A/N: Thank you for the reviews. Please let me know what you think!

This starts right around the time of Twilight. I loved hearing your opinions on where Katie should be living. With the timeline, her and Sam would have only been dating for only about six months by the time Bella moved to Forks. So, as of now, she's still living at home with Charlie :)

The next couple months passed without anything major happening. Me and Sam continued to spend most of our time together when I wasn't at college and he wasn't patrolling. Dad had grown to like him, even if he didn't want to admit it. I had made several attempts to reach out to Leah, but she had been avoiding me since she caught me in Sam's house.

In December, me and Sam celebrated our first Christmas together. On Christmas Eve, I finally met his mom, Allison. I remember how nervous I was meeting her but, looking back, I know I had nothing to worry about.

Flashback

"Breath, Kate." Sam kissed my jaw softly, as if that was supposed to calm me down. All it did was make my heart race even more, but for a different reason. "She'll love you."

Me and Sam had been dating since July and I still haven't met his mom. I had been so busy with school that I hadn't had the chance to meet her yet. Last month, he made the plan for me and his mom to meet on Christmas Eve. He gave Jared and Paul the night off patrolling, but they were told to be on the look-out, just in case.

After a minute of waiting, he finally got out of the truck and helped out of the truck. As we walked up to the door, he laced our fingers together and squeezed my hand.

"Sam!" A dark haired woman opened the door and flew out the door and hugged him, as if she hadn't seen him in years.

"And this must be Katherine." She pulled away from Sam and looked me up and down.

"Kate, this is my mom, Allison. Mom, this is Katie." He introduced us. Before I could hold my hand out, she pulled me into a hug, much like she hugged Sam.

"It's so nice to finally meet you."

"Can we come inside now, mom?"

She blushed. "Oh, please come in!" She moved out of the doorway and allowed us to walk in.

The entire night went very well. Allison cooked a delicious meal and spent the entire night telling childhood stories about Sam. I thoroughly enjoyed it while he was embarrassed.

After we left her house, we went back to his house. My dad had decided that he wanted Christmas day to be just me and him, so me and Sam were exchanging gifts on Christmas Eve.

I knew Sam enjoyed baseball so I went and got baseball tickets for the Mariners in April. Watching him open the tickets was like watching a kid open what would be his favorite toy.

"Kate…" Over the course of a few months, Sam had taken to calling me Kate. I loved it, since he was the only who called me that. "You didn't have to. You're going with me, by the way." He kissed my forehead.

Sam had gotten me a necklace with a tiny K hanging from it. Also on the chain was a house key.

"So, you know that you're welcome here anytime you want." He explained when I noticed the key.

Sometimes, it was hard to remember that we had only been dating for a few months. With the imprinting aspect of our relationship, we both knew that we were it for each other. We haven't said told each other that we loved each other and hadn't sex yet. But it still felt like we were very serious.

End

Now, it was January and I had just started my spring semester. Sam had been spending a lot of time patrolling, along with Jared and Paul. So, I had a little bit more time to devote to my school work, which made my dad happy.

A week ago, I found out that my little sister, Bella, was moving up to Forks, from Phoenix, Arizona. I was very confused on why she wanted to, since she absolutely Forks and the weather here. Then I found out that mom had gotten remarried to a minor league baseball player. He traveled all over the country for his job and Bella was being selfless and moving up here to allow mom to travel with him. I thought the notion was nice, but it wasn't one that I think I could have made. Still, I helped dad set up Bella's old room for her arrival.

I opted out of going with dad to the airport since I had some school work to catch up on. That and I wanted to avoid the awkward car ride from Port Angeles back to the house. Dad had a surprise coming for Bella and he thought it would be a good idea if I was here in case they showed up early, which it did.

Billy Black and dad had reconciled a few weeks back, which worked out in dad's favor. Billy had an old beat up truck that he no longer drove since he was wheelchair bound. His son, Jacob, had no interest in it, planning on building his own car, so dad managed to get it off Billy for a decent price. I was so glad that he didn't try to get that for me for my first car. I had a blue Sentra that I loved to death. It was paid for and since me and Sam started dating, it was actually being taken care of like it was supposed to be.

Once I heard the cruiser pull into the driveway, I closed my laptop and started mentally preparing myself for what was coming next. Me and Bella never really got to know each other, since we only saw each other a few times a year.

I got out the front door right as dad closed the trunk to the cruiser. In between the cruiser and my Sentra, was Bella's new car. I remember the faded red truck like it was yesterday. Before the car accident, Billy would drive me, Rachel, and Rebecca around La Push and Forks. As kids, we thought it was the coolest thing in the world. While the truck held memories, I never wanted it to drive.

"Hey Bella." She turned and looked at me. She looked the same as she did a few months ago. Her pale skin stood out against the dark brown hair and eyes that she had. Bella made it look pretty, when most couldn't.

"Hey Katie." She awkwardly waved back. Deciding to save the formalities, I helped get her stuff upstairs into her room. I noticed her look of horror when she realized that the three of us was sharing the same bathroom. I guessed she wasn't used to sharing a bathroom in Arizona.

Once we got her stuff in her room, we left her alone, per dad's request. Dad said that Bella liked her own space, according to mom. So, I went back to my room while dad went back downstairs to watch TV.

A few minutes later, I heard a soft knock on my door. I got off of my bed and went to open the door. I don't know who I was expecting but I was surprised to see Bella there.

"How is Forks High School?" She asked me, almost as if she was unsure if she could ask.

"It's small. They'll treat you like a new toy. But be yourself. You'll be fine." I smiled at her.

"Will you be there?"'

"I'm just graduated, but you'll be okay. I promise."

Dinner time proved to be just as awkward. Usually, Sam would come over and he and dad would spend most of the dinner talking about the latest baseball game. Dad decided that for a while, dinner time would just be me, Bella, and him. No Sam.

"How are your classes going, Katie?" He tried filling the silence with conversation.

"Good."

"What are going for?" Bella spoke for the first time since we sat down at the table.

"Elementary education." I answered proudly.

"That's what mom has a degree in." She said. I tried hiding my frown, but I don't know how well I did. I didn't want to be compared to either one of my parents. I felt like education was the path for me and it worked it out that neither one of them had it as a profession... or at least that's what I thought.

After dinner, it was decided that me and Bella would split up the cooking so neither one of us would be doing too much of it. Once I had the dishes cleaned, I told them goodnight and went upstairs. It was raining outside so I knew I would be sleeping well tonight. The last thing I remember before falling asleep was hearing Bella cry.
