Now the boy that stood in the middle of the room, about the same height as Arthur, perhaps a little taller by not more than a few centimeters, and he began to search through things in the dimly lit room. From another spot came ball that would seem as fire spurting through the air. When actually a certain tangle of tings, and strings were heard moving around.
"Shh Yao. We don't want to wake them up. Now help me look for the piece of wood." By which the boy actually meant, a note book. And to be more specific, Arthur's beige colored journal, filled to the brim with made up tales of Peter Pan and his adventures.
From fighting the great tempered Dragon Klos that lived up top the highest peak in Never Land, the arrival of the Jolly Roger, to even the Great Treasure Hunt. There were so many little tales all written in that rather large book, by height, not in thickness; one wondered how Arthur managed to come up with them all.
And he probably would've been more astounded, not quite as much as little Peter Darling; that the hero who reveled in his stories, now stood in the nursery, right next to his bed.
"I bet you ten never berries that you will probably wake someone up.~aru" The pixie cursed under his lips and started making his way around.
"Yao... you go find it out there and keep a look out of the adults while I check this place out." Peter Pan asked his little assistant. The little pixie replied in tings and tangs with an annoyed grunt.
"Alfred! Why do I have to do all the hard work~?! Why no I look for the wood, and you stand guard? You big..." But it seemed Yao's complaints would not be tolerated, and so he mumbled irritant to himself, flying dismally outside the nursery.
"Hey hey, that name stays between you and me, ya little imp." Alfred said. He'd changed his name for reasons and preferred to keep it that way. He then just smiled finding it rather adorable how little Yao's temper just amused him. It seemed fitting for something so small.
That's when Arthur stirred, to flip to the other side of the pillow, groaning in his sleep. And it caught Pan's attention.
Gliding over the nursery carpet, he approached the large bed, and hovered over Arthur curious. Though from the windows had he stalked and stared at this boy, who made him famous in small ways, he felt admired, only ever boosting his cocky ego. Peter swallowed his breath, in through only his nose, watching the other sleep.
Arthur turned to the front; almost his body knew there was another, right above him, but his mind entirely somewhere else.
In Neverland, like the rest of his brothers, they all had their adventures on the island. The island belonged to all children, and in their sleep, so long as the nightlights guarded them with their holy light, could they traverse this land with no fear. Little Pete for example often had many dreams of himself as Peter Pan fighting off Captain Hook.
Matthew's were more inclined towards forever searching for Mermaid Lagoon, or the Indians, or even the Golden Never Tree, where the faeries and pixies lived together. But Matthew, no matter where he goes, ends up hopelessly lost. Even if Kumajiro, who in Neverland, turns out to be a large Polar bear, could not guide him through the small terrain. Matthew cannot speak Bear, and the bear he just wants some salmon. So they end up near the river, every time with no luck at all.
Arthur well he dreamt of owning a home there, made out of leaves and vines, and all sorts of things. With a chimney and a door knocker, all put together just for him. He also dreamt of having his own faerie, and even a pet tiger. And other times... he dreamt of being a pirate aboard the Jolly Roger. One who did not fear Captain Ivan Hook, and had sailed the seven seas.
Smiling in his sleep, Peter giggled too, finding this all really interesting. But even in the dark, something started to reel his mind up. Right there, on the corner of the boy's mouth below... there was something. Not a spot, nor beauty mark. It just called Peter to it, and he completely forgot why he even came here. Now he just wanted to know what that thing called him for.
Arthur breathed out, the hot air tickling Peter's cheek, and it challenged the other not to break concentration. He reached out with his fingers, towards that corner of Arthur's sweet lips. So close was he, Peter did not notice their bodies touch, and his knee landing on the mattress.
Almost there, now their breath intermingling, he did feel a little woozy, and tilted his head in a manner that described just how perplexed he felt about meeting this strange young man. And spoke remembering what the other said previously.
'You're so lucky, never to have to grow up.'
"Hehe... I guess I am a little lucky."
Arthur at hearing a voice, right when their noses touched, did his eyes immediately flutter open.
That's when Arthur laid his eyes for the first time into a sea of blue starlight. The prettiest he'd ever have the chance to meet. Thinking it a dream, he closed his eyes... then fluttered them back open, they were still there. That's when he gasped abruptly, slowly but surely now feeling the weight of another body on top of him. So hard to pick up though, for it only felt as if someone put the lightest feather, next another sheet of fleece, he could not describe it.
