Reviews:)
MariMart: Yeah, a dash of drama at the end haha
DramaQueen1989: Thank you! Yeah, somebody isn't gonna be a happy camper when he finds out. I hope you continue to read!
Brook-Lucas-Fan-23: Thank you!
LovelyBlue99: Yeah, I thought it was very fitting, almost like a scene from the Notebook when Noah and Allie almost did it and Fin walked in, saying that her parents had the cops out looking for her.
To say that the Chief was pissed was putting it very lightly. Dad has always had a big policy on honesty and up until now, I never really broke it. By the time I got back home, he was already on a plane down to Arizona to be with Bella, but I got chewed out for an hour on the phone.
A full two weeks, Bella and dad were finally back home, as well as the rest of Cullens. Bella had a broken leg, four broken ribs, and a cracked skull from tripping down a few flights of stairs and out a window. It sounded believable but I knew it was all a cover. However, I didn't know if I really wanted to know what happened, so I settled for the fact that my sister was alive and well.
I was still able to drive Edward's car, which made me happy. I had started to fall in love with it during my short time with it. Sam was not pleased with me driving a "bloodsucker's car", but he kept his opinion to himself after a few words. So, when they returned, I was very sad to give up the car.
Dad wasn't happy with me, seeing as I lied straight to his face and didn't go with Bella as I had told him. He had made it perfectly clear that he didn't want to see Sam anywhere near the house anytime soon. I could only imagine how he was going to react to me moving in with him. But, the tickets I had gotten for Sam's birthday came in handy. He offered to take dad and the two were back on the road to where they were before.
Mom flew back up with Bella, to make sure she got here safely. It was weird seeing her after so long. Neither Bella nor dad informed me that she was, so I was surprised when she walked through the front door and pulled me into a hug, then exclaiming about how both of her daughters were danger magnets. Thankfully, Bella got the attention from both of them, since her condition was worse than my broken hand.
Tonight was the high school prom, which Bella had no interest in going. Edward had tricked her into going to his house. I could only imagine her face when she figured out what exactly was going on. Bella was extremely uncoordinated, but it was worse with her broken leg.
"Katie?" Dad's voice drew my attention away from the game. "You know, I love having both of my girls here." He ran a hand through his hair, obviously uncomfortable with displaying his emotions.
"What brought this on?" He only showed his emotions during necessary times. He nearly cried when I graduated and was the loudest parent at the ceremony.
"With Bella's accident and you getting somewhat serious with Sam, I realized that I won't have you two forever…"
I still haven't gotten any better with when I should say words and when I shouldn't. Me and Sam had planned on telling dad next week that I was moving in with him.
"It's kinda serious, Dad. I'm moving in with Sam." Oops.
A Few Weeks Later
"Can you move it to the other side? I think it would look better that way." I instructed Jared and Paul. They both sighed, but moved the couch on the other side of the living room. They had been moving furniture around all day. Sam was currently putting together the one of the bookshelves that Bella bought as a housewarming gift. Jared had volunteered to help, but Paul was here as part of his "punishment" for bumping into me a few months ago. I tried to tell Sam that it was no big deal, but he was set in his mind. Besides, having the extra help was nice.
When I agreed to move in with Sam, we made the deal that we were getting some new furniture since his was old and ratty. We agreed to keep his bed, but most everything else was getting replaced. A few days after, I found a great deal on a couch and bought it without thinking. Thankfully, Sam liked it.
The said couch had been sitting in a storage building in Port Angeles, waiting to be used. Earlier today, the guys went and picked it up, along with a new TV and brought it back to La Push.
"Actually… can you move it back?" I asked sheepishly. Paul looked like he was about to make a comment, but Sam's hand connected to the back of his head, which shut him up before he even started. Jared started laughing then quit as soon as Sam did the same thing to him.
"Do what she says." He commanded.
It had been a few weeks since I broke the news to dad that I was moving out to go live with Sam. He hadn't taken it too well at first…
Flashback
"You're only eighteen." Dad informed me, as if I had no idea how old I actually was.
"That means I'm an adult and legal to make my own decisions." I shot back at him. He looked down, realizing that I was right.
