Ohiya! Again, sorry. I am pleased with the outcome of this chapter, wished it was a little longer, but I made it as long as I could. There are now only one or two chapters left to this story before it ends which is saddening but also a relief since I haven't abandoned it at all! I love finishing stories, makes me feel good. Thank you to all those who reviewed, favorite, and followed! Please leave a review and favorite! Farewell and Enjoy!

ME NO OWN FAIRY TAIL
Can't Cut Me Down
"I was afraid you were going to say that." he admitted as a pair of white ghostly looking scissors appeared in his hand. "Guess you and your soulmate are going to have to say goodbye to love."
Mira didn't notice when he suddenly appeared right in front of her until a snipping sound was heard and it seemed like her whole world shattered before her.
Natsu and Mira froze on spot, both of their eyes widening and their attacks ceasing. Mira went back to her normal form and fell to her knees, eyes suddenly looking dark and vacant. Natsu's fire flickered out and his teeth were once again normal as his eyes turned charcoal with the whites returning. His eyes darkened and looked vacant with a certain sorrow as he slumped over onto Pandora, seemingly not able to hold himself up anymore as he slid slowly to the ground.
"It's funny," Luke said as he looked over the two who had suddenly lost all their will to fight. "Even without knowing who your soulmate is, the world seems blacker once they're gone and the thread has snapped." He shook his head. "I'll never know how some can live without a soulmate in the first place." he mumbled. Pandora looked over to him with cold red eyes, her lips drawn in a frown.
"You don't have a soulmate." she commented, Luke giving an amused shrug and smiling.
"I didn't want one so I cut my own thread and somehow here I still am standing! The only reason why you don't have one Pandora is because yours isn't even born yet. Won't be for a long time. Didn't know you liked them that young, Dory." he laughed. Pandora sneered in his direction, eyes suddenly lit with hostility.
"Shut it, Luke!" she snapped. Luke gave another shrug before he walked over to Mira who didn't seem to notice him and nudged her with his foot gently on the chest, Mira immediately falling over backwards with a thump.
"Both of them, reduced into vegetables." he sang as he put his foot down on Mira's ankle and put pressure on it until it broke, but didn't let up. Mira didn't react or seem to notice that he had broken her ankle. She just laid there staring up at the ceiling. "It's pathetic." He spat on her, face contorted in disgust. "Needing to rely on something as stupid as that. Downright pathetic. That's why I cut my thread years ago. I never regret cutting that stupid thread. Never." Pandora regained her neutral look as she raised a delicate eyebrow at him.
"You cried for three months and wouldn't eat without being forced to." she pointed out calmly. Luke whipped his head towards her, eyes wide and feral as he bared his teeth with tears unknowingly filling the corners of his eyes.
"Shut up!" he growled sharply, picking up his foot and stomping down on Mira's ankle again and again as it moved around grotesquely and the skin started to give. "I don't need a soulmate! I've never needed a soulmate! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Spittle flew from his mouth in a rage as he continued to stomp on Mira's ankle until the bone started to show, only to pause and put down his foot on the wood floor and closed his eyes, drawing in sharp breaths slowly in an attempt to calm himself. "I don't need a soulmate." he whispered without opening his eyes.
"Of course you don't." Pandora agreed. "That's a weakness that no one wants to have." she added. Luke nodded at her words as he slowly came back to himself, but did not raise his head to look at her. "That's why once my soulmate is born, I want you to cut the thread. I do not want to be able to love another in a way that someone else can use to their advantage." There was a silence as Luke gave another short nod.
"Of course." he said. Pandora didn't move her gaze from the kid for a few moments before she looked down towards Natsu, bending down and picking him up by the throat. She raised to her full height and began to squeeze at his neck, her thumb right above the jugular feeling the slightly faltering heartbeat the longer she held him and squeezed.
"I wonder how long it will take to kill him." she mused as she let him drop, his mouth opening as his brain forced him to take in deep breaths to restore the oxygen it was denied. "I could snap his neck and end it all or I could rip every limb from his body one by one and watch him bleed out, giving him the death he deserves for abandoning the kingdom." She bent down to rest on her haunches as she imitated a slashing motion on his neck, imagining the blood running down onto the floor and mixing in with the rosy pink hair and dying it a deep scarlet as the light slowly left his eyes and life no longer breathed in him. She inhaled, eyes closed as she imagined the smell of blood and the sticky feel of it on her fingers, relishing in her fantasy a moment too long before she opened her eyes and gave a faint smile.
"L-Lay a finger on him and I'll make your last moments a living hell." Pandora and Luke snapped their attention over to Mira who was struggling to sit up through the throbbing pain her ankle was coursing through her body. Pandora stood up with wide eyes, mouth slightly agape as she barely looked at Luke, both not attempting to conceal their surprise.
"I thought cutting her off from her soulmate would ensure our victory, Luke." Pandora said, Luke slowly nodding.
"So did I…" he muttered. Mira gave a tiny laugh, smirking as she struggled to stand, using one of the infirmary beds to help her stand.
"Just because you cut some silly thread won't make me into a vegetable my whole life." she said. "I don't need a thread telling me who my soulmate is, I can determine who I love on my own terms."
"Master Yugsn, are you to do nothing about the battle going on down stairs?" Aslin asked through a hiss of her scaly lips as she slithered across Yugsn's shoulders and out onto his arm which was resting on the large velvet red of his plush armchair. Yugsn swirled the red wine around in his glass, watching as the liquid threatened to spill over the edge only to go back in and start another attempt.
"Aslin, you know I shan't waste my time with mere rodents. Insects, if you may." he told her calmly, a small threat underlying his tone. "I have better ways to occupy my time with."
"And will that be getting drunk off of wine?" Aslin asked, ignoring the unspoken threat since she really did not care. "I can find better ways for you to occupy your time, I assure you." she mocked. Yugsn barely glanced at the serpent from the corner of his eyes as he brought the wine glass to his lips and simply drank until there was nothing left but a few drops unable to leave the glass.
"I would much prefer it if you stopped your blabbing," Yugsn said as he turned his chair around, grabbing the not yet empty wine bottle off the table to pour him yet another glass. Aslin watched with her purple silted eyes as her master poured the wine until the liquid was about ready to spill over the edges. "But, if my insolent dogs even start to lose, you can count on me being out of my chair and slitting their throats." he said almost merrily as he took a careful drink of wine without spilling a single drop. Aslin's scaly lips curled into a smile as her tongue flickered out of her mouth with a soft hiss, bringing her head up to gently rub against the smooth human skin of her beloved master.
"Dully noted," she said softly as her master leaned back in his chair with a smile that matched hers in an odd way.
"Hopefully the ruckus won't last too long, I don't want it spoiling my appetite for dinner." Yugsn commented.
"Don't worry, Master. Hopefully your dogs aren't totally worthless."
"It wouldn't surprise me if they were."