Instantly Peter flew back, against the roof of the bed post, hitting his head.
"Tch... fuck!"
Right then, at hearing something speak and bump, Lili growled, ferociously towards the roof, startling the adults in one. She tugged gently yet with haste at her mistresses skirts, to show that they need to come up stairs, for a stranger had been in their midst the entire time. And Lili could only feel guilty for not being more attentive and caring with the brood her life was charged with.
"What iz wrong?" Elizabeth saw Lili was hesitant than ran all the way upstairs, her cup clasping against its saucer. Mr. Darling had already risen from his seat and followed the dog, with Mrs. Darling. The two Uncles peered at one another before also following along.
For a few minutes Yao quietly checked the drawers and then their contents carefully. And he found something interesting he might've added to his collection of objects back home. It was then at that moment, he heard Peter speak.
"FUCK! You a stupid ass~!" Quickly fluttering back to the room, now bright orange, and very alert, seeing Peter hit the roof.
"Serves you right. Now let's go!" Yao tugged on some vines that pieced together Peter's outfit, and then he went to open the nursery window and tugged on the heavy metallic hatch.
Peter caught one more glance at the boy, right then Lili barged down the door, Peter zipped out of the window, and she bit down on the streaking shadow, catching it in her mouth. A rubber sling that pulled him back, Peter looked back reaching for the farthest clouds trying to escape, but his shadow kept its sticky grip.
Yao quickly grabbed out his knife and severed the tie quickly before Mr. and Mrs. Darling would see both of them, even it was possible. Most adults cannot see either, for they do not believe, or have forgotten. But in this case, both Mr. and Mrs. Darling spotted a glimpse of his foot, before he escaped. When they reached the thin balcony right outside the nursery, first they peered down, not a body was left. Which then they turned their eyes to the rooftops, but no man could jump from there two the next house without plummeting to the street. So were else to look but the stars. Nothing. Perhaps they had imagined it? Yet Lili tucked the shadow trapped under her foot, afraid and shy she still had a solemn face. She'd sworn someone was here. But now the scent disappeared along with any other trace of the being.
And all that appeared a shooting streak and a winking star.
Arthur still frozen sitting up on his arms couldn't interpret what occurred, and touched his mouth, the traces of touches sunk into memory. Of course now Matthew didn't hear anything deep in sleep, neither did Peter. Arthur stood wide awake while his uncles entered in.
"Arthur... did you see someone in here?" His father asked, keeping sharp eyes just in-case.
At first Arthur would've said yes, but his mind instantly said, "No, no one stood here. Just a strong gust, blew the windows." Even he himself could not discern reality from fantasy.
Roderich kept a stern appearance, and then eased in once. It was rather windy this time of year.
"Maybe, your right." He Pat the boys shoulder before returning back down stairs with the other three men.
Mrs. Darling though, call it woman's intuition or sixth sense, knew someone's presence had been in this room. She could reach out and there the traces lingered. Even a soft scent of blossoms and leaves of a strange kind roamed merrily, with the echo of a haughty laughter.
She approached her son, eye to eye, and asked again.
"Arthur... is that true?" She cooed, brushing his hair, and catching that light flush dimming down from his cheeks.
At her... it seemed hard to tell lies. But no one would believe him if he said, Peter Pan.
"Yeah..." he chuckled smiling. "It was only a strong gust, nothing else." He replied giving her a reassuring smile.
Elizabeth nodded her head; she herself tucked him back into bed. But never once did she believe his words. Closing the window, and locking it well, she left the nursery, followed by her obedient dog. Lili still had the shadow in her mouth, which Elizabeth grabbed in her hands, and gazed upon the stretched out thin darkness. The shadow had no form of texture, complete air, yet she could grab it in her hands. Perhaps... she should inquire this with her husband. But the hour was late. She'd have to bring it up some other time. So in a chest in her room, she folded the shadow, like fine silk folded black ribbons, and locked the chest in the closet.
Lili returned inside the nursery, watching her post, and nary sleeping a wink. Though also a soft and gentle spirit, she had a duty to be charged with, and would not fail to catch the culprit this time.
EvilSamDroid9001: OMG... I realized just how confusing it is to write this, when Sealand's name is Peter. I hope I really don't confuse anyone as the chapters go on. But there will be a point where Alfred isn't going to be called "Peter" anymore and some characters will use his real name or something like that.
So sorry if it confuses you. Just know Peter Pan is America, and Peter Darling is Sealand.
Besides that enjoy the chapter.
