Wow… that escalated quickly. Okay just for fun here I drew out Key, Anguish, and Fate- at least what I think they look like and you can find them in my deviantART under TonoRadish. Just for fun because some people poked interest into how I think they look. Fate personally is the coolest but Key is still my favorite. That's just a side note, now please… REVIEW!
"Melanie! Melanie!"
Melanie lit herself a cigarette and took a puff, "Yes, yes I know."
"Fate has instructed us to meet Kidd Lelliet!"
"Yes, yes I know."
"We'll talk tomorrow!"
Melanie abruptly looked up, "not looking like that you won't."
"But Fate said it would be okay?"
"Don't be stupid, Fate can't be trusted. He's a god of death, not love. You made him out to be some kind of angel but I don't trust him."
Matsuri looked down, maybe Melanie was right? But would Fate lie to her? No, that's silly. Fate was her guardian angel. Melanie saw the look of depression on Matsuri's face and went over to her.
"Orders or not, sigh, I guess I'll help you get to know Kidd."
"Really," she looked up with hope at the beautiful Melanie Cake.
"Yeah, not that you'll need my help, you're so damn cute."
Matsuri laughed and they decided to turn the TV on and watch more dramas. Matsuri picked up her notebook and pen and began to write the names of all the beautiful women.
Kidd opened his eyes and looked around his room. He got out of bed and walked into the Kitchen area where he saw Espier chopping up daikon radishes.
"Espier? How are you here?"
"Haha, you should try eating some daikon, it's supposed to be good for your skin."
"You think so?"
Kidd opened his eyes again and he was in his room. It was only just a dream. He got out of bed and walked into the kitchen area and looked round. The door to Espier's room had been shut since his death. Kidd decided that he would walk into there. Not once had he ever been in Espier's room. He walked to the door and his hand rested on the handle, but no matter how much he tried he couldn't bring himself to turn it and enter.
"Hey Kidd, what are you doing?"
Kidd started mumbling and Anguish watch. Kidd bobbed his head slightly and turned around.
"UH! UH! UH! I WAS THINKIN BOUT HER THINKIN BOUT ME! THINKIN BOUT US! WHO WE GONE ME! OPENED MY EYES YEAH IT WAS ONLY JUST A DREAAAAAAAMMMMM!"
"What the hell!?"
Kidd suddenly stopped and looked at the floor as he started walking back to his room, "I'm gonna get ready for school."
Anguish floated through the walls and noticed the bathroom door shut. She stared at the door and heard the water turn on.
"I realized yeah… It was only just a dream…"
Anguish stopped listening and went back into the kitchen area. Waiting on the counter was the Death Note. She picked it up and opened it, "no new names."
"I told you Anguish, I can't do anything to anyone who hasn't done anything to me."
Anguish put the book down, "Fate… Why does it have to be Kidd Lelliet?"
"So then… I'm Allan Walker!?"
Anguish took an apple from the counter and gobbled it up, "changing the hearts of Shinigami huh?"
The water shut off and Anguish floated around. Anguish wondered if Kidd really could be the Masaya Fate was talking about. Kidd left his room and saw Anguish floating around.
"So, you didn't find any other Shinigami?"
"No, just Ryuk."
Kidd didn't say anything else before he headed to the door, then he stopped, turned to the kitchen area, opened the fridge and pulled out the daikon radish and started eating it.
"What are you doing?"
"… it's good for your skin."
'That so?"
Kidd held it out to Anguish who reluctantly took a bite of it, "well it's no apple."
He munched at it some more as he walked along to school. Then Anguish spotted Matsui out of the crowd, waiting by the school gates. She saw Kidd and Anguish and smiled brightly.
"Hi there! You don't know me but my name is Matsuri and I've been watching you for a while now and I really like you! Would you please be my boyfriend!?"
Kidd walked right by her, not even flinching. DENIED! Anguish stopped with a shocked face and looked down and Matsuri and flew back over quickly to Kidd.
"Kidd! What did you just- why did you just ignore her!?"
Kidd stopped, "Hmm? Was she talking to me?"
Melanie pat Matsuri's back, "Hey, you'll have other chances."
"He completely ignored me?"
Light waked up to Kidd Lelliet, "Hey, why are you making that face?"
Kidd blushed a little bit and made the girliest face at Light, "A girl just confessed to me and I completely ignored her. I fell so bad."
Light flinched, "That's the creepiest face I've ever seen, please stop."
Kidd got all up in his face like a derp, "But Light."
Light sighed, "Girls like it when you're mean to them."
"Yeah, she just didn't do anything to me so I don't want her to feel bad."
"If that's the case then what did I ever do to you?"
"I don't know? I thought this is how friends are?"
