking the door behind me.

"Natasha, what's up with you?" I heard him calling behind the door, but I didn't go to unlock it. I just slid down it and wiped away my tears crawling down my face.

What just happened? What am I meant to say to him?

A knock at the door interrupted my thoughts. I re-gathered my emotions, went across the room, opened the door and saw Pepper looking much happier than she was when she first entered Stark Tower at breakfast.

Thank goodness the room was dark, due to the red walls, because then Pepper wouldn't be able to see my face.

"Guessing you've got over Tony's near death experience?" I asked her.

"For the moment. I came here to ask you whether you wanted to join us for a girls night in. All the guys are taking Steve clubbing apparently, well apart from Banner for obvious reasons."

"All the Avengers apart from Banner?"

"Yeah. They discussed it when Barton came to get drinks for you and him during your movie marathon. Did he not tell you?"

"No, he didn't say anything."

Clint is going out. Like he would be interested in you, Natasha. Idiot.

I think I need to get away from him and recover from the embarrassment I face a minute ago.

"Yeah, sure. I'd love to."

"Great! The living room at 7. The boys are leaving at quarter past seven, so we have plenty of time to chat. I want to catch up with the others."

"So, who is coming."

"Just you, me and Maria."

"Okay, I'll see you there."

"Great. Oh and wear a dress that really compliments your figure. So with you that'll be anything." she said laughing.

"See you there Natasha." She said walking down the corridor, probably trying to stop Tony from breaking the Tower.

I closed the door, sat down on the bed and thought about mine and Clint's sparring session.

"Tasha." I heard him say through the locked door. He must have heard me speaking to someone and decided to stop talking.

I turned to look and debated going to open it.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"To talk to you Tasha."

"Don't call me that." I said threateningly. If you can say anything in that sort of tone from behind a door.

"Romanoff, open this door right now.

"Why?" I shouted.

"Because I want to know what's wrong."

"Look, you're going out clubbing in an hour and a half, so just talk to me tomorrow."

"Natasha..." he said and I just went out of my room towards the training centre.

I strutted pass Tony and Pepper kissing on the couch and he shouted "Hey Lady Hawk, you're meant to be off exercise." gesturing to my outfit.

"Leave me alone Stark." I said throwing a knife 10cm away from his hand that was resting on the side of the sofa.

"Hey!" he shouted, but I was already on my way down to the gym in the lift.

3rd person

"What was that about?" Stark asked with Pepper casually draped across his chest on his arc reactor.

"I think it might have something to do with Clint." she said. Then she widened her eyes regretting immediately what she had just said.

Looking up at Tony slowly, he said "Tell me what happened Miss Potts."

She look at him and sighed "Clint just didn't tell Natasha about you lot going out tonight, but that doesn't matter."

"It does." Stark said darkly smiling.

Pepper looked sternly at Stark.

"Don't you even think about it."

"What" he said innocently.

"I know that look. You're going to try and set them up like you are with Steve and Maria."

"I wasn't" he defended, but Pepper looked at Tony reflecting the words 'really' with her expression.

"Fine, but they don't really need much help as it is.

"Do not interfere Mr. Stark."

"You can't stop me." Stark said.

Pepper rolled her eyes and left a smirking Stark who was formulating some kind of way to get Clint to admit his feelings to him.

Natasha POV

I. *PUNCH* Am. *PUNCH* So. *PUNCH* ANNOYED. *PUNCH*

Why the hell was I acting like this? Crying over Clint, literally!

Barton hadn't come for me, meaning that he knew that I needed my space.

I had been thinking about this over and over and over and had been hitting the punch bag for about an hour now and I began to feel the ache weighing down on my arms.

Glancing over at the clock, it read 18:30. I had half an hour to freshen up before meeting the others.

I made my way out of the room and hit the button on the lift that took me to the Avengers floor.

When the lift opened, I found Pepper already dressed up in a rouge, strapless, above the knee-length dress that complimented her brilliantly.

"Pepper, you look incredible." I said.

"Thank you. Tony said the same thing just not as politely." she chuckled.

"Right. I will go shower, get changed and meet you out here."

"Brilliant. Bye Tasha."

I felt comfortable with Pepper calling me by my nickname, because we have become close friends, but I prefer it when Clint says it.

I went into my room, had a shower, dried my hair and went over to my wardrobe to pick my clothes.

I found, in the selection of dresses Stark gave me, a short black dress that was the only one deemed acceptable for me to wear and not be assumed as a prostitute.

I slipped it on along with some mini black heels and went to the mirror to brush my hair.

Whilst I was brushing it, my thoughts went back to Clint.

Why does he have to be so damn attractive? I mean, looks aren't everything and all, but it certainly doesn't hurt the situation. It isn't just the fact that he is the hottest guy in the world to me thought.

