Ally POV

"That dress is so perfect, Ally," Quinn smiled, the other two girls clapping in agreement.

I raised an eyebrow from my spot on the little stage. "You guys have said that about the last seven that I've tried on."

It was a few days after the drunk Austin fiasco, and we were in a dress shop in downtown Miami.

Rachel, the lady helping me, put a finger on her lip. "What do you think about it, dear? Every dress you've tried on has looked great, but this is your decision."

"It's too hard," I said, putting a hand over my face. "They're all so gorgeous."

The one I had on was a simple strapless gown that cinched at my waist and flowed down to the ground. The bodice was jewelled, with little intricate flowers cascading down the actual dress part. I was completely clueless when it came to dresses and such, but anyone could see that this dress was beautiful.

"Well, if it's any consolation, you have to get a dress today if you want it ordered in time for the wedding. Which, by the way, is in forty one days," Trish spoke.

"How is that any consolation?" I glared.

"Is that not what you say when you want people to hurry the hell up?" she asked.

I bent down and threw my shoe at her, which she expertly ducked. "Sassy," she laughed. "I'm kidding, Ally. Not about the needing to get a dress today part, but the hurry the hell up part."

I sighed and turned to Rachel. "Do you mind if I look around more? I know we've been here for hours."

"No, no, honey, go right ahead! I'll go see if I can find some as well," she smiled before hurrying off.

Leah stood up straight from where she was leaning against the wall, her heels clicking on the hardwood floor. "Come on, I saw a dress over in the corner that I thought you'd like. I'll show you."

I hoisted up the dress I was wearing and following her to the back of the store while Quinn and Trish waited in the showing room.

"Here," Leah said, grabbing a dress off of a hanger. "It looks like your size, too."

She held it up for me to see. It was breathtaking. It was strapless with jewels coming down in a triangle in the middle of the chest. The dress part was asymmetrical and cinched in places, and was a little poofy, but not overly. It was pretty simple, but it was totally me. I loved it.

Rachel came around the corner. "Oh, that's what I was just coming to find! What do you think?"

I smiled. "I love it. I'll try it on."

Once I had that dress on, I felt like a princess. I walked out of the change room and onto the stage, and all three of my friends shrieked.

"That looks so awesome, Ally, it really does!" Trish said, clapping her hands like a giddy child.

"I think that's the one, Ally," Quinn said, Leah nodding in agreement.

"I basically crushed that one," Leah grinned.

"Wow," I breathed as I looked in the mirror. "It fits perfectly."

"You would need a bit of hemming near the bottom to shorten it a tad bit, but other than that, it looks great," Rachel said. "What do you think? Are you saying yes to the dress?"

I grinned and exclaimed, "I'm definitely saying yes to the dress!"

We all squealed happily, and while I was paying for the dress and putting my order in, it was starting to feel more and more like I was just weeks away from getting married to the love of my life. Life was just so good.

A couple of days later, it was Christmas Eve, and Austin and I were playing with Maci at the park a few streets down from our house. She had little Santa mitts on to match her red boots and white jacket. She was dressed very festively. I had also wrapped her blonde curly hair into a bun.

"Excited to spend time with everyone tomorrow?" Austin asked me as he slid down the slide with Maci on his lap.

She shrieked happily. "Again!"

"For sure. Are you?"

"Definitely," he nodded, going back up the stairs to the slide. "I haven't seen my parents in a while, or yours. I guess I've just been really busy."

"Yeah, about that…" I fiddled with my fingers. "Are you okay, Austin?"

He glanced at me and slid down the slide again. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

"No, I mean, is something on your mind?"

"Well, the tour is, yeah. Isn't that a given? It starts in two days," he chuckled. Maci came over to me, and I scooped her up to bring her over to the swings. I put her in the baby one and lightly pushed her.

"Besides the tour," I said. "You haven't been acting like yourself, and it's kind of scaring me." I paused. "Are you having second thoughts about the wedding? Because if you are, that's okay, we can wait or-"

"No!" Austin exclaimed, cutting me off. "No, no, no, of course I'm not having second thoughts. I love you, Als! No, we're still getting married. And I can't wait to see you in your dress," He smiled, bending down to kiss me. He put his hands on either side of my face, and I forgot about our daughter for a moment. I put my hands on his waist and he pulled me closer, deepening the kiss.

I heard Maci squeak, "Ew!" which only made me smile into the kiss.

After a very awesome minute of hard core making out, we broke apart. "Okay, I believe you. I definitely believe you," I breathed. He smiled in return. Damn, that boy could do everything to make me melt.

I went back to pushing Mace. "So, if it's not the wedding, then what is it? Come on, Austin. I know you better than anyone. I can tell something's wrong," I said gently.

Austin looked at me, and I mean, really looked at me, before he sighed and sat down on one of the horizontal bars holding the swing set up. "I don't know…I've been having quite a bit of pain in my right leg recently."

I stopped pushing Maci, and she made little whining noises of protest. For once, I had to ignore her. "What?"

"And uh…" He scratched the back of his neck. "I wasn't recording last week when you went to look at flower arrangements. I went to the hospital to get it checked out," He continued.

"Why didn't you tell me all of this?" I exclaimed. "And why did you lie to me?"

"I didn't want you to worry!"

"Well, congratulations, I'm officially worried."

He stood up and came over to put his arms around me. "Relax, Als, I'm sure it's nothing. I probably just pulled a muscle rehearsing dance numbers for the tour."

"I don't think you should have a 'probably' attitude about this," I said into his chest. "What did the doctor actually tell you?"

"I don't have results yet. I didn't want to say anything to you until I knew for sure," he admitted.

I sighed and ran a hand over my hair. "Well, I guess we'll see what happens, then."

Austin smiled. "Come on, we better head back and start our Christmas Eve supper." He bent down so he was eye level with Maci. "Ready to head back, honey?"

"No!" she exclaimed.

"Maci, it's time to go," Austin said. "You can play with Pancakes when we get home, okay? I'm sure she's been waiting for you to come back."

Maci smiled. "Okay!" She lifted her arms up. "Help!"

Austin grinned and lifted her out of the swing before carrying her over to her stroller, me trailing behind. Maci constantly fiddled with the hair at the back of Austin's neck where it was longer, wrapping it in her little fists with a mesmerized look on her face. It was priceless. He could never carry her or hold her without her doing that, unless she was asleep.

Maci glanced at me and waved. "Hi mommy!"

"Hey, sweetie," I grinned, waving back.

Austin looked at me too, and said, "Hi mommy."

I rolled my eyes, but smiled and linked my arm through his. "Hi, daddy."

My two favourite people were adorable.

A/N: Hope you enjoyed! It was just a little cute chapter :) Oh, and I start Grade 12 on Wednesday (ew), so the time has come where I'm going to be busy with schoolwork again, so I think I'm going to try and write a few chapters tonight and then I can post every week or so, just to get some of the story finished again. Thanks, guys, love you!

And people that review asking if I abandoned the story because I haven't updated in forever: no, I have not abandoned it, nor will I EVER abandon my stories. Sometimes it just takes me a while :/ but I really do try :)
