Chapter 11

Author's Note: Greetings. I'm sorry I don't update so regularly. Procrastination is my worst enemy right now that school is going to start. I'll complete this so don't worry about it going on hiatus but I can't guarantee the regularity of updates at all. I'm a poor excuse of an author so do forgive me.

Xxx Destiny Aitsuji xxX

Eustass woke up to the sound of a shrill woman's voice. She sounded like the bitchy red head he knew as the insane crew's genius navigator.

With bleary eyes, Eustass looked up and deadpanned. There was Nami, arguing with an intellectual Sea King about whatever she had dropped in the water.

"Did you drop gold, diamonds or a treasure map?"

Nami was drooling at the mention of materialistic items. "All of them~"

"Kappa… I'll ask again. Did you drop gold, diamond or a treasure map?"

Nami snapped. "I said all of them you stupid monster! Why can't you understand?"

She threw a shoe at the Sea King which howled in agony.

"Oh no. This can't be good…" Eustass thought as the Sea King lowered its gaze to Nami, scrutinizing her.

"Die greedy human! You shall have none of it!"

Nami cowered in fear as the Sea King prepared to strike her. Eustass dashed in and kicked the Sea King.

Nami was relieved when she heard a loud splash. At least now she was safe. "Thank you…" she began and Eustass smirked. What he had not expected was a kick to his face while the woman screamed. "Now you made me lose my berries!"

Eustass snapped. "Is that how you thank a person who just saved your sorry ass?" Nami seemed not to acknowledge that fact and opted to shout instead, "I don't care about that! Return me my berries now!"

Eustass fumed and considered slitting the throat of that woman open. She was annoying from the start with how she bossed people around. He never liked her and now he was positive he hated her existence. "That bitch…"

While he was busy cursing his luck, Nami had already jumped into the sea. The splash snapped Eustass out of his thoughts. "What the…"

Nami swam deeper, in hopes of getting back the bag of money. It was the last bit she needed to be able to buy back the village from Arlong… "I can't give up now…"

The need for oxygen burned and Nami fought the urge to get back to the surface. "A little more…" she thought. Then she spotted it. The bag was resting at the bottom on the back of something. Nami did not care what it was. She ignored the danger and swam for it.

The bag moved before she could reach it and Nami cursed silently in frustration.

Eustass had seen how the woman was in danger. The bag of money lying innocently on top of a Sea Cow seemed more important than the aspect of being eaten by the Sea Cow. Eustass never knew women could be so stupid. What was with that money she was so obsessed about? She would rather lose her life for that meager sum he could have easily gotten by wiping out an entire village than forgo it.

Eustass punched the Sea Cow hard before catching the bag of money and dragging the semi unconscious woman back to the surface. Eustass spluttered for air and hauled both deadweights back onto the boat Nami stole earlier. He hated how gravity affected him so much when he got out of the water. If he had not eaten the devil fruit he would have been surfing behind his ship every day. Thanks to Des he now had that luxury to experience the joy of being in water even if circumstances are slightly direr.

Nami did not regain consciousness after a while and Eustass cursed. He checked for breathing and realized that she was not taking in any air. Eustass hated doing this because the only person deserving of any form of affection regardless the situation should always be Law.

Eustass mentally apologized to Law for doing something so disgusting. He breathed in and closed his eyes.

Nami spluttered and came to life much like an old engine on a rickety car, although that was only Eustass's personal opinion. He grimaced and spat. She tasted awful and he was thankful this would probably be the only time he had to do it.

Nami's eyes came to focus slowly and she saw a man with black hair and piercings glaring at her. He was the one who saved her twice from an unfortunate encounter with Sea Kings.

"Your stupid money…" Eustass growled and pointed to the soaking bag. Nami sighed in relief.

"Th-thank you," she whispered and Eustass merely grunted.

"What's with you anyway? I never seen people so money crazy they would throw their lives away."

Nami snapped back, "Shut up! What do you know? It's not like I had a choice… if I fail this time…" she suddenly stopped talking and looked away. Eustass's interest was perked.

"What will happen if you fail?"

Nami bit her lower lip. He was a stranger and nothing more. "It's none of your business. You helped me out and I thanked you so we are quits."

Eustass frowned. "Hey lady, that's hardly a fair trade if you ask me."

Nami glared at him and spat, "So what now? You want my body? Is that it?"

Eustass snorted. "I never thought you were the cheap kind. Unfortunately, I don't like a woman's body. They break too easily."

Nami blushed and held back the urge to kill the man who just helped her out. "Then what do you want?"

Eustass eyed her for a while. "Tell me what you are doing with a suspicious amount of money and on a stolen boat no less. I might report you to the authorities if you are lying."

Nami paled. She had come too far to lose everything. "You wouldn't…"

Eustass grinned. He knew he had the woman cornered. "Now spill."

"I see… looks like you have plenty of reasons to act like a bitch."

Nami's eye twitched. Eustass ignored it and continued, "Then again, don't you think those idiots you mentioned don't deserve this treatment?"

Nami's initial annoyance vanished and was astonished. Sure, she felt guilty about it but no one else would have thought it that way. She did steal from the people who saved her after all.

"I don't know. The world is never kind to anyone. If I don't do this then I would come to regret it. I'll make it up to them when I do meet them again."

Eustass sighed. It was true that the world was a cruel place. With corrupted people ruling it, the world was bound to breed hatred and incur more tragedies. Eustass was no exception.

"I guess you are right but I highly doubt those people will let you go that easily. I mean they are idiots after all."

Nami face palmed. "That was what I was worried about. If they mess things up for me, there is no knowing what would happen to me."

Eustass nodded in agreement. "Well, in that case I can only go over and guard the gold you have saved up. I'm sure with this much amassed someone will try to sabotage your plan."

Nami nodded. "I have Nojiko to help me but an additional helping hand is good. I don't know why but I can trust you to guard it for me. My name is Nami."

Eustass smiled. "My name is Eugene." The moment Eustass shook her hand a strong electric current flowed through his body, paralyzing him. "Wha-…"

Nami's evil smirk was the last thing he saw. "As if I would trust a suspicious looking person like you!"

Eustass fell into the sea and sank. He cursed. Somehow he was not mad with her because he knew she would not be one to give in so easily. "Straw Hat is blessed with such a woman on board… I hope I would never have to deal with her again… I really hate women."

Des looked satisfied at the glowing orb. It was slightly smaller than the size she needed but it was of no concern. With Eustass's efficiency she would be able to restore Law's time.

"Welcome back," she greeted as Eustass fell from above and landed with a hard thud.

"Welcome back my shitty ass! What the hell was that? I did not return here before I met up with that bitch!"

Des shrugged. "I never said you had to…"

Eustass silently cursed all the female population on Grand Line.

"Anyway, you will be glad to know that there is only one more person I need you to help out before I can get started with restoring Law's time."

Eustass perked up. "Who is it?"

Des smiled. "Think, who else is there left?"

Eustass recalled. He had helped the creepy all-knowing archaeologist, the lying sniper boy, the furry doctor, the cook who had fire phobia, the asshole of a skeleton, the stubborn moss head, the money loving navigator and the human Pacifista.

"The captain!"

Des smiled angelically. "Well done! Give the boy the trip of his life…" with that Eustass was swept off his feet by some random tsunami Des concurred.

Eustass cursed and was swept away by the tide. "Now what?"

Author's Note: Don't worry it's not going to be the last chapter… this one is just right for my usual style of writing Sorry if you found it disappointing or short. Can anyone guess what kind of trouble Luffy would face? A hint: Something common enough on the Sunny.
