ME NO OWN FAIRY TAIL
Chains of the Past, Chains that Know No Mercy
The forest was dark and the leafs on the trees rustled restlessly, whispering amongst themselves with secrecy. The trees themselves loomed high above, obscuring the cloudy day with the restless fanned out leaves leaving little to none sunlight to show through.
Silence filled the day, but the silence was soon to be hushed by a wailing of a small little girl who sat on the ground, her tiny fists trying their best to wipe away the hot tears that streamed down her face. Her hair was cut extremely short and stood a shocking color of red against the colors of the forest that surrounded her. Tiny scrapes from thorns covered her arms and legs, dried blood visible with ones that were deep enough. The only thing that covered her form was a long dirty and worn out green sweater that ends were frayed and holes poked through.
The small girl was too busy with her wailing to notice a small figure of a boy dressed in fine clothing appear, his hair a soft rosy pink color. He looked to be around the same age as the girl with wide charcoal eyes that blinked curiously at her. In his hand, a small wooden practice sword was held, his grip on the handle fidgeting as he quickly felt discomfort at the loud piercing wails the girl was making.
"Hey!" he shouted, eyebrows scrunched together as he tried to get the girl's attention, but it seemed to make her wails increase in pitch. Shuffling on his feet and chewing on his bottom lip, he grudgingly let the small practice sword go lax in his grip and fall to the ground with a small 'thump'. He moved forwards hesitantly, eyeing the girl who had a very good lung capacity. "Hey! You can stop crying now!" he shouted, not knowing what more to say to get her to stop her uncomfortable wails. Grunting as he saw his attempts were futile, he picked up his wooden sword with irritation bubbling in the pit of his stomach. Moving forward and before the girl had time to notice, he wacked her on the top of her head with enough force that I wouldn't hurt her, but enough to get her to stop crying.
Red ruby eyes blinked up at him, watery and wide as her lip wobbled but she tried her best to keep in her sobs so she wouldn't get another whack on the head from the strange boy with the wooden sword.
The boy stood in small triumph as he finally got the girl to stop crying and looked at her.
"Why were you crying so loud?" he suddenly asked her as he moved to stand before her and crouched on his hunches. Her ruby eyes blinked as she tried to hold in the tears, sniffling a little from her efforts.
"I… I don't know!" at this, her wails started again causing the boy to flinch in pain at the sound and sighed, whacking her again on the top of her head to get her to stop.
"What do you mean you don't know?" he asked incredulously when she quieted down. She rubbed furiously at her eyes, shaking her head.
"That's it!" she cried, trying her best not to start wailing again. "I don't remember anything!" her voice broke into a sob and the boy was left once more in discomfort as he watched her cry with tears and snot falling ungracefully from her face.
"But that's impossible! You have to know!" he said as he tried to ignore how she wiped her snot off on her sleeve, finding it a little disgusting. He sighed when she shook her head, finding this situation a little too stressful for him. "Alright, do you at least know your name?" he asked, but she shook her head once more causing him to let out a louder sigh and fall straight to his bum, hands behind him to support him as he threw back his head.
There was a long moment of silence as the girl quieted down from her sobs and looked at the boy in front of her with her ruby eyes, finding him a bit strange. Just as she was about to say something, the boy perked up suddenly, surprising her as he gave her a wide grin.
"I know!" he shouted, scaring her a little. "I'll call you Nelly!" he shouted in joy, giving her a toothy smile that made her a little nervous.
"Nelly?" she asked, testing the strange name on her tongue. The boy nodded happily, thinking it was the best name in the world at the moment.
"Yup! You look like a Nelly!" he told her simply. The girl couldn't help but smile at this and look up at the boy in front of her, suddenly liking him.
"Okay!" she chirped, only to suddenly frown and tilt her head to the side. The boy did the same, parroting her movements curiously.
"Hmm, what is it Nelly?" he asked her as the girl chewed on the inside of her cheek.
"What's your name?" she asked softly, suddenly shy. The boy grinned at this and held out a hand for her to shake.
"I'm Prince Natsumi Dragneel!" He suddenly pouted, confusing Nelly as he crossed his arms over his chest, not giving her time to shake his hand in return as he took it away too fast.
"What's wrong Prince?" she asked curiously.
"Aw! Don't call me Prince!" he suddenly whined, surprising her.
"Uh, okay… what's wrong… Natsumi?" she asked again.
"Just that!" he shouted, pointing at her and further confusing her. "My name is just too girly! It's a girl's name and I hate it! It's all because my mother was expecting a little girl instead of a son but still decided to call me…" he shuddered at the thought of his name. "Natsumi." A look of disgust came across his face making Nelly giggle. "Anyway," he sighed. "you can just call me Natsu." he told her with a small nod as he stood up and took his wooden sword again. Nelly started to panic, not wanting him to leave her alone.
"W-wait!" she cried, hand outstretched as Natsu looked at her weirdly. "Where are you going?" she asked him timidly. Natsu shrugged as he swung the sword to rest on his shoulder.
"Back home. To be honest I'm not even allowed out of the castle, much less the castle's walls, so I kinda snuck out." he told her as she started to stand up.
"U-um…" she started to blink at him. "May I come with you?" she asked, twiddling her thumbs together. "I-it's just that I don't have a home and-and… I-I can be your personal servant as pay back if you let me live with you!" she shouted the last part out loudly, causing Natsu to take a step back in surprise as he blushed a little.
"W-why would you wanna be m-my personal servant?!" he stuttered out as Nelly took a step closer in determination.
"Cause you gave me a name and if you let me live with you I have to pay you back some kind of way Milord!" she said, surprising him even more as he turned redder by the title.
"I-idiot! Don't call me that!" Natsu shouted, as he took off running in the direction.
"M-Milord! Wait up!" Nelly shouted as she just started to chase after him, Natsu shouting out his frustration over the title.
Pandora stood over her fallen king who laid before her trapped by her chains. She couldn't help but feel happy as she stared at the fallen king she had once admired, and that had once named her and taken her in.
"Now," she said in a low voice, almost a purr as she approached her fallen king who stared up at her in defiance, not making a move to escape from her wonderful chains. "Let's see how far you have really fallen, Milord." she spat out the title venomously as she watched with glee as her chains pulled him upwards, tightening around their victim like a snake before sending him crashing to the ground, repeating the process a few times as her laughter rang throughout the room, loving and hating how the fallen king did nothing to stop the torture she was inflicting on him. Blood dribbled down his forehead and nose and she was positive he had dislocated his right shoulder, but still he stared at her with those eyes she hated and loved, a fire she knew oh-so-well burning within in him making her swoon with happiness, but boil with rage.
"I wish to see the fire that burns within you, the same fire that had caused you abandon our people! Show this all to me, Milord!"
