A/N: It's me again! You probably didn't expect to see an update this soon but here it is! I know that some characters may be painted in a bad light, but it's course that my story is going and before it's all over with, everything will be explained! Promise

Thank you so much for your reviews, follows, and favorites. They greatly encourage me and make me want to update faster.

Question: How do you feel about a smut scene, featuring Sam and Katie? Let me knows in the reviews or a private message.

Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight... oh but if I did...

Please read the note at the end of the chapter :)

The joys of being in college meant being able to pick my classes. My latest class ended at two, so I always beat everyone home, which meant I had time to be alone. Sam had called me earlier to let me know that Billy and Jacob Black would be coming over today around the same time that dad got home from work. Billy and Sam were taking this very seriously.

Edward had been picking Bella up for school and dropping her back off afterwards. I hadn't told Sam this because I was getting tired of constantly hearing about it. It was like the pack alpha now came before him being Sam.

I stayed inside as I saw the three different cars, beside mine and Bella's, in the driveway. It was hard seeing through the rain.

"I'm going to pretend I didn't see you behind the wheel, Jake," Dad said disapprovingly around the same time that I opened the front door.

"We get permits early on the rez," Jacob said as Bella walked into the house.

"Sure you do," Charlie laughed.

"I have to get around somehow." Billy said.

I stood in the door, watching anxiously as Charlie and Jacob helped Billy out of the car and into his wheelchair. I backed out of the way as they hurried in, shaking off the rain.

"Katie, it's so good to see you again." Billy nodded at me.

"Good to see you."

"You need to come down to La Push more often." It sounded like a request but part of me felt like it was a demand. Sam had been trying to get me to spend more time down in La Push because of Edward and Bella hanging out.

"This is a surprise," Dad said.

"It's been too long," Billy answered. "I hope it's not a bad time." His dark eyes flashed up to me again, their expression unreadable.

"No, it's great. I hope you can stay for the game."

Jacob grinned. "I think that's the plan - our TV broke last week."

"And, of course, Jacob was anxious to see Bella again," Billy added. Jacob scowled and ducked his head. Again? I thought. Jacob and Bella hadn't seen each other since they were little kids...

"Are you hungry?" Bella asked, turning toward the kitchen.

"Naw, we ate just before we came," Jacob answered.

"How about you, Charlie?" She called over her should. It was starting to bug me that Bella called dad by his name. Our mom may not have raised me, but I still called her mom.

"Sure," he replied, his voice moving in the direction of the front room and the TV. Billy followed in his chair. Jacob, on the other hand, followed Bella into the kitchen. Not really wanting to be in either conversation, I chose to follow Bella and Jacob after a few minutes of debating.

"So who was it?" he asked, setting two plates on the counter next to Bella.

"Edward Cullen."

To my surprise, he laughed. "Guess that explains it, then," he said. "I wondered why my dad was acting so strange."

"That's right." Bella faked an innocent expression. "He doesn't like the Cullens." For good reason, I thought.

"Superstitious old man," Jacob muttered under his breath.

"You don't think he'd say anything to Charlie?" She asked.

"I doubt it," he finally answered. "I think Charlie chewed him out pretty good last time."

"They haven't spoken much since - tonight is sort of a reunion, I think. I don't think he'd bring it up again." I butted into the conversation.

"Oh." Bella said.

After she finished dinner, we all went into the living room to watch the game. After a few glances at Bella, I realized she wasn't paying any attention to the game. Her eyes kept flickering in between the TV and dad and Billy.

As soon as the game was over, I made an excuse of how I had major test in the morning and darted upstairs before Billy could get me into a conversation.

When I got back up to my room, I had a few texts from Sam, asking about how the night went. I ignored them and started on my work, not wanting to let my mind dwell on how obsessed Sam was with keeping Bella away from the Cullens.

The next morning, I was getting ready to leave for college, when I heard a knock on the door. Bella had already left for school and I knew dad was at work. When I opened the door, Sam barged in, with no greeting.

"You haven't answered my phone calls or messages." He looked at me. Sam looked very pissed.

"I didn't realize I had to check in every few hours." I sarcastically bit back at him.

"Kate, I was worried about you." He rested his hand against my cheek. I had the urge to stop being mad but I held it in.

"No, you were worried about Bella." I pulled away from him. "Ever since she started talking to him, that's all you've been concerned about. We haven't been on a date. I'm tired of everything being about this. It's her choice!" I didn't want Bella with a vampire but she obviously knew by this point that she knew what he was and she was okay with it.

"He's a danger not only to her, but you." Sam looked at me. I shook my head and took off for the stairs, hoping that he got the message that I was angry. He grabbed my wrist, not hard enough to leave a bruise, but enough to grab my attention. Before I know it, my fist collided with his face.

