CHAPTER FIVE – Revenge

She didn't know where she was as she looked around her, until she felt the reassuring warmth of a body pressed to her back, strong arms holding her close, warm lips pressing searing kisses along her neck. Her eyes fluttered shut as she tilted her neck more. The room she was in was warm and stuffy and it was not just from the warm water that lapped gently at her skin. Slowly her hands found their way to soft, silky hair, and soon those lips met with hers in a kiss that had her blood coursing like fire through her veins. Slowly she turned to face her lover only to be swallowed in the depths of his darkened sapphire gaze, left a speechless mess as his hands slid down her sides pulling her closer before again he claimed her lips.

Serenity jumped up, hitting her head on a shelf in her small reading alcove. Her face felt flustered as she felt herself in her dazed panic making sure she was not naked and her room was empty. She panted slightly as she got up on shaky legs and stumbled to her bathroom, she had to find a way to cool herself off and quick. Glancing in her mirror she noticed what a flustered, disheveled mess she was as she stripped and jumped into her shower. Her body was aching, almost yearning for the touch she had felt in her dream. Frustrated with herself she growled out lowly, turning off the cool water and dried herself before dressing. "Damn that idiot!" she growled out.

'After that how am I even going to face him.' she grumbled as she brushed out her hair. She glanced at the envelope and sighed as she picked it up leaving her room. She wasn't sure how long she wondered around for but it had gotten late, she was shocked she had slept a whole day away as she ended up outside his chambers door. She looked down either side of the corridor before opening his door and slipping in. she looked around carefully for a suitable place to place her sweet revenge noticing a coffin with an alarm clock standing on it.

This had her curious as she ran her fingertips over it slowly deciding to put the envelope next to the rather offending alarm clock. "Such a pervert…" she mumbled as she spotted more of his "novels".

"I find that rather offending since you're the one in my room, when you shouldn't be in here." He watched as the sound of his voice made her freeze on the spot. "I see you brought a delivery for me." He smirked as she turned slowly to face him her face devoid of any color it once possessed. At this he raised an eyebrow questioningly. "Now about you been in my room, I wonder what punishment you should receive."

Serenity felt her heart stop as she looked up at him. She watched as he took the envelope and slowly opened it curiosity swimming in his eyes as he did. She swallowed hard as she watched him pull out the book she had made with the photograph on top of it. The book fell to the floor breaking the silence as she watched the bishop cover his nose.

With mild horror she realized she had given him a nose bleed. Grinning triumphantly she dashed out of his room as fast as she could, laughing at the priceless look he had on his face. She turned a corner narrowly missing Castor as she stopped by a pillar falling to her knees still laughing. "Ah his face was so priceless, idiot, that will teach him to mess with me in the future." She gasped as she stood up straightening herself out.

Castor raised an eyebrow, but smiled as he walked to the library.

In his room Frau stared at the provocative picture, he could not believe what he had in his hand. It screamed with appeal to him. Pictures though didn't do her justice. Frau couldn't deny he was curious to see her in the flesh the way she was in the picture. Perfectly nude only covered by her hands and hair her eyes holding innocence her face did not betray as she looked at the camera. He looked down at the book by his feet and picked it up not hesitating to open it. And what greeted him did not disappoint him either. There he sat a happy perverted bishop with a bad nose bleed as he continued paging through the book. "She wins this round… but would she last my revenge…" he chuckled as he hid the book away and placed the photo in his robe for safe keeping.

Serenity had managed to calm herself down as she assumed her human form and left the church for a day in town. She smiled as she wondered around looking at various stalls and shops. The various foods she found also interested her as she received many free samples from friendly stall owners. She smiled at street performers and little children as they played in the quiet streets. It was a peaceful place. Never in her life had she thought she would ever be down amongst the humans she watched over. It was different to what she had originally expected of it. It was an experience she found enjoyable. She was happiest when she found a library as she sat and lost herself in many various books, from romance novels to anything else that caught her attention. Been an angel her knowledge of the world was vast and unending but she was still new to the world of emotions. All she knew was when she had started developing feelings it felt like a flutter in her chest.

Frau walked through the passages towards the hall for mass, he knew that Castor would scold him if he missed it again, he could not stop the occasional grin on his face as he entered the hall. She had a dark side after all even though everything else screamed pure intentions but he knew there was more to her than met the eye. Firstly her age, her knowledge alone people would kill for, and if she had been watching him all of his very existence she knew all there was about him, all his deepest darkest secrets and desires. She had an advantage but she didn't seem to be using it at all, instead she was getting to know him like she didn't know a single thing about him.

She wasn't sure what or how much time had passed when she looked up from the last book she had taken to read, the sun seemed to be setting. She blinked and stretched putting her books away before she left. Outside evening had settled over the town and most residents were in doors as she walked towards the church. She smiled as she remembered everything she had read and learnt. She was unaware of the figure that lurked behind her.

"Long time, no see Serenity." His voice stopped her in her tracks.

Serenity felt her heart stop, but it was accompanied by a new emotion, one she could only place as fear at the sight of the one man she really didn't want to see.

"Ayanami… what a pleasant surprise, I did not expect to find you wondering the streets without your henchmen hot on your heels." She smirked trying to hide any sign that she was afraid.

"So did you think you could just sever ties when you are my servant?" he asked casually, yet his voice still rang in the quiet evening air with a dark air of authority that chilled her to the bone.

Serenity sighed and looked at him tilting her head to the side. "I never knew you were my master, my loyalties are to the people in this town I guard and watch over. I protect their happiness even if my wings are stained it's a mere trial before I get to go back."

"You know that will never happen since you were loyal to me for how long before I even sent you to that church. Remember who found you when you fell, not him, I did." He moved closer to her.

"Really Veloren you know I don't have time for this. You committed your unthinkable sin and for it you have been punished, don't take it out on innocent people." She scoffed.

"You're a fine one to speak fallen one… though can't imagine you speak from personal experience falling for that ghost." His eyes narrowed. "Don't push me to make you regret betraying me angel."

Serenity rolled her eyes as she looked at him. "I'm not afraid of you Veloren, you know on the battlefield we're equals." Her eye twitched with annoyance as she sensed his henchmen approaching them. "Lovely now your henchmen decide to come gatecrash the party." She sighed as she got ready to turn and leave.

"I didn't say you could leave…" he grabbed her arm before she could turn away pulling her against him. She reminded him so much of her, he couldn't lose her to the same man who stole his scythe and his rightful place either. Grinding his teeth in frustration he pushed a nerve ending watching as her whole body fell limp against him before she could protest against him.
