Me: hey peoples.

Unison: We don't own Soul Eater.

Maka's POV:

All was still. Everyone was holding their breath and searching for any sign of Arow. The quite lasted about five minutes before someone spotted something. I looked to my left to find a pink haired girl handing over the railing with another girl with black hair holding her steady. She was pointing to some point in the water and I followed he finger with my eyes to the spot she was pointing at. I squinted my eyes to see a purplish dot that was slowly getting bigger... fast. Soul gasped on my right and I turned my head to spot him with wide eyes. Without warning, he turned, grabbed me around the waist and yelled "HIT THE DECK!" before taking use both down.

I scrunched my nose in pain from the shock of hitting the floor but opened my eyes to find that all the crew members were sprawled across the floor shielding themselves and their crew mates with either their weapons or limbs. The ship started to shake like an earth quack and I instinctively held onto Soul who's arm was still around my waist and who's body was partially over mine. His head was in the crock of my neck. The rumbling didn't stop. Suddenly there was a beam of black and purple bursting out of the water and reaching past the clouds before thinning out into nothing. The burst caused water to spray up and mist down on the ship, soaking the crew once again.

Once the mysterious beam dissipated, the crew quickly got back to their feet and ran back to the railing. Soul slowly bot of me and silently reached out his hand. I shock my head to get out of my shock before grabbing his hand. He quickly hoisted me up and I mumbled my thanks as I dust myself off. I look up to see him staring at me blankly. I quickly get agitated and scowl. I point my finger at him, one hand on my hip and lean in, causing him to take a step back with a confused look on his face.

"Don't think this means I forgive you for what you did this morning." I say before running past him to go to the railing with everyone else.

"I-I don't see her!" came a whimper to my left, I look to see that its a pink haired boy holding a black sword close to his shaking body. I bring my attention back to the sea and gasp, cupping my mouth with my hand, the other tightly griping the rail. There was blood. So. Much. Blood. It spread past both sides of the ship and forward at least two-hundred feet. And it was so thick. Looking closely the blood was red but also black like ink could be found swirling in the pool. I sent up a small prayer, hoping that this didn't belong to I thought It did.

Soul moved to my right side and looked over the railing. He scowled and sighed. He moved away and called Kid over. Kid moved to Soul along with Liz and Patty. I wondered when the twins got here while they all huddled around each other but I shook it off as I looked back down at the water. Where was she? Oh God, let Arow be all rig-

"AWW! Pth! ick! Koff. Koff. Ugh. Do you know how grouse serpent blood is. Berrr. Nasty." I turned around sharply to see Arow on the other side of the ship, soaked and shivering with the serpents blood all other her. I ran to her and through myself onto her making use both fall over. I gave her a big hug and looked up.

"I'm so glad your okay! I thought you died! I was so worried!" She looked at me for a moment before patting my head and giving me a smile, quirking her eye brow.

"Wow Maka. Didn't know you had such little faith in me. That Hurts." She said with a laugh.

I looked down feeling guilty. She noticed and ruffled my hair and giving me a sympathetic smile.

"Hey. Hey. Its okay, I was just joking. No reason to feel guilty." I looked at her and smiled.

"Oka-"

"ARRRROOW! YOU SUCK! NOT ONLY DID YOU NOT BEAT YOUR TIME, YOU DIDNT EVEN GIVE ME A CHANCE TO FIGHT!" Arow's smile quickly left her face and was replaced by a scowl. She turned her head to the voice and snapped, sharp teeth bared.

"BLACK STAR. I WILL KICK YOUR BUTT STRAIGHT TO THE MOON IF YOU DON'T STOP YELLING!"

"BUT YOUR YELLING"

"I'M YELLING OVER YOU SO YOU COULD HEAR ME OVER YOUR EGO!"

"WHAAT?"

"WILL YOU BOTH JUST SHUT UP!"

"...Soul don't but into our conversation."

"What? Tch. what ever. Anyway. Arow, why'd it take you so long to take down that serpent? Your record is thirty seconds, this one took you five minutes. That and, don't you think you were cutting it a little close with that blast of yours? You almost scraped the side of the ship." I released Arow from our hug and stood up, Arow remind seated. That beam came from her? Wow. Arow sat up and rubbed her eyes before answering Soul.

"Yeah sorry about that. I was still a baby so it was difficult-"

"that was a BABY?!" I interrupted but quickly shut my mouth and apologized.

"Yeah. Its not like the adults who are more cautious and have a strategy that I can easily read and exploit. This Guy had an ego as big as Black Stars but the moment I struck it panicked and started thrashing around, making it harder to read its movements."

