Hero to Zero Chapter 7
Monkey shifted. Throwing the sword to one side and his body to the other. His scream echoed around the field, as he was forced to shift his knee painfully. The sword embedded in the ground too close for comfort. "Buying yourself a few more seconds hey Monkey. I swear you masters never quit… do you?" Bo jeered, as he pulled the sword out the ground for another attempt. "Now hold still!" Bo screamed as he brought the sword fiercely downward in a slash aimed at Monkey's chest. Monkey seeing this lashed out quickly catching the side of the sword sending it off course to land harmlessly next to him. Wincing as his knee stung.
Bo growled as Monkey taunted him; trying to get him to attack in a way he could counter in his current state. "Come on buddy, that all you got?" Monkey forced himself to sit upright and stared at Bo. Looking at him with anger, Bo swung heavily trying to decapitate the primate. At the last second Monkey acted. Throwing one arm behind him he managed to dodge under the swing. Monkey grabbed Bo's arm that was holding the sword and twisted aggressively, forcing the sword to clatter onto the ground. Taking his chance he grabbed the sword, feeling its weight and knowing he would not be able to use it effectively. Deciding his options he came to the conclusion he couldn't use it but neither did he want Bo to either.
Seeing Monkey sitting on the floor holding his sword Bo backed off, ordering his followers. "Get my sword back you fools!" adding when he saw some of them raise their weapons "No killing him that's my pleasure." Grinning as he said this thinking about killing the troublesome master. Monkey decided quickly and before any of the wolves reached him, threw the sword high into a nearby tree where to his pleasure it got stuck out of reach.
"Fetch." Monkey joked looking at where the sword was stuck. Looking back at Bo he was met with a forceful fist that sent him flat out on his back, dazed.
"Get my sword back!" Bo shouted at a bunch of wolves. "So I can teach this worm a lesson." He shot a glare at Monkey before turning to watch the wolves fail at climbing the tree
"Master." One of the wolves not climbing the tree came up to Bo obviously fearful of him.
Before Bo could answer, Monkey decided to interject. "Sorry I'm busy right now can I…" this joke was stopped by Bo's boot to Monkeys head.
"Shut up he was talking to me" Bo huffed.
"Really?" Monkey replied barely able to think straight. "Because I thought you were no more a master then they are." He stated indicating the wolves trying to climb the tree, as a wolf fell out of the tree landing unconscious at its base.
"I'm going to make your death so slow and painful." Bo seethed before turning back to the messenger "what is it?"
"We found these two near the blockade." The wolf motioned for some more wolves to bring forth the two he was referring to. One was a male Tiger his fur rough and dirty, his height was similar to Po and Bo and he was well built. His marking were similar to Tigress's but differed slightly on the forehead. He was wearing just long black shorts and sandals. The other was a female leopard who bore no distinct marking. She was slim but strong, slightly shorter than the tiger and dressed in similar attire including a short sleeved white vest. They were both as dirty and unkempt as each other. Indicating to Monkey they didn't follow the wolves willingly.
"Who's in charge here?" the leopard demanded, displeased as she shrugged off the wolves trying to lead her over to the panda.
"I am." Bo stated not hiding the fact he was admiring the leopard.
"What is the meaning of this?" She demanded covering up the shock that plastered her face for a second. "And who are you?"
Bo smiled before addressing her question. "The meaning of this is we decided no one is leaving the Valley Of Peace, or finding out about us and running for help." Bo held his arms out as if letting the leopard look at him properly. "As for who I am, don't you recognise the Dragon Warrior when you see him?" she shot him a look that suggested she didn't, or didn't believe him. "No?" Bo looked surprised "Master Po of the Jade Palace?"
"You are not Po!" Monkey shouted outraged at the panda's disgrace of his friend.
"Master Monkey. I forgot about you for a moment." Bo said turning to look at the monkey who had been laid behind him the whole time. "Don't worry I'll deal with you shortly." His voice sounded menacing as he talked to the injured master. Looking at the wolves that were retrieving his sword he was delighted to see they almost had it.
"What are you doing?" it was the tiger that spoke this time. Bo turned and walked up to him almost in the tigers face as he spoke trying to intimidate him.
"I am demonstrating what happens to those who cross me and ignore my warnings and threats." The panda growled earning another growl in return from the tiger as they stared at each other, both refusing to back down.
"Master"
"WHAT!" Bo screamed at the wolf refusing to look away from the tiger.
"Your blade master." The wolf said, producing the retrieved sword.
"Finally." The panda smiled, snatching his sword from the wolf. "Hold him down" Bo commanded, making his way towards Monkey. The wolves jumped at monkey, two holding onto each arm and another sat on his good leg holding his tail.
"Get off!" Monkey screamed, panic rising. The panda descending down upon him. Monkey struggled as much as his knee would allow, wincing at the pain as he tried to shove off his restraints.
The panda laughed as he approached the soon to be dead simian. "Monkey Monkey Monkey don't worry" he chuckled "even after everything you've done, I'll make this quick." Leering over Monkey he raised his sword ready to bring it down in a swift arc at the helpless Masters head.
Monkey closed his eyes waiting for the blow, he almost chuckled as a though jumped into his defeated mind. He was going to be killed by Po well he looked like Po; the person who gave him and the five their life back was about to take it. He was going to die, just like Po and Tigress did by the hands of friends.
"Any last words?" The panda questioned standing over Monkey. Opening his eyes staring evenly at the once comforting face seeing an alien Monkey closed his eyes again, accepting his fate. "No? Well then" The panda huffed hoping for a little bit of begging.
As soon as Monkey closed his eyes acceptance washed over him. Waiting for the blow to come without fear, he felt so in tune with what was going around him. He could hear the trees blow in the wind, he felt at peace and all the pain of his body felt distant. He could hear the swish of the sword above him, waiting for it impact… but it never came.
Instead he heard an impact above him opening his eyes to see a black white and orange blur fly to the right.
