Authors Note: OMG! The first story I have ever posted is now completed. For those of you that have been on this roller coaster ride since its first posting. I want to thank you for sticking with me. I'm actually sad to see its completion, but I'm also excited to be back posting my own stories once again. I'm going to do my best to see if I can at least update one chapter to each of my stories that have been sitting in limbo for the past few years. I'm not making any promises, but that is my intention.

Chapter 12 - Lightning's Love

Four Months Later

Fate's POV

I almost feel like my old self again. Although I think, the final verdict is going to be in today's practice. Hayate said, "You're not going to be allowed back into the field until you can beat the White Devil." I'll believe it when I see it... I think it's going to be fun to see how far I've come since waking up. Nanoha said that she wouldn't go easy on me. She wants to make sure that I'm fit for duty.

I was surprised to find out who the new forwards were, I was also very happy. Caro, Erio, and Lulu deserve to be in a good and happy situation. I just hope that Nanoha isn't being as brutal with them, as she was with Teana and Subaru.

I also found out that some of Scaglietti's numbers have joined our group as well, after serving time. Although Nove and Sein are going to have to do community time as they were both with me, protecting my daughter.

That brings our group to a strong twenty although I do feel sorry for poor Erio, as he is the only boy in the group. Although I have been told, we have another member. I hope that I'll get to meet this mysterious member soon.

I look over to the corner of the infirmary and see Destiny floating with tubes and an oxygen mask. Shamal has been trying her best, but Destiny is still dying. Everything that she is tried has failed, which is been very heartbreaking for everyone involved. I noticed the Ali visits her every day. She even kisses the tank good night before going to bed. I just wish there was something I could do to save her.

Shamal walks over to me looking over her test results, she seems to like what she's looking at although I can tell, I'm nowhere even near half way to my usual self. I won't be able to get to my usual self until I can feed; unfortunately, I'm in no shape to do that.

"Well, Fate looks like everything is in order. There's nothing more that I can do for you, you'll have to do the rest yourself. Just don't overdo it in practice today. You know how Nanoha gets when she's sparring with you, don't let her push you around. You're still trying to recover."

I nodded my head yes, as I know very well how the two of us end up when we're pitted up against each other in practice. Leaving the infirmary, I head down to the training room. Once there I sit down in one of the viewing chairs next to the Commander and watch Nanoha take on three of the forwards.

Is it me or does she seem even more sexy when she's fighting like this, it has to be my libido kicking in. Nanoha and I haven't done anything except hold each other at night or more like, Nanoha is clinging to me as if she's afraid I'm going to disappear before she wakes the next morning.

Nanoha finally calls a halt to their training and tells them to cool off, and drink plenty of water. Then she sees me and curls her finger in a come over here motion. It has got to be my libido because I'm finding that extremely sexy right now. Nanoha is breathing heavy, covered in sweat, and beckoning for me to come over to her. Yeah, it's definitely my libido.

I slowly make my way over to Nanoha and she slowly starts to smile at me, then in a blink of an eye. She's moving towards me and I know what she's about to do and I counter her move. Blow-by-blow I counter. The only difference is I'm getting tired and fast. I have to figure out a way to best her without hurting her, as I don't want to lose either.

Out of nowhere, she does a maneuver that hits me in my solar plexus hurdling me back towards the wall crashing into it, I hit the back of my head and stare stunned as I slowly slide to the floor and try to figure out what the hell just happened?

Nanoha comes running over to me, starts checking to see if I have any broken bones. She's muttering to herself. She couldn't believe she had lost control, and hurt me. I leaned forward and stopped her with a brief kiss to her lips.

"I'll be all right Nanoha I just wasn't expecting that move. I've never seen you use those moves before, where did you learn them?"

She stopped and stared at me and then a look of sadness entered her eyes as she said. "Apparently it's something that Destiny knew and when she did the memory transfer some of those moves were also transferred to me."

As Nanoha was talking, I noticed a big, dark skinned man with white hair come into the training room and walked straight over to the Commander. She stood up and starts talking with him, it seemed that he was explaining something to her. When I noticed, her eyes expanded wide as if she was surprised by something he had said. After he was done, he left.

