Sup everybody! I have another update! YAY! But first… answering some reviews!
Lilacian: Thanks girly! Really excited to publish the chapter of school! ;)
Deviant97: I used your suggestion about the Jace POV… hope you like it! Clary was a pretty weird brunette, don't you think? :)
Rachel Lynn: Thanks for reading! Hope you and your friends like it! I don't believe I made an intentional John Bytheway reference… what part were you thinking about? :)
Guest: Thank you for clarifying it for me. I honestly am not a big fan of wearing makeup so I wrote a combination that I thought was fitting with her personality. It isn't minimal makeup, but compared to the girls who wear pounds of it, I thought this was somewhat minimal. :P Thanks for the lesson though! :)
THAT'S IT FOR NOW! I love answering your reviews so yeah. :) I just checked my stats and I started yelling (which I do quite often).
I HAVE 125 FOLLOWERS, 57 FAVORITES, AND 59 REVIEWS. THIS IS GROUNDBREAKING GUYS. I didn't expect people to ACTUALLY like my story. This makes me so happy! Thank you guys! Y'all are the best.
Which is why you guys get another chapter! Enjoy…
CLARY POV
We arrive at Taki's and quickly take the closest parking spot. I glance back at Jace and see him cautiously staring out the window.
"You sure about coming here Jace? We can go somewhere else so people don't see you here if you want." I ask, thinking about his reputation. I've been trying so hard since he's gotten here to act calm and collected but I'm about ready to burst from excitement. He smiles at me.
"I'm fine Clare-bear. If people will see me, they can see that I'm serious about hanging low for a while." He honestly answers. Simon scoffs.
"Right, because hanging low means having 2 concerts later this month?" He rolls his eyes but I elbow him in the stomach, causing him to flinch. I turn back to Jace and see him staring daggers into Simon's head.
"They are benefit concerts, by the way. Only a few hundred, max, who are donating a lot of money for my children's hospital. It's the least I could do." He explains, with burning passion. Simon glances over at me with a questioning look but I dismiss it when I turn back to Jace.
"That's sweet Jace. It's nice that you're giving back to the community." I sweetly smile and he smiles back in gratitude. I hop out of the passenger's seat and slide open the back door. Jace hops out first and does a little curtsy, which I happily return. He smirks before walking towards the side walk. Izzy comes out next and she just smirks. I roll my eyes and shut the back door, waiting for Simon to follow us. Simon and I hang back as Izzy and Jace have a very animated conversation up ahead.
"You know Simon, he's not that douchey like everyone thinks." I nudge him, urging him to believe me.
"I never said he was a douche. I just think that he isn't someone good to be around. That's all I'm saying." He shrugs. I look at him, shocked.
"You don't even know him!" I reason, exasperated. He raises an eyebrow.
"And you do?" He asks. Touché… I roll my eyes.
"Whatever. Just please get along." I speed past him and walk in step with Izzy and Jace, who are now sticking their tongues out at each other. I shake my head, laughing.
"Did I miss something?" I smile. Jace and Izzy look over at me and burst out laughing.
"Nothing Clare-bear, just some mild banter." Jace winks, causing me to blush. We reach the door and Jace kindly holds it open for us, except for Simon. This is going to be a problem… The waiter leads us to a corner round booth, casually flirting with Jace, who completely ignores her. Izzy is the first to slide in the booth. Jace slides in next, followed by me, then Simon. We quickly take our orders and have some friendly conversation.
"Are you excited to live with us Jace?" I ask, hoping this will break the ice between us all.
"Yeah!" He exclaims. As if it is an afterthought, "Wait… is gamer monkey going to live with us too?" He innocently asks, to which I give him a joking glare.
"No and he's not a gamer monkey!" I speak in behalf of Simon, who left to the bathroom. Realization hits Jace.
"Ooohhh. My bad. Handsome gamer monkey, as Isabelle puts it." He smirks over at Izzy, who is madly blushing.
"What?! I never said that!" She hides her face in her hands. I widely smile.
"Finally! She admitted it?" I turn to Jace. "But to you? You've got game, Wayland." I smirk. Jace barks out a laugh.
"Of course I do! I got it out of her on the walk here, when you were talking with Simon." He nudges Izzy who is still hiding. "I've only known you for a few hours and I already know your dark secret. Just imagine what I can learn in a matter of weeks…" He evilly grins. Izzy groans, still blushing.
