ME NO OWN FAIRY TAIL!

Illusions

Inside the castle seemed to be empty with dust filling the corridors and darkness evading the stone walls and floors, the archways a nest for spiders and the cracks in the walls a cozy home for the mice and cockroaches. The only source of light the castle seemed to have was the dim sun light that filtered in through the grim on the windows. Lucy looked around, her shoes grinding against the stone flooring, her head looking left and right as if looking for some signs of life, but found none.

"Maybe it's a trap?" Gray voice, disappointment and anger brimming in his voice as he kicked a pebble, watching as it skipped across the floor while he stuffed his hands inside of his pockets, frowning. Erza did not answer, but her armored fist did clench as if the words fueled her anger even more. Lucy shuddered and Happy let out a small whimper, both not liking the possibilities of this being a trap.

"It can't be a trap! Can it?" Lucy doubted as her gaze went to the floor, troubled. In her arms Plue trembled and tried to offer his mistress words of comfort through words Lucy could only understand as "Pun, pun!"

"But why would it be a trap?" Happy asked softly, trailing in behind the group with eyes that began to water. All he wanted to do was save Natsu and for things to be back to normal. He didn't know what he would do if this turned out to be a trap. Cry? Run? Scream?

"Ginjera could be lying for all we know. He never gave us his word that he was telling the truth." Gray pointed out glumly, eyes narrowing.

"No, he was telling the truth." Erza said finally, her scarlet colored bangs shadowing her eyes from view as her grip on her sword tightened considerably. Gray, Lucy, and Happy looked up at her as if asking her to explain. "There are certain types of spells that can create an illusion such as this. It's an ancient spell that only works on ancient items, like this castle. We could still be outside walking on the path, but to us it seems as if we are already inside." she told them, lifting her eyes to observe her surroundings.

"How can you tell if this is an illusion?" Lucy asked, curious. Erza bent down, balancing on the front of her foot, setting her sword softly down on the ground beside her.

"An illusion is just that, an illusion. It is easy to destroy and easy to create." at this, her hand curled around something just above the stone ground, and gave a harsh pull, the sound of ripping reaching all their ears. A few seconds passed and the walls and floor around them started to become hazy and fade from sight, showing them the same walk way they had walked to reach the castle. Lucy and Gray looked at each other with surprise on their faces before they turned to look at Erza's hand, seeing that it was the dried out grass she had pulled from within the cracks of the broken cobble stone. Erza shook the grass from her hand, watching as it fell on the cobble stone, then picked her sword from where it laid beside her, standing up to her full height.

A few feet in front of them was a large door similar to the one they thought they had walked through before, only that this actually was the real door to the castle, and not the first door.

"How'd you know to do that?" Happy asked.

"I took a mission a few years back and I stumbled onto something similar to this. It took me thirty minutes to figure out what was happening when I was picking something off the floor and I had just so happened to disable the spell." she explained as she began to lead the short way to the door with the others following.

This time when they opened the door to the actual castle, they were met by a wide room with three corridors and no windows, four torches that hung on the wall the only source of light to give. One of the corridors was right in front of them while the other two were on their left and right.

"They sure like to mess with people's minds." Lucy muttered under her breath as she eyed the corridor to their left, trying to find anything else but the long stretch of stone.

"We'll have to split up." Erza said as she walked to stand in front of the corridor facing them. Lucy jumped and whirled around to stare at Erza's back in surprise, brown eyes and mouth wide.

"What?! Didn't you hear what Ginjera said? The people of this guild have S-class power and above! How can one person possible fight all of them off at once?" Lucy pointed out. Gray looked behind him slightly, intrigued at how Erza was going to answer and agreeing silently with Lucy. After a few moments of silent thinking, Erza spoke.

"If one of us finds the guild members, hide and warn the others with this small lacrima." she said, her sword disappeared as she pulled three small lacrimas from within her pocket and handed them to Lucy and Gray, keeping one for herself. Gray tossed the tiny lacrima up in the air once before he jammed it into his pants that had managed to stay on this long surprisingly. He just needed to keep them on so he doesn't lose the lacrima. Before the others could say anything else, Erza walked off into the corridor facing the front door of the castle, leaving Lucy and Gray alone in the room.

"Do you really think that finding this Yugsn guy will fix Natsu?" Lucy asked quietly as she looked down at the ground. Gray hummed a little in responds as he surveyed his corridor that was on the right.

"It's all we can do. We won't even know if we tried, but if this bastard doesn't fix Natsu, we'll always find another way cause we're Fairy Tail, we're always there for our family." he replied, walking off into the corridor leaving Lucy alone. Lucy stood there a few moments, letting Gray's words feed her determination before she set off into the last corridor, Happy following with his own determination set.

The corridor was dim like the room with few torches lighting the way down the path. It seemed to take a while before Lucy finally saw the end. Tables, a bar, and other stuff crowded in what seemed to be a large room with people inside. She froze and quickly went into the shadows, pulling Happy close to her and Plue tighter against her chest. A girl that couldn't be older than the age of fifteen passed by arguing with a man in his mid-twenties, a boy maybe a year older than her, and a girl in her early twenties or late teens. They didn't notice her as they passed, too engross in this argument they were having, disappearing from Lucy's sight. Happy clutched at her leg, shivering slightly as they held their breaths, finally hearing the light chatter of people inside the room. Shakily, Lucy held the lacrima close to her mouth and whispered a few words, knowing that the others would hear her.

"I've found them."

Mira was busily scrubbing at the counter top, her mind wondering to the pink haired teen upstairs, seemingly dead to the world. She was so out of it that she didn't even notice a kid walk up to the bar and try to get her attention.

"Miss? Um, Miss? Hello? You in there?" a sigh. "Hey, yo, Miss!" the kid scream, jarring Mira from her thoughts and gaining a few of the other guild members around them attention.

"Huh? Oh, sorry…" she mumbled out a bit embarrassed. "How may I help you?" she asked sweetly as she set her rag down on the side and leaned forward to get a better view of the kid.

"I'm Kandri Ter and I would like to join Fairy Tail!"
