Hope that you liked my last chapter when they got together! Very exciting stuff!
Previously
I felt so at home with Clint and the others, especially Clint though.
I smiled at the thought of a couple of minutes ago.
Me and Clint were still partners. Nothing, but also everything, had changed. And it was amazing!
It was now four o'clock when I realised I had been sitting on Clint for more than two hours.
Snapping out of my comfortable trance, I turned to him and said "Sorry, i'd be surprised if you can feel your legs right now!"
I started to get up, but he said "No, now that i've got you I don't ever want to let you go Tasha." and he pulled me into a hug.
"Clingy!" Stark shouted.
I just rolled my eyes and turned my attention back to Clint.
"I'm just glad that I have you with me." I said hugging him tighter.
I can't believe that we are together. Loki did this, but I wasn't exactly going to thank him.
"Stark please say you didn't actually upload that to the internet?" Clint asked.
"Why? Do you not want everyone to see that you are deeply in love with Spidey?" he said.
"No, of course I do. I want everyone knowing that we are together now,"
'Clingy' Stark mouthed and Pepper smacked him on the head, but Clint continued.
"But I don't know whether you would want it." he said turning towards me.
I smiled up at him.
"Now that is adorable. And no. I don't mind at all. They were going to find out sooner or later and everyone assumed it anyway."
We looked at each other for a while, just gazing into each others eyes.
I could tell what he was thinking. He was thinking that now that the video has been published that people would use me to get to him and vise versa, so I continued.
"Clint, everyone thinks we are already together, so don't worry about it. Okay?"
He smiled slightly and nodded.
"What are you two talking about?" Steve asked looking up from his book confused.
"Clint thought that now everybody knows that we are together that people could use our relationship as blackmail against each other, but it won't change anything, because they all thought it anyway."
Steve nodded in understanding.
"Okay people! The party starts in four hours, so I am going to get ready!" Stark said.
"Really, now? You have loads of time!" Maria said.
"You do not know how long it takes Stark to get ready! If he starts now, he will probably be at least half and hour late!" Pepper said.
"Whatever guys!" Stark said walking into the elevator to go to his room.
"So, what are you going to wear tonight Natasha?" Pepper asked and Clint stood up.
"No, no, no. I am not listening to you guys have a conversation about clothes." Then he left leaving me, Pepper and Maria talking about dresses. And Cap reading a book on one of the chairs.
"I'm thinking a purple dress with black shoes. I know purple's not my favourite, but it is Clint's so I thought I would do it." Pepper gasped.
"That is such a good idea." she squealed. "Maria, you have to do that too?"
"Wait...what? I'm confused." Maria said.
"Dress in red, white and blue, because those are Cap's colours."
Maria looked at Cap, who had been staring at Maria for the past three hours.
She opened her mouth to say something, but found it difficult to get out what she was trying to say, so I stepped in.
"Come on, Maria. We are all doing it anyway. You'll be left out if you don't" Out of all of my skills, I was best at persuasion and Maria knew this, which is why she looked like she knew she was defeated.
She huffed and said "All right, but I don't have anything like that."
Pepper smiled. "Shopping trip!"
"Uh, it makes us sound like 15 year old girls."
Pepper rolled her eyes at Maria's comment, pulled her up and said "Come on!"
Maria looked back at Cap with a scared facial expression and he smiled at her.
They got into the lift, but realised that I was hanging behind.
"Tasha, you coming?" Pepper asked.
"I'll meet you on the ground floor. I need to go and speak to Clint."
Pepper just nodded and the doors closed.
I walked up to Steve who now had his full attention on the book he had been 'reading' for the past three hours.
"You know, the whole point of reading, is the fact that you actually have to look at the words and turn the pages."
He looked up and turned one of the pages just to prove me wrong.
"So what's the story about?" I asked knowing that he had no clue.
"Ummm..." Steve stuttered "Well...I'm not going to tell you. Wouldn't want to spoil the book."
