"No seriously, we have to fight that," howled Light.

I grinned wildly, "Alright, sounds good to me. Let's kill it!"

"You mean you're not scared," asked Misa.

I reached into the sand and pulled out a pipe that was sticking out, "Of course not! I'm Carmella of The Tigers! If I couldn't fight a demon test subject nurse, well what sort of godfather would I be? Coin lend me your wings!"

I swung the pipe around and waited. But Coin simply pulled my back when a talon extended from the big black mass of the nurse's new body.

"She's been through the door."

"Oh? You mean Kidd Lelliet isn't the only one who has been able to pass through," asked L, as if none of this were happening.

"Yes, I have seen this once before. A long time ago a young man came across the door as he wondered the Shinigami realm waiting to die, only he somehow found the ruins of the star door and opened it. The two did not synchronize and he became a monster, like this woman," stated Rem, very calmly, pointing at the beast.

"How did you defeat-" I cut myself off when I took the pipe and crashed it right into my skull.

The other humans screamed in panic, L looking on in surprise, while the Shinigami merely watched, un-phased.

"It's about time this started happening," said Ryuk watching on as the humans one by one dropped.

"W-what's happening," called out Light as he collapsed from a heart attack.

I opened my eyes again, we all did, as if nothing happened, "What the hell was that!?"

"To atone for the murders committed in life you will suffer each one consistently, and when you've run out of deaths you disappear," said Hurt.

"It'll be difficult for you to fight the creature while constantly dying yourselves. We wish you luck," laughed Harm.

Light looked at the situation and thought about it, he looked to L who seemed to be doing the same thing. I thought about it as well. We have two master strategists, two ruthless killers, and five Shinigami, only three of which are seemingly willing to help. Still, looking at Ryuk, I'm pretty sure only Coin and Rem will actually assist us.

"How did you defeat the other one," I asked as the nurse approached us, her thin legs giving out a little on her huge clawed body.

"Last time it was different, the boy only went through the door, where as she had changed on entry but also seemed to come into contact with the door. At the moment she is on par with the powers of Hell itself," stated Rem assessing the situation.

"Tell me something," I shouted as she grew closer, letting out that howl.

"The King dispelled it, but the King is probably dealing with Key and the fact that the door will be opening again soon. The King is absolute but he cannot be here to stop the creature right now. We are on our own."

"Yeah so like I said before, let's kill it!"

Very ironically the pole I was holding crashed down on me once again, efficiently killing me. Similarly the others began to die at random. I rose from the grave once again.

"How irritating," I vaulted my pipe at the monster, it landed perfectly and stuck out in an awkward fashion. It only delayed the creature because he began to charge once again.

"You won't kill it like that," said Coin.

"Thanks Captain Obvious," I huffed, kicking the Shinigami.

"Alright, we'll strike it at random for now, see if we can pinpoint a weakness, these things have died before, they'll die again. We'll attack in groups, the rest of us will defend those who die until they wake up. Got it?"

"That's my Light! So smart!" called Misa latching onto the student's back.

"I agree, although I think our shots should focus mainly at the eyes and the mouth. Those areas are exposed and not shadowed. I've deduced them to be primary targets," said L biting his thumb.

"I will assist you," said Rem.

"Yeah, I'll help you guys," groaned Coin.

"If you cannot defeat it we will assist," said Hurt.

"But only as a last resort," finished the other head Harm.

"The sand below us is constantly changing the terrain, so we can probably find weapons if we dig around!" I yelled out reaching below me, gathering another pipe.

They followed suit and the Shinigami flew ahead.

"L!? What are you doing!?"

He was just sitting there, "Don't worry, I plan to fight but with my brain."

The rest of us sighed. Once again I vaulted my weapon but this time instead of hitting the monster, it was deflected by some invisible force.

"What?"

"How are we supposed to hit it," asked Misa in distress.

Coin stared at the creature coming for us, "Alright, fine."

The next thing you know he puts his head in the sand. Coin what the hell!? Eventually the rest of his body is under the sand until finally he jumps out of the ground to strike!?

"TAKE THAT!"

"Coin… it's over there," we said pointing.

"Shoot…"

He went back into the dirt and this time hit the beast, it didn't do any visible damage but we found the shield was down for a moment.

"Quick!"

I reached into the dirt again this time cutting my hand on what was a shard of glass. I ran up to the creature and stabbed the shard into it's mouth, putting the rest of my hand inside and cutting the inside of it apart. That is until it grew fangs and chomped down onto my wrist. I screamed and was released, only my hand was growing paler until it turned black like the monster.

The monster then opened several large red eyes all over its body. We were wrong, it only seemed to become more dangerous. It's form began to scream and howl and change. Two main sets of eyes opened and the nurse was revealed. She smiled with jagged fangs and shot one of her long shadowed arms, catching Misa. An even larger mouth opened in the center of her shadow. Holy shit.

Rem's wings stretched out and he flew at crazy speeds to save Misa. The bones of his ribs shifted and became sharp, cutting the black arm of the abomination. It howled once more, taking the form of a human, but only in shape. It was still covered in eyes and howling. Why does it keep changing?

"I am thinking the same thing," said L.

"What is it," I asked as Misa was flown back to us.

"I believe with each form she takes on a special ability, but she also is able to regenerate instantly when she changes."

"So that's it, we'll just have to kill her with one blow."

"How do we manage that," Light screamed.

A shot of light flashed out and shot at the monster, only it flashed away. Where did that come from? We looked behind us to see Hurt and Harm.

"Humans… your time is up," said Hurt.

"It seems this time she can move quickly," said Harm.

"All beings have a center, no matter what form this woman takes, as long as we can strike that she'll be defeated," added L.

"I like this human," said Hurt.

"It's nice to see such hope for humanity in his intelligence," finished Harm.

Ryuk only laughed at Light's jealous face. I couldn't help but picture a bromance between them. Maybe that was Kidd's influence. So we find the center, we find her weak point. We can defeat her and save Kidd as well as the rest of the world.

"I'm not used to playing the good guy but I guess we can give it a shot," I grinned.