"Wow." I said. "you would think something that big wouldn't be scared of anything."

"Heh. Believe it or not there are thing even bigger then a fully grown sea serpent in these waters. That's why their blood is so discussing. Its-"

"Oh please! I bet its just because you've gotten soft, that's why you could beat the record or handle a little blood. HAHAHAHA!" Cackled Black Star.

"Is that right?" Arow purred with a sinister gleam in her eye. "How about we make a bet."

"Your on! What are the terms." Black Star said with a wide smile.

"Its simple really, see who could handle the serpents blood the longest. Winner gets the losers share of meat for a whole week." Black Star Put his hands on his hips and laughed

"Is that it!? Hah! Prepare to lose your meat. Wolf" Then jumped over the edge were the blood was, tsubaki running to stop him while everyone else watched.

"I win." Arow said with a sleepy grin.

"Huh? How?" I asked.

"If he had let me finish, he would have known that the sea serpents blood is its defense mechanism. The moment the blood enters the predator's mouth it will regurgitate from the bloods poison." She said with a knowing smile.

"But I don't remember you throwing up."

"My body has healing abilities that make be immune to most poisons or sicknesses. Black Star on the other hand.. well. Three, Two, One."

"EWWW! Someone get Black Star out of the water, he's upchucking everywhere, its smearing on the side of the ship." Someone yelled.

"WHAT! Get him out of there, I don't want him redecorating the side of my ship!" Soul yelled, throwing orders for someone to get some rope and stalking off to who knows were.

Arow's soft chuckle caught my attention and I looked over to her. She looked exhausted and pale, slumped over and eyes dropping. I quickly grew worried and bend down to see of she was okay, my hand resting on her shoulder.

"Are you okay, you don't look so good."

"Yeah... I'm fine... Its just the fight... The blast I shot... Takes away most of my energy... Its a last resort kind of thing... I'm gunna be out for a while..."

"How longs a while?"

"Not ... long... a few days. Maybe more... give or take." My eyes widened.

"Days?!"

"Maka..Yawn..Its fine..mhappens...all the time...nothing..new..." And with that she was out.

"Arow? Arow!" I shook her a bit to wake her but she was as out of it as the dead.

"Hey hey Maka. Calm down girl, she will be fine, it happens when she uses to much energy, she's just recharging her batteries. No big deal." Liz said from behind her. Maka got up and faced the Thomson sisters.

"What do you mean. She said she would be out for a couple days."

"That's it?" Patty chirped.

"Right, that's not bad at all, She's usually out for a couple weeks, months even. Couple days isn't bad at all. Besides she needs the rest." Liz said, Patty nodding her head with agreement. Maka couldn't help but stare, she was so lost.

"What?"

"Oh yeah. tch I forgot your new." How did she forget she was new? She just became a member of the crew that day.

"See, Arow doesn't sleep, so once she uses up all of her energy, she goes into a hibernated state and recharges." Liz explained.

"And she can go weeks without eating too!" Patty put in.

"Doesn't stop her from eating whatever she can get her paws on though." Liz added.

Things weren't adding up. How was all this possible, sea serpents, monsters, dragons, wolves with wings, girls who transformed into wolves with wings who turned into dragons. Her head was spinning from it all.

"How is this even possible..."

"Oh that's easy, see, dragons have multiple stomachs in order to store food so-"

"Not that." Maka interrupted Patties speech. " How is This possible, giant sea snakes, dragons." She shook her head and looked them in the eyes." How is it possible for Arow to turn into a wolf then a dragon? How is it possible that I could hear in my head? What's going on? Ow!..." Maka gripped her head, a headache was morming and she had to close her eyes to numb the pain. She opened her eyes and looked at the sisters expectantly. The girls looked at her then at each other and back again.

"We can't tell you, If you want to know what's going on your going to have to talk to Soul. Sorry Maka." And they walked off.

Maka looked down. She didn't want to talk to Soul, not after what he did to her. He make her nervous, angry and confused. One minute he attacks her, next he is protecting her, it made no sense. Maka looked at her hands. She needed to know what was going on with this place. There were so many questions she needed answered. About Arow, about this ship, its crew, about Soul, about herself. There was something about this place that felt familiar, nostalgic, but she couldn't grasp onto what it was and it was frustrating her. She tightened her hands into firsts and looked up.

If she was going to get answers she needed to swallow her nerves and speak to the only person that could give it to her. She walked across the dock, passed a moaning Black Star on a stretcher, and up to Kid who turned at her presence.

"Hello Maka, what can I do for you?"

"I need to speak with the captain."

She was going to talk to Soul.
