So if you read my last author's note last chapter, you could see that I lied a little… hehe sorry. FINALS SUCK MAN IM SORRY. But I'm down to my last 2 weeks of school so I may finally have time update… Although no promises because I say this every time and it obviously doesn't go as planned. Now it's time to address a couple things:

ONE: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't DM me just asking for updates. That's rude man. Pestering is not the way to get me to update, trust me. If anything, it makes me stressed because I realize that I actually have people reading this which is pretty crazy by the way.

TWO: How about a nice little Q&A? Ask me anything in the reviews and I'll try to answer them next chapter! I LOVE YOU ALL AND I AM VERY OPEN WITH MY THOUGHTS SO ASK AWAY :)

Ok, let's begin! Chapter 16…17?

CLARY POV

"Knock knock, Princess." I groggily open my eyes to the sound of someone knocking on my door. I groan in response, and hide under the sheets. I hear the sounds of my bedroom door being opened and footsteps getting closer and closer. Suddenly, the sheets are ripped off my body and Matt is staring down at me, laughing. I loudly groan as I roll of the bed.

"Matt… 5 more minutes?" I ask, already getting comfortable on the floor. He nudges my side with his foot.

"Nope. Your boyfriend is already asking about you?" I perk up. "I knew you'd like to hear about that." He sits on the floor next to me. "Jace has been asking for you. Everyone's been awake for the past 2 hours." I glance up at the clock on my dresser. It read 11:00 a.m. I sit up and rest my head on his shoulder. He looks down at me with concern and a questioning look. "Something wrong, Clare?"

I sigh dramatically. "Let me sleep please Matty." I pout. He bursts out laughing and shoves me off his shoulder.

"Nice try Fray." He smirks before throwing me over his shoulder like a potato sack. He rushes out of my bedroom and down the halls, with me kicking and screaming the whole time, until he comes to a halt right in front of the kitchen door.

"Why'd we stop Matt?" I giggle, still somewhat groggy.

"Listen very carefully Fray. I want you to continue your laughing and kicking and screaming as we walk into the kitchen and when I put you down, give me a huge hug and go on with your normal routine in the kitchen and completely ignore Jace until he says something to you first. Are we clear?" He whispers.

"Umm… Sure? Why are we doing this exactly?" I ask warily.

"You'll thank me later." He says before slapping my leg, launching me into another fit of laughter. He starts running in place before shoving the kitchen door open and continuing our fun. He spins a few times with me still on his shoulder, flailing my arms and laughing. He finally puts me down near the fridge, with my back facing the counter where Izzy, Jon, and Jace all sit, playing a game of Cards Against Humanity. My giggles slowly come to an end and I go on my tip toes, giving Matt the biggest hug I can manage. He smiles down at me, but only someone who knows him as well as I do would realize that it was in fact a smirk. I let go and turn towards the fridge, preparing myself a bowl of cereal. I fall back into my routine with Matt, murmuring "Behind you" every time we cross paths in order to avoid a collision (like many times before). He starts making what looks like a caesar salad, swiftly moving around me from the counter to the fridge and so forth.

"Well, look who's up." Jon says, concentrating on his cards.

"I'm sorry, it's not like you were actually dancing yesterday, seeing as you can't dance." I laugh as he scoffs. I look up at him and wink and out of the corner of my eye, I can see Jace waiting to speak up. I finish getting my bowl of cereal and pull up a chair on the opposite side of the counter so that I can sit in front of them. "So what's our game plan for school tomorrow?" I say before shoving a spoonful of Captain Crunch into my mouth.

"Umm… maybe we can just waltz through the front and pretend that we are above it all?" Izzy jokingly suggests. I scoff.

"We are above it all, Izzy." Jace laughs at that and keeps on looking at me, expecting me to look back. But I don't. He sighs and walks around the counter. I "ignore" him as he turns to grab something behind me. Suddenly, I am being hugged around the waist from behind. My heartbeat accelerates. Breathe Clary, it's just Matt again.

