So here we are, this story is coming to an end and let me tell you… I ship Mako and Gamagoori from Kill La Kill so hard. Also, if you haven't started watching Karneval yet… what are you doing with your life? Recommend me some anime people, I'm running into some free time so I'd like to catch up. Fun fact about this chapter, I actually wanted the city area to be the last fighting ground before Fate but I felt like Hari would thrive there more. So this area looks like a circus, which I love that stuff. I've never been to a real circus but I love anime with a circus theme. Like the art always impresses me and there's always this dark side thing and everything is magical in circus anime. Lol.
We open in on… well I'm being swung from the rafters by a couple of trapeze guys. Kidd and Key are in the boxes watching me swing around in a glittery outfit. Kidd grabs hold of his neighbor in the box, a lollipop man, and starts to chew on his sugary head while I'm flung through the rafters.
"A LITTLE HELP HERE!?"
"But they told us to stay in our seats," he responded.
"I bet he's never seen the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya," Key said to Kidd.
"That does seem to be the case," he nodded.
"WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT!?"
"You can fly Espier!" Kidd yelled, grabbing a chocolate person and chomping away at his legs.
A cloth monkey grabbed me by my angles and held me over a mechanical shark pit, "WHAT!? WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO!?"
"Your fault for not watching anime with me," he sang out.
And then I was dropped, "SHIT!? HELP ME!"
Key left the boxes and flew and caught me, "You should watch anime, it's good for the soul."
Then a checkered Elephant came over below us and stood on its back two legs, lifting it's trunk up, and shot FIREWORKS AT US!? Key basically exploded but I landed safely on a target… wait… A clown popped out of the target and started chewing on my leg with its pointed teeth.
"KIDD! HOW DO I FLY!?"
He paused looking at me and at Key who jumped into the shark tank to put out the fire only to be attacked by the robo sharks. He focused on me now, as many more clowns appeared.
"Believe."
"THE HELL!?"
"Believe it and you can do it."
"KIDD THAT IS SO SAPPY!"
"WELL DO YOU WANNA FLY OR NOT!?"
"I DO!"
"THEN BELIEVE YOU CAN DO IT OR YOUR CLOWN FOOD!"
"FINE!"
I closed my eyes, I believe. I believe. I can do it. Yes! I BELIEVE I CAN FLY! I BELIEVE I CAN TOUCH THE SKY! Okay… it's not working. How do I believe in something as stupid as that? Everyone knows that one of mankind's greatest depressions is that they will never fly on their own. We need planes and fire and-
"STOP THINKING AND START BELIEVEING STUPID," he yelled.
The next thing I knew I was glowing red, and I leapt into the air and… Oh my god I'm flying!? Take that mankind! Woosh! Now what do I do? Ah! I can't control this thing!? Ahhh! I ended up crashing all over the circus, setting it on fire, and turning it to rubble with each blast. Out of my control but efficient. Cool. When I landed all the colors were cone and everything was muted.
"Okay, when you land flip your hair," Kidd said posing.
I managed to land, stumbling a little, but stood back up and flipped my hair.
"Oh my god that was the best cosplay ever," Key screamed out soaking wet next to Kidd.
Was that really it? That seemed almost too easy, there wasn't even a final boss? Where might the door be? I looked around the ruins for something, but didn't see anything. Then I heard a moaning and a faint crying. What is that? I saw a woman with a distorted face and broken thin legs. There was a man chewing on her wrist with fangs. The crying, was a child with two heads. Woah… this is getting really creepy really quickly. Then the sound of a music box could be heard. I looked over to see two people dancing on long legs along the fires. There was a little boy with stitched closed eyes and a knob turning on his back as he moved around. Then… I felt it. The ground shook beneath us. We looked up and the top of the tent was ripper open to reveal a large man with glowing rainbow eyes. The ring leader. He roared like a lion and reached down to the more disheveled of his circus, effectively devouring them. Now when he roared he sounded like a lion and screaming.