He is such an amazing person and character, unlike most of the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He gets me. And I get him just as much.

That'll probably change tonight when he goes to sleep with a blonde at a bar, ends up falling in love with her and goes to live on a remote island with her.

With that last comment, I put the brush down (a little bit too harshly) and made my way out of the door after seeing that it was now 6:57.

I walked down the corridor and saw Pepper talking to Maria who was in a backless blue dress (the one that Pepper wore in Iron Man) that would probably make Captain fall over if he saw her.

"Hey Hill. Nice dress." I said taking a seat on the couch.

"You too, Romanoff." Maria said.

"Why do you call each other by last name?" Pepper asked.

"Working with S.H.I.E.L.D has it's habits." Maria said.

We kept talking about S.H.I.E.L.D gossip for about ten minutes until Tony came out of the lift and came over to us.

"Stark." Maria said.

"Ice Queen." Stark replied. Maria just rolled her eyes ignoring Stark.

"Am I allowed to say that you all say smoking hot gorgeous tonight?" Stark asked Pepper.

Pepper gave one of my death glares in return.

"I'm guessing not. You all look very beautiful tonight. Better?" he said walking over to her and kissing her on the lips.

"And you are the most gorgeous woman I have ever met." Tony said as he began to kiss her again. They look so happy together. Why can't I have that?

Maria interrupted them coughing and saying "What happened to the ladies night, Pep?"

Pepper pulled away from Tony.

"You're right, but we can't gossip about all the guys until they leave, so I am going to get food." Pepper replied and Stark just followed her drooling over her beautiful figure. Men.

"So, I heard that it's all going down with you and a certain Captain America." I said striking up conversation with Maria once Stark was out of range.

Red creeped it's way up onto Maria's cheeks as she said "Nothing is 'going on' with me and Mr. Rogers."

"Your tomato coloured face says otherwise."

Maria sighed and said "Fine. I will tell you all that has happened, if anything really. So we were in the lift earlier today and the elevator stopped working and got stuck between floors. I was trapped in there with Steve."

I raised my eyebrows. "He's Steve now?"

"Shut up Romanoff. Anyway, I was asking JARVIS how long we would have to wait and he said half an hour, so really not that long. We fell into conversations really easily about his war days and Stark being a idiot. An hour later, when the lift finally decided to be normal, Cap said goodbye to me, but he..um..kissed my cheek as he left." Oh my goodness. Was Stark right to be curious about this?

"So, you...like him." I asked with a mischievous smirk.

"No. Definitely not. He was just saying goodbye to me." Maria said sounding like she was trying to convince herself of this.

"Maria...answer me truthfully."

After a couple of seconds of silence she spoke up. "...Okay I guess I like him a tiny bit, but you cannot tell Stark. And you cannot tell Rogers. If he finds out, he will flip, because I don't think he likes me."

"How do you know? He kissed you on the cheek. That is a sign."

A small smile began to pass her lips. "You really think so?" Maria asked.

"Yeah. You never know what he could be feeling for you."

"Thanks Natasha."

"That's okay...Maria."

Just then Pepper came back with 2 bowls of popcorn. And red lipstick smeared around her lips.

"What?" she asked when we gave her questioning looks.

"You have something on your face." Maria said keeping down a laugh.

She put the popcorn bowls down and went over to the mirror.

"Sorry me and Tony may have got a bit carried away." she said wiping make up off her face

"Yeah, we noticed." I said.

She came back down to sit next to us just as all the boys went past ready to show Steve the world of night clubs.

They all crowded round the sofa we were sitting on. Clint was suddenly next to me and his eyes were asking if I was alright.

I nodded as a form of answer.

I looked back. All the Avengers were staring at us. "What?" I asked.

"You two and your secret conversations. Right Captain ready to hit the clubs." Stark said.

"Do I really have to?" he said looking at Maria for a second and then back to Stark. "Can't we just stay here and chill. I mean Barton isn't even meant to be out of the Tower anyway." he argued.

"What Fury doesn't know won't hurt him and Clint is wearing a hoodie that makes him look like he lives under a bridge. Deep cover mission."

"Thanks." Clint said.

"No problem." Stark replied. "Now let's go." I saw Captain look sheepishly at Maria and she smile back slightly at him before he was pushed out the door with the others.

The last to leave was Clint who looked back at me for a couple of seconds before going into the lift.

"Yes, freedom!" Maria shouted.

My phone bleeped immediately after and I got a text that read:

"You look beautiful tonight. I couldn't say it in front of the others. You know how Stark is! Have a good night."

"Who are you texting?" Maria said trying to peek over my shoulder.

Hope you liked this! I promise that they will admit their feelings to each other soon, but I do want to keep the story line going for a little longer! Cheers! Hope you liked the Captain Hill and Pepperony as well! Going to do a Captain Hill side story after this that links into this one. :)