"Fate, why haven't you healed as fast as you normally do? I've never seen you heal so slowly before. Was something done to you to slow your healing process down?"

I looked back over at Nanoha and smiled slightly, "No Doctor Shamal just told me to not do anything vigorous. So I haven't been able to feed properly."

Nanoha just stared at me as she was trying to figure out what I just said when I saw her cheeks tinged with pink. I hope she has put two and two together.

"You mean you haven't healed properly, because you haven't fed? Honey, if you need to feed from me, you don't need to ask. I would give you anything."

"Yes, but Nanoha I have to feed when you're at..."

"Fate, Nanoha we need to get going. We think we found Jails main laboratory, so let's get going people!" See what I mean?

Nanoha helped me up, as my head was still kind of reeling from the hit. When I looked back at the wall, it was seriously indented that must've been one powerful punch that she gave me to cause that much damage.

The team piled into two big vans and headed out. The driver of the lead van was the same man that I saw talking to the Commander. Forty-five minutes later, we ended up coming to an old warehouse not far from where we rescued who we thought was "Nanoha".

We made our way towards what looked like an office, but inside ended up being an elevator, it was just big enough for all of us to fit, once we got to the only stop we all exited cautiously. The team broke up into six parties Nanoha, Shamal, Caro, Erio, Lulu, and I were all in one party.

Nanoha took the lead and I brought up the rear. The corridor that we took ended up leading us into a large cavern and it was lined on both sides with stasis tubes. As we moved through, we could see that there were people inside. I wasn't sure if any of them were still alive after so many years of neglect, but I sure hoped they were.

We finally came to a bank of computers and Shamal made a beeline for them surprisingly, none of them was passcode secure, so she was able to access all the files. After a few minutes she exclaimed and excitement.

"This is it Nanoha, Fate, I found it! I know how to save, Destiny!"

I was about to say something when I heard Lulu behind me cry out a sob. "Mother! He really did have you."

We all looked over to the new forwards Caro, and Erio were holding onto Lulu as she continued to sob as she looked up at a woman that was in one of stasis tubes. We walked up to them, I looked up, and the woman they were looking at did look an awful lot like Lulu.

Shamal checked the instruments and looked over at the three of them with a smile on her face. "According to these she's in stable condition, I'll just have to find out why she's in here and then find the safest way to get her out. We will save her."

It took us hours to collect the data and the stasis tubes that still had living people in them. Unfortunately, there were some that didn't survive. I was greatly saddened that we weren't able to save everyone. On the way back to base, I put my head on Nanoha's shoulder, as I was extremely tired. That was my first outing since coming back from my self-imposed exile.

Once we were back to base, Shamal told us to bring the girls to the infirmary as she was going to need all four of us for the cure for Destiny. I was very exhausted, but also thrilled at the thought that we were actually going to be able to save her. We collected the girls and made it back as quickly as my exhausted body would go.

Shamal took blood from all four of us, and mixed it together when she was done, she filled a syringe went over to the hanging bags of saline and injected it. "I need to give her an injection every hour for the next twenty-four hours or it won't work. I hope that I've taken enough from the four of you. If not I'll need you all back here to make more tomorrow."

We all agreed and headed back to the apartment where I promptly went straight to the bedroom and collapsed into bed. I haven't felt this weak since I was a child, if I needed to feed, I would just find some hooker and take what I wanted and then wipe her memory.

Ever since I've been with the unit, I haven't needed to do that. When Shamal said, no vigorous activity that meant I also couldn't feed, so I couldn't heal quickly and get better at a faster rate. As of today, I've been cleared for the most part, for normal activity, which is just fine with me.

I must've fallen asleep. As Nanoha came in to wake me, up for supper. I got up, went into the bathroom to wash up, and then made my way into the dining room as my family sat waiting for me. The sight before me truly warmed my heart. The woman I loved and our two daughters. They were all smiling at me, and waiting, waiting for me to join them at the dinner table.

