Hi, everybody! I hope you all are doing well. Let me start by telling you all that I will out of town next week, but I will not have access to the internet. I'll do my best to get two chapters out the following week; I hate to be so, for lack of a better word, scattered in my updating schedule. Besides that notice, all I've got say is this chapter follows Kim, and I hope you enjoy it! Disclaimer: Kim Possible belongs to Disney.

(Kim's POV)

Monique shakes my shoulder vigorously. I roll over on my back and shoot her a nasty look. Her feigned look of offense cracks us both up. She sits back on her heels as I slowly roll to my side and sit up. The smell of homemade pancakes, sausage, and eggs wafts into the electric blue bedroom and blankets every inch of it. I wipe the sleep from my eyes and pull back the dark teal comforter and pale yellow sheets on Monique's bed. It's weird to think that sharing a bed for a sleepover as middle schoolers was strange but that doing so as now high school graduates is so not the drama.

Monique yanks my arm and pulls me out of her bed; I'm still in my red heart pajamas. She continues to drag me into the kitchen where her dad is busy making breakfast. Monique releases me and runs up to her dad, hugging him from behind. He laughs and tells us both good morning. Then he has us sit at the breakfast table and serves us both three huge buttermilk pancakes, two sausage links, and two eggs how we like them; I ask for scrambled while Monique asks for sunny side up. Then Monique's dad pours us each a glass of an orange juice-apple juice combination. Barely tasting the food, Monique and I scarf down breakfast and dash off to her room to get ready for a day of shopping.

Middleton Mall is crowded with people on a rainy day like today. Lots of teenagers, most of them around 14 or 15, are rollerblading through the plaza and walkways. Monique and I are forced to jump out of the way several times. I remember being that age, but all my time was taken up by babysitting, crime fighting, and school. Rollerblading through the mall wasn't something I had time to do. Something sharp jabs at my left side, and Monique asks if I want to go rollerblading. Of course, I tell her yes, and we race off to the rollerblade rink at the west entrance to the mall.

I pay for my skates, and Monique pays for hers, and we wobbly enter the crowded rink. Unable to maintain our balance, we flail our arms and fall on our butts multiple times. But it's fun, and I'm grateful for any way to forget the mess I've gotten Ron, Shego, and everyone else in. Just thinking of the situation brings me down, and Monique noticed this.

"Come on, Kim. Lighten up. Have some fun. Forget about everything for a little while." She pulls me back onto my feet, only to fall on her butt in return. Both of us laughing, I pull her over to the rink wall and help her to her feet; I use the wall to prevent either of us from falling. Then we grab onto the wall and resume skating, chatting as we go.

"Thank you so much, Monique, for everything you've done," I say as I hug her; we've just finished skating and are walking out of the rink.

"No problem, Kim. Hey, what do say we have a shopping spree at Club Banana?" She suggests. I nod, and we take off running. When we arrive outside the store, my phone rings. I ignore the call, but the caller calls back several times. Finally I shoot Monique a dismayed glance and step out of the store to answer the call. It's Shego. I need to go the the hospital this instant. I hang up, run back inside to Monique, and try to apologize and explain at the same time.

"Kim, it's fine. There will be other shopping sprees, but this is a time you'll only have once." I hug her, tears glistening in my eyes, before running out of the mall and to my car. I leap in the driver seat and speed to the hospital.

At the hospital, I find Drakken, Shego, and Mom all gathered in Ron's room. They look at me as a practically soar into the room and knock everything onto the floor. Mom gives me a look of sympathy before wrapping me a firm hug. Is Ron okay? Did something happen? Panic wells up inside me. Please, please let him be okay. If anything happens to him, I'll lose it. Please, please.

Mom lets me go, and Shego pulls me into a hug. Seriously, what is happening?! Suddenly, another pair of arms wraps around both of us; it's Drakken. The three way hug lasts for only a few moments, but it feels much longer. Then it hits me: family doesn't have to mean we're related; it means we care for each other and help each other. I wish I had realized this back before this all began.

The hug ends as we pull away one by one, first Drakken, then Shego, and lastly me. Then I rush over to Ron's side and embrace him as best as I can. Ron's body stiffens before relaxing as he returns the hug. He's okay! Ron is okay! The tears of jubilation stream from my eyes, and I lose control of my emotions.

Someone pulls me away from Ron and tells me to take several deep breaths. I do so, and I'm somewhat able to calm down, but I'm still exhilarated.

"Kim, Drakken and I made something that might be able to help Ron," Shego explains as she holds my hand.

"Really?" I gasp. She nods.

"There's no guarantee it'll work, but it's worth a shot." I nod, so Shego signals to Drakken to come over. He removes a neon pink cell phone from his pocket. My expression but be blank or confused because Shego explains that the phone is the device. I'm still confused, so Shego explains that pressing the green button activates the device, and now I start to understand.

Then we all head over to Ron's side, and Drakken holds the device up to Ron's ear and presses the button. I hope no one on the staff comes in, or they'll take the device away.

"Does it work?"

So that's Chapter 8! I hope it lives up to your expectations. Remember, I'm out of town next week, so the chapter won't be up, but I hope to have the final two chapters up the week after that. Thank you all so much for your support, advice, and patience. I apologize for my horrible writing at the beginning, but I hope that you have noticed an improvement in my writing skills. That's all I've got for this week. Don't forget to follow, favorite, and review! I love you all!
