Chapter thirty-six
...in the lair...
The orange clad terrapin had realised that couch was empty as he left the unwanted prisoner in the back room while he searched for the red haired mother to be.
"April?..."
"In the bathroom." April softly answered from the bathroom as she sat on the toilet after lowering the toilet top down. "Are you ok?" he asked, standing outside the bathroom. Opening the door, and stood in the doorway; leaning against the doorframe.
Wiping her mouth once more with a small piece of the toilet paper before replying the orange clad terrapin gently gazed with her tired glance. "Yeah...I'm ok." He walked over to his friend and knelt before her, gazing up into her green eyes as he gently brushed across her cheek with his knuckles. "Are you sure, April?" he asked, softly.
April softly smiled, gently grasped his hand and replied. "I'm sure."
They were disturbed by the sounds of the chain rattling, michelangelo hurried to the backroom and shot another tranq dart, which had pierced her side, just above her hip. The young woman had collapsed to the floor, after taking the dart out from her side and then finally onconscious from the tranquiliser. April had followed in, but remained back as she stood behind the orange clad terrapin, marvelled at the wolf girl's strength and versatility. "Oh my, she is strong."
"Where is the others as I dont know, how much I can handle been a guard dog or should I say, guard turtle." Michelangelo lowly whined then quickly corrected himself with alittle humor. "They should be back soon." April assured, gently grasped his shoulder. "I hope so." He replied, gently grasped her hand in return but acceptingly. He had flinched when the door had flung opened as the old rat had called out for assistance.
"My son, get the gurdy." Splinter insistently requested. "Right away, sensei." Mikey hurried to the infirmary to get the gurdy as instructed. "Oh no, what happened to Raphael?" April asked, worriedly glance upon the naked forest green skinned terrapin.
"We're, not sure." Leo answered, glancing upon his heavily onconscious brother. "I'll have to do some test to figure out what to do." Don stated, slightly panted.
Mikey returned with the gurdy as both donatello and Leonardo gently lifted then placed their brother upon the gurdy before hurriedly rushed him in the infirmary as they strapped him down in case of unexpected out lash.
...few minutes later...
Donatello walked out of the infirmary as Leonardo followed after brushing his knuckles along his brothers forearm. Wiping the excess sweat from his forehead and cheek. "He in a heavy deep slumber." Don stated softly.
"He is lucky to be alive as we almost killed our own brother." Leo spoke over top of the purple clad terrapin. "But we didn't." don lowly barked back. "Enough!" master splinter scolded.
Both terrapins stood in silence as instructed to be settle as while michelangelo and April stood close by, in sudden wary shock. April softly spoke, curiously wondered about their unknown guest. "What of the girl that is chained up? Maybe should unchain her leg and try to talk to her, calmly."
"That is if she will speak. She is more, seem to be a wild sheila then young girl in distress." Donatello stated, commenting scientifically. "What do you say, fearless leader?" Michelangelo wondered.
Softly tapped his chin, as he thought before answering. "Let's try and speak to her, on one condition. If she makes one sudden move, I will put her down permanently."
"She isn't an animal, Leo" Don quickly stated in low tone of protest. "She seems to behave like one as that is all we know of her behavior." Leo protested back. "That don't mean, we should behave or treat her as one." Don barked back, glaring his older brother as his actions weren't exactly what supposed to be.
Both michelangelo and April stood aside, watching and listening to the argument between the pair as this is not normal between Donatello and Leonardo. Quite abnormal persay...
"Enough, my sons. I will speak with our guest." The old rat stated, calmly walked to the back room as he was immediately inquired which had made the old rat to stop in his tracks. "Do you think that is such a good idea, Sensei?" Donatello inquired, worriedly.
"With you two, bickering over the incident of your brother's unexpected event. I will be the one, that shall speak with our guest." He replied, resumed walking to the room as he was followed by the silent blue-clad terrapin, Leonardo. Donatello sighed softly, then returned to the infirmary and checked upon Raphael as he too were followed by April.
...meanwhile in the back room...
"Sensei, should remain back away from her. Just enough out of her reach, incase she may attack." Leonardo suggested, gently. "Perhaps you may be correct, my son. But we must, learn why as this young woman is here and whom may had sent her." splinter replied, comfortably knelt down and waited patiently as his son, knelt down also.
