Hello people, and welcome back! Now, this is funny. I was just in the very middle of writing an authors note on how I would have to be putting the story on hold because I had no clue what to do with this chapter, and nobody that I asked for help had any ideas, when an idea struck. Now, I was suppose to update a few days ago, and for that I am sorry. I got caught up on stuff, and such. Not to mention, that I had no clue what to do for this chapter. Fanfiction also choose to screw me over, and wouldn't let me post this chapter for an extra two days. In that time, I wrote another chapter for this story, and it's probably the chapter you guys want to see the most. Sadly, I cannot post that chapter as of now, due to the fact that I still need like three or four more chapters before it, ere I post it. About last chapter, a lot of you complained about what I did with it. I would normally change it, with so much hate, but I have specific reason. One big fact is that if Luxa bets married to Hayden, they are expected to produces a heir as soon as possible, so she either had her first time with Gregor, or it would be with Hayden. It also plays an important role in the sequel, which most of you probably guessed already, but either way, I won't bother telling you guys yet, you'll have to wait until the sequel comes out. Now, my work on my book is coming along nicely. I have finished the second chapter, which is from a second main characters point of view. It's amazing how long it takes to do a chapter, if you want it to be 100% flawless, and absolutely perfect. Now, I know a lot of you will want to know what my book is about, so I think I will give you guys the blurb (summary of a book (the thing on the back of the book)). Just know, that it is not set in stone, and I might change the entire thing, but overall, the concept of it should be the same, though there is a slim possibility that it is far off. Also, I don't have a title for the book yet, so, keep that in mind. So, tell me what you guys think of it so far.

A once mighty kingdom, torn to shreds by the horrors of war. When Alex, a farm boy of fourteen, gets dragged into this war, he discovers that he might play a role in life, one far larger than he ever thought possible. Along with Holly, a girl found half-drowned on the banks of a river, Alex must embark upon a quest to determine the fate of thousands. Alex must hold up under the weight of his destiny, or else he will fall into the depths of insanity. And it certainly doesn't help when he begins to spit fire from his fingertips.

What do you guys think? I love it, but I'm still not 100% sure. Either way, it will probably be changed greatly from what it is now. So, due to time constraints, I will not be able to post this chapter the day I'm writing it, I simply don't have enough time to finish it. So, as usual, any and all feedback is encouraged and appreciated, see you guys later!

See you peeps later,

-Tytonic

Disclaimer: I do not own any of The Underland Chronicles, only the characters I make up and the plot itself.

Gregor and the War of the Myriapods

Chapter 27: Will you be my Bond?

Gregor began to turn right, but spun around to face Luxa, when she grabbed his hand from behind.

Luxa faked a hurt expression, and asked, "Where are you going?"

"To take a bath." Gregor responded, slightly confused.

Luxa sighed. Boys, they can be so clueless sometimes. Time to be a little bit more specific, "You know, there's room for two in my bath."

Luxa could tell that Gregor understood in a instant, and he returned the devilish grin that she was giving him with ease.

-O-

Once Gregor has completed his bath, he had proceeded back to his dwelling, where he dressed himself in an appropriate set of travel cloths, which he had found sitting at the head of his bed. The clothing was made of a thick, yet light, black leather-like substance. The suit also had a strap around the left shoulder, and the right hip. This strap had many small pockets on it, all of which held small items. Gregor could not begin to guess what the items were used for, so he left them be.

Once Gregor was satisfied with what he was wearing, he made his way out of his room, and back down the hall. For a few minutes, as Gregor made his way to breakfast, the only sound accompanying him was the soft scraping of his shoes on the cold stone floor. Occasionally he could hear somebody shuffling around as he passed by a room.

Within a few minutes, Gregor has arrived at Breakfast, where he found most everybody waiting for him. He exchanged a few greetings, as well as a death glare from both Hayden and his mother, and settled down in his respective seat.

It was clear that nobody was going to talk anytime soon, for the atmosphere in the room was very tense, so Gregor decided that he wold break the silence; it would probably be for the best, anyway. "So, about how long will this mission take us to complete?"

Ripred snapped his teeth together. "Who knows? It will take us days just to get there, more to complete the mission, and more to get back. I'm placing it around two to three weeks."

"You have placed a fairly accurate assumption," said Xano, who was off to the side, not eating human food, but rather some weird slop. "Factoring in the speed at which your fliers can travel, it will take anywhere from six to eight days to arrive at the slasher lands. They do not have any structures, so any member of the royal bloodline shall be located within caves, with guards posted outside. It will take a few days to locate and eliminate each of these slashers, where then it will take another week or so to fly back here. It will take the slashes at least a moth to re-organize another attack, due to poor leadership. Depending on their situation, they might be able to pull everything together in half that time, but it is unlikely."

