Will I See You Again?

Yeah, Probably Not.

Between Your Band and the Other Band~Tigers Jaw

It had been one of those days. Mikan had skipped her morning dance, which inevitably put her in a foul mood. She had a lesson with Reo that ended with her walking out halfway through because he began talking about her performing. And to top it all off her phone would not stop ringing. It had literally rang at least 10 times since she turned it on at midday. It was almost 3 now and she had to get to work so she could come home and change.

Aoi sat on the window seat in Mikan's room reading one of Mikan's many magazines. "Are you going to answer your phone, nee-chan?"

Mikan let out a deep sigh as she came into her room dropping her dance bag by the door, "Honestly, I don't want to. I'll probably blow up on him or something."

"It's weird though, he would usually not try this hard."

"Boys do the oddest things when they want something. And if you ask me he's trying too hard," Mikan winked as she entered her adjoined bathroom.

When Mikan came out again the younger teen was running her finger along the spines of the books on a shelve. "You've got so many books, Mi-chan. Have you read them all?"

"Nope! I will get to all of them though, one day."

Mikan glanced at herself in the mirror and tightened her ponytail placing her cap over it. "Okay well I gotta go kiddo, I'll see you later," she ruffled Aoi's hair before stepping out of her room.

Her phone vibrated in her hand and she sighed. Unlocking it, she didn't even bother to read the messages and just began typing 'If I'm up for it, maybe tomorrow we can catch a movie.' She shut off her phone once again and pocketed it as she hollered a goodbye to her mum and stepped out.

Across the street, Ruka watched her get into her car and back out of her driveway. He turned and sighed at the sight of his best friend lying on his bunk, head hanging off the edge of the bed and phone in hand. "I don't think harassing her all day is going to give you a better chance into her pants."

Natsume glared at Ruka, "Well it got me a date with her tomorrow night...so I'd say it's working."

Ruka shrugged, "This strategy is different from your usual bang and bye thing."

"Well you said she's different from the rest. She's not a ditchable prom date. You made that clear. I just don't want to fuck this up before I get to do what I want."

Ruka still felt that pinch of jealousy at the pit of his stomach but as his friend spoke a thought ran through his head. The thought of Natsume Hyuuga, his best friend and biggest play boy of the century, falling in love.

Natsume wasn't the type to know what falling in love was. He knew what love was because he'd always been surrounded by it but Ruka had never heard about him falling in love. Being completely infatuated with someone besides himself was something he'd never seen Natsume do. But the way he was behaving with Mikan made Ruka think it was possible. What if Natsume were to fall in love with Mikan? It was a far fetched thought but maybe it wasn't that insane to make him fall in love so he wouldn't break her heart. And maybe if he distracted himself with this he could forget the small lingering feelings that he thought had disappeared.

At the end of her shift Mikan said a quick goodbye to her co-workers before going out the back door. She shook her hair out of her pony tail and headed towards her car. The anticipation for tonight quickly growing from the bottom of her stomach. She glanced at her wrist watch that read ten thirty as she put her car in drive. She was nearly jumping in her seat from the excitement that flowed through her. Ignoring the speed limit she rushed home and pulled into the drive way next to the Hyuuga's car. She hopped off and skipped inside turning her phone back on as she made her way up the stairs. Her smile grew wider when the only message she'd received was from Shouma, a boy from the next town over who was picking her up tonight. She sent a quick reply before opening the door to her room and startling the young girl who had been engrossed in a book.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you," Mikan quickly untied her sneakers and removed them along with her socks.

"It's okay! I was just reading and you surprised me is all." Aoi sputtered out, "You're home early though."

"Yeah, I'm going out! So I took a shorter shift," She went to the bathroom and turned on the water, "I'll probably be sleeping over at Hotaru's so you've got the room to yourself."

"Cool, but where are you going?"

"It's just a party ya know, teenager stuff."

"Nii-san is always at parties too, but I feel all he does is hang out with girls."

"You're probably right but lets give him the benefit of the doubt," Mikan shut the bathroom door and stepped into the shower letting the warm water engulf her body.

She scrubbed off the smell of burnt bread from her head and body and began shaving her legs and under arms. It was a pain but she dealt with it. She was fresh and back to her natural smell of flowers in forty-five minutes. Her legs were baby smooth and that only meant trouble. She wrapped a towel tightly around herself and opened the bathroom door letting out some steam.

Aoi was no longer in the room as Mikan made her way over to her drawers. She opened the first one and searched for a pair of panties. Under her polka-dots and pandas were her lace. She grabbed a pair of black lace under wear and slipped them on. she grabbed the matching bra from the drawer below that one and headed for her closet.

Aoi walked back in as Mikan was blow drying her hair. She climbed onto the bed and sat crossed legged facing the mirror, "Nee-chan, are the parties you go to fun?"

Mikan smiled and her eyes light up, "Yeah they are. There's a lot of dancing and the people are so funny, sometimes they come up with the weirdest things!"

Mikan fixed her hair into a high pony tail and tied a white bow around it. Aoi watched as the older girl tied the laces of her white converse and stood in front of the full length mirror. "How do I look, Aoi-chan?"

"Nee-chan, you look hot! Like whoa! And you're not even wearing make-up!"

"Thank you! And I save the make-up for the special occasions. My logic is that if bump into Prince Charming he gets to see the face he'll have to wake up to every morning."