There was one thing that I learned about Sam early on in our relationship. He was basically made of rock, which I was partially convinced he was. If I tried pushing him, he could very easily stand and not even be swayed, unless he allowed it. So, when I punched him, it shouldn't have been a surprise that it was me that was hurt and not him.

"Kate, are you okay?" Sam instantly started cradling my hand. I jerked it away from him and pulled in close to me. I didn't know what was wrong with my hand but I knew that it hurt like hell.

"Do I look like I'm okay?!" I took a deep breath and tried moving my fingers.

"It's broke, Kate." He informed me.

"You're not a doctor." I spat back at him.

"Let me at least take you to the hospital." He offered. Part of me felt like arguing with him but I knew the point was futile. So, I nodded and walked out the door. He grabbed my keys and my jacket while following me.

"It's broke." Dr. Cullen announced as he gingerly looked at my hand. The coldness of his hands actually numbed some of the pain which made me a bit happier. "Should I ask how this was done, Katherine?" He looked at me, not paying any attention to Sam, who was sitting in the chair beside my bed.

"I can't punch?" I weakly said. It was a terrible excuse. Anyone in Forks knew that if I was pissed enough, I could pack a punch. In 8th grade, I ended up giving Olivia Mallory a black eye. I was hoping that since Dr. Cullen wasn't here then, he wouldn't know.

He ended up giving me a splint and a prescription for some pain killers. I had to wear the splint for at least six weeks. Then, I was expected to come back for a follow up visit to make sure everything was okay.

"If you're gonna continue showing up, we should reserve you a room." Dr. Cullen joked. I thought it was ironic, since Bella was usually the one getting hurt out of the two of us. Sam growled.

After getting my pain medication, Sam took me back home. I was thanking God that dad had not gotten home yet. Bella's truck was in the driveway but I still was unsure if she was home or with Edward Cullen.

"Can we talk?" Sam asked after helping me unlock the door. He looked so pitiful that I almost said yes.

"I think you should go." I said, my heart breaking with every word.

I went back into the house and sat on the floor, feeling desolated. Was Sam and I broken up? It felt like it had been. We had been doing really well the past couple of months. I hated that I let my temper get the best of me but I knew I was too proud to admit I was wrong, at least right now. Before I knew it, I felt tears coming down my cheeks.

That's how Bella came home and found me. She awkwardly sat beside me and allowed me to cry into her shirt. Eventually, she got me to lie on the couch and covered me up with a blanket. As she walked into the kitchen, I allowed myself to cry myself to sleep.

When I woke up, I realized that I never took my pain medicine because my hand was throbbing. So, I got up and went into the kitchen to get the medicine and a glass of water.

"Katie." Turning around, I saw Bella, looking at me with concern in her big brown eyes. "Is everything okay?"

"It was just a misunderstanding." I told her, hoping she wouldn't probe.

"Your hand?"

"Accident."

Thankfully, Bella got the hint and wished me a good night and went back into her room. After taking the pain killers, I made it upstairs and fell asleep.

The next day, Charlie went fishing with Harry Clearwater, Leah's dad, and Bella was gone out of the house before I even work up. So, I spent most of the day in pajamas with my hair piled up on my head. I tried to keep myself busy by finishing what little laundry was left and cleaning the house as well as I could with one hand.

After I finished putting the laundry up, I started hearing voices in the house. I recognized one of the voices to be Bella, so I walked downstairs to see who the other was. In the kitchen, Edward Cullen holding Bella in his arms. Edward looked comfortably at ease while Bella looked like she was ready to jump out of her skin when I walked in.

"Edward." I nodded at him.

"Katherine." He politely said. "How is your hand?" He asked, so I assumed that Dr. Cullen had went home and told him.

"Better."

Bella looked very uncomfortable, thinking that I wasn't that fond of the Cullens.

"She knows." Edward looked at Bella, completely at ease where he was.

"How?" She looked very confused.

"Can't reveal all of my secrets." I gave her a weak smile before sitting down at the table.

Then we all heard the sound of tires on the brick driveway, saw the headlights flash through the front windows, down the hall to us. Bella stiffened in his arms.

"I'm going to bed." I announced, not wanting to be in here for this. Dad had a hard time believing that me and Bella were all grown up... He lucked out when neither one of his daughters were serial daters.

"Should your father know I'm here?" I heard him ask as I walked up the stairs.

It hurt to see how much Edward cared for Bella. I knew he was dangerous but it was hard trying to be so anti-Edward when I could see his feelings for her. It was obvious, like seeing Sam with me or Jared with Kim. He may not have the ability to imprint but he was crazy about her.

Note: I know Katie seems all over the place with what she believes but she's feeling torn between the imprint with Sam and seeing her sister happy. I was actually shocked that someone hadn't commented on it yet, but I wanted to go ahead and address it.