"Right, of course." I said sarcastically and he just stared at me.
"What?"
"Why don't you just ask her out Steve? I mean is it really that hard?"
"Did you see how long it took you and Barton!"
"Ha. That means that you do like her."
Steve looked back at the book.
"I never said that."
"I can tell. You know I am the best at interrogation. Everyone does. Breathing constrictions when you talk to Maria. Stuttering and interest whenever someone is talking about her. Dilated pupils. The list goes on Rogers. If you really want me to tell you everything I can write you a 10 page essay."
Steve sighed in defeat. "Is it really that obvious?"
"Yeah. It's obvious to everyone. You don't even need to know the science behind it to know that you are attracted to her."
"What am I going to do? How do I make it go away?" he asked sounding desperate.
"Why do you want to get rid of your feelings?"
"Because she doesn't even like me!" Idiot.
"Steve, will you come around and see some sense? She really likes you. I know I shouldn't be saying all of this, but really I am fed up with people tip toeing around each other. I did it with Barton and we ended up together anyway! We could have been together for years. Don't make the same mistake you did all those years ago." He knew I was talking about Peggy and I could see the pain in his eyes.
"When I said all of those things on the list, I was talking about her doing the same things to you as well."
"Are you sure?" Steve asked.
"Oh my goodness. Tonight, ask her out, see what she says and go from there okay!"
He still looked unsure, so I turned to threats. Always works.
"Promise me you will or I will kick you so hard in the balls that you will no longer be able to father a child. Do you understand?"
He nodded hurriedly and I left him there to think over how he was going to ask Maria out.
"Every time." I whispered to myself smiling as I pressed the button calling the elevator.
I met the others on the bottom floor. This would be the first day out of the tower with everyone knowing who I am.
"Okay, so there will be some people coming up to ask you questions randomly in the street, but only answer the ones that you want and DO NOT tell them anything confidential. Got it?" Maria asked.
She was one of my friends, but she was here to make sure that we didn't mess up and I was grateful for her guidance.
"Got it." Me and Pepper said and we walked out of the doors to be met by hundreds of cameras.
"Oh my God" Pepper said surprised by the number of people who were trying to talk to us.
The only word I heard mention multiple times was Clint.
Stark's body guards were quite helpful in pushing all of the reporters back, but three different people pushed through them and talked to me, Pepper and Maria separately.
The body guards looked at them cautiously, but we signalled to them that it was alright.
"Hello Black Widow. So, what is it like living with Tony Stark?"
"Tiring. He never shuts up."
The reporter laughed, obviously fake, and then returned to her questions.
"So, we've all seen the video that StarksTheBest's posted on YouTube of you and Hawkeye. Comments?" She obviously wanted to draw the attention to Clint.
"He calls himself StarksTheBest? Should have known!"
"So what about you and Hawkeye? How long have you been a couple?"
I hesitated. "We don't really use the word couple. We've been together for just over three hours and we like the word partners. We have always been partners at S.H.I.E.L.D."
"How long have you been in love with him?"
This made me pause. I was in love with Clint, but I didn't want the world knowing just yet.
"I wouldn't call it that exactly. I would just say that we are happy with each others company at the minute."
"Okay. So how long have you been sleeping with him for?" she asked me.
What the hell?
"I haven't been sleeping with him."
"That's not what everyone else has been saying." she said getting on my nerves.
"Everyone else is not me."
"So tell us your side of the story."
Okay. I can do this.
"Agent Barton," I began trying keep things professional "was sent to kill me 7 years ago. He refused to carry out these orders and instead offered me a place at S.H.I.E.L.D. We have been partners ever since and were recommended for the Avengers project, which is why we made it here."
"So, have you liked him since the beginning?"
"Yes. I think so, yeah."
"But you refuse to say that you love him?" the reporter asked trying to get a big scoop out of me. I wasn't going to let that happen.
