She sneaks out in the middle of the night, yeah

Tight dress with the top cut low

She's addicted to the feeling of letting go, woah-oh, letting go

She walks in and the room just lights up

But she don't want anyone to know

That i'm the only one that gets to

Take her home, oh oh, take her home

But every time I tell her that I want more

She closes the door.

She's not afraid of all the attention

she's not afraid of running wild

She's Not Afraid-One Direction

Summer was at its peak. Parties, concerts, and festivals, all the things on nearly every teenagers bucket list were happening right now. Curfews, homework, and stress were all forgotten. There was new accident on the news everyday but that didn't do much to stop the action.

Hotaru had been on vacation for a week and was on her way back for a concert. Mikan was waiting for her best friend at the airport when someone came up behind her and covered her face, "Guess who!"

Mikan recognized the voice instantaneously, "Misaki," she shouted excitedly and turned around as soon as Misaki's hands were off her face.

Mikan hugged the pink headed older teen and squealed with excitement. "Ohmygod! I didn't think you'd make it back in time! I've missed you so much," she was on the verge of tears as the words gushed out of her mouth.

"Hey, squirt don't cry. I wouldn't miss it for the world. And I'm here for the whole summer. I'm staying at a friends house since my parents don't know I'm here," she stuck out her tongue in her usual manner and it made Mikan laugh.

That was Misaki for you; always doing things behind her parents back. She was an expert at sneaking around. She was the older sister Mikan never had. She taught Mikan every musical thing she knew.

A few moments later Hotaru came up to both of them, her usually blank face had broken into a smile at the sight of Misaki. "'Sup Hotaru? Just got back from vacay?"

Hotaru passed her heavy bags to Mikan, "Yup. Are you staying for a while?"

"I got all summer baby! I hate the gloomy year round weather over there I'm so ready for some real sun!"

"Can we catch up in the car these things are heavy," Mikan complained under the weight of Hotaru's bags.

Misaki's head spun towards Mikan, "You said you wouldn't drive unless you got the jeep. Did you get the jeep?!"

Mikan nodded excitedly and they hurried to Mikan's car.

"Oh it's so beautiful! Can I drive?"

Mikan hesitated for a moment remembering the last time she rode in a car with Misaki driving she nearly threw up. She let out a resigned sigh she couldn't say no to Misaki and her puppy eyes. She passed the keys to Misaki and hopped in to the back seat with Hotaru's bags. She fastened her seat belt as best as she could and tried to relax.

"So girls, how's it going. Any boy action?"

Hotaru scoffed, "You know Mikan always has some boy action going on. Actually there been an interesting new admirer."

Misaki looked at Mikan through the rear view mirror her eyebrows raised questioningly, "It's not that big of a deal you know what he's like if I give him even a little attention he'll drop me like a rock in a week tops."

Hotaru spun around to look at her incredulous best friend,"Not a big deal?! Natsume Hyuuga wants in your pants!"

As soon as Hotaru ended her sentence she went forward as Misaki abruptly stopped the car, "Wait wait wait rewind. WHAT?! Natsume is hitting you up?!"

Mikan rubbed her forehead after being slammed into the back of the drivers seat, "Occasionally yeah but you know I don't do relationship especially not with guy i have to see more than one night."

Misaki began driving again after receiving several threats from Hotaru, "I get it and since you've heard all the Natsume rumours you scared he'll hurt you if you give him a chance. It's alright Mikan tonight we don't have time to think about boys anyway.

At Mikan's house Hotaru silently stressed about that night. She double checked her bag and Mikan's bag. Mikan hurried both Misaki and Hotaru into her car. "Come on, Hotaru! Yuu is already there we don't want to be stuck in the crowd.

Hataru finally took a deep breath and got into the drove for ten minutes until the street with abandoned warehouses came into view. As they parked Hotaru's phone began to ring she answered and put the caller on speaker, "Hey, Hotaru how's it going?"

Hotaru sighed, "What is it bunny boy I'm busy." She hadn't even tried to mask her irritated tone.

"Uh I was wondering if you'd like to come to a concert with me?"

Mikan heard Ruka's stuttering and tried to contain her laugh. Hotaru sighed once more but tired to sound nicer this time, "Sorry I can't tonight maybe next time. I have to go now bye!"

"Wait now I'm out of the loop, who was that," asked Misaki, her questioning eye moving from Mikan to Hotaru.

"It was Ruka," Mikan began to explain.

"Life long dancer crush Ruka?"

Hotaru interrupted by clearing her throat, "Let's go!" She hopped out of the car and opened the trunk to get her bags.

They met up with the rest of the gang inside and set up. They caught a glimpse of the building audience before they split up to go to their respective places promising to meet afterwards.

Natsume, Ruka, and Mochu stepped into Koko's place, where they had agreed to meet after the concert, they found Koko and Kitsume hurriedly trying to hide everything expensive. Kitsume noticed them and began pushing them in, "What are you guys waiting for put everything that looks breakable and expensive away and help me move the couches up stairs we need space for dancing!"