We stared up at it, how will we stop that thing? It roared again, only this time it sounded like a thousand birds chirping. It hurt, I grabbed my ears and shut my eyes, but when I opened them again the ruins of the circus were gone. There was only a field of flowers and sunshine. What? I saw Kidd and Key playing in the flowers like nothing was wrong.
"GUYS! GUYS! COME ON SOMETHING'S WRONG!?"
A golden butterfly flew by me and suddenly, I wanted to play too. I smiled and hopped over the them, making flower crowns and dancing and singing. Why are we here anyway? Then I saw a rabbit, with a little top hat and an adorable magical shot gun.
"Huh?"
It fired and I pushed Kidd out of the way, getting shot myself. I'll be fine, but my leg is done for. Kidd seemed to snap out of it, so did Key. That's it, this is an illusion.
"Guys! Close your eyes!"
"What?"
"Everything here is fake! We'll have to rely on sound to find the ring master!"
We all closed our eyes and listened for the sound of the giant's stomach digesting. I could hear Key going into Gundam mode. And then he launched himself when we heard air escape his large black mouth. I decided to glow as well and fight.
"CUT HIS LIMBS OFF! I'M USING MY POWER TO ALTER HIS COMPOSITION INTO THAT OF A CELESTIAL!"
"A WHAT," I yelled back to Kidd, "NO MORE OTAKU SPEAK!"
"CHOP HIM UP! KEY WILL HELP!"
"I CAN'T SEE HIM! I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN PINPOINT HIS LIMBS WITH SOUND ONLY!"
"Don't worry! Key's Gundam powers double like a Nintendo DS!"
"What," I yelled and Key said, "Woah!? I can do that!?"
"USE THE STYLIS!"
"I jumped onto Key's back and found a pair of glasses with screens instead of lenses and began working the stylis. A great red glow surrounded us and I drew circles around the enemy and Key flew us around. With each loop we made, a limb was chopped off. We did it… because of anti social otaku powers. Sweet. The ringleader was destroyed and the world turned back into the dead circus. We all opened our eyes as Key and I flew back to Kidd.
"We did it!" I cheered.
"Now let's move on to the next door and kick butt," danced Key.
Kidd smiled only he suddenly dropped to the ground, gritting his teeth and cluthing his ears. We dropped down to him, and when I touched him I could hear what he was hearing, so could Key. Fate was reaching inside Kidd's head.
"Kidd! Hang on! Kidd!" I called out.
"So there's still a part of Fate living inside of Kidd," mumbled Key trying to shake Kidd out of it, "Kidd. Kidd, can you hear me? I want you to listen to my voice and my voice only. Can you do that?"
Kidd let out a scream of pain and I was starting to panic when suddenly Key started singing. Wait a minute… I know this song. I started singing with Key. This is… the opening of Fruits Basket!? This is the only anime Kidd got me to watch before I died. I really liked it. I really liked Kidd. I still do. He's my best friend. Please, make him okay. I looked over to Key and could tell that he was thinking the same thing as me. Then Kidd opened his eyes and his screaming stopped and he sat up, wiping the tears from his eyes and sang with us.
"Let's stay together itsumo!"
We three shared an amazing hug at that point. The kind Ms. Honda would be proud of. It was warm, and it was then we knew that we could defeat Fate, as long as we stay together. I'm never going to lose these guys again. I actually love them, no homo.
"Let's find the door," I smiled.
Kidd nodded and Key held onto us a little longer. After another moment we got up to find the final door.
"Guys, I think this is it. I can feel it pulsating," said Kidd approaching the door from Howl's Moving Castle. He turned the dial to black and opened the door. Only Key and I couldn't pass through!? Kidd stood by, trying to find some way for us to go, but it seemed only he could pass through. What do we do! We won't let him go alone! It's too dangerous! And we're all finally back together.
Fate's voice could be heard through the door, "Well done, using your powers of imagination to alter the space. But know this Kidd Lelliet, it is the job of humans to imagine but it is up to God to create and that is what I will do. Stand down now and I shall let you and your friends leave. Your powers are nothing against mine."