"Excuse me. I have to go and get the others." I said walking towards the others.
Pepper was complaining to someone about Tony and Maria was talking with someone about what the Avengers planned to do in the future.
I got them away from the nagging reporters and we went to the shopping mall.
Purple. Purple. Purple.
I was looking through a clothes rack as we were inside 'one of the most expensive clothes shops in the whole city'.
There were fans outside holding up signs saying 'Marry me?' and ridiculous rubbish like that.
I was casually grazing my hands over multiple hangers when my eyes caught a strapless purple dress.
I pulled it out and examined it's features. It was so balletic.
A short tea-line dress that had a purple lace material around the centre.
I walked up to the desk and asked the lady if I could try it on.
She said "Of course." with a polite and slightly fearful smile. I think she knew what my skills were like.
It was so beautiful.
It clung to my body in all of the right places and complimented my face perfectly.
I came out of the changing room and stood on a platform that was usually reserved for brides-to-be, but obviously this was not the case!
"Oh my God!" Pepper whispered from behind me.
I turned around and found Pepper with her mouth basically on the floor.
"What do you think?" I asked.
"What do I think? I think that Clint is going to die and go to heaven when he sees you looking like this!"
"Oh my God!" Maria said coming around from the corner.
"Would you stop saying that already?" I said.
"Sorry, you just look incredible! Clint is going to pass out when he sees you."
"Hopefully not. I want to dance with him first."
They both chuckled and I said "Right. Back to business. Pepper we still need to find you a red and gold dress and Maria we need to find you a Captain America styled one. I'll pay for this and then help you with the search."
I got changed back out of the dress, bought it and then went to help the others.
I was in the middle of searching through some clothes when Maria called us over. "Guys, I need your opinion on this.
We rushed over and went to look at the dress.
It was a blue strapless dress, with a white and red line going across the bodice.
Then it came down to tightly hug her hips and thighs stopping just above the knee. It was short, but not as short as the last time she was drunk with Steve. We all know how that ended.
"Okay." Pepper started. "It's not only Clint who is going to die and go to heaven."
Maria blushed and went to get changed whilst we searched for Pepper's dress.
After what felt like forever, I found a short mesh insert skater dress (Google it!) that was red with a small gold belt.
I saw some golden heels over in the corner, picked them up and took the selection to Pepper.
"Try this on. I bet you'll look great." I said smiling.
"Cheers Tasha." she replied and Maria came out of the changing room to pay for the dress.
I joined her and said "You know, Captain really does have a thing for you."
"Don't be ridiculous Natasha." she said looking away slightly trying to hide her blush.
"Also, looking away from me whilst your blushing doesn't really help your case."
She looked back at me, a bit embarrassed, and said desperately "What am I going to do?"
I held her shoulders and made her face me square on.
"Look, everything is going to work out, okay? Tonight will change everything. Trust me." I said with a knowing smirk and before she could reply, Pepper stepped out of the changing room and showed us.
"Stunning." I said.
"The boys won't know what hit them!" Pepper said smiling returning to the changing room.
Pepper paid for the dress and then we went back to Avengers Tower.
On the way home, everyone was coming up to us and saying thank you. It felt good, but slightly out of place.
These people didn't know about my past. How many I have killed! They only know about what happened in New York.
My mind went back to the present when JARVIS asked me to scan my hand.
We went upstairs and found the boys in the kitchen. When they saw us they were quiet immediately and Tony and Steve just walked away.
Clint came towards me and pulled me into a hug. He pulled back and kissed me on the lips.
"What's in the bag?" he questioned.
"You will have to wait and see."
"You're acting like it's our wedding Tasha!"
"Well, it's a surprise. You will have to be patient." I said kissing him on the lips. "What was the conversation about."
"What do you think?" Clint asked.
"Tonight and Operation Captain Hill?"
Clint just nodded and I went to my room.
After training, having a shower and wrapping myself in a towel, I looked over at the clock and saw that it was already 7:30.
