Hi... awkward silence... I've finished with my exams so now I can update my stories more often now considering that I am on holiday! I AM GOING TO GO CRAZY LIKE HAVE A FRIENDS MARATHON OR READ HARRY POTTER OR GO ON TUMBLR UNTIL 3 AM! I will also go crazy by updating my stories, fret not. I know I left you all on a cliffhanger but here it is chapter 10... Don't forget to review!
He Liu yelled something in Chinese but Jack was too weak to attempt to understand what He Liu had said. But everyone knew what he had said when a member had come back in with a gun and pointed it at Jack.
"Shoot me then." Jack called out on their bluff but then realised what they were actually threatening to do when he pointed the gun and Milton, Jerry, Rudy and Kim.
"How about he shoots them instead?" He Liu asked as Jack's eyes widened. "You see Jack, everyone has their weakness. Yours is your family."
"What's yours then?"
"We both know that I'm not 'everyone'." Jack grimaced at He Liu. "We also both know that you would do anything to keep your friends and family safe."
"Jack don't." Kim said.
"Keep her quiet."
"Leave her alone."
"There's only one way to keep her safe, to keep them all safe."
The gun was still pointing at them. Jack looked at He Liu dead in the eyes. Into the eyes of a liar and a murderer. He Liu was right, he had found Jack's weakness. Jack had to save those he loved. Stupid heroics.
"So Jack. Will you join us?"
"Yes..."
"Jack no!" His friends yelled.
"Thank you Jack. I knew you wouldn't let us down." He Liu turned to the man holding the gun. "Take Mr Brewer to room 3."
It was agony for them to watch Jack get hauled out of the room and once he was out, He Liu turned to the rest of them.
"I'm so sorry that we couldn't spend more time together but... Jack knows where he belongs. I wished that there would have been no more damage besides on Jack's part, although you can not make an omelette without breaking a few eggs." He Liu smirked at them. They were bashed and broken and barely standing. "The Black Lotus is a group with incredible technology. You have all had the opportunity to see it first hand. So tell me. If there were four people who know things that you didn't want them to, if you couldn't kill them, what could you do?" He looked at them individually with his eyebrows raised and his smugness sticking out like a flag for all to see. "You, no.429 and 583, take them to room 16 for the treatment."
They were all shoved out into the corridor. Kim paid attention to all the room numbers. They left room 101 and walked down the stairs until the came to room 16. Kim realised that they only had to go to the near end of the corridor to get Jack if they could. And they were going to... they just needed to work out how first. When one of them opened the door, he walked in and the other one pushed them into the room. There was no one else in there apart from them. Kim got Rudy's attention and pointed to the man guarding them at the back while she signaled that she had the one at the front.
Rudy turned around to face the guard but had to look up. He was huge! But that means he down below was well exposed. Rudy being the cruel man he likes to think he is, kneed him where the sun doesn't shine. At the same time the other guard turned around hearing the commotion but got Kim's high kick to the face. Rudy took the guard out while he was down and Kim punched and kicked the other one until he blacked out.
"Well that was awesome." Jerry said who was just standing there.
"Yeah it was. And thanks for the help you two." Kim scowled.
"You seemed to have it covered." Milton replied. "Come on, let's use their knives to cut us free."
After freeing themselves and tying up no.429 and no.529, they to see if anyone was coming.
"What are we going to do now?" Asked Jerry.
"We get Jack."
"And?"
"And leave with Jack."
"How?"
"I think I remember the way to the garage. There has to be a door there somewhere for the vehicles to get through." Kim replied quickly.
"What about the guards between here and the garage?"
"When we have Jack, at least one of us will have to support him because of his ankle. The rest of us will fight whoever comes."
"What if there are people in the room with Jack?" Milton asked.
"We take them down."
"What if they've moved him since then?" Jerry asked.
"We look for him."
"What if-"
"No more 'what ifs'! We are going to get Jack now if you like it or not!" Kim yelled whispering.
They all wore frightened expressions because no matter what the Black Lotus could throw at them, it could never be scarier than Kim when she's angry. When Kim's angry, she beats people up so it was a good thing that they were in a building full of people she wanted to beat up. Especially that He Liu... Milton checked if the coast was clear from either side while Kim took the key cards from the guards that could assumedly open every door in the building. They hoped it could get them into room 3.
They sneaked out of the room to the end of the corridor when the pre-penultimate door was. Kim took the key card and held her breath before grabbing the handle. Jerry with his ear against the door told her that he couldn't hear anyone. Kim took one last quick breath before opening the door.
"Hello." A voice said.
Please don't hate me for the cliffhanger but I wanted to end it there. It seemed like a good place to end it. Now I must dodge your spears and pitchforks while reminding you to review and while I tell you that I hope to update this soon. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