"Guys, you can't tell him!" She gasps and whispers, "He's coming!" She begins to sip her water casually. Jace and I are still wildly smiling when he reaches the table. He looks between the three of us and raises an eyebrow. Why can't I do that?!
"Did I miss something?" He asks when he is seated. I glance over at Jace, remembering that exact question and response.
"Nothing Simon, just some mild banter." I wink, and watch Jace suddenly remember the answer. He returns my gaze and smiles. The food finally arrives and we dig in. This isn't going too bad.
PAGE BREAK HAS RETURNED BOW DOWN TO PAGE BREAK
We walk out of Taki's with full stomachs and happy moods. Jace walks out first and does a little spin, taking in the environment.
"That was probably the best meal I've had in a while." He sighs in content. I chuckle at his newfound love.
"Taki's is the bomb." We all walk back to the 'banana van' and climb in. Just as Simon starts the car, I get a call. I pull out my phone and gasps when I see the name: Mom.
"Guys, my mom is calling. I'm going to put her on speaker, so shut up." They silence as I answer the call.
(AN: Cell Phone format again. Bold is mom. Italics is Clary. Anything normal is stuff happening during the call.)
Clary: Hello?
Mom: Clary? Where are you dear?
The anger in her voice is noticeable.
Clary: Out. Where were you guys 2 hours ago?
A noticeable sigh comes from the other end.
Mom: We had business to take care of. Didn't you get the note? You left SO quickly that we couldn't explain.
I scoff and roll my eyes, glancing around the car. Simon and Jace look concerned while Izzy looks slightly annoyed.
Clary: Sure thing mom. Are you all home?
I smirk, knowing that they returned to the airport.
Mom: No, we are not Clarissa. We returned to the airport, as we said. I assume you are with Simon? Who else would drive you anywhere?
I glance around, a bit shocked at her comment.
Clary: Yeah. We have Jace by the way, thanks for asking about your star client.
Jace stifles a laugh while Simon gives me a warning look. His eyes say, You're pushing it.
Mom: I knew you did. He would have called if he wasn't with you.
We hear her snap at someone with her, presumably my father.
Mom: We are heading home to pack the last of our things. We made arrangements to leave tonight. Return home now, please.
She strains the 'please' before hanging up.
We all let out a sigh of relief as Simon begins to leave the parking space.
"Clary, maybe we shouldn't have left. I don't want you to get in trouble." Jace says. I smile in appreciation.
"It's fine Jace. They're leaving in a few hours so we can't get into any more trouble." I grin before turning my attention to the drive back to my house.
PAGE BREAK V: THE PAGE BREAK STRIKES BACK (If you got this, then you rock.)
Simon drops us off at the gate. I thank him for the millionth time, before punching in the code for the gate. Before I can knock, Matt is already in the doorway, with open arms. I immediately jump in them and hug him tightly. Instant relief fills me when I realize that Matt isn't mad or in trouble with my parents.
"I'm so sorry Clary. I couldn't tell you anything." He apologizes, still hugging me. I let go and stand with Izzy and Jace. Matt and Jace shake hands and we all head inside. Matt grabs the luggage's and scurries off to Jace's room. John comes out of the hallway and smiles when he sees us. He speeds over to us and gives me a hug.
"Mom and dad are pissed. Good luck getting out of this one, sis." He lets me go before doing that weird manly high-five-chest-bump thing with Jace. Matt comes back empty-handed and looks at the group.
"Let's get ready, shall we?" He rubs his hands together deviously. Jace looks at us all.
"Ready for what?" He asks. Matt smirks.
"For the Morgensterns' going away 'party'." He sarcastically announces. Jace still looks utterly confused.
"When my parents leave, the four of us, or now five, have a night where we do whatever we want. Anything we want, really. Matt is almost our age so we're all just friends hanging out." Jonathan explains, surprisingly correct. Jace nods his head in understanding.
"So what are we going to do tonight?" He asks. Matt looks at each of us before revealing today's "party".
"Because we have a newcomer, I'll do something interesting." He glances at me and I know exactly what he's going to pick.
"Pandemonium." We both say at the same time. Everyone's face lights up. Jace glances around and smiles.
"I'm guessing that's a good thing." He pats my shoulder. "Let's get started."
Done! They're going to Pandemonium oh my god this'll be interesting. Thank you guys for reading! Getting your reviews makes me so happy! :) Have a good night!
