Hello guys and welcome back! So first of all, I'm writing this chapter during a stage of writers block earlier in the story, so I have no clue what happened last chapter! Don't worry, I will shape it so it fits in once I need it. I have a strong feeling that this chapter will not be as long as others, but this is a ripe chapter, and I know you guys will like it, well, most of you. By the way, I looked up the whole wedding thing, so nothing there is wrong, its just that wedding can be very different from each other (plus this is for royalty). So, as usual, any and all feedback is encouraged and appreciated, see you guys later!

See you peeps later,

-Tytonic

Gregor and the War of the Myriapods

Chapter 32: Denied

Luxa walked up the aisle, arm entwined with Vikus's arm. As if she wasn't already nervous, she could feel the eyes of thousands settled upon her, burning holes through here every which way.

Her dread increases ever so much as they reached the end of the aisle. Vikus kissed her, as he should, and placed her hand in Hayden's hand. She stiffened at the contact, but if Hayden noticed, he hid it well.

Luxa felt her stomach knot up as the councilman, serving as the priest due to the lack of churches in the underland, began the wedding ceremony.

-O-

"Queen Luxa and Lord Hayden, today you are surrounded by your friends, family, and your people, all of whom have gathered here to witness your marriage and to share in the joy of this special occasion. Today, as you join yourselves in marriage, there is a vast and unknown future stretching out before you. The possibilities and potentials of your married life are great; and now falls upon your shoulders the task of choosing your values and making real your dreams. Through your commitment to each other, may you grow and nurture a love that makes both of you better people, a love that continues to give you great joy, and also a passion for living that provides you with energy and patience to face the responsibilities of life." Announced the head councilman.

A smile crept it's way upon the mans face. "Remember to treat yourselves and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. Take responsibility for making the other feel safe, and give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficulty and fear assail your relationship, as they threaten all relationships at some time or another, remember to focus on what is right between you, not just the part that seems wrong. In this way, you can survive the times when clouds drift across the face of the sun in your lives, remembering that, just because you may lose sight of it for a moment, does not mean the sun has gone away. And, if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your life together, it will be marked by abundance and delight. Seek from within yourselves. The serenity to except the things you cannot change. The courage to change the things that you must and the wisdom to know the difference. Live each day, one day at a time. Enjoying your time together, one moment at a time. Seek the wisdom of experience learning all that you can from each other. Accept hardships as the building blocks of experience, realizing that accepting both the good and bad are simply a part of being alive. Strive to make as many things as right as is humanly possible in your life together, so that you may be reasonably happy in the life you share from this day forward."

"Hayden, Repeat after me." Instructed the head councilmen. "I believe in you, the person you will grow to be and the couple we will be together."

"I believe in you, the person you will grow to be and the couple we will be together."

"With my whole heart, I take you as my wife/husband, acknowledging and accepting your faults and strengths, as you do mine."

"With my whole heart, I take you as my wife/husband, acknowledging and accepting your faults and strengths, as you do mine."

"I promise to be faithful and supportive and to always make our family's love and happiness my priority. "

"I promise to be faithful and supportive and to always make our family's love and happiness my priority."

"I will be yours in plenty and in want, in sickness and in health, in failure and in triumph. I will dream with you, celebrate with you and walk beside you through whatever our lives may bring."

"I will be yours in plenty and in want, in sickness and in health, in failure and in triumph. I will dream with you, celebrate with you and walk beside you through whatever our lives may bring."

"You are my person; my love and my life, today and always."

"You are my person; my love and my life, today and always." Hayden finished.

"Queen Luxa, repeat after me." The head councilmen instructed. "I believe in you, the person you will grow to be and the couple we will be together."

With a gulp, Luxa nervously did as he said. "I believe in you, the person you will grow to be and the couple we will be together."

"With my whole heart, I take you as my wife/husband, acknowledging and accepting your faults and strengths, as you do mine."

"You are my person; my love and my life, today and always."

"You are my person; my love and my life, today and always." Luxa finished.

Anybody that truly knew Luxa, that did not include Hayden, Would be able to see straight through her deadpan expression. She was not enjoying this in the slightest. Cluelessly, Hayden stood across from her, with the largest, most ridiculous grin ever, plastered on his face.

The councilmen, also with a huge grin, continued. "Do you Lord Hayden, accept Queen Luxa as your life mate and one true love, promising to share in all that life offers and suffers, to be there for her in times of need, to soothe her in times of pain, and to support her in all endeavors, big and small?"

