CH 25: Black pup
Maka walked down one of the dark hallways, mumbling softly to herself about very important things, like what book she should read next and where she should read it. There was a small yip behind her and she turned then took a step back as a black fluffy massed hurtled towards her.
She squeaked as it jumped on her, knocking her to the ground. She landed on her elbow and winced. The angel blinked and looked at the ball of fluff; it had blue eyes and a pink tongue that lolled out to the side. "Well hello there." She said and sat up, rubbing her elbow.
The little black puppy let out an excited yip. Maka smiled softly and pet it's head. She sat there for a few moments, petting the little ball of black fluff until there was the sound of claws on stone and the thumping of large paws.
Maka looked up and squeaked softly, at the end of the hallway stood a massive black dog with floppy ears and bright amber eyes, it stood at about 8ft, maybe taller. The dog growled at the angel, its fur rising slightly. The puppy jumped up and ran over. Maka got to her feet slowly, her eyes wide. "I didn't hurt him." She said softly. "Look at him, he's fine." The dog continued to growl.
"Mrs. O' Leara!" snapped a voice. The dog whined softly and lowered itself to the ground. Soul walked from behind it, his red eyes flashing dangerously. He touched the dog's head and shadows covered the dog, the silhouette shrinking. The shadows melted off and a woman was kneeling on the floor, she had a kind face, the same amber eyes and brown hair. "My apologies, my lord." She said, her voice was kind and gentle. "I was simply protecting Tobi."
"Tobi likes her." Said a soft voice from behind Mrs. O'Leara. A little boy walked from behind her, he looked maybe 7 or 8 years old, he had scruffy black hair and large blue eyes. "Tobi thinks she's pretty!" said the boy happily, running over to the angel and hugging her legs.
Maka blinked and knelt down. "Your are to precious!" said happily. Tobi giggled and wrapped his little arms around her neck and hugged her. She smiled happily and hugged him back. Both Soul and Mrs. O'Leara growled softly. Maka narrowed her eyes at the demon. "He's a little kid Soul, calm down." She said flatly. Tobi let go of her and ran over to his mother. "Mama mama!" he squealed happily. "Tobi thinks she smells like flowers!" Mrs. O'Leara glanced at the angel. "My lord, if I may, who is this girl?"
"Maka, princesses of angels, daughter of Kami, the lilium soul, and my personal play toy." Smirked Soul. Maka glared at him and crossed her arms. Mrs. O'Leara got up and walked over to the angel, the plump woman was shorter than Maka. "an angel huh?" she looked her up and down." And the lilium, that's a rare combination." She said then her face broke into a kind, beaming smile and pulled her into a tight hug. "Oh my dear, aren't you just a peach! I'm so glad the prince found such a pretty and sweet young lady! Ooooo Tobi's gonna follow you around everywhere! I tell he just adores you!" she said happily, swaying slightly. Maka looked at Soul and beamed happily.