...Back at Third Avenue—On the rooftop...
Agent Mendez knelt down, taking a further look at the body. Taking out his spare black pen and used it to lift the torn, bloody clothing when he had discovered that the victim's chest were torn open or clawed apart. "Hey buddy, we gotta move the body to morgue." Paramedic stated, gently. Agent Mendez sighed as he stood up and then placed his pen in a evidence bag before handing to the forensic officer. "Here, take this too."
"I'll be damn. Is that whom I think it is." A male voice proclaimed from behind, whilst walking towards the FBI agent. "Small world, little brother." Nicholas Mendez finally said, giving a small soft smile as he greeted his brother. "What on earth, you're doing here?" David Mendez inquired, puzzled. "I am here to help with the investigation as this happens to be same meno that has been happening over in Texas nearly a year ago."
"You're shitting me, right?" sergeant David Mendez, glanced his brother puzzled. Agent Nicholas Mendez shook his head, finally replied. "No, I aint shitting you."
"Hmm, either we have a copycat killer or possibly be the killer had resumed what he begun after a short while disappearing rest." Sergeant Ahang commented. "It would seem that way." Agent Mendez said after him.
"Better get to find new leads if, we ought to catch this murderous scum before he kills again." Sergeant Ahang encouragingly commented, before walking over to where the body once laid as it was been gathered up in the body bag and finally placed on the gurdy.
"What takes so long to pick up a body and take to the morgue for further autopsy, people?" Federal agent Mendez annoyingly hissed. "Had to ensure that gathered all, which could be vital to the investigation sir." Forensic officer replied, before wheeling the body away to the paramedic vehicle. Federal agent Mendez, grunted with a low sigh of annoyance when he received a call from the chief commissioner. "Yeah, federal agent Mendez speaking."
'Agent Mendez, I believe to have or may have the link to the puzzle. Better get here, immediately.' The commissioner chief replied. "A'right, I'll be there in a few." Hanging the phone before looking to his brother. "Chief commission Jefferson, wants us back at the station. He proclaims that may have the missing puzzle piece to the investigation."
"What are we waiting for? Let's get our butts back to the station then, Ahang." Sergeant Mendez replied before calling for his partner then went to the station.
"A'right, sergeant Mendez and Ahang. I believe we may have the puzzle link to the investigation. Ah, Federal agent Mendez. So glad, you could come. Please this way." The chief commission requested as he led the way to his office and then finally handed the large yellow envelope with other evidence from recent killings that had occurred in recent weeks; that were only just discovered by local forensics. "That envelope was just placed on my desk a few minutes with more photos and evidence that we are dealing with a serial killer and possibly a cannibal."
"Say again, commissioner?" Sergeant Mendez puzzlingly inquired, with an unfathomed glance. "You heard me right, cannibal. This serial killer, sometimes takes the hearts of his victims but apparently." He stopped as comfortably sat down in the chair before continuing his invoice, information of what he could tell by what was knowingly discovered. "The victims are just not random, they're most petty criminals that just been released from jail."
"Petty crims? Wait, a minute here. Are you saying that our serial killer aka cannibal could be a somewhat vigilante, portraying himself to be New York's version of the 'Jack the ripper'? That just aint right." Sergeant Ahang lowly stated with confused comprehension.
The chief commissioner shrugged his shoulders slightly and replied. "That is exactly what I am saying. Right now, have to get to the bottom of this before the media gets their claws on the scoop for the following nine o'clock news. Especially I don't want to be answering any questions that I can not answer, so get out there and find this bastard so we can bring him to justice before he kills again." He ordered gently.
The two NYPD sergeants and FBI agent left the commissioner's office and went to do as requested. When FBI agent Mendez took out his phone and called in to the morgue, requesting a full autopsy of the body and return with immediate results.
Sergeant Ahang called to FBI agent Mendez gently. "Hey agent Mendez, how about we go get something to eat while investigating this crime scene further then head to the morgue?"
"Sure, but I rather to go straight to the scene then to the morgue as I am waiting for the results though." Agent Mendez answered. "A'right then."

Will they find that they are chasing a young female with lycanthrope traits or just mentally ill-fated teen with a hatred for the world that believes to be werewolf and feasts upon the hearts of her victims? Hmm...i wonder, have to hang on your panties and wait then see. Mwahahahaha...