"Shut up Fate, we've been over this. I'm not going to let you destroy our worlds!"
"Create... I must create... I will create a new world!"
"Not while I'm here to face you!"
"Then come and face me. I will devour your heart and tear apart your soul."
Kidd was about to step through the door, "Kidd."
He turned to Key and me and smiled, "He won't have my heart because I'm leaving it with you. Turn the dial to blue when I'm in and you'll go to the world where Hari and Coin are. Go save them and go through the door, then turn it to green and you'll be on the other side of Heaven's Door and back in the Shinigami world. That portal only works one way so make sure everyone gets out."
"What about you?"
"If I fail I need you to lock the door, if all of you combine the powers I gave you, you should be able to close it for good. After that you'll have to find a way to destroy it."
"Kidd," screamed Key.
Kidd smiled, "I don't wanna admit it either but those are the facts. I might not win so I'll have to rely on you guys to-"
I slapped him, "You stupid selfish boy! You're not going to fail! And even if you do we're your friends! You think we won't figure some other way in to save you ass!? Save us that trouble and win damn it!"
Kidd started to cry and he held onto us, "Save Hari and Coin and get out of here. I'll meet you on the other side… I promise!"
Key pet Kidd's hair, "We'll be waiting for you."
Kidd walked through the door to face Fate on his own- wrong- he'll be taking our hearts with him. Kidd will never be alone again, and vice versa. We all have each other. With that we will never fail.
Meanwhile… back on the other side of the door… You know… the Shinigami world?
"I'm supposed to help Kidd but we can't get this door to open," yelled Light, watching as the others tried to kick it down.
And then Anguish remembered something, something that would have been helpful a few chapters ago, "Light, you were actually considered to be a potential masaya. But Kidd was more stable than you so he was chosen instead. What I'm saying is…"
"You think I can open it? There isn't a knob or anything?"
"Belive," Ryuk laughed imitating Kidd's goofy and stupid otaku nature.
Light sighed and walked up to the door, waiting. Was there like… an incantation or something? Is it like a public bathroom where you need to put tokens in? Suddenly he could see the door glowing, he looked behind to his group mates but no one else seemed to notice this!?
Light Yagami…
He turned back to the door where the voice was coming from, uhh yeah?
Do you want to save your friend?
Sure?
Because I can give you the power to do so but you have to promise not to act like your usual opportunist ass hole self.
WHAT!?
Swear Light Yagami.
Fine, I swear.
And then Light's hand was moving on it's own and touched the door. A gold ring with a red diamond shaped gem appeared on his pointer finger.
Kiss the ring and that shall be our bond. When you do so the door will open to you and you shall be able to fight along side Kidd Lelliet.
The voice stopped then and Light kissed the gem of the ring, it was totally poster worthy and the door swung open, hitting him in the face. He could feel the power surging within him, he could do it! He could defeat everyone! He could remake and rule the worlds! And then his heart betrayed him, shooting memories of his friendship through his skull. He groans as weird memories that they never even shared started flowing through his brain? Who even is that kid? Is that a girl with a boy's hair cut breaking an expensive vase? What's happening? He slapped himself to stop the weird images. He turned then to his comrades, no, ultimately he's going to have to call them friends. So he looked to his friends.
"Wait by the door, I don't know what will happen past this point. In the end we might need you to close it."
When Light turned to the door again his outfit changed. It was kind of like Kidd's, in the sense that it wasn't from any anime but was a completely original magical boy outfit. He grit his teeth, figuring he looked like a cosplaying idiot and walked through the door.
Guys… I've got this thing… like it's a real problem. Whenever a hot anime character pushes his hair back I spit up blood from over fangasming. Any recommendations on how to fix this? Also has anyone watched the anime Karneval? Holy crap it's a good show… you should like watch it or something… and then buy it. It's good enough to buy at it's over price. I mean I'm gonna wait a week because I found it on sale and it'll be a steal at the end of the month… not gonna tell you what website it is otherwise you'll get it before me. Lol, also, I went to anime expo. Anyone else go? I was so in love with it!