"You shouldn't pretend to ignore me, Clarebear." Someone murmurs in my ear. Jace. I slightly gasp and tense up. He moves away and sits back down as if it was nothing. Izzy was just about ready to explode with joy while Jon looks just plain confused. I try to calm my heart rate. Jace held me… oh my-

"You okay there, Clary?" Jace says with a smirk. I give a tight smile and we continue our lunch (more like my breakfast). We strategize for our plan on how we can safely walk in without being trampled.

"CLARY! Don't you dare make Jace sit through that terrible movie." Izzy yells at me. We are currently all sitting in the living room. Simon came over and Jon went out with some girl. Izzy and I were laying opposite of each other on the couch while Simon was sitting in the recliner by the left and Jace was spread out across the love seat to our right.

I roll my eyes. "It's not even that bad!" I sigh as I stand up to go change the movie.

"What movie?" Jace asks. I turn to him.

"Pitch Perfect. It's not bad right?" I ask, hoping for some support.

"Ehhhh." I look at him accusingly. How dare he betray me! "I mean, its great Clarebear." He smiles warily. Izzy rolls her eyes.

"Of course he's on your side." She throws up her arms dramatically. "Whatever! Just play it." I smile triumphantly. We are currently having a lazy Sunday before Jace's first day at school. I grab a bowl of popcorn for Izzy and I to share as well as a bag of Twizzlers. Simon snatches the Sour Patch Kids before anyone else and Jace hesitantly grabs the other bowl of popcorn.

Throughout the entirety of the movie, I unintentionally kept on staring at Jace. So often actually, that he caught me a few times and called me out. Like now.

He raises an eyebrow. "The movie is over there Morgenstern." I cringe at the name, but turn back nonetheless. Eventually, the movie was over and we all laid where we were, talking about our favorite movies and TV shows. Jace and Simon had more in common than you could imagine. Surprisingly, they both liked Star Wars and worshiped anything Marvel. It felt nice to know that although Simon and I always had the same interests, we also have a third person in the household. Izzy, on the other hand, was too busy snapchatting our conversation with Jace to even pay attention to the topics. She finally cleared her throat.

"Uhh… guys?" She says looking up from her phone. "We may have a teeny tiny problem." We cease our conversation.

"Please elaborate, Izzy" Simon says slowly. Izzy takes a deep breath.

"Ok so I've been snapchatting about this whole adventure with Jace because, hello! How could you not?!" She gestures towards him repeatedly. "And Maureen texted me all like 'OMG is Jace actually staying at your house' and I was like, yeah. And she just texted me saying 'on my way'. So she might be coming over like right now and if she sees Jace she will flip and tell the whole school where we live. "She inhales loudly, finally finishing her speech.

"Wow! You publicized our private relaxation time with Jace, a celebrity! Who would have thought that there might have been consequences!" Simon says sarcastically. I couldn't help but giggle, but Jace seemed to look too serious.

"You all are great, but I really do not want fans at my place of residence." He grimaces. "I have had too many cases of crazy fans showing up at my hotel rooms and I really, really don't want that here."

"I'm so sorry Jace." I say sincerely. "I'm sorry SOMEONE" I stare accusingly at Izzy, "Couldn't keep there mouth shut about your stay."

"Could we maybe go out?" Jace asks me. My eyes widen. He laughs. "Not like that yet princess." He winks, "I just want to be out of the house when Izzy's friend comes over." He shrugs.

I nod understandingly. "You have a good point. Let's go, Jace. Izzy, you stay here for when Maureen gets here so you can tell her to leave. Simon, come with us or go home." I bark out commands. Simon rolls his eyes.

"And be a third wheel on your little date? No way." He stands to leave. "I'll see you tomorrow Clare" He gives Izzy and I a hug, before giving Jace a nod, and walking out the front door.

"Well that was abrupt." Izzy states, still looking at the door. "Get out of here, losers." She slaps by butt, pushing me off the sofa. She laughs her head off as I face plant onto the rug. Immediately, Jace is giving me a hand, helping me up. I blush slightly, a bit embarrassed. He winks and gives me his arm.

"Shall we?" He asks. I loop my arm through his.

"We shall." We both laugh before grabbing my keys and walking out the door.
