ME NO OWN FAIRY TAIL!

Faith's Kiss

The castle was dark and ever looming. The moat surrounding it was dried out with grass poking its way through along with mushrooms and maybe some flowers that had started to shrivel. The trees around the castle seemed to stretch away from it with fear, their bare branches shivering as the wind blew and rustling as they hit the other branches around them, trying in a desperate attempt to get farther from the castle that they dreaded. Dried grass covered the ground and made it looked like hay had been scattered and left there till they shriveled and died, a cracked crumbly cobble stone leading a crooked path to the eerie wooden gates and far beyond them. Even though it was midday the sky was dark with heavy clouds that hid the sun from view forever.

"Is this it?" Lucy asked a little timidly, Plue being hugged to her chest as she gave the castle a glance over, turning her brown eyes to the back of Erza's head. She didn't need to see the older girl's face to know the anger that flared in those violet eyes and the fierce determination that was set amongst them. She could tell all that by just how her friend was standing, shoulder's tensed and hand coiled tightly around the hilt of her sword, back rigid.

"Seems like it." Gray replied trying to look casual even though he wanted to so badly run into the castle and strangle everyone within the stone walls, but he knew he couldn't. Erza would strangle him for not having enough patience and waiting out until they had a safe plan formed. He was just so tempted to go along with his own plan at the moment, but he also knew it would do no good so he tried to convince himself that dying by Erza's hands wasn't a death he would prefer any day.

Without a word to either of her friends, Erza started to walk stiffly forward, her armor clanking together silently as the others took that as their cue to follow.

Lucy gulped, unconsciously hugging her spirit close to her as she stared at the castle nervously. Will this mission of theirs truly bring Natsu back to normal? Or will it all be a futile attempt and whatever this guild plans on doing succeed? Lucy just hoped it was not the latter and willed all her heart to believe it was the former, but there was still some doubt within her. Will they ever get Natsu back?

"Mira?" The girl in front of him smiled kindly at him, a hint of sadness in her smile. Her beautiful white hair cascaded to her back and over her shoulders and down her front messily as if it hasn't been brushed in days. The image of her hair brought a pain to Natsu's heart as he was suddenly reminded of the old Mira who was still where he had left her, missing the future them with heavy hearts.

"Natsu," Mira said softly, pretty blue eyes looking into Natsu's own dark ones. Natsu leaned on the edge of his chair, unbelieving. "You seem different." she said only to shake her head. "No, well, yes, but I mean from the last time I saw you, you were more guarded than you are now. Have you fully remembered?" she asked with hope in her voice, the same hope shimmering in her eyes as she took a step forwards. Natsu looked down as if ashamed of himself, slipping down in the chair that creaked under his weight.

"Sorry," he mumbled knowing that the bright hope drained out of the girl in front of him to be replaced by deep disappointment. He looked up at her with a small smile. "But I only know the basics really. And…" he trailed off, his heart feeling heavy. Mira slowly moved towards him, bending down to rest on her knees as she grabbed both of his shoulders and met his eyes with her own. She looked so kind and gentle, fragile almost as she looked at him and it made his heart stop as all he could do was stare right back at her as she smiled.

"You can tell me, Natsu." she promised him, making him blush lightly and break his gaze with her, looking down at his lap. He couldn't help the smile that slipped on his face only to be replaced by a frown as he suddenly remembered what he was going to tell her.

"I've been met by my past, present, and future self." he told her quietly as she took her hands off his shoulders and laid them in her lap, her full attention on him. "They—they showed me what happened in my past and then showed me my present—well not really my present, something that was happening now, something I really needed to know…" he rambled, nervous. "Then they showed me my future… and Mira… it's horrible." he said, looking back into her eyes. Her smile never slipped off her face nor did that look that had drawn Natsu to her eyes disappeared.

"Then do you know the importance of getting back?" she asked him, leaning closer. Natsu shook his head, pink locks falling into his eyes.

"No… I-I couldn't think of a way that might return me and with all these missing gaps within my memories—these huge gaps—I don't think I'll be able to find a way! I mean, I could try to use my past experiences to try and help me… but I have no clue on what they are." he told her. Mira looked down almost sadly, but she also looked as if she was contemplating something. "I'm so—" he was quickly cut off by a peck to the lips. He stared wide eyed in front of him as Mira stood, the blood rushing to his head. She slowly walked away from him, her dress barely touching the floor full of debris.

"I have faith in you Natsu." she told him as her figure stared to fade. "You'll find a way, I know you will." she said to him, her eyes bright even though she was becoming transparent. Then she was gone. All Natsu could do was stare unblinkingly with wide eyes at the spot she once was, mind still trying to work over his jumbled thoughts.

"Mira…" he breathed through slightly parted lips, finally blinking and thinking over what had just happened. He brushed a finger over his lips and blinked at the spot Mira once had been standing, heart pounding in his chest.