As we all started to dig in to the pot roast dinner, I noticed Arf came over and lay down next to me with big blue sad eyes. I know she's been worried about me, and she's been trying to tell me that I needed to tell Nanoha, what it was I needed to get better faster. I refused, as I didn't want Nanoha to think that's all I wanted it for; no, I need to make sure that she knows that I want to make love to her, not just feed from her.

After dinner, I helped Nanoha clean the table off, put the food away, and wash the dishes. I made my way over to the balcony sat down and looked up at the stars, and I felt a peace wash over me as I saw the moon slowly rising over the cityscape.

As I thought back a few years ago, I was actually thinking of scaling down the outside of this building and disappearing into that cityscape never to be seen again. If, Commander Yagami hadn't stopped me who knows what would've happened to Nanoha, or the girls. I remembered something that Nanoha's mother Momoko had told me, "Everything always happens for a reason Fate, you just have to have faith that everything will work out right."

She must've tried to tell me without giving away the secret that they were planning to adopt Alicia and I into the family, so that we would never be alone again. If only things, had taken a different turn. Would our daughters even be in existence if that actually happened? I can't see going through a day without my girls in it.

"There you are Fate; I was looking all over for you. It's been a long time since the two of us sat out here and looked up at the stars. Did you know that Hayate had to have our balcony, re-enforced? Vivio was out here constantly and over time the balcony start pulling away from the wall. She pouted for the entire week that they were repairing it."

I chuckled, "I can just imagine that, could you imagine the two of them doing that? That would've been great entertainment, but then I would've gotten in trouble for laughing at them about it. We have a beautiful family Nanoha and I never want to be without my family ever again."

"I never want to be without you ever again, we missed out on so much. We were separated for thirteen years and then again, for another three Fate, we've been apart for sixteen years. I don't ever want to be apart from you ever again."

I reached my hand out to Nanoha and she took it. I slowly brought it up to my lips and kissed the back of her knuckles. I took a deep breath in and savored her scent. I wanted to savor everything about this woman I wanted my lips to explore every inch of her and I wanted to do that tonight.

"Why didn't you tell me that you needed to feed to heal faster? I would have done it willingly, knowing it would make you completely healthy again."

I took in another deep breath and sighed, it out. "You don't seem to understand Nanoha, it's not something that I can just take, it's something that is a give-and-take. It's something that is very intimate for both parties."

"What do you mean by intimate for both parties?"

I could feel my cheeks turn pink at what I was about to say. "Nanoha when I go to feed from you. I want it to be when I make love to you because I want to make love to you, not because I need to feed. This is a very special and sacred act to me when it comes to you."

"I see, so that means that you don't want to make love to me."

Nanoha pulled her hand from mine stood up and walked into the apartment, I was up and behind her before she could make it to our bedroom. I spun her around and kissed her, kiss her with all of my feelings and when she opened her mouth to gasp I invaded and made her mouth my own until she leaned into me and encircled my waist with her arms.

Breaking the kiss softly I asked, "Does that answer on how much I want you?"

The skirt fell and covers her shirt, I hooked my fingers inside of her panties and slowly pull them down, as they went down her legs, I kiss a trail behind them. I move around behind her and kiss my way up her legs, kissing each cheek of her butt, including her dimples. Gently I crisscross along her back until I came to the back of her bra unhooking it; I slid it off from her shoulders and let that be the top of her mountain of clothes.

I kiss each of her shoulder blades, and then start to kiss and suckle at her neck. Her knees started to give so I wrap my arms around her waist so she wouldn't fall. Carefully I move around the front of her continuing to kiss and suckle at her neck. Then I move up and nibble at one of her ear lobes and a moan escape from her lips.

I tighten my arms around her, as I felt her peaks crushing to me. I want nothing more than to devour them, but I need to take my time we had all night. Relaxing my hold on her, I lift my head and look into her smoky blue eyes.

"Crawl onto the bed Nanoha, I've got a bit of a show for you."

She nods her head and slowly crawls onto the bed, still keeping those beautiful smoky blue eyes on me. With a smile on my lips, I slowly unbutton my shirt. Smiling, I slowly walk to the end of the bed and start crawling up the bed towards her.