Gregor's mother went deathly pale as Xano's words reached her ears. "Two to three weeks?! You are NOT going, you'll get yourself killed!"

Ripred snorted. "Hate to break it to you 'Mother of out light', but if I recall correctly, you already tried to Spirit Gregor back to the overland. We can all see how effective that was. Now, where is Lizzie? I haven't seen the little tot around since I woke from the battle."

Gregor's mom glared at Ripred, and didn't take her eyes off of him. "I sent the rest of my family back to the overland yesterday, like any sensible mother would. Now it's Gregor's turn to go too, I will not let him stay down here and waste his life!" She intensified her glare. "And won't let you stop me from taking him and leaving, you mangy rat."

Ripred put on his best terrified face, failing miserably. "Oh dear! I'm trembling in pure terror!" Ripred's face returned to normal. "But I won;'t stop you. I doubt I would have to anyway. You talk as if Gregor is an item, and you can just take him away without protest."

"I am his mother! He will come with me if I tell him too!" Gregor's mom raised her voice even louder, so nobody could miss a single syllable. "He does not have a choice, he WILL leave with me!"

"Grace, may I ask you a question?" Luxa paused for a moment, waiting for a response. When she got nothing but a glare, she continued. "Do you want Gregor to be happy?"

Gregor's mom scowled. "How could you ask such a question? Of course I want him to be happy!"

"Then tell me, when was the last time you saw him truly happy?" Luxa Asked. "Because, if my sources are correct, he has been far from happy in the overland."

"What do you mean by 'When was the last time I saw him Happy', He has been fine in Virginia, he made friends an everything!" Growled Gregor's mom. "He was happy as could be."

"Your correct, Grace. He was as happy as he could be, which was miserable, the whole time. I know you have noticed, your just denying it now. What you don't realize, is that I have been keeping tabs on Gregor every since he left here, note the amount of rats everybody found within your neighborhood." Said Ripred.

"You were spying on us?! How dare you, I should have yo-" Hissed Gregor's mom, before being cut off.

"Everybody, SHUT UP." Yelled Gregor, demanding everybody's attention. He got it. "It doesn't matter how much you guys argue, okay? In the end, it's my choice, if I want to stay I'm staying, if I want to leave, I'll leave. None of you can force me to choose one option or the other."

"I am your mother, you will do as I say!" Yelled Gregor's mom. "Until you move out of the day You become an adult, you will do as I say without question!"

"Until the day I become an adult? Luxa, would you care to explain?" Asked Gregor.

"As you well know, while you are in my city, you are to follow my laws. In Regalia, you become an adult at the age of sixteen, and the parent looses all authority over the kid. Due to this law, while Gregor is in Regalia, he is considered an adult. By law, you cannot force him to do anything. He may openly defy you, without fear of punishment. If you do, however, punish him, it will be considered assault, and you will be arrested." Explained Luxa.

Gregor's mom seemed to pale several shades. "You don't have the right to arrest me."

Luxa slapped on her queen-face. "I am the queen of Regalia. As long as you are within the city, I have the right to do whatever I wish with you." Luxa gained a bitterness to her voice. "If I so pleased, I could have you executed right now, as previous kings and queens would have, had they been here in place of me. You are lucky that I do not punish you for openly defying the queen."

Gregor's mom went even paler, and she looked like she was about to scream in Luxa's face, but a warning glare from Luxa shut her up.

A sour atmosphere set over the room, and nobody dared to speak. Occasionally Hayden attempted to strike up a conversation with his 'beloved', but she shut him down within moments each time. That is how the rest of Breakfast went.

Once Gregor has completed his meal, he excused himself, and slowly made his was over to the high hall. He was pleased to find Chronos sitting near the edge of the room, tucked into a furry ball, waiting.

"Hello, Chronos. How are you doing?"

Chronos looked over to Gregor, and unfurled his wings. He stretched his wings out, which where extremely large, perhaps 30-40 feet long. He also let out a weird sound, that sounded slightly like a strained squeak. Apparently it was a bat's yawn.

Chronos yawned again before responding. "I fare well, Gregor. Where is the rest of your party?"

"I completed my meal before they did. They should arrive some time soon. Be warned, they are not in the greatest of moods. We are about to embark on a suicide mission, and my mom is giving me crap, and attempting to force me to leave the underland. It has put us all in a poor mood." Replied Gregor.

"That concerns me. Are you going to allow her to take you back to the overland?" Asked Chronos, a pang of worry in his voice.

Gregor snorted. "Not a chance. I haven't been truly happy in all of four years since I left the underland, and now that I returned, I am happy as can be. I don't want to leave, at all, even after this war is over. However, I fear what will happen afterwards, for I might have no choice but to return to the overland."

