Hey guys, and welcome back! I know I was suppose to update, like 3 days ago, but test fever struck. I had more testing recently, and I just can't manage to write a full chapter when I'm already spent from testing earlier in the day. This is, for the most part, the end of all my testing. I do have a little more near the end of the month, so this may happen again. Nonetheless, expect at least a chapter a week, but hope for two a week, for that is what I try to do. I also wanna ask you guys to stop the pleas for me to update. I have not forgotten the story, nor will I, so it gets annoying when you guys start bugging me to update. I mean you have to hand it to me, most books this length take a full year, if not more, to finish. It's been a little over 4 months, and the story is starting to come to a close. Now this chapter is also an experiment. I have been reading The Inheritance Cycle, you know, Eragon, and I am really enjoying it. I got to be the writer I am from reading other people's stories and books, and adopting little bits of their style. This chapter will reveal how much I truly soaked up from those books. So, since this chapter should mark the beginning of the journey, I will have too go very in depth to have an event less journey actually pleasing to read. It's even harder because there is no civilization for the characters to stop at, and for other events to occur. Well, I'm giving myself an extra two hours to do this chapter, starting at four o' clock here, should finish around eleven. Well there goes my day. So, as usual, any and all feedback is encouraged and appreciated, see you guys later!
See you peeps later,
-Tytonic

Gregor and the War of the Myriapods
Chapter 26: Electricity
Luxa looked up at Gregor, since he was a good five inches taller then her, even after 4 years. She soaked up every word that Gregor said, though he lost her after 'I don't care if your queen or not. To me your Luxa, I wouldn't think any higher or lower of you if you were just some farmer'.
Luxa nodded, with a huge smile on her face, and reached over and grabbed Gregor's hand. The two walked happily down the hall together, hand in hand. Where were they heading? Not even they knew, for all that mattered to them is that they were together
-O-
Luxa awoke with a start, jousted awake by a dream that has fled her memory. Whether it be nightmare, or an actual dream, she could not tell. It was a mix of symptoms from either form of the sleep visions. She had awoken in a cold sweat, yet she was more rested, and energized, than she could ever recall.
She abruptly became aware of the beds condition. It's sheets were tossed about, as to be expected, but the second half of it was empty, but still warm, as if somebody had slept next to her throughout the night.
The events that had occurred the night before returned to her like a tidal wave, submerging her in thoughts, memories, and anything else that happen to crash upon her. She recalled the events leading up to last night. She and Gregor had visited Alex, who had awoken a week early, due to loves grasp. After that, if her memory served her correctly, she and Gregor had gone down the hall, hand in hand, only to discover that it was nearly time for supper. Seeing to the fact that they had eaten only half an hour before, due to their elongated training session, they had decided to skip supper. This had left them with some well-earned free time.
Most of the memories from that point were a slight blur to Luxa, however, she still managed to distinguish what was occurring. The images that flooded her head made her entire body flush red with embarrassment, yet smile with pure bliss.
Despite her actions being highly inappropriate and irresponsible, she held no regrets for her actions. A slight worry wiggled its way into her mind, as the weight of her actions finally dawned upon her. If she or Gregor got caught, he would be executed, despite the circumstances, and she would most likely be forced off of the throne.
As the memories slowly drained from Luxa's head, and she had relived the events that had transpired numerous times, she slowly and groggily dragged herself out from underneath her soft, silk sheets. It took but moments for her to become aware of her current attire.
Luxa took a brief bath, washing any unnatural scent off of her, so that those with a uncanny sense of smell, such as Ripred, would not be tipped off as to the events that had transpired the night before, though he would probably notice, despite her efforts to conceal it. After finishing her bath, and dressing herself hastily, Luxa decided that she her new attire was appropriate, as oppose to what she wore previously: nothing.
Luxa became aware, do to the uncanny sense of time that all underlanders possessed, that it was early morning, around an hour before the city of Regalia shall awaken. She allowed her mind to drift over various activities that she could entertain herself with, before they must depart, on a mission to assassinate and obliterate the royal bloodline of the slashers.
As Luxa's mind drifted over the possibilities, two shone brighter than any others, though one was brighter than the other. She could go visit Aurora in the hospital, but she had been informed of her condition. Whilst Luxa had hit her head and earned a concussion, she had landed on her back, where only part of the impact was focused on the skull. Aurora, however, had managed to hit the ground square on her head, all of impact being absorbed by one small section of her skull. She would be unconscious for a lengthy period of time. She would search for Gregor. Being with him was enough for her, especially considering last nights events, which, as a result, had strengthened their bond immensely.
Once Luxa finally settled on this course of action, she found that her legs had already begun taking her to one of the few places she assumed Gregor would be. At this hour, he would either be training, or going about his business in the arena. In addition, there was always the slim possibility that he had discovered the influence he truly had on the people of Regalia, how he could command twice the respect that any king or queen ever had. Albeit Luxa highly doubted that he would play with power, there was still a minuscule chance that he would; power can greatly change a person, and few could truly handle large amounts of it.