Hayden took a deep breath, and responded. "I acknowledge my love and respect for you and recognize the responsibilities that will beset me. I promise always to recognize you as an equal individual and always to be conscious of your development as well as my own. I shall seek through kindness and understanding to achieve with you the life we have envisioned." Hayden paused for a few seconds before continuing. "Yes, I accept you, Queen Luxa, to be my life mate, my one true love, My wife."

Luxa's dread increased twenty fold. The councilmen continued. "Do you Queen Luxa, accept Lord Hayden as your life mate and one true love, promising to share in all that life offers and suffers, to be there for him in times of need, to soothe him in times of pain, and to support him in all endeavors, big and small?"

This was it. Her next few words would determine the fate of Regalia, it would change her life forever. Luxa began to tremble slightly, and she could feel the eyes of every regalian trained on her. This was, perhaps, the first time she had ever been nervous to speak in front of a crowd.

Luxa glanced past Hayden, to where Gregor stood. He gave her a small nod, one so small that you would only notice it if you were specifically looking for it. She could no longer run from Hayden; it was time to truly resist.

Luxa turned to the audience. "I, Queen Luxa, do not accept Lord Hayden to be my husband." The sound of thousands gasping at the same time rang throughout the cavern, and everybody began to murmur.

After a few seconds, Luxa raised her hand, silencing the crowd. "I officially accuse the entirety of the Regalian council of high treason." The entire cavern silences. Not even the crying of babies was heard. "I claim this to be forced upon me. As Regalian law states, It is not a requirement of me to wed for some time. I have, many times, attempted to call off this wedding, and every time council has denied my request." Luxa turned to Hayden. "Hayden, many times have I rejected you, and yet you come back every time. You never proposed to me, therefore, you are in no way my fiancé. You have been convinced that I love you, but as I have done many times, I assure you that I hold no positive feeling towards you."

The entire cavern remained silent, so quite that one would be able to hear a pin drop. After a few minutes of dead silence, the distinct metallic scrape of a swords being drawn rang throughout the cavern. Fear seeped into Luxa; she was unarmed.

Looking over to the head councilman, Luxa could see desperation written all over his face. She knew he was doing this out of desperation; he was blinded to the consequences of his actions. "Queen Luxa, I am afraid that you do not have a choice on this matter. Say the vows now, else you know what happens."

Luxa paled considerably, but she knew what to do. She would not marry Hayden, despite the immense threat. "I will not say th-"

A loud cracking sound ran through out the cavern, and the side of Luxa's face filled with an immense pain, as she fell to the ground. Hayden had just struck Luxa. Hayden had just struck a queen. Luxa attempted to stand back up, but the pain in her head prevented that.

Luxa could hardly make out his words, but the councilman spoke. "On charges of treason, and attempted destruction of Regalia, I hereby sentence Queen Luxa to death. Guards, you know what to do."

With a nod, one of the guards walked forward, sword drawn, and held it above his head. In one swift movement, he brought the sword down upon Luxa.

Gregor's Point of View

The loud clang of metal on metal resounded throughout the cavern. With a look of shock, the guard looked up, and saw Gregor standing before him, his sword blocking the guards sword inches from Luxa's neck. A look of pure terror spread across the guards face.

The look on Gregor's face made it clear that he would not grant mercy to anybody who harmed or attempted to harm Luxa. Before the guard even had time to move his sword, Gregor's sword was lodged in the mans throat.

With inhuman speed, Gregor whirled around, and blocked a blow from another guard. Sidestepping, he stabbed the man through the heart. Within moments, six guards lay dead around Gregor's feet.

Gregor looked over the the councilman. He seemed horrified, but the look was quickly replaced with confidence. "I expected no less. After all, you are the warrior of prophecy." The man gave a wicked Grin to Gregor. "But you shall not survive. I am confident that Lord Hayden will end you, after all, he has trained for years, so that he may succeed in this particular fight."

Gregor raised one eyebrow at him. "Really? Well now, that's comforting. Either way, it's clear that you have committed treason, so it would not be held against me should I kill you now."

A look of pure terror crossed the councilman's face. "H-hayden, k-kill him."

Gregor looked over to Hayden, ready to fight if need be. Much to his surprise Hayden was not preparing to attack, he was just standing there.

"No. I agreed with your terms on the grounds that I would have Luxa, and here you have ordered her execution." Hayden spat at the councilman, before walking over and grabbing the mans throat. "I have committed treason, so I am doomed to die no matter what I say or do today. If I must die, so shall you!"