"Dad…" I walked over to him and put my arms around him. "I'll still be your little girl. No matter what." He sighed and kissed my forehead gently.
"I love you Katie." He finally said, which made me hug him tighter. I had been living with this man since I was born and in a few weeks, I wouldn't be living with him anymore. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Absolutely."
"Then I guess you better pack…" He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. I kissed his cheek before running up the stairs.
Dad had been up here earlier in the day. He walked around the house a few times, inspecting it, before he deemed it acceptable for me to live in. He apologized for Bella's absence. I would have been more shocked if she did show up, Edward wasn't allowed down here and those two were inseparable these day.
Tonight would officially be the first night of living with Sam. It was weird being here all day like this, knowing that this was my new home, but I was excited. Me and Sam were ready for this step.
After the living room furniture was situated, I allowed the guys to take a break and watch the TV that they had set up earlier. Paul had complained that it was torture to see the new television sitting there while he had to help move furniture around. So, they were thoroughly happy to be able to watch a football game.
I decided to fix breakfast for dinner since I knew they loved it. It was my first time cooking on the new stove that the Cullens bought us as a gift. Sam thought I dipped into my savings account and I was too tired to even try to correct him.
An hour later, I had the eggs, sausage, hash browns, and biscuits on the table, ready for the guys. I didn't even have to call for dinner. The minute the food was set down on the table, they were already sitting around the table.
As the boys served themselves, I sat back and thought about how great life was going so far. I had just moved in with my serious boyfriend and we were extremely happy. Bella was living here in Forks and was happy with her boyfriend, Edward Cullen. Dad was disgruntled with both situations, but he kept it to himself most of the time.
I was one year into getting my degree in education, which thoroughly excited me. I had continued taking classes this summer, in order to take another off the total. I was hoping that I would have my degree by the time I was 20.
We had just celebrated Sam's birthday a week ago. He insisted that he didn't want anything, but I made him his favorite dinner, steak with fries. That was also when I told him about the TV. I knew that he tried to keep up with baseball and the guys were almost always over, so I thought it was a good investment.
A few hours later, we were finally able to get Jared and Paul to leave. They had gotten the game console connected to the television and were very consumed with playing it after dinner.
"We're finally alone." Sam's arms wrapped around my waist and pulled him in towards him. It never ceased to amaze me how perfectly we fit together. I sighed softly and leaned back against his chest.
"We are." I let a soft smile spread across my face.
A year ago, I wouldn't have imagined my life going like this. This time last year, Sam had broke up with Leah because he imprinted on me. I didn't think I could be this happy. Suddenly, I felt guilty. I hadn't heard anything about Leah since before Bella arrived in Forks earlier this year. I frowned.
"What are you thinking about?" Sam's breath tickled my ear as he moved my hair away from the side of my neck.
"Leah." He froze. Leah was a sore subject with him and I suspected that it always may be. He hated himself for hurting her. "Where is her happy ending?" I looked back at him. The look in his eyes was unreadable. Part of me hoped that she would have gotten imprinted on by Paul, but then I realized how much of a bad idea that was. They were both hot-headed.
"I don't know." He answered honestly. The mood was ruined and I felt bad.
"I'm sorry…" I turned around and faced him.
"It's okay Kate." His lips gently brushed against my forehead. "It's been a long day, let's go to bed." He took my hand and I followed him to the bedroom.
We changed into our pajamas and quickly climbed into bed. Sam quickly fell asleep, due to having patrolled last night and spending the entire day moving my things in and the furniture around. I stayed up and just watched him sleep.
Sam has always been mature for his age and it reflected in his face. I knew that the phasing had a part in it, but he always looked older than he really was. He had just turned 20 and he looked as if he was 25. But, he explained to me that as long as he kept phasing, he would always look that age.
When he was sleeping, the cares and worries of the world just faded away. He actually reflected of a child. As creepy as it sounded, I love to watch him sleep for that mere fact. When Sam was awake, he always had something on his mind, never taking a moment to just relax and be in the moment.
Knowing that I needed my sleep for my class in the morning, I kissed his cheek and laid down, allowing myself to fall asleep.