Only once Luxa almost walked straight into a guard did she regain her senses. She had not noticed, but she had slid into a daydream, caused by her thoughts of Gregor and how he would handle large amounts of power. Generally, the only figure with the amount of power Gregor possessed would be a king, and a very benevolent and wise one at that. Naturally, this fact led her to imagine what it would be like if Gregor were king; due to the fact that she was already a queen, she slid into position beside Gregor, as his wife.
If she had not been trained to be a proper queen, or did not have such control over her mental side, she possibly would have been drooling. Love is a funny and powerful thing; it has the ability to change and alter a being in amazing, or terrible ways. Before Luxa had encountered her love with Gregor, she would have never drooled over anything, end of story.
As her senses returned, she finally recognized how jumbled and out of order her thoughts were. That was perhaps the only point that Howard had made over the years, that Luxa actually agreed with. The fact that love, can distract a person from anything, especially her duties as queen. She had always argued the point, claiming that if she was to be a proper queen, she would have to fall in love and wed. That had always ended the argument for her, when she realized the flaw in her words. She was a queen, and often times, the queen fell into a loveless marriage. Hence why trysts and affairs were fairly common throughout her culture.
It seems that last nights activities had made it's way to her head, and was blocking the proper flow of thoughts. Albeit she had difficulty thinking as of now, she would not need to think much, as she and few others were to be flying into the uncharted lands within a few hours. That brought up yet another thought, how would she travel? With Aurora recovering in the hospital, she would have to travel upon another flier. Shen knew that Howard was accompanying them, so, of course, Nike would accompany them as well. She was no against flying on Nike, but she would rather fly with Gregor on Chronos. It would also be more convenient; Chronos is almost as large and as strong as his father, he would be able to support more than one person without them slowing him down. Despite all of this, she will most likely be offered a flier, one that would treat her as if she were some fragile little girl. It irritated Luxa, how so many people though she was a weak and helpless little girl; perhaps her new position as number four, would manage to convince people otherwise. Luxa, as anybody that truly knew her would expect, would decline the offer, and would ride on another bat that she trusted. She would be expected to fly with Hayden, on his flier, which she would also decline, stating some reason why it would be better for her to fly with Gregor on Chronos.
Alas Luxa arrived at her destination, the museum. Upon entering, she used all six of her senses in attempt to identify if Gregor was present in the large room. She found nothing that would suggest that the overlander would be there. Normally, she would be able to pick up a slight difference in smell, distinct to overlanders, but that would not help now. Not only was the room specifically made to store overland objects, but Gregor had long since ceased to smell of the overland.
Luxa began to search the room, only briefly checking areas. Due to her knowledge of Gregor, she knew that he would not intentionally hide from her, and if he did, he would quickly reveal himself in some manner before she departed the area.
Luxa checked a few spots first, but he stomach twisted and her eyes went glassy when she located Gregor sitting in the spot that they both revealed each others love. This would have, under normal circumstances, brought happiness to Luxa, finding Gregor. Yet she had found him, and it only brought her dread.
Gregor was sitting with his knees up close to him, yet still a foot away, and he had each elbow resting on each knee, a position she had seen far to many times. Usually men sat like this when something was troubling them, gnawing at their stomachs. This instantly told Luxa that something was wrong, but what got her attention the most, was his eyes. His eyes were glassy, and had a sullen look to them. Luxa and Gregor both knew each other too well; they could read emotions right off of each others eyes, despite the facial expressions. Something was definitely wrong.
Luxa's heartbeat sped up immensely. From both Gregor's and Luxa's experiences, they knew that when the other thought something was wrong, something was wrong. Luxa slowly made her way over to Gregor, and dropped to a sitting position right beside him. If Gregor noticed Luxa at all, he showed no sign of it. He was blankly staring into darkness, as if possessed.
Luxa tried to snap him out of this strange trance by placing a hand on his shoulder, accompanied by a calming voice, "Gregor? Are you alright?"
Gregor snapped back to reality in an instant, and jumped with surprise, as if he had been startled by something.
"Luxa? What do you want?" Asked Gregor, in a voice that was far harsher than he had probably intended it to be.
Luxa was shocked when he snapped at her. He rarely did that, and it was even rarer for him to snap at her. Something was defiantly wrong.
"Gregor, are you okay? Is something bothering you, what's wrong?"
Gregor's eyes lost their glassy cover, "Yes, I'm fine. Nothing wrong, just got a bit distracted."
He couldn't fool her for a second, she could still see it in his eyes. That was yet another connection they shared. While Gregor was a good liar, she would still be able to detect when he was truthful, or when he was lying, simply by looking into his eyes, and vice versa.
Luxa said with a stern voice, "Gregor."
Gregor let out a defeated sigh; even he knew that he could not fool her. She knew him all too well.
"It's my mom." Luxa's breath caught in her throat. "She is going to force me back to the overland after this quest. I am needed for the quest, but once we return to Regalia, there will be nothing else keeping me here, aside from me myself." Explained Gregor, dreadfully.
Luxa's fears were confirmed. She had already thought on this matter though. Albeit, in the end, it was Gregor's will that would determine whether he stayed or not.
"And me. Gregor, how old are you?"