Kidd stopped, he looked up at Light, "I don't think I've ever said that before?"
"What?"
"Hey Light, you're my first ever human friend."
Light stopped and stared down at Kidd, and Kidd realized it too, what he had just said. Kidd didn't move, maybe Light wouldn't notice? He had been pulled in for questioning before back when he lost his memories so he should be okay? Light softened his gaze.
"What, your first friend was a goldfish?"
Kidd laughed, "Nope, he was a sheep."
Anguish looked down at Kidd, was he serious? It didn't look like it, he never once showed it, but did Kidd actually care about Key? Without even realizing it Anguish extended a vine out to Kidd and he turned around. Anguish stopped, why did she do that? She just wanted to touch him for some reason, as if to make sure he was real.
"Kidd? We have to get to class."
"Right, I just… thought I saw something."
Anguish watched Kidd and Kidd watched Anguish.
"Something? Like what?"
"I'm not sure, but I hope to find some others."
"I have no idea what you're talking about most of the time."
"That's okay because I don't either."
Anguish nodded, she had to get back to her "search." The more she flew around the more she wondered why Kidd liked Key so much? And then she realized what the nurse had said, how Kidd was honest and kind and how that could change Shinigami. Anguish had only heard of this but once before, with a Shinigami named Gelus. Anguish wasn't prepared to die for him or anything like that, she just had to wonder if she was doing the right thing when she lied to him.
"Anguish."
She turned around, "Hello Fate."
"I have another Death Note for you."
"Hmm? Who's is this?"
"It was Harm's but I've claimed ownership."
"Harm's? Are you sure it was wise to take one from him?"
"That isn't important. Here, I pass on ownership to you."
Anguish took the note book, "now what?"
"I have someone specific in mind for you to give this to."
"Very well."
Back in the Shinigami world…
Key sat around in his cell, how long had it been since Nu had last visited him. He wondered if Kidd was alright. He wondered what Fate was doing. He wondered, that was all he could do.
"Hey this part is new."
Key looked over, that voice was strangely familiar. And then he saw it, "Espier!? What the hell are you doing here!?"
"So, the user of the death note goes to neither heaven nor hell but to the Shinigami world? Cool. Shame I'm not a Shinigami though. And this constant business of dying over and over again is a real pain in the ass."
"Espier how did you get in here!?"
"How? I saw a cave and wondered in. It's been really fun exploring-"
He suddenly gasped for breath, held onto his chest, and fell to the floor.
"A heart attack? But you're dead?"
He got back up, "This one guy, Coin I think his name was, told me all about what happens to note book users when they die. It's call repenting. We re-die all the deaths we dealt until we run out of victims and then- poof. We disappear. Why didn't you know that?"
"I don't hand out my Death Note very often kid, and when I do I tend to ditch the human when they start to bore me."
"I visited Kidd the other night."
"What? How!?"
"Well, until I die I can travel through the hearts of those who loved me. Well, I mean it's like a clairvoyance thing. I can't do it very often because- gah!"
Another heart attack. Then he got back up, "Dying really sucks."
Key got up, "Then you can tell him he's in danger!"
Espier looked shocked, "But he gave up the Death Note?"
"Well he's come in contact with another one! And Fate- he's a Shinigami- he's planning something! I'm not sure what but apparently he's been collecting Death Notes and it looks like he's handing them out to humans like candy! You have to warn Kidd!"
"Did you say Fate?"
"Yeah. Why?"
Espier stared at the ground and clenched his fists, "He's the one who killed me."
Espier wondered into the nurse's office back when Kidd was sick, but the nurse wasn't there. He was about to turn around and leave to find Kidd and Key to tell them where it was until out of the corner of his eye he saw something very strange. He knew it couldn't be right but he checked anyway. There, in the nurse's shoulder bag, was a death note. He touched it once and ran out of the room. He needed to be sure he could kill it off but how does one kill a Shinigami anyway? He asked Key but he didn't know. In secret Espier started to watch and listen to the Shinigami known as Fate. He watched when Key and Fate would fight, he watched when the nurse and Fate would talk, and finally Kidd gave up his death note to Espier. Now Espier could make sure his friend was safe as well as get close to Kira, maybe they could team up? They could change the world and make it safe for good kids like Kidd Lelliet. But then he lost consciousness, he found himself walking to the nurse's office with Key's Death Note in hand and there he gave ownership to Fate, the Shinigami and died.
"Espier?"
"Huh, what?"
"You spaced on me for a minute there."
"Right, I'll try to get to Kidd tonight."
"And while you're at it…"
"I think I can arrange for that."
AWWWWWW GURL! Seriously this series went from a gag to a fighting fic? For serious! REVIEW PEOPLE!