"Do not worry. If you wish to stay, the law will keep you here, and I assume that Luxa would defend you, and approve of you staying. I now how fond of her you have grown." Stated Chronos.

Gregor huffed. "And I know how fond you have grown of that other flier."

"Wait, how did you find out about that?!" Panicked Chronos.

Gregor couldn't help but to burst out laughing. Truthfully, he had had no clue, and was just joking around. Reverse psychology, works every time.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anybody, I'll leave that to you, just as long as you don't tell anybody about me and Luxa." He pretended to actually know.

"So, how do you think this mission will go?" Asked Chronos.

Gregor pondered this question for a few moments before responding. "I think it will be very difficult, and it may possibly be a suicide mission. Either way, we still have to try, it's the underlands' only hope."

"I have a question then, if this is a suicide mission."

Gregor looked at Chronos. "Ask away."

"Do you have any regrets? Like, in life, any at all?" Asked Chronos.

Gregor thought for a moment, organizing his responses, and then spoke. "A few. I regret letting Ares die. It was my bad call that caused his death. I also regret letting my parents take me away from here, everything would have been so much better had they let me stay. What about you?"

"I. . . I don't have any regrets, not yet at least. If we do die, then I regret never bonding." Said Chronos. He looked a little hopeful, and Gregor caught his drift, and was happy to comply.

"Well, I have been meaning to ask you, but with everything going on, it's been a little sketchy, but I suppose now is as good a time as any.

"Chronos the flier, will you bond with me?"

"Gregor the warrior, yes, I will bond with you."

Well, that was a pain! I had so much trouble focusing on this chapter, that because of it, I had to take longer than usual to write the chapter, so I am so sorry about it being this late! I know not much went on in this chapter, and until the group reached the slasher lands, not much will, so next chapter might not be very exiting. I thought it was about time for Gregor and Chronos to bond, you know, before they go off on a possible suicide mission. I think most of you will agree. I know you guys think it might be getting old, but it was the right time and place for Gregor's mom to rant on about the underland vs the overland again. I know some of you hate his mom, but you have to remember, she is only trying to protect Gregor. She just doesn't see that the best thing she can do now is support him, not fight him. I have no clue what I'm going to do for next chapter, so it's gonna be very difficult, even harder than this chapter, so don't expect me to update within a few days time, it may take up to a week or more to finish it. I know it sucks, but it's the writing process, I can't rush the story. If I need time to write it, I will take that time. I refuse to rush the story so much that it ruins it. I know some of you guys will bug me to update any way, and do so if you wish, but please, try to refrain for it. Nonetheless, I will try to get the next chapter out soon, though no promises. So, the question from last chapter! ScrumtousToast got it correct! They frolicked through the hills (despite them being stone), had a wonderful picnic, and took a stroll through the evening night (though it could have easily been the middle of the day in the overland), and then they had sex! Now only if life were that simple. So, as usual all feedback is encouraged and appreciated, so give me any and all ideas! See you guys later!

See you peeps later,

Question: How will Gregor and Hayden get along during the trip?

*CLICKCLICKCLICK*

*POOF*

Tytonic: Thoughts, ideas, concerns?

*Grace yelps, and realizes that they are in a cage*

Tytonic: Right. . . *Sigh*. . . Forgot about you. Gregor, could you please explain the situation to your mother?

*Gregor explains situation to Grace*

Grace: You expect me to believe such a ridiculous story?! How stupid do you think I am?!

Tytonic: And giant rats and such isn't ridiculous?

Grace: I. . . Point taken.

Tytonic: Okay, now that that's settled, what did you guys think of the chapter?

Gregor: It was kind of boring.

Luxa: You set a sour mood for almost the entire thing.

Grace: You. . . You control this? Your sending my son to his death!

*Grace continues to scream at Tytonic for another hour or so*

Tytonic: Okay, now that your done, I can clarify. I do control the story, however, I am not sending him to his death, I control his death. If I want, he can get his head cut off, and still live. Whatever I want to happen, will happen, and as long as you are in the story, you have no power over what goes on.

Gregor: I still hate that.

Grace: If you hurt my son I will hunt you down!

Tytonic: And. . . How exactly would you do that? We live in different universes, and unless I bring you here, like I am doing now, you can never get to me. I highly doubt you can get through these bars to get to me, so don't waste your energy.

Gregor: Can we just go already? I'm getting eager for this mission.

Tytonic: Sure, I'm also getting tired of arguing with you mom.

Gregor: Yeah, she can get like that sometimes.

Grace: I'm right here you know.

Tytonic: Okay, so I need serious time to think here, see you guys later.

Gregor: See ya later.

Luxa: Goodbye.

Grace: *Grunts*

*CLICKCLICKCLICK

*POOF*

Tytonic: I knew that cage was a good investment.