"Sixteen, Why?"
"And at what age are you considered an adult in the overland?"
"Eighteen. I know what your getting at, I can't do that though, not until I'm eighteen."
"No, not until you are an adult. Now, at what age are you considered and adult in Regalia"
"Sixteen."
"Yes, so as long as you are in Regalia, you are considered an adult. You have the right to defy your mother here, she cannot force you to return with her. If she does, I will have no choice but to have her arrested. Just because she is an overlander, or does not live here, does not mean that the law does not apply to her." Said Luxa; She felt Gregor's muscles loosen up a bit, "Unless you choose to go with her, you will not have to return to the overland. No body can legally force you back to the overland, save me, and you know I wouldn't do that."
Gregor attempted to plaster a smile on his face, though he failed miserably, "I don't think I will be able to defy her. I can't just leave my family, I can't abandon them."
Gregor looked over at Luxa, and their eyes met. They held the gaze until Luxa was forced to look away. She let out a sigh, Gregor still wasn't getting the point, "Gregor, I am not encouraging you to stay, or leave with these words, they are intended to aid in your decision. You have lived for your family for years. You have suffered, been miserable so that they may be happy. It is time for you to live for yourself. You have fought wars, saved thousands of lives, and yet, you live in misery. You deserve better, not to be alone and miserable, so that your family may be happy.
"You must learn to live for yourself, as well as others. This is your life, so you must live it. It is time to crawl out from under your rock. Do whatever makes you happiest." Explained Luxa.
Slowly over this speech, Luxa had been inching closer and closer to Gregor. There faces were mere inches apart at this moment.
"Please Gregor, just do what makes you happy, I cannot stand to see you subject yourself to misery." Said Luxa.
Luxa closed the gap between them, and their lips met. Too Luxa, it seemed as if she was being shocked. Electricity flew throughout her body as she and Gregor kissed. Too her, it felt like more than just a kiss, more than just being connected, more than love. They had had passionate kisses before, but this kiss put them all to shame, this was something more. It seemed like more than love, it was as if their souls, their very beings, were intertwined.
When the separated, after a few long and blissful minutes, they gazed into one anther's eyes, gasping for breath. It was a few short seconds, though they felt like a years, until their lips met once more. There was less electricity in this kiss, and more desire, albeit, it felt equally as passionate to Gregor and Luxa.
Be it a few minutes, or a few hours, the young couple will never know, but before long, they discovered that somebody was watching them from the doorway. Had it been a guard, servant, or general, Luxa would have bribed then until they agreed to keep their mouths shut. But no, if he even had the intention of leaking information about what had just transpired, all that was needed to sway him, was a large cart of shrimp and cream sauce.
"Ripred, what do you want?" Snarled Gregor, he and Luxa scooting away from each other a few inches, embarrassed.
Ripred snorted, "There is no use hiding it from me. Now get your pathetic hides ready, we have breakfast in twenty minutes and then we are leaving immediately. I recommend you both take another bath, we don't want anybody discovering what you two have done, that is, if you value your lives, or, at least, if our warrior here does."
Before Gregor could come up with a half decent comeback, Ripred sauntered out of the room. A few seconds passed, and a loud belch could be heard from down the hall.
"If we are considered pathetic, then what would he be considered? I doubt there is even a word for it." Said Luxa, amusement dripping off of her voice like honey.
Both Gregor and Luxa set off to take another bath, because, after all, Gregor does value his life. They walked down the hall, hand in hand, until the reached a fort in the hall, where they could proceed going either left, or right. Gregor's room, as well as the baths he used, were to the right, while Luxa's, was to the left.
Gregor began to turn right, but spun around to face Luxa, when she grabbed his hand from behind.
Luxa faked a hurt expression, and asked, "Where are you going?"
"To take a bath." Gregor responded, slightly confused.
Luxa sighed. Boys, they can be so clueless sometimes. Time to be a little bit more specific, "You know, there's room for two in my bath."
Luxa could tell that Gregor understood in a instant, and he returned the devilish grin that she was giving him with ease.
Now look at Luxa, ever the naughty little girl. Well, I think we can all guess what exactly happened 'last night', as well as what is about to happen. Well, it will play a fairly large role, sometime in the far future, in this stories sequel. You can all guess what I , I don't have a name for her yet, but I will get one once I need it. So, tell me what you guys think of think chapter. Tell me if it is any better written then my normal chapters. I regret to say that I am lazy, my usual writing is only 50% of my best, and this is probably around a 90% effort. However, for the story I am writing, I'm going all out, a whopping 120%! Not only do I write the chapter, and go over it like eight times, changing small details to make the chapter better, but I have multiple people proof read it. I will get it published, and I will inform you guys when I do (I hope some of you guys will be the first to buy it)! For the question of last chapter, only one person guessed. You guys can do better! It was ScrumtousToast, guessing 7.468369337494749448. Nope, sorry. It's around a respectable 8.5-9. They are already willing to die for each other, but they have yet to gain experience, and let the love soak in a bit. As usual, all feedback is encouraged and appreciated, so give me any and all ideas! See you guys later!
See you peeps later,