"That's so smart! He gets to fall in love with the real you, that's so romantic," Aoi sighed and hugged one of Mikan's pillows.

Mikan adjusted the plaid skirt around her waist and grabbed her black leather jacket from her closet. She threw on the jacket over her plain white crop top and examined herself in the mirror once again. The leather was cool on her exposed mid-section giving her small goosebumps. She grabbed her phone from her pocket and did what any teenage girl that new how good she looked would; she took selfies. When she was satisfied she nodded at her reflection and turned back to Aoi who stared at her with an open mouth.

"I didn't know you did that."

"Take pictures of myself? Who doesn't?" Mikan smiled, "It helps with my self-esteem," Mikan looked at the time, "Whoops! I've got to get going. I'll be back tomorrow and we'll go watch that new movie," Mikan went out and hollered a goodbye to her mom who was in the kitchen with the Hyuuga's.

Outside the house a slick black car was waiting for someone. When Mikan came out the figure in the car flicked a cigarette to the street and got down. He opened the passenger door, "Looking fine as always," he said smirking making his way back around to the drivers side.

"My mission in life," Mikan looked at the guy beside her with a look that spelled trouble.

Across the street Natsume and Ruka both peered out the window. The unidentified guy put an arm around Mikan shoulder as they sped off into the night.

"I thought you said she wasn't in a relationship, Ruka," Natsume backed away from the window and fell on to one of the beanbags on the floor.

"Not that I know of. She has never mentioned any boys. He's probably not even her boyfriend. Hotaru would have mentioned something like that."

Natsume sighed, "Well she's definitely not a virgin. She been with like five guys."

"Wait she told you that?"

"Yeah, the other night when I was with her we I asked her with how many guys she'd been with and she said five," Natsume confessed with a shrug.

"That's all new information to me. I didn't think she was that type of girl. I always thought she was the prince charming type."

"Well I mean five guys isn't that much. We've both done much worse and don't you deny it."

"True, but now you know she's got expectations."

"So what? I'll exceed them and she'll have to fall for me."

Ruka raised a brow, "Has she met your standards and expectation?"

"She's exceeded them. I thought she'd be shy and awkward but she's so...not what I thought."

Ruka chuckled, "You never know maybe that's just a font. I've known her forever but I actually don't know much about her."

Natsume let out a sigh, "She seems complicated."

"Of course it's complicated otherwise you wouldn't be interested."

The place where Mikan was on her way to was far more than a small party. It was a place full of kids your parents warned you not to be like. But Mikan knew how to handle herself. She was in love with places like this. The adrenaline was similar to the feeling she used to get when she was dancing. The whole thing had escalated quickly.

First she discovered alcohol. She found one of the liquor bottles they saved for parties and took it to her room. It was back when her mom still took pills to sleep and wouldn't wake up till midday the next day. She was twelve when she first tasted it and fourteen when she could drink a whole bottle with out throwing up her insides.

At fifteen was when the parties and boys came in. She'd started sneaking out on weekends and then on school nights and it only got worse until Hotaru found out. To put it simply she knocked some sense into her.

She had stopped being reckless and joined Misaki's band but she hadn't stopped being with boys or going to parties; she had only slowed down. So every now and then she'd met someone from some other town and they'd take her to a party and she'd have the time of her life until she got bored and wanted more.

That's how she ended up in the back seat of Shouma's car after the party. He was drunk and the smell of weed came off his skin. He kissed her from her neck to her navel but she never let his lips touch hers. His hand was up her skirt his fingers playing with the hem of her panties. He whispered sweet nothing in her ear believing it would make her want him more. But Mikan wasn't the type of girl who fucked whoever told her she was gorgeous, she was the type who knew she was and used it to get what she wanted. And if what she wanted was to be with a guy for a few hours; that's exactly what she'd do.

Back at Ruka's place unknown to the other both boys lied awake with the same thoughts running through their heads. Where was Mikan? Was she lying in the same bed as the guy she left with? Was she in trouble?

Natsume tossed and turned until he saw light shinning through the window. He hoped of the top bunk and headed towards the window half expecting to see her dancing out on her front lawn. What he saw though was surprising, Mikan was sitting out on her sidewalk with a cup of coffee beside her. She was still in yesterday's clothes but he'd never seen someone look so real before.

He pulled a shirt over his head and slowly crept out of Ruka's room. He padded down the stairs and pulled open the front door. Mikan was looking up at the sky her jacket draped over her shoulders. Natsume closed the distance between them and sat beside her on the sidewalk. She leaned on him trying to absorb his heat into her chilled bones. "You smell of beer and weed," Natsume mumbled.

Mikan laughed softly, "Thank god showers exist then."

"Where did you go to last night?"

"I was at a party."

Natsume's jaw clenched, "You don't seem like the party type."

Mikan smiled, "And you don't seem like the type who'd waste a whole week on some reckless girl yet here we both are."

"You aren't just some reckless girl, you know what you're doing."

Mikan looked up at him, she lifted her hand to his face and made him look down at her. Her eyes were tired with small flecks of mascara around them but the way her olive eyes stared into his crimson ones made everything else disappear.

And I am back with another late update! But here it is! I was so unsatisfied with the way it was coming along until the end. Tell me what you think and if you want first person pov's! Review pls i read them when I have no motivation to write and they put me in a better mood!