Koko took a small break to explain, "Kit got his I.D. today and bought all the alcohol his pickup could hold."

Mochu hooted and high-fived Kitsume. Within thirty minutes the living room, dining room, and kitchen had been cleared of anything breakable. Most of the rooms had been closed of and the speakers were set up in the living room. The wide dinner table had been draped with a cheap table cloth and was now covered with chips, pizza boxes, and paper plates. Tubs filled up to the brim with ice and booze had been strategically placed around the rooms they were going to be using. Koko had a mischievous grin plastered on his face, "Alright boys hit every single person on your contact list girls free until midnight and guys three dollars."

It wasn't long before people started pouring through the front door. The music began blaring through the speakers and people quickly began to lose their sobriety.

After the concert was over and the audience was long gone the gang met up in the lounge room backstage, "Argh! This stupid wig messed up my hair! Why do we have to do this whole disguise thing," Sumire whined while pulling her mask off.

Nonoko rolled her eye as she let down her dark blue waves from the bun that confined them, "You know how Mikan feels about people knowing that she preforms. Even if she was the only one to wear a costume they'd figure out who she was as soon as they saw us, we do this because we're good friends."

Before Sumire had a chance to protest their phones rang in unison. Ana opened the text and began to read it out loud "Party at 368 Niche Dr."

The girls looked at each other then at Yuu A.K.A. the person who managed their gigs. He scratched the back of his neck and checked his calendar, "Well you guys don't preform again until Wednesday night so I guess you're free to go."

"Did you guys get a message too," Mikan asked as she walked into the room.

Sumire perked up and jumped onto from the couch she had plopped down on, "Yes and Master Yuu has given us permission to go, Serpentina is freeeee!"

"You're gonna break the couch, idiot," Hotaru said slightly irritated after the cushion she had aimed at Sumire missed, "Where's Misaki?"

"Tsubasa just picked her up," Mikan sighed, "That guy really needs to tell her how he feels already."

Before heading off to the party, Mikan had gone over a few rules with her friends. They had gone out to eat because she knew how terrible it was to drink on an empty stomach and how gross it was to eat food a million people had touched. As they sat in a booth at Johnny Rockets she brought out her stern face for a moment and in her most serious tone she began:

1. Do not accept drinks from strangers!

2. Always keep your eye on your drink and cover it with your hand at all times.

3. Drink water after every drink you have.

4. Tell one of us if you're leaving

5. Have fun!

Ruka and Natsume were lounging around a corner of the room that put the front door right in their line of view when Koko came up to them, a red plastic cup in one of his hands and a shit eating grin on his face, "You guys need to stop waiting for those girls there's more than enough here. What if they don't come? Are you guys seriously going to mope around and ruin the party?"

Natsume only had time to glare at Koko before Ruka elbowed him and pointed toward the door. The entire atmosphere around the ruby eyed heartthrob changed, he watched as Mikan and Hotaru entered followed by Sumire and Nonoko. His eyes followed the brunette as she greet a few people before she headed toward the kitchen without a glance toward him.

Beside Natsume, Ruka, also observed Mikan's graceful movements around the crowd while her friend followed closely behind her and although, he had convinced himself he had been waiting for Hotaru, he couldn't help noticing his childhood crush. He watched the way her high pony tail swung from side to side with each step she took and the animated look on her face that resembled the one she always wore while dancing.

As soon as they had arrived, Mikan guided her friends to the kitchen. She grabbed four cups from one of the towers of cups and scooped some ice into each of them. She made an individual drink for each of her friends and handed them out. They spread out after a final warning from the brunette who was having trouble keeping still.

Natsume followed Mikan with his eyes cursing the whisper at the back of his mind that begged her to notice him. Her eyes finally landed on him. She had this spark in her eye that was a mix of excitement and danger, he felt the beat of his heart quicken, a feeling he wasn't familiar with began to engulf him. He didn't know how long he'd been in a daze but when he was back she wasn't alone anymore. He noted the way she leaned away from bloke who was talking to her and the polite but forced smile she wore.

"...she's pretty but you don't have a chance," Natsume's thoughts were interrupted by a small voice coming from beside him.

A short redhead was standing next to Natsume. He hadn't notice when she had gotten there or what she had said, "What?"

The girl looked up at him, "That girl you've been staring at, you don't have a chance with her at least not with those ulterior motives."

Natsume couldn't believe what this girl what saying, but before he could say anything she was gone. His sour mood had made a reappearance. He pushed himself off the wall he'd been leaning on and made his way to a near by tub to grab another drink.

Mikan smirked as she saw Natsume. She quickly excused herself and made her way towards someone who actually sparked her interest. "I bet within the next fifteen minutes someone's going to puke."

Natsume turned, his spirits had lifted and there was a sly smile on his face, "You're on. I say no one will puke for at least another hour."

Mikan laughed, "Ha! You're underestimating the fine youth of today. In an hour at least three people will be passed out. I've got years of experience and these parties are always the same."

"But you don't get tired of them?"

"Never. If you find the right people something exciting always happens."

"Are the right people here?"