I got out the dress and looked at it.
Damn, I have worn some nice dresses in my time and purple wasn't my favourite colour, but I really liked the look of this dress. It reminds me of Clint.
I was about to get undressed when I heard a knock at the door.
"JARVIS, who is it?"
"Agent Barton, Miss Romanoff."
I put the dress back in it's bag and said "Send him in."
I turned around and he opened the door, in just jeans and a t-shirt, saying "Hey Natasha."
"Hey Clinton."
He scowled.
"Don't call me that."
"What would you prefer Clinton FRANCIS Barton." I put extra emphasis on his middle name which made him wince.
"Please stop."
"Only if you call me Tasha."
He smiled, walked over and said "I can live with that. Tasha."
He pulled me into a deep kiss and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
I didn't want to have sex with him just yet, because I still felt like it was too soon after Loki, but that didn't mean that we couldn't kiss all the time.
I pushed him onto the bed and put my legs around him, not caring that I was only in a towel.
Our tongues were fighting for dominance and my heart felt like it was beating a million times a minute.
I placed my arms against his chest and he placed his hands on my hips, his fingertips burning through the towel.
We continued to kiss like this for five minutes until he pulled back and said "We need to get ready."
I rested my forehead against his and moaned "Why?"
He chuckled and said "Do you really want people to know that we are sleeping together?"
I raised my eyebrows..."Know?"
He began stuttering "I didn't...I didn't mean know that we...were going to sleep together now...I just...they might assume that we might be you know...ditching the party because...well...can i start again?"
"Clint, do me a favour and shut up." I said and placed a long kiss on his lips.
"Now, we need to get ready." I said climbing off him and holding out my hand.
He took it and I pulled him up, so he was hovering over me slightly. Why am I so small? It's cruel really.
"I came here for a reason, you know Tasha."
"You came for a make-out session and not to see me? Great." I said sarcastically.
"No, no. I wanted to give you this." He said handing me a rectangular box.
I took the box, undid the ribbon and opened it.
A silver arrow necklace.
"It's so you never forget me." he said. He is so sweet.
"How could I forget you." I replied.
He undid the clip and fastened it round my neck.
He put his hands on my shoulder and stroked them.
"See you at the party, Tasha." he said placing a smiling kiss on my head.
"See you there, Hawk." I said and I let him walk past me to the door.
Once it was shut, I sat down on the bed taking a moment to breath after our serious make-out session.
After I recovered, I got up and went towards my dress.
My hair dried pretty quickly, so all I needed to do was put the dress on and style it.
I slipped it on, zipped the back up and went over to the mirror.
I straightened my hair and then put my hand up to the necklace.
I loved him so much. I wonder when I will tell him and if he feels the same way.
Then a voice came from somewhere.
"Ladyhawk to the living room please. I repeat, Ladyhawk to the living room." I rolled my eyes.
"Stark, are you replacing JARVIS?"
"For the minute yes, I don't think he is going to be very happy about it. Anyway, come party...and bring Mister Widow."
Asshole.
At that moment, I heard a knock at the door.
I opened it and Clint's mouth dropped open.
Did I seriously have this effect on him?
He looked me up and down and tried to formulate some form of words, but was failing miserably. "You are worryingly turning into Rogers." No reply.
"Do you wanna take your mouth off the ground?" I asked, but he just stood frozen, now staring at my face.
"Look," I said stepping forward "Let me do it for you." I shut his mouth and he began to regather his thoughts.
"Tasha...you look...beautiful." he said quietly looking admirably at me.
"Thank you. Now stop hawk gawking at me and offer me your arm." I commanded.
He did so saying "Anything you want, ma'am" in a voice similar to that of Captain America's.
I laughed, shut the door behind me and wrapped my arm around his.
Hope you liked it :) Can't wait to get back to normal writing and then do a Captain Hill fanfic linked with this! Exciting! See you later and please review!