Again, I kiss my way up her body detouring away from the areas that I want the most, placing a kiss on each of her hips. I move back to her belly button, kissing my way up to the valley of her breasts to her collarbone. I finally indulge myself as I suckle at her pulse point until I start to taste copper through her skin, I gently let go.

Nanoha grabs my head with both hands on either side of my face, brings my lips up to hers, and starts to kiss me with passion. Our tongues go back and forth explore each other's mouths, until slowly I pull away. Lifting my head away, I look down and see she's panting with want and need. Now it's time to satisfy both our cravings.

I gently move in for a light kiss to her lips, then move down and kiss her collarbone. I make a trail of kisses to the edge of her breast, and make a slight spiral going up to her peak. Once I'm at my destination, I take it gently in my mouth and slowly suckle on it. She gasps as I seize my prize and then lets out a long moan as I gently encircle it with my tongue licking the tip of it. She lifts her head, her eyes, and mouth open and slowly drops her head back down and releases her breath that she has been holding.

Just After Dawn

"Mama, Papa, it's time to get up aunt Alicia is making breakfast!" Two little girls come bursting into our room, running and then jumping onto the bed. I was grateful that I had covered both Nanoha and myself last night before falling asleep.

I was more coherent than Nanoha. "Okay we'll be right out. Close the door when you leave."

The girls gave me odd looks, but nodded their heads and ran back out slamming the door closed behind them. Note to self, the next time I go to ravish Nanoha lock the door behind me.

"Nyahaha," The woman in my arms was shaking from her laughter.

"Just be grateful I covered us before falling asleep last night. Otherwise the girls would've gotten quite an eye full."

Nanoha looked down and realized that she was still naked, but I still had my underwear on. Moving up so she could lean on her elbow, she looked down at me. "Why didn't you feed when we were making love last night?"

I lift my hand up, caressed her cheek, "Because I wanted last night to be only about you."

"But Fate…" I put my finger in front of her lips to stop her words.

"It's all right Nanoha, the next time we make love it will be for the two of us."

Sighing, she kissed my finger, crawled out of bed, and put on her robe. She makes her way into the bathroom, the only reason I don't follow her is I know it would be hours before we got out. Alicia might get a little upset with us if we were late for breakfast.

After we showered and dressed, we made our way out into the dining room were a full course breakfast was waiting for us. The conversation at breakfast was light. Ali was telling us that Destiny had been moved out of the stasis tube, and was now resting peacefully. We made our way down to the infirmary after breakfast, to check on Destiny's prognosis. When we arrived, Shamal requested that we give more blood as she had to increase the dosages each time she gave the treatment.

A soft voice called from the bed, "Ali?"

Alicia rushed to Destiny's side; taking her hand, she kissed the back of it. "Don't you ever scare me like this again you foolish woman."

Wanting to give the two of them some alone time. The four of us went back to our apartment and spent a leisure day of playing games and watching movies as a normal family would. If this is how our future days were going to be, my life will be complete. I have my sister, the woman I love, and two beautiful daughters, what more could I ask for.

Epilogue

It's been ten years since I've returned from my imposed exile. Nanoha and I have retired from the TSAB, and Vivio and Einhart have taken our places.

Ali and Destiny made their own family, a boy and a girl, Thoma and Lily.

Lulu's mother made a full recovery after three years in a coma. Once she was able to, she adopted Caro and Erio.

Hayate is still the Commander, but she delegates most everything through Griffith, as he became her second-in-command. She has been known to disappear for months on end with Signum, Vita, Shamal and Zafira. Where they go and what they do they keep to themselves.

All things considered, I think we all made out rather well. I look forward to growing old with Nanoha, as we both have long lives ahead of us. I guess Nanoha's mother was right, everything does happen for a reason, and with enough faith, everything always works out in the end. I'm just saddened that her family can't be here to watch their granddaughters grow into the beautiful young women that they are.

A/N: Well everyone that is the last chapter. I'm hoping that the ending didn't seem too rushed with the epilogue. The Hayate part where she ends up disappearing may end up being a side story sometime in the future. As of right now, I have no plot for that and probably won't be posting anything for that anytime soon.
