FORGIVE ME! I've never been very good at writing fight scenes, but it's a skill I really want to develop so keep with it. I'm serious, if it wasn't for all the fighting I'm trying to avoid doing this fic would almost be done and maybe even updated daily. Wish me luck.

The nurse had changed forms again, back into the ball of shadow with a face. It was disgusting and smelled like rafflesia. Six long black arms covered in black fangs shot out at us, when Hurt shot out a beam of light once again from his eye that was usually shut. It effectively destroyed two of the arms while another one was eaten by Harm. Since when were there such powerful Shinigami?

Oh, today's narrator is Coin. Hey kids. The remaining legs reached for the humans but nothing came of it, it only dug into the sand. For you see, we Shinigami are protecting our respected humans until the final fight with Fate. But before that can happen we have to defeat this abomination that was once the attractive school nurse. I dug into the ground, my ability, until the sand was changing. The terrain on the outskirts of the Shinigami world is ever changing. We Shinigami don't venture out often because we get lost in time and don't come back. There are also many strange obscenities hiding out here in the wastes even we Shinigami do not dare to mess with, well other than right now.

The sand gave way to what looked like the remains of a castle without a top. There was less room to fight for the monster so it changed to its quick human-esk form. The shadow bounced around so quickly even my eyes couldn't keep up with it. It slammed Misa into a wall with one of its arms, it used another to get L and Light, but it did nothing to Carmella… which was a bad sign for obvious reasons. I turned to my human keeper to see her trying to claw off the shadows enveloping her arm. That's right, she was bitten, does that mean she'll transform too?

I heard a yell and watched as the other humans died in the monster's grip. It let go and their bodies dropped. I stared at them but turned back to Carmella when she started screaming. The creature turned to us Shinigami, we were next. That is until I saw black wings and a clown face fly over us.

"Just kidding," called Light with a rusted sword.

He jammed the thing down her throat, only she slammed him and Ryuk away. I was strangely relieved that the humans were okay, their deaths were caused by the notebooks, not the nurse.

"Good job Light, but it still isn't dead," said L chewing on his thumbnail.

"We'll need something more than lucky shots," said Ryuk.

"What the actual hell is that," called out a new voice.

We all turned around to see Key, the sheep Shinigami. He was followed by the spirit of a boy and girl. Yes, that was the ugly girl who tried to kill Carmella.

"No time to explain, we have to kill it," I yelled out to the new group.

"I'm tired," said Hurt.

"I'm full," said Harm.

"I'm bored," said Ryuk.

"Guys! Seriously- what about this who super hero mission we had going-"

I was cut off by a shadow. It zoomed around and roared… like a tiger? We all looked to where the thing stopped moving. It just laughed quietly until triumphantly raising a fist in the air.

"HELL YEAH!"

It was Carmella, her arm and both her legs were covered in shadow. It looked like it was trying to consume her but she just used it to make her faster. She jumped thirty feet to the nurse and revealed her cute fang jabbing a black arm into the nurse's stomach.

"Yo guys, hurry it up. I don't know what kind of time frame I've got so until this blackness eats me completely let's skin the bitch!"

She didn't sound scared or worried, she sounded like this was what she was waiting for. Yes, she really is a strange human. It's been said from time to time that a Shinigami will adopt the traits of their human, I guess that's true in some ways. I realized this as I dug into the ground to strike again. And so our team struck out to fight the monster. We had gained an advantage now that someone could actually keep up. Blow after blow, until finally it was her core we struck. One last strike should do the job. I decided that I would do the honors, until a black haired white t shirt frog leaped to the distance and kicked the ho in the face.

"THAT WAS MY KILL!?"

L only smiled at me. He refuses to do anything the whole fight and then takes the kill. Screw him. The only thing left to take care of was Carmella, the darkness taking her whole. She tried to repress it, but it wasn't stopping. I thought if we killed the monster she would be okay but all that's happening is that she's taking the nurse's place.

"Uh, I think I can help," said Key raising a finger.

Well that's convenient? Key's horns let off a soft glow, very feminine. The light dusted onto Carmella's black spots, the clouded fires blotting away. This is Key's ability, something he almost never uses simply because we, the Shinigami, think it's oober gay. She opened her eyes.

"Hey! That was pretty cool!"

"Yeah it was really cute," smiled the ugly girl, who looked 10 percent less ugly when she smiled.

Carmella yawned, "but now I'm sleepy."

"That can happen sometimes," groaned Key, he hates being called cute.

"Hey buddy that's adorable," I said adding salt to the wound.

"Hey… has anyone seen Light," asked the ghost boy called Espier.

We all looked around, noticing Ryuk had vanished as well. The humans killed over again. I wondered if they killed several hundred people before killing themselves? No, they didn't know they would die over and over. It was then Lawliett- woah shit secret's out, L said:

"Light has probably gone to overthrow the Shinigami King, though I'm not sure how he plans to do it, probably using his silver tongue."

"We'll go find him," said Hurt.

"And deal with him," finished Harm.

L crouched like a bird onto one of their backs and they took off. Misa told Rem that she would have to take care of Light and make sure he escaped, so she followed as well. That left Carmella, myself, Key, Espier, and Fatty to find Kidd and save the world. I swear this is why we kill humans as often as we do. You don't see cats betraying each other and gossiping and being a holes in general. Humans can really suck sometimes.

Wow talk about a cop out. I was almost like "use a magic lamp to wish the nurse dead." Let's not even talk about the dying over and over again plot hole. Hope you're liking it! XD
