Chapter 10:

Rio was not pleased. It had been two whole days since her husband had returned suddenly from his hunting expedition and yet, he was nowhere to be found. She'd checked his study and the stables, the war tents and the training ground, but he wasn't anywhere. Everyone she'd asked had no knowledge of his whereabouts. It had been humiliating enough when he'd refused to be present at their wedding—instead sending a proxy to sign his name—but now he wouldn't even show himself? Well, it had been long enough and she was determined to consummate their marriage that very day whether he liked it or not. After all, she was his wife, the Lady of the West. She deserved to be officially recognized. And she would be very soon.