With that, Hayden pulled a small knife out of his suit, and brought it through the councilman's throat. With a few gurgling sounds, the councilman fell to the floor, spat out a mouthful of blood, and went limb, dead.

With that, many of the guards became afraid for their lives, since they had assisted the man in treason, so they all began to run away. In an instant Mareth stood up and shouted at them with such a commanding voice they all stopped and looked at him. "STOP THIS MADNESS! As human representative in the underland council, I hereby strip the regalian council of any and all power. Guards, no charges shall be pressed upon you should you lay down your weapons now, you were simply following orders, as you should." He turned to Hayden. "And then there is you. Guards, kill this man."

As Mareth's order reached the ears of the guards, they all fumbled frantically for their weapons. Once they had taken up arms, they wasted no time in attacking Hayden. Hayden didn't so much as blink as the first guard charged at him.

Moments before the guard crashed into Hayden, Hayden sidestepped grabbing the guards hand, twisted it, and disarmed him, thus arming himself. This all happened in the blink of an eye, far to fast for the average soldier to see.

Gregor went stiff with shock. He knew he would have to be the one to kill Hayden. It was bluntly obvious that Hayden was just as fast, if not faster, than Ripred, and Ripred was the only opponent who could beat Gregor under any circumstances.

Just as quickly as before, Hayden parried a strike coming from his right, while ducking under another coming from his left. With a quick slash, he cut the calve of one man; the man dropped to his knees. Rolling to the side to avoid a downward strike, Hayden stabbed forward, through the fallen soldiers throat.

Leaning onto his back, Hayden kicked up, and landed on his feet. Instantly, he spun around too his right, lashing out, cutting open another guards chest. The guard fell to the ground, dead. Hayden quickly jumped over a blow to his feet, and rolled forward as soon as he hit the ground. While in mid-roll, Hayden slashed outward, knocking the feet out from underneath another soldier.

As Hayden ended his roll, he sprung up to his feet, and spun around. Bringing his foot up at the same time, It struck a guard who was just getting up in the temple, killing him instantly. Hayden grabbed the mans sword from his hand, and now duel wielding swords, rushed forward.

Hayden quickly let out three blows in the blink of an eye. One of the blows went right through a guards stomach, another through guards eye, and then both swords went into either armpit of another guard.

Yanking the swords out of the guard, he spun around, blocked a blow with one sword, while stabbing the attacker through the throat. Hayden jumped up to avoid another blow, and flattened himself in mid air to avoid a bow to the head.

As he came back down, he sprung into action the second he hit the floor. Kicking out, he knocked two guards off of their feet, and onto the ground. He sprung up, loosing no momentum, and kicked another guard in the side of the head, knocking him out.

He quickly stabbed downwards with both swords, killing the two fallen guards. He then used both swords, crossing them, and cut off the head of the final guard, as his unconscious body fell to the floor.

All of this had occurred in less than thirty seconds, and it rendered the crowd speechless. Not a single sound was made.

Gregor slowly slid his sword out of it's sheath, which hung at his side, even during the wedding. He took a few steps forward, and motion to the crowd to get Luxa. They instantly complied, moving her, still groaning, to the side and out of the way.

Due to the ground being covered in bodies and blood, Gregor moved off to the side, and the crowd moved to shape around him. As he repositioned himself, Hayden did so as well. Now, the ground was clear, and the crowd was in a large circle around Gregor and Hayden.

Gregor hardly had time to react as Hayden rushed forward. Gregor brought his sword up to block the blow.

And thus, a clang of metal rang throughout the cavern, one that may very well, mark the beginning of the greatest fight in all of history.

Like I said, shorter than normal. Oh well, I think it makes up for that in what actually happened. I know it seems unreasonable that luxa was sentenced to death for trying to destroy regalia, but you have to remember that the councilman was corrupt, and desperate at that moment. I doubt any of you expected it to play out the way it did. So, as usual all feedback is encouraged and appreciated, so give me any and all ideas! See you guys later!

See you peeps later,

Tytonic: Thoughts, ideas, concerns?

*Luxa Slumps to floor unconscious*

Tytonic: Well there's a concern. . . Gregor?

Gregor: Is she okay?!

Tytonic: She is fine, Hayden just hit her a bit hard.

Gregor: I'm going to gut that bastard!

Tytonic: Please do, it will be interesting.

*Gregor glares at Tytonic*

Tytonic: Oh, and by the way, be cautious. I have a few. . . Surprises, in store for you next chapter.