"I've only been here five minutes but I do see some potential." Mikan turned away from Natsume and downed her drink. She left the cup on the nearest surface and proceeded to make her way to the living room, which was now serving as a dance floor.

Natsume ran his eyes along her body. He watched the way her body swayed to the beat, her eyes closed as if letting the music run through her. Mikan's eyes opened and landed on him the smoldering look she gave him made goosebumps rise on his skin. He raked his fingers through his hair, "Fuck," he whispered in such a low tone he hardly heard it himself. He made his way over to her catching a glimpse of what looked like a victory smile on her face.

Mikan placed Natsume's hands on her hips helping him relaxing into the rhythm she had. She wrapped an arm around his neck and buried her fingers in his hair pressing her back side closer to him. He was so unbelievably attracted to her in that moment. Before he could ask her to go somewhere else she broke the silence with a small laugh, "I told you. I'll collect later," she pulled away from him and headed toward the small circle that had gathered near the entrance. She was out of his grasp before he could pull her back. It took a while before he could even form a coherent thought about what had just happened.

Ruka had been watching he scene from he other side of the room where he tried to talk to Hotaru. She was highly aware of what was on his mind, "Why are you here if you still like her?"

Ruka was surprised by Hotaru's words, "Because I'm not even sure that I still like her. I don't know what I'm feeling."

Hotaru's face had a hint of disgust, "I don't like indecisive guys," she walked away leaving Ruka beyond confused.

Mikan had made her way through the group of people who had gathered needing to make sure who over had just spilled their insides wasn't one of her girls. Once she had gotten to the center of it and confirmed it wasn't one of her friends she elbowed her way out of the circle only to bump into and extremely drunk Kitsume. "Heeeey Mikan, where's that pink haired friend of yours?"

Mikan rolled her eyes and took a step away, "Anna is with Yuu," that's all she said before walking away toward a tub of drinks. As she walked something caught her eye, well more like someone. Shouma, the boy she'd last gone out with was talking to Natsume. She was dying to know what they were talking about, but she also didn't want Shouma to see her since she'd been avoiding his calls and texts.

"I feel you man, that girl has a way of pulling you in like she's going to kiss you and you just fall for it. She gets what she wants and then she's gone," Shouma had come up to Natsume after seeing him with Mikan.

Natsume didn't appreciate the invasion of his personal space, "Who're you?"

Shouma ignored the question, "I met her at a party about a month ago she look pretty average until she started dancing. Damn, they way she moved it was just too much. I couldn't get her out of my mind so the next time I saw her I asked for her number and she gave it to me so I took her out a week ago, it was fucking great man, but she was gone in a blink of an eye. If you get a chance man, don't let her go she makes you feel things you didn't know you could feel," he left after his speech.

Natsume scoffed at how pathetic that guy had sounded. He scanned the place for he girl that had been roaming his mind since he beginning of summer. He found her on the opposite side of the room, she was dancing with a different boy now and she walked away from the boy just as abruptly as she had left him. Was he really way in over his head?

"You bored yet," Hotaru asked as she bumped into Mikan.

"Not quite. I haven't beat some one at beer pong and...HOMYGOD," Mikan stopped mid sentence and squealed excitedly.

"What? What's wrong with you?"

Mikan didn't give Hotaru a chance to protest before she dragged her to the dance floor where they met with an equally excited Sumire and Nonoko. The girls shared a look and began wildly dancing to their favorite song.

It took a while, but Hotaru gave in and joined in. She was jumping up and down and shouting the lyrics at the top of her lungs along with her best friends. She'd never really been a fan of people watching her do silly things like this, but at that moment she didn't care how ridiculous she looked or how many people stared because she was having fun. Ruka and Natsume watched the scene unfold and couldn't pull their eyes away from the expression of pure happiness embedded on Mikan's face.

The whole thing was a spectacle, some people had stopped what they were doing to watch this group of girls have the time of their lives. Ruka had trouble holding back a smile that was gone as soon as he made eye contact with Hotaru. She knew things he wasn't even sure of. Did that mean he actually did like Mikan? Had the feelings come and gone? Or had hey just not left at all? Whatever the case was he had to keep this from Natsume.

"Your girls really know what they're doing out on the dance floor," Koko said as he came up to them on unsteady feet, "That Sumire is actually pretty cute this summer is definitely going to be interesting.

"I second that," Natsume muttered as he watched his friend stumble across the room.

After dancing till their feet ached and three rounds of beer bong the girls were finally ready to go home. Mikan bumped into Natsume on her way out, "Leaving already," he asked blocking her exit.

"Why, are you going to stop me?"

"I might be able to persuade you," Natsume placed his hands on her hips pulling her toward him.

Mikan laughed and placed her hands between their bodies, "Sorry kid, maybe some other time I have to get going," she removed his hands and gave him a quick peck before walking away.

Natsume watched her go and noted how good she looked in what she was wearing. He had to step up his game because in all honesty she was just slipping through his fingers. For once he was actually willing to get to know the girl he was after and who know maybe it´ll be fun.
